Hoagies, Subs, Heros, Grinders, Torpedos, call 'em what you want, but we know we're getting good ones when we get to Jimmy John's. I got the Veggie (provolone cheese, avocado spread, lettuce, tomato, cucumber) and we also got a Totally Tuna (tuna salad, fresh lettuce, cucumber, tomato). I used to go to JJs almost every week in college as there was one down the street within walking distance from the library. However, the ones closer to where I am now have closed or are hard to get to. I came here because I wanted something that wasn't greasy and was in a rush to get something before entering rush hour traffic again. This place is clean and there is plenty of parking you don't have to pay for. Inside it was pretty empty. Not sure if it's always like this given it's $10+ for a basic Turkey Tom. The food was good and I was satisfied. However, things have changed a lot in the sandwich industry and it seems like the prices are somewhat getting out of control. This location is located on the corner of Gallows Road. There is no street parking however there is a parking garage a few feet from Jimmy John's. I placed my order online through the app. I waited at least 10 minutes to go in to pick up my order. When I arrived I mentioned that I was picking up an order and the two workers looked very perplexed as if I had ordered at the wrong location. There were no other customers in the store so they were not busy at the time. After pressing a button on the register my order came up. There was little communication from the workers and it felt like I was at that time in the wrong for placing a mobile order. One of the workers rang me up but mumbled through the process. The other worker started to work on my sandwich and finished making it in less than two minutes. When the worker was finished they mumbled that my order was ready. The music was loud and I did not hear the order be called out at first. The worker said your order is ready and pointed to the end of the counter. A friend of mine got me an Italian style sub from here earlier today and it was just what the Doctor ordered! It included ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. I really appreciated the gesture because I was swamped with work and I really couldn't leave to go eat anywhere. The bread was somewhat different than what zi have been used to, and it was definitely fresh and made today. They only had one worker there during dinner time (6 p.m.) and I believe that person did not speak English. I felt sorry for the worker and angry at that location's management. I've been ordering from this Jimmy John's for the past several months and up until recently their service and food have been fantastic. I don't know if they have had a recent change in management or what's going on, but the past couple of times I've ordered from them my sandwiches were a disaster. I usually get the tuna on wheat bread with no cucumbers and add onions, which is what I ordered the last two times. The one I ordered last week did have cucumbers on it (not the end of the world, I just picked them off) and it looked like the sandwich had been made in the middle of an earthquake. It was thrown together and super messy. I ended up kind of taking it apart and reconstructing it into something that looked more like a sandwich. Today I ordered the tuna sandwich again. I work pretty close to the shop so they usually deliver within a couple of minutes. Seriously, like 2-3 minutes tops. Today I had the order tracker up on one of my monitors and after about 10 minutes I glanced at it and it was still on "preparing your order". I went back to what I was doing and about 5 minutes later the status still hadn't changed. I gave them a call to make sure my order went through to them and the guy apologized and said they got really slammed but my sandwich was on its way. It finally arrived about 15 minutes later. I get that everybody has an off day, but if I thought the previous sandwich was messy, this one was an abomination. When I opened the wrapper it was drenched, as was the bread. Did they not drain the tuna or what? I did my best to sop up some of the wetness on the bread (the texture of wet bread triggers my gag reflex), but it didn't help much. Once again the sandwich was thrown together. There was more lettuce on the wrapper than in the sandwich, but boy howdy the onions made it in there. SO much onion for a single sandwich! I pulled 80% of it out and there was still plenty. I did my best to eat it, but the bread had become so soaked I couldn't continue. I'm really bummed about these last two experiences because it's unlikely I'll continue to order from them. Completely fine, serviceable sandwiches here. Perhaps nearby Jersey Mike's offers tastier sandwiches, but Jimmy Johns will give you reliable options at a better price. If you need a basic sandwich, this place is head and shoulders better than something like Subway. You should be careful about the mayonnaise, though. Several of their sandwiches come, by default, with insane amounts of mayo. Even if you think that you like the stuff, you should ask for "easy mayo," and even then, it can be way too much. If you forgo the mayo, then many of the sandwiches are actually pretty healthy lunch options. The Vito (their Italian), Turkey, and Roast Beef are the best options. The default sub bread is pretty solid, although the 9-grain bread is also solid. You need to request onions, hot peppers, or sprouts if you want those. There's plenty of free parking at Halstead lofts, although the garage spots are pretty tight. Be careful if you drive down to the lower parking level - the ramp is also tight, and it's clear that quite a few cars have left some paint there. read more

This location hours of operations are a lie it says Mondays-Fridays they close at 8 but the last order they take online is 6:45PM. Another time I ordered through DoorDash my order was confirmed/accepted and when my dasher got there they said the canceled my order because they had no lettuce.... My husband and I wanted a quick meal. We ordered our meal on their website and within less than five minutes we showed up and it was ready. It was honestly freaky fast!!!! I ordered the JJBLT. I'm not a lazy drive through only person but there are often no spots at all on the first level. None. WORST EVER!! I ordered my sandwich at 11am, my lunch is at 11:30am for work, I did not receive my sandwich until 12:30pm. And to top it off the sandwich was wrong, I had added cucumbers, but not only there was no lettuce at all, it also only had, literally one thin slice of turkey!! SO SAD!! I'm a young African male in america in 2023 so my opinion my be biased. as well as my situation may bring on different encounters from individuals due to my position as an ethnic group in this global region. So tread lightly when considering my viewpoint. Walked in @ 11 to try and be the first one to order a sandwich from this establishment. To my surprise, I was greeted not by a friendly "Como Estas" or "Hello, how are you doing" even. But was asked why I was there more or less. In my past experiences on both ends of food service it's pretty obvious why an individual may walk into your establishment after they see it is open. (Not my intention to be rude) Maybe I'm looking into it too much but that encounter did "hurt" my heart. I felt like leaving but gave them a chance to "be human" I left after examining how the remainder of my experience was going to would conclude. It was as generic as possible. I just received the worst service ever from this location. I've always been very pleased with the speed and quality of their food but today that is not the case. The delivery driver was incredibly rude. He came with a delivery to my office. I put on the notes of my order to use the phone in the lobby to be buzzed up to the company suite. While sitting at my desk I received a call on my cell phone. I figured there was an issue with the lobby phone and knew it had to be Jimmy Johns calling for assistance. No biggie. I answer my cell saying hello and am greeted with, "It's a good thing you answered the phone because I was about to take your order back." I'm caught off guard by the rude tone. I the begin to ask, "Did you not receive my note to use-". I'm cut off with his response of, "No, they didn't put it on here." At this point I'm livid. His curtness has me upset that I've spent my money and paid a tip in advance with my order (never again will I tip in advance). I tell him I do not like his tone and he can take the order back and I will request a refund. Before I can get the last word out of my mouth he's talking over me saying that he will take the order back, then hangs up. I immediately call the store and speak with the manager recounting the experience I just had. He said he'd speak to the driver and would refund my money. NEVER AGAIN will I order from this location. 11/13 - It's the next day and although the treatment I received from the driver was totally unacceptable I must give kudos where kudos are due. The owner of this establishment reached out to me and provided an sincere apology. I am confused as to why the driver is still employed if this is a known issue with him, but that's the manager and owners call if they want to continue to risk their reputation for this employee. They only have cold food not hot subs. I mean, is their grill broken or is this how all Jimmy John's work? Ew. Who wants no option for hot food? Also, there is no parking anywhere close. You have to park in a parking garage and walk a ways. Kind of similar to parking in the parking garage at a mall and walking all the way to it. Not very convenient at all. Also, even though the Governor of Virginia has said people who have been vaccinated don't have to wear masks or even social distance they still require masks at Jimmy John's. I told them this and also that I have asthma and it makes it very hard on me to wear a mask, if I could pretty please just order without one. But they guy handed me his out-of-the-can response "We're a private company and we can do whatever we want...". told me "no" to go wait outside like I was a dog or something. As if I'm a threat but the dude sitting right next to me chowing down, smacking and slobbering all over his cold sandwich isn't a threat. Ok. Whatever. Jimmy John's obviously didn't care that I have asthma or any care for customers in general. So I just left. I didn't want cold food anyway. I think Jimmy John's suck. I've never been in one before and I will never EVER go into another Jimmy John's again because of these people. (And sucky cold food. Who goes to a restraunt to have them make you COLD food??? Bread was fresh and soft which is what you want in a sandwich at times, other times crusty on the outside, and soft inside. Hey, I'm from NYC, and that's how a lot of sandwiches from there are made! I ordered my food online from the website. The first time I ordered it..I asked for extra mustard n they put extra mustard seeds. Cant eat it all. Than I ordered the 2nd time.. veggie sandwich, when I was eating it, It tasted meaty, fishy, and smelled like it too. Than when I lifted my sandwich up.. I found tuna meat on the bread.. why is there contaminating from handling one meat sandwich to another. Love Jimmy John's! Go to this location most often, but visit many others in the area. I love that Jimmy John's will deliver for just one sub. They are so quick, usually order to in my hands via delivery is less than 20 minutes, sometimes less than 10 minutes. Ordering is simple online. Even easier in the store and they make the sub quick, to order what you include on the sandwich is on there and if you want something left off, it is. Its a simple concept, but many restaurants do not understand that concept. I only wish there was a Jimmy John's location that made deliveries to my home, unfortunately there is not. read more
