    Chicken Biryani ($16)
    James I.

This place is in the former Tessa Sweet Cafe and old Sukhothai across the street from the AMC Highwoods 20 Theater. This is a Pakistani restaurant with meat curries, veg curries, kabobs, biryani and some appetizers/desserts. They have a weekend buffet from 11 am to 3:30 pm (Saturday/Sunday) ($20 -25 from what other people have posted) Pros: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean location and nice customer service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You go to the counter to order. I ordered Chicken Biryani and a soda there The biryani was hot and fresh. ($16) It had a decent amount of boneless chicken too. The amount was good and I had enough for a second smaller serving for lunch. Im very "Goldilocks" about biryani in New Tampa. Ruchi (gas station) barely has meat. Taaza puts drumsticks instead of boneless meat. Taj is $18 and is a tiny portion. The state of Indian/Pakistani restaurants has gone down after COVID. Open Sundays with adequate parking Cons No tandoori chicken on the a la carte menu and no fish/shrimp dishes (Apparently Tandoori is on the weekend buffet) Overall: This is one of the better places to get biryani in New Tampa.

The weekend buffet from 11-3pm was a hit. The food was well prepared and delicious. Tandoori chicken grilled in a clay oven and topped with the fluffy bread along with rice and chicken biryani leaves no room for anything but compliments. Chai was perfectly brewed. I just wish they had more salads but I am not complaining. The family owners were always available to answer questions and continuously refilling the foods. Very pleasant and gives a feeling like you are their house guests. Desert was simple gulab jam and milk-rice or noodles. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A simple no frills setup adds to the relaxed atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Week days they serve an extensive menu and they have daily American breakfast. A gem that deserves more visits.

Great place, food, and service. I'm so glad I found it. I only had time to get a beef Nihari one of my favorite things. But I plan to be back for their weekend buffet. Very friendly and attentive people. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean and bright.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Plenty of parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Quiet area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Well this was a pleasant surprise‼ Excellent authentic Indian food. We were first for the day and everything was fresh and tasty. Super nice couple running the cafe. They were getting lots of takeout orders by phone and by walk in. Worth a stop. Thank you for the excellent lunch.

Butter chicken wrap, butter chicken over grits

This restaurant is also "Breakfast Kitchen" in the mornings. Went today and had a butter chicken wrap and butter chicken over grits. Both tasted great. Very unique menu items. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The environment is cozy and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waitress was very nice, answered all of our questions, and came by several times. Great place to try out!

The staff was very friendly and we had biryani, seekh kabob and nihari... The nihari was delicious and so was the biryani. Everything tasted just like home. I would recommend this Pakistani restaurant for your next dinner out.

Butter Chicken, Chicken Korma, Garlic Naan & rice
    Marlia H.

I crave Indian food often, and left more than satisfied after dining at Kabob Cafe & Grill! Upon entering the door, we were greeted with a welcome and bright smile from the gentleman working. I got the full portion of butter chicken, as it's my usual, which included rice. My mom got chicken korma and we added 2 orders of garlic naan. The gentleman brought a large bottle of cold water and utensils to our table shortly after ordering. The wait was not long at all, because before we knew it our food was brought out. The butter chicken was bursting with flavor and had a little spiciness to it which I appreciated even more. What I love most was there was a good amount of chicken portioned in the sauce. Many Indian restaurants I have been to give you so much sauce but hardly 4 cubes of chicken. It was a lovely surprise to see they gave proper portions of chicken to sauce here. The garlic on the naan tasted freshly minced and was generously spread on the naan. If I come down to visit again, I'll be sure to come back!

For dinner, we had the Namaste Thali, masala dosa, and a chicken dish that was the same chicken that was on the Namaste Thali (it was good enough to continue eating, for sure) All of it was delicious. Provided that feedback while paying the bill, but clearly they don't understand the concept of customer service and kept providing plenty of reasons. On top of that, the food wasn't that great. The dosa was served really cold. Not returning here just for the poorest customer service sense at display. Plenty of good options around.

Rude Business, Rude Patrons, and an Unpleasant Stench…read more From the moment I walked in, I should've trusted my nose--there was a strong stench that set the tone for everything that followed. The male customers were shockingly rude, walking straight into my space as if I were invisible, expecting me to move out of their way. When I approached an open register, I politely asked the cashier if she was available. Instead of a simple answer, she huffed, rolled her eyes, and made it clear my presence was an inconvenience. That was it for me. I put everything back and walked out. I had planned to return with family and friends, but that changed quickly. Cultural differences or not, rude is rude, and bad customer service is still bad customer service. I won't be back.

I recently had a disappointing customer service experience at Taaza Mart. During checkout, I was…read moremistakenly charged twice for a masala packet. Upon noticing the error, I immediately returned to the store with my receipt and groceries to request a correction. While explaining the issue to another cashier, I politely mentioned that such mistakes can occur when new employees are still learning. However, my comment was met with a defensive and rude response, despite my intention being simply to highlight the importance of proper training. The store owner then became involved. After reviewing the receipt and the item in question, instead of promptly addressing the duplicate charge, I was asked whether I had taken an additional packet from the store shelf. I found this question inappropriate, as the receipt clearly showed the item had been charged twice. My only request was a refund for the incorrect charge. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and mentioned that I intended to share my experience through a customer review, the owner's attitude changed significantly. Rather than processing the small refund that was due, I was unexpectedly offered a refund for the entire purchase and told to keep the groceries. This gave the impression that the issue was being handled to discourage me from leaving feedback rather than to resolve the original mistake professionally. I declined this offer and requested that the matter be handled properly. After further discussion, the transaction was finally corrected. However, I was then accused of "threatening" the store simply because I stated my intention to leave an honest review of my experience. While mistakes can happen in any business, what matters most is how they are addressed. Unfortunately, I found the handling of this situation unprofessional, dismissive, and unnecessarily confrontational. The experience left me feeling frustrated, unfairly treated, and disappointed with the level of customer service provided.
