There's also a small outdoor area with a few tables and bar stools if you need some fresh air. Behind the bar is the actual night club area with the DJ booth, several VIP tables, and a smaller bar. There isn't a dedicated dance floor so people are just dancing wherever there's space. You can get on the guest list through their website for free bar/club entry before 10pm. After 10pm, there is a cover fee of $20 per person. It was quiet around 930pm when we arrived but it got pretty busy by 1030pm and crowded by 1130pm. Note: the back night club area opens at 11pm. If you come before then, only the front bar area is open. They apparently serve food as well but we didn't try it this time. I felt service was great from the bartenders to security to the servers. The DJ was playing awesome hip hop music which was perfect for the vibe. They even have a professional photographer who takes your photo. If you like it, it's $20 for your picture in a frame. Two things that can make it even better: - wish there was a bigger dance floor for those without tables to enjoy the music and dance - wish there was more than 2 bathroom stalls in the women's restroom. With hundreds of people inside, the line can get pretty long.

This was my first time visiting any of the bars in Encinitas, and my friend had recommended this place, so I was really excited to check it out. The line was out the door probably due to Halloween, and the cover was $20, which is on the pricier side. I'm not sure how busy it gets on a regular weekend, but it was definitely packed when we arrived. The space itself was great, with good music, lots of people dancing, and a lively crowd overall. I really enjoyed my experience and would definitely consider coming back on another weekend.

I was lucky to be suggested GNJB as a venue option for a corporate event I was putting together. Not only was it super easy to get in touch with Rick, he made planning this event so seamless. Rick was always available to chat, quick to respond and was able to answer any/all questions I had. His suggestions were always helpful and appreciated. Belinda was also such a pleasure to work with. She was always accommodating to our needs and requests. Her team delivered the best service for our guests - from the security (shout out Sebastian) to the bartenders. What a dream team! We were looking for a fun evening to bring in the Christmas spirit post Thanksgiving and I saw this advertised concert on the website that I thought our daughter would really enjoy. I went ahead and purchased our tickets which were very reasonable for a show. I love that Belly Up has its own website so people can still afford to attend their shows. We saw Grammy nominated and Father of Contemporary Jazz David Benoit perform all the Peanuts Christmas songs from A Charlie Brown Christmas. WOW! What a terrific show! We sat on the main floor right up close to the stage and we all had such a good time especially our daughter as it was a surprise show for her. The layout is perfect with lots of open space, a bar area, dance floor and a second level. It is quite large inside but you cannot see that from the outside. Acoustics are perfect and David Benoit is still the master of the piano. He had a guest vocalist Courtney Fortune which added to the evening performance. Parking is about the only challenge so we made sure to arrive extra early and grabbed a spot right out front. Also parking was free! I definitely recommend this venue for good service and great music.
