I ordered their half chicken plate with rice and jalapeno poppers. It was a great value. The chicken had good flavor. The rice was a little bland, but when mixed with the chicken juices, it made a great vessel for the chicken flavor. The poppers were just ok, but did offer a solid side to go along the meal. The storefront is in a strip with a neighborhood market and a bar. The menu was big with a lot of options. The decor was basic with a handful of tables, meaning that it's primarily a take-out/delivery spot. The person who rung me up gave me extra sauce, and made sure I was given all options. Got the loaded fries, and they were great. Huge portion of fries, topped with chopped fried chicken, and sauce. Maybe cheese sauce as well, it was kind of a huge pile of fried stuff, and florescent sauce of some sort. Well worth the price, but really it would feed two people. Service and cleanliness was top notch. Expect a wait for the food as it's cooked to order. The medium Peri Chicken wrap was delicious be careful as there is a lot of sauce that can make a mess if not careful. The side peri fries it came with were some of the best fries I've eaten in recent memory. I also got a medium chicken tender bowl and was pleased with the serving size. The tenders were good very lean with light sauce although plenty more sauce was provided on the side to dip which I prefer so the rice bed isn't swamped. If you are looking for more tender meat I'd probably choose the wings. The rice was delicious and well spiced, keep in mind it has more heat than the medium sauce. The side salad was fresh and had delicious vinaigrette which was a nice break from the heat. Just recently found Firebird Piri Piri Grill after having been open only 2 months. Apparently Piri Piri is an African chili used to enhance the dishes. Firstly, it has a nice open airy feel with 3 tables if you decide to dine in with a pretty cool large old world mural on the wall. However, I'll imagine most as I, will consider this a takeout spot as it is a little small. The order taker was super friendly and especially helpful when I told him it was my 1st time here. I selected a 4 piece barbecue sauce chicken tender option that comes with fries and he suggested the fries dusted with the Piri Piri seasoning blend. When my order came up, it was in a rather large bag and it was moderately heavy. I was hugely surprised! Inside were the largest juicy chicken tenders I've ever had...covered nicely in a delicious barbecue sauce with a huge bag of hot dusted seasoned fries! The smell was incredible. Even my neighbor said the fries were very delicious. There was also a side of ranch dressing and the namesake Piri Piri dipping sauce which is truly flavorful. I got the mildest of 4 levels of heat and it had quite a punch, so I can't imagine what the heat levels are for higher other 3, but I'm sure I won't be trying them anytime soon! Overall, for the price point paid, this was a HUGE DEAL for a very nice meal and I even had leftovers! Will most definitely be hitting up the Firebird Piri Piri Grill often! read more

The chicken was tender/juicy and sauces are very well made. It's a suitable alternative to Nando's, and roughly the same price (if I recall). They were having PoS issues as well as some kitchen issues when I visited, but they rectified it by being accommodating and offering us free drinks. Good customer service! I think photos can be misleading i ordered the chicken tenders and thought based on pictures that it came with rice or salad and when we got it that was not the case it came with nothing and the bbq sauce was so hot my daughter was unable to eat it. This place definitely knows chicken! Their grilled chk wings are so good, very spicy so becareful on the best you choose. Their sauces are legit. Also, the crispy chk tenders are actually chk tenderloins. Again, the sauces are legit! I live across the street so might be a little bias, but their chk is really good. I got a beef before it was just ok, they never dip it the way I like, their gyro is huge but nothing special. The fries that come with almost everything there are awesome! They have a seasoning that's addicting and they always give you a white garlic sauce to dip them. read more

The chicken is delicious (hot, tender, flavorful) and so are the Piri rice & the side of garlic sauce. They included an order of fries which I didn't expect & even the fries were delicious. Finally, the young man who took my order (Zeph?) chatted with me while I waited for my order & he made a really nice impression.
