Meatball sub, extra cheese, add onion and banana peppers.

Always can tell there is care put into making my sandwich whenever we order delivery. I get the meatball sub, extra cheese, add onions and banana peppers... you can't go wrong!!!

I've had a lot of subs, heros, and hoagies in my day. And, while I'm definitely no expert and can't eat them regularly anymore, sometimes a sub is all I crave. The other day when I got off of an early shift at work, I realized I hadn't eaten breakfast or lunch yet and I was starving. Driving down 5th I spotted Firehouse like a weary sailor spots a lighthouse at sea. "Sub-ho!" I exclaimed to myself as I realized today was one of those days that this is what I was craving. I'd never been to Firehouse before but I hear them advertise ALL THE TIME. Walking in the door I was greeted by literally ever person who works there. Nice and creepy all at once. When I ordered, the guy at the register prompted me to help me order more smoothly and cracked a few jokes. I got the sweet and spicy meatball and it was prepared quickly and it was absolutely delicious. I'm not sure this is my favorite sub place, but I'll definitely stop in to try it again.

Proudly displaying local fire departments on their walls.

The food here is good. It is way better than a subway sandwich, but doesn't necessarily top some of the local places. Service is prompt, dining area is clean. But what sets them apart is the corporate office gives back to the community. They allow local fire departments in their areas to apply for grants through them and they buy them equipment. Some departments locally have used the money to buy hose and another used the money to purchase a fire extinguisher trainer that they use in the local community as an outreach program for free. They truly do give back to the community. They also have pictures in the hallway of local fire depart equipment and firefighters.

Advertisement photo vs. what you're actually given to eat

I almost threw up, and I'm not joking. By far the nastiest looking and nastiest tasting steak and cheese sub I've ever ordered. Look at the advertisement photo, then look at what I was given. I'll never be back.

The staff was kind, willing to assist, and kept a clean dining room. Sub was especially tasty. Bravo.

I ordered the CHICKEN SANDWICH which I did enjoy. I found the chicken to be covered in a crunchier coasting that some other chains, but it's flavour was a little bland to me. The dipping sauce is very important to me at a chicken chain. I like to dip fries and chicken tenders (if ordered). I was not a fan of the Raising Cane signature Cane sauce.

This was my first time ever having Raising Cane's. The fries were a good portion, but definitely too soggy. The Texas toast is fairly good, I could taste the butter on it; personally, when I'm already eating fried chicken and french fries, I probably don't need another brown carb with it, but I know it's just their "thing." The chicken fingers were decent size and I'm sure they would've been crispier if it wasn't for the styrofoam container. The breading was nice because it was a little heavier than Popeye's in my opinion, but not by much. I liked the Cane Sauce personally, although it was a tad salty. I'm glad I can say I tried it, but I'm not craving it strongly. Drive-thru service was fast, which was a plus.

I started with the Cauliflower Tahini Soup, followed by a build-your-own salad bowl, a Chocolate Chip Cookie, and a Minty Pink Lemonade. The soup had a rich, creamy texture, though I found it a little too salty for my taste. Not knowing exactly what to expect, I loaded up my salad bowl with lentils and rice, mixed greens, hummus, baba ghanoush, crispy onions, pita bread, chicken shawarma, brisket, sweet beets, pickled cucumbers, pickled radish, pickled cabbage, cauliflower tabbouleh, marinated eggplant, and finished it with Brassica's roasted garlic sauce and tahini. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and full of contrasting textures. The combination of crisp vegetables, savory proteins, and creamy spreads made for a hearty, satisfying meal that kept me full long after lunch. The Chocolate Chip Cookie was exactly how I like it--crispy around the edges with a slightly well-done finish and plenty of chocolate in every bite. To wash it all down, the Minty Pink Lemonade was the perfect balance of sweet, tart, and refreshing, complementing the bold Mediterranean flavors beautifully. Overall, Brassica is a great option for a quick, customizable meal made with fresh ingredients. While the soup wasn't my favorite, I'd happily return to build another salad and try more items from the menu.
