This location is part of the Southpoint shopping area, and I really enjoyed the spacious layout and the cozy fireplace feature of the design. We thoroughly enjoyed the prime rib and the filet, and the charred carrots were a definitive standout. The well-crafted cocktails were also a nice addition to the dinner. Came here for dinner recently and had an OK experience, but there were a few problems with the service and the food. First, I made a reservation for 7 PM on Saturday so we could go shopping and then grab dinner afterwards. I understand that a lot of other people probably had a similar approach, but I was disappointed that the restaurant was running behind and we were seated about 20 minutes late. That being said, I heard the hostess tell a group of 4 people without a reservation that their wait time would be 3 and a half hours (!). Of course, that group immediately walked out, but that's pretty crazy, especially because I think the restaurant was closing at 11 PM. While we were waiting to be seated, we grabbed a table in the bar area and ordered a drink. The staff member who took our order was nice but it did take longer than expected to get the drinks, probably because it was so busy. They may need to hire more staff to handle the onslaught of customers, I guess :) Anyway, eventually we were seated in a booth, and the dinner commenced! Our server was nice but was pretty absent throughout our meal, which was a little frustrating. The beer menu had an OK selection, although time for a little rant: I was a little confused by the "By the handle" and "By the neck" categorizations. Of course I kind of intuitively knew this meant draft and bottled beer, but "by the handle" is such a weird way of describing draft beer to me, since you have handles of liquor, etc. My wife pointed out that the "handle" in this case was referring to the handle used to pour the draft beer, in case anyone else didn't immediately get it :) The complimentary bread and butter was pretty decent, so we were off to a good start food-wise. I ordered a "small" Caesar as an appetizer and then got a burger and fries for my entree, while my wife also got the Caesar and the garlic sirloin with mashed potatoes as her entree. I put "small" in quotes because it was actually pretty darn big. I chose not to finish it since I wanted to save room for my entree :) It wasn't bad, though. Eventually (things were slow!), our entrees arrived. My burger and fries were OK, but the fries were unfortunately lukewarm. My wife didn't like her steak because of the intense "smoky" flavor, and it was also supposed to be garlicky, and it definitely wasn't :) I took a bite! The mashed potatoes were decent. Overall, the downsides outweighed the positives for me at Firebirds. I can't imagine coming back here, but if a friend really wanted to hit it up, I wouldn't complain too much :) read more

Came to this location for a book club meetup. The thing that stuck out the most was the service. We had 6 people, not a huge party, but enough. But the service was beyondddddd slow. It seemed like everyone around us was getting their food before us who had ordered after us. There were some mistakes with drinks, a few of us ordered the Hail Mary's and received regular bloody Mary's instead. That led to needing the charge to be adjusted once the bill came. Some girls did not want to order a second round of drinks because they felt like it would take too long. Now the food was actually very delicious, so it sucks that the service was pretty bad. This place is a complete let down and it was my first and last time going here. Beware of extremely slow service and subpar food. I ordered a cheddar burger with steak seasoned fries except I swapped beef patty for crispy chicken. And I used UberEats app, but not for delivery, just for pickup. The app showed an estimate of 25 minutes. So wanting to pick up my burger at around 1:30pm for my lunch break, I placed an order a couple minutes after 1pm. I arrived exactly after 30 minutes of placing my order. It was Sunday, the place looked moderately busy but not crazy busy -- there were plenty of tables available and no one was waiting to be seated. Anyway, hostess checked on my order and said it'll be just a few minutes they are wrapping up with the burger. 10 minutes go by, 15 minutes, nothing. She checks again -- "they're almost done, sorry about the wait!". Another 15 minutes goes by and they finally bring out my order, an hour after I placed it, with original estimate of 25 minutes; so 35 minutes late. I take my order and leave the establishment, settle down at a table at the mall maybe 5 minutes later, if that. Fries are all soggy and lukewarm. You can tell they were sitting around for a hot minute. I did not see or taste any kind of seasoning on the fries, it was just plain salt. Burger... on the menu it says it comes with lettuce, tomato, red onion. Mine had none of that. It was dry bun, dry crispy chicken (chicken looked freshly cooked so I suppose hostess was not lying that they were working on a burger, I bet those fries were sitting in that container for at least 40 minutes), and a slice of cheese. Burger was extremely dry, unpleasant to eat, I couldn't finish it. Fries, again, were soggy; and again I opened container and started eating it in less than 5 minutes so it's not like it was me who kept it there for long. Bottom line, save yourself a hassle and dine elsewhere. Southpoint has plenty of other options. read more

I did hear the people behind us walked in and there was an hour and a half wait. I would suggest making reservations. Our server Mitchell was extremely nice, we started off with the chimichurri shrimp as an appetizer. I ordered the ribeye medium and sides of broccoli and baked potato. The steak does only come with one side but I opted for two. The steak was seasoned well, but I did feel it was cooked medium well. The only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars vs 5 is because a table booth in the corner had left their card, a gentleman picked up the check looked outside both doors and then handed it to another person up front. Instead of them putting the card away they held on to the card looked at it front and back and while she had the back turned the gentleman was writing in his guest book and left. The girl then pocketed the card. I didn't see either one of them give it to anyone else. But if you were a family or 4 with 2 young girls sat at a booth and you had an Amex card that might have been used after today. It was probably them. Also this guy was not associated with this table and neither was the girl. Both were younger, and slim. The girl had braids in a ponytail and glasses. She had a white or grey shirt on. Guy was in all black. I wouldn't trust them with my stuff just seeing that interaction. But on to my review: First time here. Had a reservation, was able to get seated immediately. Service was amazing, very friendly waitress. Cocktails were good, Philly egg rolls were good. Not something you'd expect from here but it's 2 egg rolls cut in half for $19 (expensive) not worth the price. But we're flavor wise good. Just not worth the price. Salmon and shrimp were good sauce flavorful, brocolli was crispy yet soft. Can't state the same for the rice, it was undercooked and dry. Not a fan. Parmesan mashed potatoes were good but they are dense. Caesar salads good. Chicken good. Crème brûlée cheesecake way by far the greatest thing to eat. My salad was plentiful and pretty good, but I did have one complaint: some of the chicken was rubbery and inedible. He took it back and returned the meal saying there was no dairy and it was OK. I ate part of it and felt queasy so stopped. One evening after work, I decided to stop in before going home. It was a Friday night, so the place was busy, but it was between traditional dinner time and the after movie crowd. Got a table immediately. Louis came by and brought menus and introduced himself. He noted I was looking at the drinks specials table card and offered their full drinks menu. It's got all the basics and then some. I decided on the Zesty Squeeze, which reminded me of my first girlfriend. Not really. But it was a nice combination of tangerine vodka, grilled and pressed orange, and hot honey. I have only in the last few years become acquainted with hot honey, and was excited to try it in a cocktail. I liked it so much I had a second midway through the meal. It's similar to a screwdriver, but the tangerine notes and the peppery aftertaste of the honey add quite a zing. I'll spend time trying to make my own version of this! Now that the important stuff was decided, I took a look at the food menu. Wow! You can go from a humble burger or salad to a really loaded surf and turf combination. I was hungry but not 10 ounce-steak-hungry, and really wanted something from the seafood category. I chose the Baja Shrimp Pasta, which the menu describes as "Seared large shrimp, vegetables, fettucine, goat cheese, fresh basil, bold cream sauce." It was as described. The shrimp was not only plentiful, but it was a good size and seared to a nice crustiness before being mixed in with the pasta, veggies and spices. The fine-diced tomatoes and peppers were really special - it was almost like a pico de gallo, rather than larger chunks that are often served in this type dish. The spices in the sauce were perfect as well. I kept trying to save some for tomorrow's lunch, but what made it into the takeaway box was barely enough for a mid-morning break. Still spicy good, though. I'll need to come back when I have more time, a larger appetite, and maybe some other folks to share bites with. Why the missing star? As tasty as the drink was, it was too small for what it cost. I'm aware that the trend is toward smaller drinks, and I am firmly against this. I want to bring back the good ol' days of two-for-one full-sized drinks at happy hour, not "Let's make you pay twice for what should have been in the first drink." The service and food all tasted great, but this one thing made the experience a little less fun. read more

We came on a Wednesday evening and though I wasn't in a rush, it took a solid 10 minutes to get a table despite being the only one in line. Ordered pickup from here for the first time. I have been to Firebirds in other locations before, just never this one. The pickup process is a little strange if you order curbside because there are no designated curbside spots like the other restaurants next to it have. So I circled a lot trying to find a spot and couldn't really park on the curbside next to the restaurant because you kind of end up blocking everything. I ended up just finding a parking spot and going inside to pick up the order. Despite that, the food was packaged very well in separate containers. I ordered the Chilean sea bass with broccoli, and the lemon cake and the lobster and spinach dip. the sea bass was phenomenal. The dip was also very good and I loved the lemon cake, especially with the blueberries! I will definitely be back, just maybe in person next time. read more

We just had lunch at Firebirds, the South Point location. It was a terrible experience. We were the second table of the day to be seated. We all ordered from the Pairs section of the menu. It took them over an hour to serve our food. Other diners, who came in after us, were already being served their food before ours arrived. My Loaded Potato was under cooked and barely warm. My husband's smashburger was barely warm. This was very disappointing as Firebirds used to be one of our favorite go-to places but their quality has really gone downhill. When my friend's food finally came there was no avocado in the avocado toast. They did offer to take it back but since we had already been waiting for so long we didn't want to wait.
