There is a swing set and trails to walk or ride a bicycle. A shelter house is handicapped accessible with a party room and a porch with picnic tables. The view of the river here is one of the best. The river is wide. There's a dam that has a good flow of water for fishing. As a kid Dad took our boat through the canal locks which looks like you can still do that. Don't forget a walk to the village of Grand Rapids. It's only .2 miles and it's a destination with cute shops and eateries. A campground and boat ramp are just to south of the park.

After renting our RV, we plotted out our route from the East coast to West coast and picked KOA campgrounds along our route to stop at night. This was our first RV/KOA experience and it was very different than what I was expecting. When we arrived, the campground was absolutely packed. Check in was super easy, and they had somebody in a golf cart take us directly to our spot and helped us maneuver our 30-footer into the reserved space for us. When we arrived in our space however, the neighbors to our spot had used it as a cornhole gathering spot for the neighborhood and it seemed like they were disgruntled that they had to give it up. Our spot was a back-in with water and electricity which was all we needed because we were just spending the night. The campground stayed pretty loud pretty late but we were so exhausted, we didn't really notice. In the morning, we packed out early and were gone before anyone was up. Overall price was good, I think our spot was about $32 to $35 and because we had a cruise America rig, we got a 10% off on our stay. Overall, this was a much rowdier, cramped, communal camping then I was expecting but it seems like those who were using it were pretty tight-knit group and they enjoyed it much more than we did. If we were going to be coming through this area again with an RV we would probably not stay here.

Dog play area, with bags for poopy pickup. Bath house. 24 hour laundry. Fill your propane tanks. Site see through the day, relax if you wish. Then sleep into the night in silence. Pool was not open, we don't use it anyways. Playground area Rain rain made the put put golf unusable, but not the fault of campground. Very nice people running this campground. They help you set up if needed, and give advice on the perfect places to go visit. Just can't get batter as far as I'm concerned. Store is stocked with all essentials plus.

I don't know why though, this is the first time I had this happen, lol. Anyways, the area I stayed in is across the lake from the flat campground... in the woody area. Overall, I had a good experience. It is quiet and peaceful here. There are other guests staying here as well, but everyone is respectful. Electricity and water are included except for sewer. They do a run once a week with a honey wagon with a fee of 8 bucks. Oh well. Another thing is that there is a rail road next to the woody area and multiple trains go by day and night. I guess you can get used to it, lol. It was a good place to stay at though. The staff is super accommodating and helpful. I would definitively recommend this campground.

The parks residents are living in broken down RVs, some of which are falling apart at the seams. There is no sewer and the dump station was overflowing into the surrounding grass. The cost is $40 and cash only. It's not worth even close to that. I bet the IRS would be interested in all that cash for tax purposes. I encourage anyone thinking about stopping to pass this place and go to another.

They have kids games at 11am on Saturdays and hay rides that run in the evenings. If I would recommend any time to go it would be when they are doing their halloween themed weekend. They give away cider and donuts, there is a costume parade followed up by trick or treating, and at night a haunted hayride where the owner made many of his attractions that you will see when on the haunted hayride. A great place to make great memories, I'm forever grateful that my aunt and uncle went here and started a wonderful tradition.

When I explained that we had an emergency situation the park office gave me the name and number of the park owner and suggested I call him. Dennis Driver was absolutely wonderful. He said he had a site I could park in at a very reasonable rate. While I was in the hospital for several days Dennis and his staff went above and beyond to help my wife who knew very little about the RV or about things that I would normally take care of. I would recommend Hidden Lake Campground to anyone. While I myself spent little time in the park itself the level of concern and care exhibited puts them at par with any of the best RV parks in the country. Rude and incompetent staff. Staff refused to return my credit card. They insisted I was not…read morereturning the tanks that I used. They had me down for 3 tanks instead of 2 tanks. I repeatedly explained to them I gave back the only 2 tanks that I used. They insinuated that I was holding back a tank. Staff had to go and recheck paperwork and make a phone call to someone. While waiting for all this I walked over to the changing room to put on some dry clothes. The rooms looked nasty, so I walked back to get my card. This whole ordeal took about 20 minutes or so. I was understandably irritated by this time. I finally got my card back with no apology or compensation for my inconvenience. This is no way to do business.
