    The no-filing Thanksgiving cornucopia sandwich.

We were so excited to order lunch today after the free sub we got for Veteran's Day, which was delicious. We tried four subs and neither of us liked any of them. They were mostly bread. We were so bummed, and it was an expensive lunch splurge. Unfortunately off our list of go-to places. :( I used to love this place but no protein for the money.

We all came here after work because this sub shop is one of our favorite go-to places. I already knew what I was craving, so i ordered the large Firehouse asteak and Cheese sub for $15.00. Its huge and actually even bigger than a foot long sub. The tender steak was the best part, and it also had provolone cheese, onions, green bell peppers, mayonaise, and mustard. I think they added more mayonaise than mistard, but it was still as awesome as ever, and I managed to finish off 3/4 of it by the time we left. I wrapped up the rest to take home for later. It was a fun time except for the blaring television with ABC news which was annoying because we had a hard time talking with each other. I would have gove five stars but for the two very loud televisions, which was probably set-up for the employees' enjoyment.

I remember my husband frequenting this place when he was in school - I guess it was an alternative to Subway and other sub places. I loved the decor, with the dalmatian-spotted tables and the firemen outfits hanging all around. We ordered their Steak & Cheese hot sub from their 'Hot Specialty Subs' section with a side of Firehouse Chili. The sub itself was just okay, and interesting to dip it in in one of the hot sauces. The chili was my favorite as it was nice and hot, hearty with the chunks of beef and beans, and with not too much tomato. Delicious! A solid place to eat some hot or cold subs and friendly service. They also have Miss Vickie's potato chips available. +does not accept Yelp check-in offers T_____T +chili +Miss Vickie's chips available

The sandwiches here are phenomenal. Sure they cost more then Potbelly and Subway, but I would pay the extra $1.89 (I think a sandwich is around $6.89) any day! My Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar brisket was piled high and did not need any extra condiments, but added the cherry peppers and some "Alligator" style hot sauce. The meat was so tender. They actually have beef brisket that they use to make the sandwich, not weird, creepy, looking meat. I like their hot sauce bar. The numbers rate the hotness level. The "Alligator" sauce I had was a six-tangy and zesty, but not too hot. BP had the Engineer and we both loved it. I loved it a little too much since I wanted to eat more of it then offered :) Also, Firehouse has those cool soda machines with like 120 different soda combinations. Their Firehouse Cherry Lime-ade is worth the a shot! Also, Fully Involved means the sub has mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a kosher dill pickle (on the side).

Medium Steak and Cheese Sub, lime coco-cola, miss vickie's sea salt chips.

Both the lamb and chicken were very flavorful but if I had to choose one over the other it would've been the lamb. I will still opt for the combo but that information is just in case you wanted only one for yourself. The service was still great. The person at the cashier greeted me promptly, made small talk and even let me try the chipotle sauce. My only critique is when ordering the over rice plates you can add multiple sauces for drizzle but if you want it on the side it's $0.99!!!??? That makes no sense to me. Especially when you are probably using more sauce for the drizzle than what they but in the to-go 1oz cup. This is needs to change because what if you just don't want sauce all over your food. Nonetheless a three to a four star for sure, a five remains to be seen with other items and consistency in their popular dishes.

I was served within about ten minutes of ordering. The servings were generous. I took the second half home to finish it the next day. The tomato sauce and the meatballs were particularly good. The men behind the counter bark orders at customers and rush you to order as if your presence is an inconvenience. They are rude, uncouth, and borderline belligerent. Questions are met with evasive, dismissive answers. This was not a language issue. I spoke to staff in both English and Spanish. Every interaction felt rushed and unpleasant. The food did not redeem the experience. Although it smelled good and I've eaten here before with high expectations, the margherita pizza was completely inedible. The crust was not just moist, it was soaking wet, literally watery, fresh out of the oven. Yes, tomatoes can release moisture, but this was beyond that. It was flat-out wet dough. When I showed the issue to the man behind the counter who seemed to be the person preparing all the orders, the one who always wears a permanent scowl and who regulars will immediately recognize, he tried to gaslight me by saying that is "how margherita pizza is supposed to be." When I pressed him and showed him how saturated the crust was, he changed his story and claimed it was oil, not water. It was absolutely water, but even if it had been oil, that would have been just as unacceptable. I asked for a replacement. He told me to throw the pizza away and said he would make me a cheese pizza. Instead, he replaced an entire pizza with a single slice of cheese. No explanation. No apology. Just a quiet downgrade and a shrug. Our full order included a plain pizza, garlic knots, a Sicilian (grandma-style) slice, a buffalo chicken slice, and two sodas. The total was $73.82. The Sicilian slice was overloaded with parsley to the point that it overwhelmed the pizza and made it unpleasant. The most astonishing part? The owner was sitting in the booth next to us the entire time. She watched the interaction unfold and did absolutely nothing. No acknowledgment, no intervention, no accountability. That silence speaks volumes. This place is expensive, poorly managed, and staffed by people who clearly do not care how they treat customers. The man making the pizza is one of the worst individuals I have ever encountered in the service industry. The fact that ownership allows this behavior without consequence tells you everything you need to know. I will never return. Avoid it.

The Seattle location was wildly popular, and so is this Alexandria outlet. So practically speaking, due to the popularity, it may take some time for your order to be prepared. Be patient! The kiosks help with getting your order in, but when I used the kiosk, it errored out when I tried to order a fountain Pepsi. The burger was pretty good. The bun was great and so were the toppings. But unfortunately, the meat was salty as all get out.
