    Delicious appetizer combo!
    Karen F.

Updating my review from 4 years ago: still awesome! I just really love everything I've tried at this restaurant. The food is always fresh, the service quick, friendly, and efficient, good sized portions of food, and very reasonably priced. My most recent visit I tried the Chicken Shawarma platter, and it was wonderful. Normally served with a garlic sauce, he substituted tzatziki when I requested it, which made it perfect. The chicken was carved straight off the rotating spit and heated on the flat grill, and was served with a small salad and hummus. Their hummus is really creamy and delicious. The platter is also served with a pita - keep in mind this is not the fluffy pita you're used to, but a Lebanese style large, almost flat pita, which is perfect for tearing apart and scooping up your food. Make sure to treat yourself to a piece of baklava for dessert - it is fresh and crispy and just the right amount of sweet. No real ambiance, but booths are available if you want to sit inside and eat. Totally a hidden gem, and I'll definitely be back.

The Food was SO good, and they also have Keto Diet Options. Their Garlic Sauce has no sugar, no dairy, and the taste and smell is absolutely AMAZING!! I haven't had a good Mom and Pop spot like this in a LONG time since I lived in NYC in the 1990s. If I'm ever near by here again I'm definitely coming by! My kids had the Pita options and they loved it, 5/5s all around!!!

this sandwich will heal you of any depression, you will have the most beautiful amazing day after eating this sandwich. I literally saw a rainbow on my drive home- this sandwich blessed my day, i'm so serious. The man who works there is very nice and the food he makes is fresh. The falafel is the best you'll ever have. My mom took me here one time like 2 years ago, and I never stopped thinking about the falafel.

Being from Detroit, I grew up eating Lebanese- Middle Eastern food, so was more than excited to find the locally owned La Pita. This is a fast casual spot that is probably more frequented as carryout. The falafel was handmade and delicious but the accompaniments didn't enhance the meal - would have preferred hummus, tabouli and toum to a traditional salad. Shawarma was good, though sliced too fine.

An explosion of great flavors in every bite. Fresh and delicious food, with very pleasant and quick service. Generous portions, and lots of options on the menu. The atmosphere is decidedly casual, and well traveled, but you're there for three food, and it's definitely worth a trip! I had a traditional Gyro, and it came with a mound of meat, tasty sauce, and fresh veggies on a puffy pita. My wife had Shawarma, which also had fantastic flavors and was a huge serving of food. Definitely recommended!

I was worried when I opened the containers and saw the portion sizes. I thought surely, I will still be hungry after this. I'm glad to say that was NOT the case. The Kafta and Shawarma I ordered were seasoned to perfection and meant to be eaten with every side in the to-go containers which really brought the flavors out even more. This was my first time trying La Pita and I know for a fact, I will be ordering from here again. The ingredients were fresh and I'm interested in trying their other menu items.

An explosion of flavor was met with every bite. We had the hummus appetizer with lamb&beef gyros, and both were excellent. The lamb&beef gyros were juicy, packed with flavor and generously filled. If you'd like to try authentic Lebanese cuisine, please check out La Pita.

Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. In the spirit of expanding our culinary pallet, we ordered two apps that were new to us. The Kebbeh was very good - i'd say similar to a meat hush puppy? Krispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. The Baba Ganju was different than what I was expecting and not something I personally liked (not any fault to the dish, I'm just a texture person). The chicken shawarma and gyro platter (it's a platter at dinner) were FANTASTIC! Seriously, so much flavor, fresh, the meat was not overly cooked. Everything tasted very fresh and we seriously had no complaints!! We also ordered a side of Batata, which are sort of crispy potato cubes with chili flakes + garlic - so good! I will say when we got there, there was a mishap and we waited over 20 minutes to be greeted and introduced to our server after we sat down. Once our server realized we were in her section, the rest of our service was amazing! I think that was just a one off fluke, and I would not let it negatively impact my experience.

The customer service was genuinely some of the best we've ever experienced it was warm, welcoming, and so hospitable. The bread was phenomenal and worth the visit all on its own! We ordered two İnegöl Köfte plates to split between two adults and one child, and honestly, one plate would have been plenty because the portions are so generous. The köfte was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the rice was absolutely delicious, and the fresh salad was the perfect complement. I also ordered a side of chicken just to try it, and it was equally flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. For drinks, we tried the Turkish pear soda and the orange soda. Both were delicious, but the pear was my favorite and is a must-try! If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Turkish food with generous portions and outstanding hospitality, this is the place. They are in a pretty inauspicious location, in a small strip of businesses on MacDill, but there should be a path of folks beating a path to the door. We ordered an aggressive amount of food for two people. We asked and received for the bartender's choice on a charcuterie board. She nailed it. We were two bites in and planning our next visit. I want to eat every pairing they suggest. My husband cannot get over the Merlot cheddar and chocolate jam. I was partial to the potato cheddar and sweet onion jam. It was very tasty and a good amount of food. The only thing I would change about my experience would be for the fries to be advertised as a side so that we'd know how much they cost, since the price wasn't listed on the menu. When I grabbed some ketchup packets for my fries, the packets had dirt on them which was a bit weird. Maybe I got the bottom of the batch or something. It may have been the fact that at my first job out of high school, folks called the truck that swung by the "roach coach." Conversely, it may be my binge watching of food network and their Food Truck Rally that has changed my mind. Either way, I'm very pleased with the fact that I've begun exploring these great little mobile sources of food pleasure. This food truck swung by work recently, and I have to admit I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Middle East cuisine. The young woman taking the order was very patient and explained all the different plates, the variations available, and what came on each. Her top recommendation came for the beef shawarma and I told her I'd take it. One thing that folks have to realize is that these are mobile kitchens with very limited space. In today's age of fast food that seems to be sitting under a food warmer and being prepared long before you order, there is an unrealistic expectation that a food truck will spit your order out in a minute or two. I played on my phone for a while and was delighted when my name was called. The meat was perfectly seasoned and there was no skimping on the portions. The liberal amount of sauce on top added to the tastiness (and most definitely the messiness) of this dish. I'm hoping this food truck comes back soon. Not only for a chance to try some other of their tasty dishes, but also because of the friendliness of the woman at the window, and for how (relatively) quickly my food was served.

We had a 6:30 PM reservation and the restaurant was fairly empty (about 4-5 tables occupied), yet we were seated at a very small two-top directly next to another couple where we could clearly hear each other's conversations. Several larger tables nearby remained empty the entire evening. When I asked about moving, we were told the tables were reserved and we'd need to leave by 8:30 PM ~ yet we stayed until 9:40 PM and those tables were never used... Service started off slow. No one greeted us for about 20 minutes until we waved someone over. When our server, Briana, arrived, she asked if we had been helped, which made it seem like there was a lack of communication between the host staff and servers. Food was okay: the branzino with grilled vegetables was very good, but the octopus was extremely tough and chewy. My plate was also chipped on both the left and right sides, which was surprising considering how expensive the dinner was. Drinks were fine, just a bit too sweet. What really caught me off guard was the automatic 20% gratuity added to a two-top. The most expensive restaurants in Tampa don't even do it and this is not Miami. Overall, not a terrible experience ~ but not one that makes me eager to return.
