So I have to say there's a big different between the words diner and cafe. This place is a diner. When you walk in its checkered floors and bright colors. The bar up front, the booth chairs? Yeah it's a diner. I think they say cafe so it brings more people in. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was actually really good. I got a French toast platter and my date ordered home fries and bacon. Everything was pretty good but my French toast tasted like it wasn't dipped. The food is always great in this place. The reason for my 3 star review is for their lack of communication. I checked out their menu on Yelp and ordered one of their "Weekday Breakfast Special" upon pickup of my order the price is nowhere near what it had on the menu. When I question the waitress she tells me that due to the pandemic they stopped offering breakfast specials. I mean, I get they might be struggling but shit so are we!Hence why we're ordering a "Breakfast Special" It would be nice for them to let you know upon ordering that they're not offering the specials anymore instead of letting me know when I'm picking up my food and expecting a smaller check! Blink and you'll miss it. You may miss it if you are looking for it but turn around because it's worth it. Just a little cafe that has really good breakfast. I can't stand most corporate restaurants. Food is always bland, over priced and staff may be pleasant but they don't give a rats ass really. Go to a place like this and they appreciate the business and it shows. Finally decided to try this place after driving by it often, checked it out on a Saturday and loved it so much almost went back the next day. No pics to share, but I had the breakfast burrito with sausage (very tasty) that came with a side of the freshest assorted fruit. My friend got a bacon cheeseburger and seasoned fries. Burger was huge and the seasoned fries are DELICIOUS, cooked just right! We now know to always get seasoned fries every time...they are that good. Service is friendly and excellent, everyone helps each other out and will check on you often. Their prices are excellent too! Boyfriend and I have driven by this place a million times and finally decided to come in. He got the big breakfast burrito with a side of fruit and I got the country omelet with home fries. Everything was so delicious and the price is really reasonable, especially since all the ingredients tasted so fresh, I was jealous of his fruit, it looked so delicious! Here's my thing about breakfast places... The true test is always the eggs Benedict. Is the egg going to be poached? Is It Real Canadian bacon? Is the English muffin toasted correctly? Is the hollandaise sauce real or from a package? Firehouse Cafe did not disappoint. The eggs were poached perfectly. It is Real Canadian bacon. English muffin was toasted perfectly with Crispy edges. And the Hollandaise sauce is real! They have three different versions of eggs benedict here, I opted for the traditional version. It did not disappoint! It also comes with a side of either Homestyle fries or hash browns. My other test is to see when I request well-done Homestyle fries or hash browns, if they are actually well done. Homestyle fries were well done nice and crispy fluffy in the middle cooked perfectly. My boyfriend got the same traditional eggs benedict, but he opted for well done hash browns, and they were cooked well done. Crispy on both sides and not soggy in the middle, like most places will cook them. Also the coffee here is fantastic! Pricing is very reasonable, service is very good. Owner herself comes around to check on tables. We will definitely be back, since eggs benedict is my favorite. read more

Every time I've come in, I've gotten my food to go. I generally have to wait between 3-5 minutes to even be acknowledged or offered a menu. After ordering, the food generally takes about 15-20minutes to come out. I always order the turkey sausage and eggs (comes with home fries and toast). Fluffy Croissant Breakfast Sandwich, John Denver Omelette, and the best Belgian Waffle I've had in a long time. Oh and the Huevos Rancheros- delicioso! The coffee wasn't hot enough and tasted like it was from old coffee grounds. The water was from the faucet. Straight up. After looking over the menu I asked for jalapeño poppers and the waitress told me that she wasn't sure if they had them since they got new owners 2 months ago. So why isn't the menu updated???? Makes no sense. We had sat next to the refrigerator in the back. Not the cleanest. They had dirty bottles of syrups. And their syrups were from Ralphs. I had about 45 minutes to grab breakfast and as I was trying to decide where to go I drove past the Firehouse Cafe. I had been by it a bunch of times and and decided to give it a try. It was about 9:00 on a weekday so it was not too crowded and I took my seat in one of the booths by the window. This being a cafe in a strip mall off of a busy street I did not expect anything spectacular from the decor but at first glance you can tell that the very bare minimum has been invested on the interior of this restaurant. All of this would be fine if the food stood out but I don't think I am exaggerating when i say that the food pretty much matched the decor. I ordered my standard - ham and eggs with homestyle potatoes and sourdough toast. The eggs and ham were totally lacking in flavor. The potatoes were plain and not dressed with onions, or peppers and the toast could best be described as not even coming close to sour dough. The only reason I gave the firehouse cafe a second star is because the service was very friendly and the coffee was pretty good. But other than that I probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

I come here probably once a week to get my low carb breakfast/brunch fix. I've eaten here with friends a couple times, but usually pick up my food to go. I've tried so many breakfast items! Pastrami & eggs scramble, pork chops & eggs, bacon & eggs, chicken fried steak, chili n cheese omelette, burger patty & eggs, avocado bacon n cheese (ABC) omelette.. you name it, if it has eggs, I've probably tried it! (I love eggs!) The food isn't the BEST I've ever had, but it's not bad! Most of the food is cooked well, I've sometimes had dry porkchops/burger patties, but it is definitely better than Denny's! The storefront is unassuming and the cafe/grill is located in a business park, but inside it's quaint and home-y, with firehouse memorabilia decorating the walls. We were greeted immediately, coffee and water served pretty much right as we sat down. We ordered a spinach and cheese omelette with a bowl of fruit (freshly cut, and not pre-sliced cubes is a plus!) an english muffin and a short stack. All good!
