There isn't a dedicated dance floor so people are just dancing wherever there's space. You can get on the guest list through their website for free bar/club entry before 10pm. After 10pm, there is a cover fee of $20 per person. It was quiet around 930pm when we arrived but it got pretty busy by 1030pm and crowded by 1130pm. Note: the back night club area opens at 11pm. If you come before then, only the front bar area is open. They apparently serve food as well but we didn't try it this time. I felt service was great from the bartenders to security to the servers. The DJ was playing awesome hip hop music which was perfect for the vibe. They even have a professional photographer who takes your photo. If you like it, it's $20 for your picture in a frame. Two things that can make it even better: - wish there was a bigger dance floor for those without tables to enjoy the music and dance - wish there was more than 2 bathroom stalls in the women's restroom. The old fashioned was overly sweet, which is common, but the maraschino cherry and orange wedge made it even sweeter. They appear to have a full bar, so I expected a more balanced drink. I didn't order a second. The bigger issue was the truffle fries. They tasted like standard salted fries. When I asked, the server explained they use a truffle seasoning added to salt. I requested extra seasoning, but I still couldn't detect any truffle flavor. Essentially, they were regular fries with a $2 upcharge. When asked the waiter admitted he has never had truffle fries elsewhere. My guess is neither has the owner or chef. To their credit, the waiter and management removed the fries from the check, which I appreciated. I didn't try any entrees, so I can't comment on the full menu. If you're looking for a busy, noisy weekend spot with music, this could be a good fit.

I went ahead and purchased our tickets which were very reasonable for a show. I love that Belly Up has its own website so people can still afford to attend their shows. We saw Grammy nominated and Father of Contemporary Jazz David Benoit perform all the Peanuts Christmas songs from A Charlie Brown Christmas. WOW! What a terrific show! We sat on the main floor right up close to the stage and we all had such a good time especially our daughter as it was a surprise show for her. The layout is perfect with lots of open space, a bar area, dance floor and a second level. It is quite large inside but you cannot see that from the outside. Acoustics are perfect and David Benoit is still the master of the piano. He had a guest vocalist Courtney Fortune which added to the evening performance. Parking is about the only challenge so we made sure to arrive extra early and grabbed a spot right out front. Also parking was free! I definitely recommend this venue for good service and great music.

Bathrooms are a bit of a clusterf*@k as they only have one set of bathrooms for the entire venue on the second floor. The lines were always long and I don't even think it's city compliant lol. All in all, glad we got to check out MK here but it wouldn't be my go-to venue for shows.
