SLOW SLOW SLOW. I have been to this location twice and they either need to get rid of the person hiring the employees or do some training. There is zero sense of urgency in getting food made. 4 employees were working and only one was actually making food. The other 3 were standing around talking about basketball. All the diet sodas were out on the fountain machine...the list goes on. Subs were good, but the Sawmill location is 10x busier, makes better subs and cranks them out in a fraction of the time. read more

I've only ever gotten the brisket here, and it is consistently good. Unfortunately, not good enough to account for poor service. I usually call ahead to avoid the long wait, but lately they either don't pick up the phone, or put me on hold and forget about me, so I go somewhere else. The most recent time I decided to go anyways. Employee gave lame excuse for forgetting about me on hold, even though there was no line. Saw an employee dig out her wedgie while wearing gloves and bringing food out to a customer. Won't be back to this location. Brisket, chip selection, and cookies are the only reason it doesn't get 1 star. read more

I agree with the other previous posters. The subs are excellent (albeit not as good as Penn Station right down the street.) I've been there probably about three to four times, each time was around dinnertime, and the service was RUDE! read more

After hearing all the hype and the reports that this is place was built by Firemen, I assumed THIS was the place for a SUB! A couple of colleagues and I went to lunch here. The sub was quality made, but for the money, it was tiny. I thought that firemen ate well. If I am in the area, I go to Dibellas Subs, you get much more and the same quality for your money. read more

My favorite place to get a sub! They don't try to skimp on any of the subs and they are delicious. The best thing about this place is that they keep DOZENS of different hot sauces from all over the world that you can sample. They write on the bottle a number which tells you the hotness or spice factor ranging from one to ten. Very cool idea and the only place I have ever seen do this. I have been to this location of Firehouse subs a few times , it is near my office at work and I actually did not even know it was there until I went somewhere else and it was tucked into the corner of the shopping center that I honestly didn't even know was there either. It only has two or three little things in it and it's to the right and i just never noticed it.They have no sign out by the road so unless you look over there or go over there you may not notice. It's off of Fifth Avenue and I've always had a great experience both at this restaurant location and the other restaurant locations.I've always been greeted and I've always had my order taken in a timely manner. The restaurant is clean it's neat and the employees do not act disgruntled. I usually get the Italian club or really anything with turkey and I've always liked everything I've gotten from here. It's very similar to Potbelly for me in quality which is saying a lot because I really like Potbelly sandwiches so yeah I would definitely check this place out. It has one of those Coke machines that everyone starting to get now where you can choose anything that you want any drink that you want yeah! read more

Best subs in C-bus hands down. HUGE menu, but once you deal with the initail overwhelming selection and make a choice, you've nailed the beast. The New York Steamer is amazing, but add mushrooms, you'll be glad you did. read more

I've had such a great experience with this location! I had two large catering orders for work and they came through both times. The food was delicious and we fed a lot of people for a very reasonable amount. The service was generally very good. It was a little difficult to order it as there seem to be a small number of people that can put the orders in, but they were great once we got that taken care of - they were very flexible with adjustments to the menu, timely, and very focused on customer service. I can't comment on the in-restaurant experience but catering was great! read more

Good food, a little pricy for meat on bread. There are several sandwiches that do not have a single veg on it, which is sad. The "coke Free-style" is interesting and if you are a Diet Coke fan like I am, it is worth checking out. read more

I go in here a lot, and EVERYTIME, it never fails, the shorter young lady with the slicked back hair usually in a bun or pony tail, is soooooo rude. She never smiles and just sends off a very mean vibe. I always smile, say please and thank you, and she is still, always mad it seems. I come to fire house subs all the time when i'm on my lunch break. Its close to work and very good so I decided to bring my girlfriend there one night and I will never go back. The staff was rude and didn't even seem to notice we were there. I waited 5 min for someone to come to the register. This has never happened to me at lunch the staff is friendly and knows what they are talking about. When I first went to Firehouse house with some employees I was asked if I had ever been there before and a young lady who was making the subs at the pick up counter took the time to explain the menu what they were about and which subs were her favorite and what the best sellers were. It was GREAT!! She knew her stuff. When I told the lady on register during the evening that it was my girlfriends first time she looked like she could care less and didn't even bother explaining anything. None of the employees did. It's amazing how different a store can be at different times during the day. I was totally turned off and really am not sure if I want to go back. I have sent many friends there but I feel like we were just a bother to the workers at night. The place just seemed to have a lot of tension a lot of negativity. There had been some people waiting for their subs I heard one guy say he had been waiting over 15 min and the manager wouldn't come out of the back to speak with the guy after asking one of the employees over and over again to see one. He kept saying she would be right out and she never showed. But as soon as the guy left there she appeared. That's not very profession. The employee then said "why didn't you come out" She smirked and said " I was busy".. I will never return to Firehouse Subs during dinner. I like going there at lunch the Owner is always there to say hello and there is just a better vibe. Sorry Firehouse I would give ya more stars but the way I was treated that night... I was lured here by the ads for the Hawaiian pork sandwich. I guess the bun is the "hawaiian" part, otherwise it's a southern-type pile of pork topped with creamy-style coleslaw [I passed on the pepperjack cheese]. When I went in I was the only customer, took time to look around and got very confused. To read the menu board you need to be on the left, so it would make sense to place your order there--especially since drink machine, etc are on the right. But no, you order on the right, pickup on the left, and have to backtrack for drinks etc. Although you could get them after you pay, because believe me, it's a long wait. No one else there yet it was almost 5 minutes until I got my sandwich. Tasty but very messy, glad I ate it at home so no one could see the mess I created. The place is bright, lots of windows, more seating than in many sub shops, but if they always take this long to make a sandwich I hate to think what a mob scene it must be with more than 3 customers at a time. The sanwich was a bit pricey, but I have to admit there was a lot of meat and it was good. Don't know if I'll return, my usual sub place is easier to deal with and much faster service. read more

The food here is just plain not good. My boss was going on about how much he loved this place, so my family and I decided to give it a try. I heard they were famous for their meatball sub, but I was disappointed. It was just ok, but I would not rank it higher than any other meatball sub I have had elsewhere. Perhaps because it was proclaimed as awesome from what I heard, my expectations were higher. My wife got the Engineer Sub, which was turkey canned mushrooms and lettuce I think. First of all, canned mushrooms says everything. I don't care what type of food you serve, if the ingredients are not fresh it is not good. The bread on both our subs was dry, and considering good fresh bread is a key element to a good sub, it was disappointing. There were people in the place, but again, just not sure what the appeal is. The best part of the place was the pop machine, but that unfortunately does not make it worth your while to go here. read more
