The food was great! The service was fantastic! The wait was over 1 hour is my only complaint.

You can make only ONE first impression, and while I really wanted it to be a good one, it wasn't. Firehouse Cafe has a unique sense of charm when you enter. As one of the other reviewers remarked, the service is not very good. Getting a refill on my tea appeared to be more of a nuisance to our waitress than anything else. Our kids wanted some bread before the meal, so that came rather quickly. One bite into that pre-fab white roll should have told me to leave now, and not wait. I quickly ejected it from my mouth into my napkin. It had a really awful taste -- kind of like...er...mold. At this point, I should have salvaged my health, and ran for the door. Finally, the food. I ordered the "special" -- the Fried Chicken, green beans, and mashed potatoes. Who can go wrong with that? I usually restrict my fried-foods to less than 1-2 times per month, but I thought I'd splurge a little. Still, the flavor of that bread was there. When my plate arrived, I had one piece of fried boneless breast meat on my plate. I was puzzled, but didn't put up an argument. Maybe my idea of "fried chicken" was different then theirs? Who knows? The first bite was greasy and tasteless. It just tasted like fried meat. No flavor whatsoever. I hate putting salt on my food, but I had no choice. Now...it tasted like salted fried meat. A couple more bites, and I was done with that. The green beans were good, but the potatoes too runny. Probably won't be back unless someone can convince me otherwise. Sorry. read more

Our favorite breakfast location in granbury! "The Amigos" is my go-to order and never disappoints.

Okay rolls and biscuits but the gravy is watery and hash browns are soggy. The service is reminiscent of 2019. Not all staff wear masks and there is no social distancing. There are no dividers between booths and they do not limit capacity. Customers are not required to wear masks and there is no hand sanitizer available at tables They also just wipe down tables with cloth and do not sanitize between customers. This is the absolutely best place for breakfast in Granbury! Come early to avoid the crowd. Food portions are double the size of most breakfast places. The biscuits and gravy are wonderful! The biscuits are completely homemade and bigger than my fist! Pancakes are enormous and delicious! Service is fast and very friendly. I can't say enough great things about this place! read more

Ordered 1 pancake and it covered the whole plate! I'd rate the taste a 7.5 out of 10. The crispy bacon had a little too much fat but was tasty. The wait and cleaning staff were very friendly. I'll be back. read more

The smoky bacon is great and the hash browns have the right amount of butter... I don't know why we took so long to give this place a try! It's SO good. Great Chicken Fried Steak and the French fries are handcut. It does get pretty crowded during peak times and there's sometimes a wait for a table but they turn over quickly and the service is fast and friendly. Definitely recommend. read more

We stopped in here after doing a job. Oh my gosh! I'm so glad we did! This was by far the best breakfast we have had at a restaurant in a long time. If you want a good old fashioned diner breakfast, this is the place to go! We love Firehouse for their huge biscuits and fluffy pancakes. The waiters and waitresses are always very kind and have a smile on their face. They are very reasonably priced and we have never had any issues with their food or service. One of the BEST cinnamon rolls I have found in texas. They gigantic and cover in warm melted buttermilk frosting. The dough is soft and yeasty. By the time we arrived they were all out of cinnamon rolls :( However, the owner Angela was kind enough to make us one. It was very impressive that she took the extra time and energy to accomodate our request. read more

Atmosphere is typical cafe style. We had lunch special which was Turkey and dressing and green beans for me and hubs had Beef tips and rice with steamed cabbage. It was ok, nothing special. The green beans were too stringy. The people next to us ordered breakfast food and it looked much better to us. Next visit we will have breakfast. Tried this place for a late breakfast on Saturday. They had us wait outside (it was hot!). They took our drink orders and we waited 35 minutes for our food. I sat and observed THREE people in the kitchen cooking for the whole place. When the food came, my breakfast taco was wrong and my husbands food was cold. We paid for the drinks and left.
