While I was a subpar barista, I walked away from the job with high standards for my coffee My drink: I ordered a 3 shot espresso (one shot caf and two shots decaf) with some steamed half-and-half and 1/4 pump of vanilla. Not only did it taste like their decaf espresso was very high quality, they pulled delicious shots. I loved it so much, I visited 4 times in the 3 days we were in Prescott! Inside the Old Capital Market. This is a great place to stop in and have a coffee or tea or snack while you are walking around Downtown Prescott. The coffee is very good. The owners do their own roasting at a facility here in Prescott. The seating is standard hard table and chairs, so it doesn't have the sit-around-and-hang-out vibe of say, Wild Iris or Cuppers or The Porch or Ms. Naturals, but is is pleasant and comfortable. For me it is not a destination coffee place, but it is extremely convenient and easy to get in and out of, if you're already nearby. read more

This was an unexpected find right on Courthouse Square in downtown Prescott. It's a tiny coffee shop inside of Old Capital Market - only 3 tables and a long counter on the right side as you enter. But the coffee was very good (locally roasted, fair trade, friendly barista), and although I didn't have anything to eat there seemed to be a wide selection of pastries & ice cream. read more

Great coffee. I just had the mild roast brewed coffee, but it was delicious! I came for the cinnamon roll advertised on the street board, it was good. I was surprised when they served it room temp. There is a microwave on the condiment bar to warm it yourself, which is cool. Great location and fun atmosphere. Barista runs the show by herself, and is super friendly. My wife and I are both veterans using our GI Bill to go to school. We try to give our business to small coffee shops when we go out to study, so we've been going to Firehouse over the last couple months. I really wanted to love this place, but the verdict is in: go somewhere else. Coffee: the only semi-high point. Their lighter roasts are decent, but their dark roast is sooo bitter. It's expensive, $15 for a pound bag. Food: Trash. Stale and expensive. When your pastries are two days old, you make them a bargain and get them outta there. I've had cupcakes that were AT LEAST a week old, and they're almost four bucks... Ambience: Unfriendly and uncomfortable. There are some plugs and wifi that's hard to find and rarely works well enough to use, but there IS an hour limit on that wifi we didn't know about until today (its not posted anywhere) when the manager sent a barista to tell us to buy something else or get out. We had purchased over 20 dollars of coffee beans and coffee that day, but the barista informed us you have to make a separate purchase once every hour if you want to stay there. We were there for about four hours quietly doing homework. There was never an instant where all the tables in the shop were filled. Bottom line: Give them your money and get the hell out. I love small businesses, but we'll be headed to Starbucks for the rest of this semester. Such a shame. read more

We popped in this little collection of merchants and found this little gem of a shop! It was afternoon so we opted for a selection (read: gobs!) of candy, and wow it was delish! Coconut macadamia nut cluster was our favorite, but the toffee was a close second. In any other company, the pecan cluster and maple bacon fudge would take the crown...so net-net, you can't go wrong! read more

BAD MANAGEMENT. Went there at 9:30am on a Wednesday for coffee and pastry. Including me, there were three people waiting in line, but the lady working there was on the phone and appeared to have no intention of finishing her call anytime soon. After several minutes of receiving no acknowledgment, and very obvious we were not valued customers, I left. Never to return - bad experience when there are plenty of other choices. Next time you have several paying customers literally lined up to make purchases, you should at least acknowledge their existence. I doubt the person at the other end of the phone was helping to support your business. read more

Love their organic dark roast coffee! Ironically, we found their coffee perusing Sam's Club while we were getting our flat tire replaced. So when we came upon it in downtown Prescott, we had to have some! I would give the coffee 5 stars, but the service was meh. My hubby asked about the coffee and how long ago it was roasted and they didn't have the answer. Most artisan coffee places know exactly what they have on hand. They didn't seem to care either. Another plus is their Jun Kombucha on tap...yum! Refreshing on a hot day. We'll go back again for sure and hopefully the employees would be much more in the know about their products. read more

The coffee was good, I own a coffee shop so I am very fussy about my coffee, the young lady waiting on us was horrible. No interaction, no smile. When my sister made a comment about the creamer being in an odd place, it's where you pick up the coffee yet all the other condiments, lids and stirrers aren't even near there, she made a snide remark to her. I figured it was there so she wouldn't have to walk all the way around the shop to where all the other condiments were, which she could of explained to my sister....but no. Can't say enough good about this place! The ambiance is friendly and clean, the help staff is lovely, the dark coffee is not bitter at all in an awesome location too. I actually bought one of their reasonably priced coffee bag of roasted beans and sent it to my little brother in Boston who is an engineer, professional drummer and coffee connoisseur and he was extremely happy with the balance of their bean! My husband wanted a specialty coffee they did not offer on their menu and the beautiful, young barista behind the counter nailed it -- exactly what he asked for! That was impressive! Whomever hired that staff should be commended. BTW.. the bear claws are to die for and soooo much less expensive than Starbucks. And as a bonus, it is located inside the Spice Traveler store which always carries elegant and tasty items for sale at reasonable prices for downtown Prescott! read more

This place has amazing coffee, but this is Not a coffee house that you want to sit down at and leisurely enjoy a cup of coffee and maybe do some work on the computer. After buying a bag of coffee and a large coffee (so about $20) when I arrived about 3 hours earlier, I was told by an employee that her uncomfrontational Manger wanted me to leave because the WiFi was limited to and hour and that if I wanted to stay I had to make another purchase. I wasn't even using thier WiFi because it was so slow. I had to connect to my phones hotspot. She also came up to me and told me this once I was all packed up and ready to leave. She couldn't have just let me take another minute to leave. She had to ruin the good impression I has of the company. Go to Wild Iris if you want a local coffee house that is a comfortable place to take your time enjoying the place, not get kicked out as a paying customer. Small businesses wonder why Starbucks is so popular.... It's because they don't kick paying customers out. They encourage customers to stay and get refills and enjoy the ambiance. read more
