We LOVE this place. We've been coming for years. The place has changed, but only for the better - outdoor dining in the warm weather - newly renovated bar area - clean - all safety measures complied with for COVID-19 restrictions. We felt absolutely cared for from the minute we pulled into the parking lot. You are directed by cones and signs on how and where to park your car (lots of snow to navigate, too). Because it was SuperBowl LV weekend, there were plenty of take-out customers in line in their cars, too. Friendly staff - outgoing, making great suggestions. We had Jerry as our waiter. He was good. Perhaps, too good! He talked us into the pastrami ribs, but by the time we were ready to order, they were all gone! How's that for sales (not his fault; just a joke)! Anyway, the owner, Steve, came by two times to see how we were and how we liked our dinners. Now, that's great service. As for our food, we ALWAYS get the jumbo, smoked BBQ wings (not the 5 count - the 10 count!). Those babies came home with us (for the game, of course). We got ribs. We got corn bread. Great sides. Lots of take home tonight because their portions are huge. So, if you are thinking about Sunday BBQ and there's too much snow outside to get to your grill, call this place and go pick it up. I was dying for BBQ and I met my buddy 1/2 way here in Marlboro at this great BBQ JOINT. I placed my order and it was delivered to my car and CC machine in hand and so fast and easy. I thanked Bianca for working and I also asked for extra North Carolina sauce and she said no problem. She rushed it over and again made this place even more amazin. The brisket was thick and juicy and the top had some rub on it but did NOT overpower the meat at all. So much brisket and then to find white bread under catching all the goodness ...... The collard greens have got a kick to them and fresh and plentiful Now the mashed potato and gravy I ate with a spoon. It was so delicious and hardy and the gravy is lumpy and home made. Not the cleanest place but bbq food is ok! I recommend sticking with Mac and cheese! And better to do catering then eating in.

Let's start with their well organized response to the pandemic by ensuring that we practice safe social distancing. ***** From the moment we entered the parking lot the staff gave us excellent customer service.! Our server was Jamie & he gave us World Class Customers Service!! The owner even came to our table and was a joy to talk to! The food was better than we expected! We tried the 4 meat combo -Ribs, Pulled Pork, Fried Chicken & Brisket. Mac & Cheese & Baked beans complimented the meat selections well. The cornbread was the best I've had!! Finally because we were celebrating a birthday we were surprised with in-house made Red Velvet Cake. It was moist, warm and fresh. You MUST TRY IT!! I can't say enough good things about this place, and I will definitely make this a regular stop when I'm visiting the area. I will start this review with the food was good when it finally arrived. However, I placed a take out order at 8.35 via the Firefly's website. When I went to pick it up at 9.22Pm I was told that the order was scheduled for 9am the following morning. Really - a simple call to the customer would rectify that. On the order confirmation I received from the website (Toast) it clearly states d today at 9.22pm. No apology was given , just an excuse that "this happens" when you use Grubhub or other apps. This wasn't a 3rd party, it was your own website. Having to wait for 15 minutes for food to be cooked without an apology was poor customer service. Failing to own your error and "make it right" is just poor management and customer service. First time ordering Takeout from Firefly's. Poor experience. We had not been here in years glad we went back. We ordered the Steak Tip platter and the Pulled Chicken platter both were very good with nice size portions. We also got an order of Burnt Ends ( Fantastic!) & a side Garden Salad. Everything was delicious! Only drawback is its very pricey Good for an occasional visit . read more

My hub and I stopped in for the first time this evening for our Valentine's Day dinner. My sis gave us a Phantom Gourmet giftcard for Christmas, which we were originally gonna do seafood or Italian. But, I saw that they featured this place on the program for PG, and everything looked great. So, right away, I had to look up and see if this place took PG giftcards, and sure enough, they do. And, might I add, I am quite glad we used it to go here! So, we go in, and get seated. They did get our drinks wrong, not a huge deal. Hub ordered a Coke, I ordered a Bud Light and an Ice Water, they gave us 2 soda waters with lime and a Bud Light. No biggie. We didn't bother sending it back because it wasn't so bad with lime and the hub likes soda water anyway. So whatever...lol. For an appetizer, we got the fried pickles. Very good. It came with like this horseradish sauce or whatever it was. The sauce wasn't even needed, the pickles were good on their own. For the entree, we ordered like the dinner for 4 with 3 meats and 2 sides (Yeah, okay...Our eyes were bigger than our bellies this evening. We both are on WW and this was a "cheat"). The Cornbread, OUT OF THIS FRIGGIN WORLD! Nice and glazed on top, nice and moist overall, fantastic! Pulled pork...excellent. The St. Louis Ribs...fantastic. BBQ Roast Chicken...awesome. And the sides which were the Baked Beans and the Mash and Gravy were really good too. I don't think there's really a bad thing we could say about the meal, other than it was too much, but I mean, come on!...Is that really all that terrible? Lmao! Usually our to-go place for great BBQ is 1 hour 1/2-2 hours away in Ossipee, NH, but if we're not up for the drive, we definitely know where to go from now on. If you've ever had BBQ from Texas or NC/VA, you will be disappointed. I was excited to try this place after reading all the rave reviews. Was in the area after going to a nearby orchard. The menu sounded delicious with so many options. But perhaps the vast menu should have been a sign that quality would be affected. Everything was average (and some below average such as their tough and chewy burnt ends). My partner and I had the brisket, pork, ribs, fried chicken, sweet potato pudding, Mac and cheese, and dirty rice/beans. Nothing stood out. All unremarkable. In fact, it tasted like cafeteria food. A solid cafeteria I suppose. If you're from Massachusetts, perhaps you will enjoy it more. But definitely overrated in my eyes. read more

Dined here for two reasons: We were extremely impressed by their barbecue at our friend's birthday function there and they took reservations for outdoor dining. Enjoyed sharing a full slab of baby back ribs with Memphis Sauce, a side of pulled pork and sides of SWEET POTATO PECAN PUDDIN' (THE BEST!) and collard greens. I don't know our server's name but he was most pleasant and helpful, guiding us through our options as well as preparing drinks at the bar. It's nice to find a barbecue place worth a 50 minute drive. Wow! Just WOW!!! I don't even know if I can express how unbelievably amazing this place is. Yesterday was the 2nd time here for me and I can say without a doubt that the food here is exceptional. I made the 39 mile drive from my house, and yes the food is so delicious the drive is worth it, and came here to eat. They open at 4:00 so I walk up to the entrance and the sign on the door says private party. I had a slight heart attack but then read the rest where it said they'll open to the public at 4:30. Whooo!! Thank God!! I walk in and sit at the bar and was waited on right away. Both bartenders were very nice and quick with service. Took me a while to decide what to get since everything on the menu looks delicious. I went with the Burnt Ends to start. They came out fast and piping hot. They had this horseradish cream sauce for dipping which was creamy and delicious although you don't really need it. The burnt ends on their own are amazing!! I also ordered the Waffle with fried chicken. It come with 2 sides. I chose the homemade potato chips and Mac n cheese. I never buy potato chips as I'm not a huge fan but these homemade ones were great. Mac n cheese was creamy and delicious. That chicken!! Whoa! I have never had better fried chicken in my entire life and I lived in the south for 6 years. Perfection!! Came with a side of maple syrup for the huge waffle. Of course I couldn't eat all this food at once. The serving size is incredible so I took a lot home and even heated up the rest of that amazing waffle for breakfast this morning. Previously I ordered the Texas BBQ sampler. Ribs, brisket, mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese and cornbread. Loved every single bite!! The owner/ chef was there and even came over to ask how everything was. He seems to have an awesome relationship with staff and customers. I think that's great and shows you how much he cares about how people enjoy themselves there and enjoy his food. Place is huge! Outside area for when it's warm. Pool tables. Music in the background that wasn't too loud or to soft. Bathrooms were wicked clean and had hooks on the door to hang your purse. The bar also had those hooks to hang your purse. Haven't visited in years and solidified why...I just don't like the way Massachusetts does bbq and this is a prime example of how Mass does bbq. It just ain't right...at all. Really enjoy eating here. We don't come often but are happy with our decision every time. Kids meals are perfect and include a drink and cookie, I really appreciate that there are lots of chicken options ( usually get the yardbird) and my husband likes all of the sandwiches ( pulled pork, brisket etc). This is as good as it gets when it comes to southern style barbecue, especially since I feel like authentic southern barbecue joints are somewhat limited in this area. The fact that they have a complimentary condiment bar with pickled veggies, barbecue sauces and hot sauces is awesome. If you want an appetizer, the burnt ends are amazing, they are fork tender, sweet and spicy. My boyfriend and I each ordered the pulled pork for our meals, but with different sided dishes. Keep in mind that the portions are big. I wasn't able to finish my meal, and neither was he, and he's a big eater. Nonetheless, it was still delicious. As a side note, they accept the Phantom Gourmet gift card, which we used when we came tonight since we were looking to try a new place that accepts it. We are visiting from Northern California and just had wonderfully delicious BBQ here with all the fixings. We had the brisket, baby back ribs, St Louis ribs and chicken with a great variety of sides. The portions are very generous. Our server Kat is an absolute delight, and it was great to meet Rob the GM. This place is a gem. The candied lacquered bacon is to die for - it is not to be missed.
