To start a dough master ( I made that up) is kneading the dought and shaping it when u walk in . It's cool to see. Pick ur sauce marinara , pesto, or garlic . They spread the sauce then it goes to the topping line. Lots fresh toppings . Meat, veggies I think I even saw tofu. You can pick a house made pizza choice or choose ur own. THIS WAS THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!! Not only was the taste of my pizza delicious but the service was very fast, only 10ish minutes. You can build-your-own pizza or they have pre thought of ideas. It's very reasonably priced and honestly really good pizza! I went to Firecrust on opening night with high expectation because I had heard a lot about it, and it did not disappoint!!!! This place makes decent pizza. Is not a fancy place nor a particularly authentic pizza, but is made fresh and tastes good.

***Beware - vegan cheese is made with cashews. *** There is no label of this on the menu. My son has both a dairy and nut allergy, and while I am usually diligent about asking for ingredients, I slipped and just assumed it was a soy-based vegan cheese. Needless to say, after 1 bite, my son complained of an itchy throat, huge lump and threw up. I had also mentioned to the cashier that my son had a nut allergy but nowhere in the restaurant did it say what the ingredients of the cheese. They were nice to refund the pizza. However, better labeling is appreciated! Except for the traumatic experience with my son, the pizza seemed fine for the rest of my family, although the sausage was too spicy for my daughter( which also would have been nice to know). read more

The first time I tried Firecrust was via delivery. I was so pleased with the pizza (seriously, it's just like Italy!) that I wandered down to the actual restaurant with my husband to eat in-house. When we stepped inside, the guy taking orders was busy stretching some fresh dough, so he acknowledged us and let us know he'd be with us in a minute. After we placed our order with him, we went down to the cash register to pay, and were met with a friendly gentleman who rang us up. To me, customer service is everything--I can handle mediocre food, I can handle and understand when a place gets busy, etc., but I cannot stand when the people whose job it is to provide customer service are unwelcoming, cold or attitude-y--and luckily the people here were friendly. The pizza itself was lovely: lots of sauce, delicious crust, and authentic-tasting. I do highly recommend Firecrust. read more

We were excited to go back to Firecrust as we were there 4 years ago and visited it then. We are from Calgary and was in Vancouver for a few days. We were very disappointed from the minute we walked in the door. We barely had the door closed behind us and the guy behind the line jumped down our throat as to what we wanted. We didn't even have a chance to look at their offerings. No smile, no welcome to our business. Just what do you want. We ordered a prosciutto and arugula pizza there was like 4 very small pieces of prosciutto and NO CHEESE to be found. Awful! The 10.00 Caesar salad came with the tiniest tub of dressing that didn't even cover 1/4 of the salad , when we asked for more they wanted to charge 1.00 and by the way you have to dress the salad yourself. None of the staff members were friendly. Looked like everyone who worked there was very unhappy in their jobs. I wonder what management is like , it usually trickles from the top. I really like the place. It is not expensive and the food is really good. There is not a ton of choice of pizza but there is definitively enough to enjoy a real crusty pizza made in front of you in there open oven. The staff is also very friendly and do not get stressed by these dozen of people who do not know what they want as they are ordering. It is still new so it would need some time to be organised but there is for sure a big added value to have a place like that compare to all the chains around. I would also suggest the pizza calzone nutella and the soup which are very worth to try. Buon apetito! read more

We were staying at a hotel around the corner and wanted a light, quick meal so we picked pizza. I googled pizza in the area, found Firecrust, called to order a 6" pepperoni and mushroom, walked around the corner and picked up our pizza. It was still hot when I got back up to our room. It's was my first time there. I work 2 blocks away so I was exited to have "the best pizza in town " nearby. Some of the worst pizza I've ever had.. long story short I asked Twice for them not to but salad and dressing on my Cali club pizza. They served me the pizza with the salad and dressing ... twice. They offered me a new pizza but by now I was running out of Lunch break time and just asked them to take the salad off. They did then put near frozen cherry tomatoes on it.. the pizza was a warm / cold soggy mess which I ate reluctantly. I paid and left. Like no other pizza I have ever had. The crust is the optimal thiness yet not too thin (good dough to toppings ratio). The portions are generous. Great positive staff. Ordered 15 pizzas, 2 salads and a pizza/ salad combo for a business lunch. $300 order. Firecrust arrange their delivery via Skip The Dishes. I would imagine it makes sense that flavour is enhanced by having hot pizza. We couldn't really tell because only 2 of the pizzas arrived hot. The remainder were about 50/50 lukewarm or plain cold. The drive was only 6-7 minutes so no excuse there. And none were labeled other than the salads. Mine was one of the lukewarm ones and what I could taste of it seemed pretty good. Would I order again? Probably give it a second chance if I'm eating at the restaurant. For delivery? Not a chance. read more

I tried the Sicilian pizza and Caprese salad combo for $10.95 and I was impressed by the quality and taste at such an affordable price. I will definitely be going back for lunch and trying their other pizzas. The staff were also friendly, which made the adventure quite rewarding on so many foodie levels, LOL. Come on people just try it. They have gluten free options that are killer, building your own pizza Subway style but with damn fresh ingredients. You can mix sauces, you can add pretty much anything on to the pizza for dirt cheap. There are a couple premium ingredients for an extra charge but they definitely load up so it's not a skimpy deal! They seem to have a bit of a following so maybe it's just me? I hope they do well but first impressions are paramount to return visits / repeat customers. We had the Sicilian pizza with red and green bell peppers, mushroom, carmelized onion, and sun dried tomato, with a Caesar salad. I enjoyed the thin crust and fresh yummy vegetables. I loved the outdoor seating so close to the street to soak in the downtown view and ambience. Good service too, helpful giving us the most popular choices and letting us order, also very kind offering us suggestions for our first visit to Vancouver. 28-11-2016 UPDATE I gave it another try last week. I'll keep this short: This place is still a mess. Employees running around, getting in the way of each other. I asked for my pizza to be crispy, well done, to see if that was the problem. I asked it directly to who I understand is the manager, and she didn't even mentioned it to the guy running the oven. The pizza they serve here is an offense to real Neapolitan Pizza. Again, I'm really sad about this place. Now, after reading some of the other reviews here, I would say you can really tell which ones were posted by the owners and/or employees being paid to post :/ I'm sure that the other real customers here and I would gladly leave you a 5 star review if your pizzeria was a 5 star restaurant. Original Review: Really sad about this one. I was hoping for it to be so much better. They have the structure, the place is clean and tidy-looking. Firecrust is being described as "a subway for pizza" around here, but in a good sense. Quick and easy but with good ingredients quality and not overpriced. However, that wasn't what I experienced at all. It seems that the employees are not very sure of what they're doing. There's a LOT of employees walking around everywhere and I was under the impression that they all seemed to be getting lost in the orders (specially the guys by the oven). So let's talk about the experience. It took me about 10 minutes to get from the part where you build your pizza, subway style, to the part where you pay for it. Nothing wrong there, it was a little busy (about 8 people in front of me), so it was OK to wait. I must say I was surprised by how little toppings they put on your pizza if you order from the menu (even places like Domino's put more meat/cheese/others in their pizzas). After that, I had to wait around 10 more minutes for it to go in the oven (there was a bunch of pizzas to go in before mine, I guess?). I was in a small group of 4, and while waiting we could clearly see that the employees are not very organized. I don't think whoever designed this place thought about the oven area very well, and this should be the most important aspect on this type of place in my opinion. Anyway, after waiting a lot, we got our pizzas. We walked back to the office, about 5 minutes, so I was really hungry at this point. I'm only saying this because usually I don't get very picky when hungry, but - oh boy - this pizza was sad. Small, sad, and more importantly UNDER COOKED. Never, ever, serve under cooked pizza. It made me wonder if the oven was even hot. Anyway, I hope they fix things. Me and my friends had high hopes for this place, since we all live and work nearby. Please fix the portion size as the other commenter said, and please turn this into a good pizza place. Right now, there's no reason whatsoever to go there. So I am a pizza snob and have had the real deal Napolitalian pizza having lived in Italy. This is not the real deal but it's as close as you are going to get in Vancouver and the quality of the ingredients at this price point is very very impressive ( you can pretty much build a pizza with unlimited high quality ingredients for 11 bucks). Already addicted to this place as it's very close to where I live and so convenient so really hope they can get a good enough following to stay open for a long time. read more
