Rude cashier and terrible service. No one properly spoke or understood English which made ordering in person very difficult. When I was ordering, they would constantly speak Spanish and laugh while I was trying to order. I don't understand what kind of service that is supposed to be. This location has gone downhill. We used to frequent this location bc the subs were good, service was quick, and it was clean. Now it takes 30 mins to get an online order (restaurant was empty) and the workers just stand around and chat/laugh it up even when there are customers waiting. This place is only open for pickup. The firehouse interior decor was interesting and would probably look better when their dining in opens post COVID. Now to the food-we ordered a spicy Cajun chicken medium sub and a vegetable medium sub. Both of them tasted ok. Also the bread at the bottom became soggy by the time we ate it as the liquids from the vegetables,sauces leaked out and accumulated in the base of the box,they can improve on their packaging. Their business model, customer service and employee attentiveness are horrible. If you compare firehouse, or at least this location, to other sub places in the area like jersey mikes, you will find that firehouse prices are significantly more expensive, yet their portion sizes are smaller. They charge more than $3 more than jersey mikes cheesesteak sub, yet the firehouse sub has significantly less meat in it, and the meat and bread dont taste as good as jersey mikes. The bread does not seem to be freshly made, or it is a different type of bread that is harder and tougher. I tried this location once and did not ever try it again. They messed up my uber eats order really badly, it was unacceptably bad, and when I reached out to their online customer service they had no response and never got back to me. I got a tuna salad sub, which is supposed to come with mustard to begin with. I never marked no mustard, I just marked it as no mayonnaise, and they somehow took this to mean no sauces at all so it had no sauces in it. There was a separate option to select no mustard which was not selected. I got a philly cheesesteak which does not normally come with mustard. I asked to add mustard to that, which they somehow interpreted totally differently, and gave me no mustard on, and also removed the provolone cheese from it. The sub is supposed to include provolone cheese, which it did not include. I am not sure if they ran out of all these ingredients or what exactly happened but these mistakes were in addition to the fact their prices are far too high- even if they were to offer larger portions their prices would be too high because jersey mikes already provides larger portions with lower prices. read more

There was an error (incorrect charge) in the online order that I placed last night for pickup at this Firehouse Subs. I caught the error on my receipt immediately after placing the order. I called the store to ask for the manager so that I could report the error. Unfortunately, the manager was not available. The friendly gentleman who took my call listened patiently to me and then recommended that I contact Customer Support because it was an online order, which I did immediately. Customer Support did not help me. This morning, I called the store again to ask for the manager, Ernesto Castro. I explained what happened. I asked what I should do to rectify the charge. Mr. Castro understood my situation. He sympathized with my feelings of distress. He told me that he would personally contact Customer Support on my behalf and call me today with feedback. I also mentioned that the mayonnaise and mustard that I had ordered on the side for each of my sandwiches was missing. (I discovered this problem when I got home last night and opened the bag containing my order.) I reported this matter to Mr. Castro today, as well. He graciously offered to provide me with the missing condiments when I returned to the store. I was extremely pleased by how nicely Mr. Castro treated me and how diligent he was in ensuring my satisfaction. This is exactly how to provide superior customer service. I feel confident in assuring you that if you ever have any concern about your order, just let Mr Castro know and he will do whatever he can to make things right. read more

Love this place. Best 'fast food' style subs there is IMO. The sandwiches are massive and ingredients are always fresh. The only negative I'd say is that the prices are pretty high. A large sub is anywhere from like $13-16. But you can partially blame #FJB for that (inflation). They're also founded by and support firefighters which is always a good thing Perfect spot for a quick sub! And go for a large if you wanna take home a whole extra meal. read more

9/9/21 Evidently I have a number of reviews I have started, but haven't finished. This happend back in July, but I wanted to put this out now I had just finished scheduling an appointment for a manicure and pedicure at a nail salon when I felt the need for something cold to drink.   I saw a sign for a new type of drink and knew I wanted to try it out at this store.  The drink was something like s blueberry lemonade drink, but it wasn't all that good.   The employee I meet there was pretty laid back.  The shop wasn't very busy, but a small waves of people coming in one after another.   The waves of people happen about every two to four minutes, but I guess that beats not having any clientele.  As for the blueberry lemonade type of drink, I switched to a sparkling peach flavored water drink.  It worked out better for me and my money wasn't wasted on a bad drink.   I will be sure to order food next time. read more

I went to Firehouse Subs for the first time ever and guuuuurl, I have been missing out on life! I'm sorry but I am a fan of Subway Italian BMT's. Firehouse is basically 10,000% better than that sandwich. 10,000%. I got sandwiches for me and my hub and it was his first time having one too. We were the emoji with big eyes about the sandwich. I got the corned beef sub. They were really generous with toppings and the sandwich was huge. Everything tasted and looked really fresh. I guess my only comment is they could be a little more friendly. They were kind of non-emotional and robotic during the greeting and ordering process. I mean, it's still customer service. read more

Love a reasonably priced good meat and cheese sub? Do yourself a favor and get their SMOKEHOUSE brisket sub (regular) with your choice of bread and additional toppings. It comes with cheddar cheese and their delicious smokehouse brisket which tastes like a better version of Arby's roast beef. Once you take that first bite into meaty, beefy, cheeesy goodness, well....you can thank me later. It wasn't very busy when I went, so it's a good place to get a quick lunch. I mean, you can't beat $10 for a tasty, fresh and made to order sub. Service seems friendly but I usually order rapid pick up. The sandwich really hits the spot and my favorite part is the pickle spear that comes on the side. Try their chocolate chip cookies too (only $1!), and I think they also have brownies and oatmeal raisin but I haven't tried those yet. I haven't tried their other sandwich flavors yet but for now the smokehouse brisket wins my heart. All in all, for a total of $12, sub + cookie, I'd say that's pretty reasonable for what you're getting for lunch in this inflationary environment. When you come in the employees always greet you with a "Welcome to firehouse" to give you that warm feeling or possibly nervous. I mean some days they are enthusiastic about it and would scare the living soul out of you, and other days it's like a terrible "Dry Eyes" commercial. I mean don't get me wrong, I love the fact that they try but sometimes it gets a little creepy lol. When it comes to variety they have a few selections that are worth trying. Now the best part about Firehouse Subs are the sauces! They have a lot to try from sweet to put you in the hospital spicy! Literally, a friend of mine was put in the hospital because of the hottest sauce they had. Lol he couldn't take the heat, so he should've stayed out of the kitchen. We've been so bummed that the Springfield location closed. When I found out that this location delivers through Grub Hub, my husband jumped at the chance: "Let's do Firehouse for dinner!". That's all I needed to know. For some reason, I find the honey ham to be way too sweet for my tastes and I nearly always pick a turkey sub, but I was craving the ham tonight oddly enough. My husband and I got their Club on a Sub, which has ham, smoked turkey, Monterey Jack cheese and bacon. Many of their subs are served "fully involved", which includes lettuce, tomatoes, onions, deli mustard, and mayo; while a handful of their specialty subs (such as the meatball marinara, beef and cheddar brisket, and the steak and cheese), do not. We opted to keep ours fully involved, with only one exception - lettuce doesn't travel well on warm food so we asked for lettuce on the side. If you are lucky enough to go inside to enjoy your meal, they have a great selection of hot sauces of all kinds. I've never tried any of them, but it's on my bucket list. Speaking of buckets, you'll see from time to time that they'll sell their pickle buckets for super cheap and donate the proceeds. How freaking awesome. Back to the food review. Our food arrived super quick, and the gentleman who delivers is so nice! Dinner was delicious, and prepared just how we asked. There was a big salad bowl filled with crisp and crunchy lettuce inside our bag! I piled it on my sub and proceeded to chow down. And, last but not least, we really enjoyed our after-sub pickle spears. I'd definitely recommend ordering from them, you will not be disappointed... and I know we will be ordering from them again! Firehouse Subs is a good sub place but not my favorite. I had the turkey sub on wheat and it didn't make me go WOW in my mouth like other sub chains in the area. I would still recommend this place. I would recommend grabbing a smore brownie. Now that my friends was one of the best brownies I have had before. Please note that this location has one of those fun soda machines that you can pick a variety of flavors. I was able to have vanilla coke zero (one of my favorites sodas). read more

So I got the large to save the rest for later or for lunch tomorrow. Two people could share the large. The sub was tasty, except the ham was way too Virginia hammy-sweet for an Italian, could barely taste the geneoa salami. They steam the meat so its warm and cheese melted and the bread is toasted. My only objection, get rid of that huge red counter. I hate it when you cant really watch them make it. I'm from Philly. Up there you can watch them make the hoagie and ask for a little of this and a little of that That's part of the experience. Here, I just hope it comes out the way I want it. About a 2-2.5: Firehouse Subs offers hot and cold subs, specialty subs, salads, chips, and catering options. I love the decor of all Firehouse Subs, with the dalmatian-spotted tables and the firemen outfits hanging all around. I recently ordered their Steak & Cheese hot sub from their 'Hot Specialty Subs' section with a side of Firehouse Chili for a pick-up. The sub itself wasn't really good, as the meats were a bit dried out (even for my taste!), not seasoned, and there was a lack of cheese and mayo (even with the requested extra mayo). The chili, which I remember it being actually tasty, was just not this time around. It had a weird taste to it, where it was more tomato heavy and watered down; even with adding some of the hot sauce just didn't help. Staff is pretty friendly. Avoid this location at all costs - orders wrong, no customer service, poor mask usage. Ordered a large hook & ladder on their website for carry-out with no lettuce and no tomato. After I got back home, opened the sub to find they actually put extra lettuce on it and no mustard. Also the bread was burnt to a crisp, so much so that it was black and charred. The meat also had little taste. (And I love Firehouse, so this location is the problem.) I always want to give a brand a chance to make it right before going public, so I reached out to the store - twice. But no one ever responded. It's clear the franchise owner and/or manager just have given up and do not value their customers that keep them in business. On top of that, the man who always runs the register during weekday lunch never wears his mask properly. And they have almost all their tables available, so if you are taking the pandemic seriously, this is another reason to avoid this dump. First, let me say, I like Firehouse Subs, I like the variety of sandwiches and salads and the fact you can dress up your sub with choice of available sauces is great. One issue I have is with the pickles, just give everyone a pickle slice, that way you do not forget to give one when a customer expects to receive one. The BIG issue I have with this location is they're slow, no matter what time of day, they never have enough employees working. Yesterday was a perfect example, noon time rush and the cashier had to stop taking orders for several minutes to help catch up on sub orders. Waiting for almost 10 minutes to place an order and another 10 minutes to receive your sub is unacceptable. When compared to speed and accuracy, this Firehouse Subs location, does not measure up to nearby Potbelly or Jersey Mike's. Will not return to this location, someone in Corporate Management really needs to address the issues with this Franchise. read more

Firehouse now has a good low cal sub so we have been doing this specialty. We love the staff, young guys but focused on service and next , next next! I was pretty underwhelmed by this place. I really like the concept - that it was started by firefighters, and that there's over 20 sauces to pick from when you pick up your sandwich. But the meat was just meh. I admit that I'm not a meatlover - I tend not to eat it except to get protein in my diet or if it's a good quality meat. This was not one of those good quality meats. The pulled pork sandwich sat heavy on my stomach and made me want to take a nap while my stomach digested. And it wasn't just me - my husband IS a meatlover, and he also wasn't a big fan. read more

Normally I would give them 4 or 5 stars but, I placed an order this evening and went to pick it up. The State of Virginia is requiring people to wear mask to cover nose and mouth and to maintain a 6 foot distance due to COVID19.When I went in to pickup my food the employees WERE NOT wearing mask and they were side by side. Also, they didn't change their gloves between orders, wash the cutting utensils or cutting boards. So much cross contamination. I would concur with most Reviewers in that the quality of the food is much better than Subway. The service is even better and the way that they present themselves is something that I have rarely experienced in any other sandwich shop. They greet everyone who walks through the door 'Welcome to Firehouse'. The crew was respectful, attentive, and nice to me when I was placing my order. I ordered the hook and ladder sandwich combo that had smoked turkey and ham. It was very delicious and I had no problem finishing all of it! I have yet to check out other Firehouses but I'm guessing they are all on even par. The next time I'm in Fairfax and I'm feeling hungry I'll have to check them out again! read more
