After 15-20 minutes of driving around, we found free street parking on a side street. And we found several booths to look in. Our son even found one booth with art that caught his eye, and we ended up buying two prints that we plan to frame and hang. Along with the art, I love all of the community groups that have booths and local food options. And when our kids wanted to run a bit -- up to that point they had been taking eveything in from a cart -- we went to the playground behind the Old Louisville Visitors Centers. Wiggles managed! Having Central Park nearby also offers such a beautiful spot to relax. I stand by my tips in my previous review, and wanted to write an update to commend this large event on being consistently great year after year. We will definitely be back!

My favorite day to visit is Friday and I prefer to get there at the start of the morning. We need minimum 4 hours, maybe 6 to move slower to visit all the areas. Parking can be tricky; however, there's several options to support community schools and churches to pay by car. The fountain area is a favorite picture spot, but my favorite areas are the smaller streets. Several of the repeat artists have become my favorite and where I purchase reproductions of their original artwork. I also find my favorite noodles mixed with veggies and soy sauce, close to shared picnic tables. Visitor tips: wear comfy clothes and shoes, bring an easy to hold bag to stuff your purchases, stash water bottles to start your day - it can be tough to find it later at the show and expensive, wear sunscreen, get a babysitter when you can, take breaks to rest your feet and stretch your back, and bring your out of town friends. Thank you to the volunteers that keep this show running smoothly! I hope every artist has a great experience in Louisville.

While downtown I visited the Louisville Visitors Center, which is near the Hyatt Regency, and I noticed a painted door I'd never seen before. I was so excited! Time to find more. In fact, shortly after I moved here, a prestigious local professional recommended I attend it. The neighborhood is gorgeous, and the art fair is well organized and thought out. I was glad to see food from Kingsley's was featured as it has great food. I like this art fair just as much as the St. James one if not better. If you are looking for a nice, fun activity and enjoy being outside and art, this festival is especially for you. There also is jewelry, soap and lotion, and other items sold. Could it be in the wood. Perhaps because we are standing here in this factory on this tour. The bat, the Louisville slugger is the bat. The official bat of baseball. During this tour you will learn why? I cannot give it all away. Make sure and see it all. You can go in and hold a bat too. The vault of bats of over a 100 years old. The dreams that have come true as you stand here . Wow! Now for this experience it's timed when they have a line. Come during the day and usually the place is yours. The guided tours are great they are relatively cheap and easy. They provide reliable information about the highlights of baseball history. Now make sure and take a photo with the giant bat out front. The parking is on street or of visiting at the hotel and walk here. Either way this is a laid back place you can spend the whole day here. Come and be apart of baseball and all its past .

Baseball is the sport I had the most memories of from growing up, so having the chance to go to the iconic place where all Louisville slugger bats are made, was a must when my wife and I visited Louisville. It was a worthwhile tour. I bought tickets before our trip, and got upsold the neighboring distillery experience at Big Bat Bourbon. Prices were $50 for each adult directly from the website, and chose two times (9:40 am for the slugger tour and 11 am for the distillery). This actually ended up being the right amount of time, and still be able to grab lunch in the area. There are numerous parking garages in the area, and we parked at the closest one to the museum (4th and Main). It has a maximum daily rate of $15 (4 hours or more with no validation anywhere, so ended up paying that when leaving). It's $24 per adult to enter the museum and it includes the tour of the factory and a mini souvenir bat. The tour started exactly at 9:40, and our guide walked us through the history and the manufacturing floor of the site. Pictures were fine but no video was allowed. They produce over 1 million bat per year at this site, including all pro model bat used by major leaguers. Ash, maple, and birch are some of the woods used to make bats, all sourced from renewable forests in Pennsylvania. 15% of the wood are graded as pro bats, with players ordering about 100 custom made bats per season. The sawdust produced is used for turkey beds at a nearby farm. It was clear that the program knew what questions had been asked previously and made the answers part of the tour. The entire tour lasted about 50 minutes, and at the end, we got to pick out a mini bat for each of us. After the tour, we looked at other parts of the museum, including a place where you can touch and hold antique bats. I tried the Babe Ruth bat...it was so HEAVY. They also had a batting cage where folks tried batting practice. There was a large gift shop, where one could buy bats and have them personalized. If I didn't know better, I would have gotten the impression that ALL baseball bats for The Show are made by Louisville Slugger from the tour, but that is hardly the case. Only bat manufacturers approved and registered by MLB can be used in a game, but there are quite a few of them (over two dozen). In terms of which brands major league players use, Marucci Sports (24%) and Victus (18.4%, owned by Marucci) lead the pack, with Louisville Slugger being third (13.1%). With this sort of popularity, Marucci/Victus became the official bat of MLB before the 2025 season, replacing Louisville Slugger. For obvious reasons, that was not mentioned during the tour, and made the experience more of a museum visit (looking at the past) vs a factory tour.
