I arrived 22 minutes before close and the employee locked the door as I walked up. Their response "we are closing early because we were busy". I frequent with this place a lot and love it, I've also worked in the food industry and never could I have gotten away with locking the door on a customer when they arrived in more than enough time for a sandwich to be made. It's disappointing to have driven out of my way here for this. I also tried ordering ahead but can't seem to find where they take gift cards online so I was forced to wait to place my order until I got there and get shut out. I understand things get busy but consumers have know way of knowing this when driving in, to then be told that to my face was pretty disappointing. I love the idea of supporting a venue that benefits firefighters. Plus. Over the years the quality of the food has declined. The subs used to be more hearty with more meats and toppings....they are now a bit skimpy. Taste satisfactory and price is OK but nothing to rave about. read more

I was here with my sister early yesterday afternoon (04/02/22). I ordered a soda. The machine wasn't working correctly and was spraying all over. It was extremely fizzy, and the drink tasted off. I tried probably 6 or 7 different drinks. Nothing changed. I mentioned to the male that was making our sandwiches (the only person making sandwiches at the moment) that the taste was bad and the machine needed to be adjusted. I waited for him to do something. A female came out, and I couldn't hear what they said to each other. He told me that I just need to let it run awhile. So I pressed the button and let it run and run. I stood back and let him see how screwed up the machine was. He literally never did a thing about it the time we were there. I had an awful-tasting Dr. Pepper. He never did address the situation and never tried to fix the machine. I won't be back. The customer service was abysmal. The sandwich--a small--while tasty, was more than the cost of a 6-inch Subway sandwich and didn't have "oversize" anything, and Subway would actually do something about the machine rather than just ignore us. Obviously, considering the lousy ratings and empty promises by management, the company is all talk and no action. I'll take my business elsewhere next time. I was embarrassed and sorry for my sister who was paying that I had suggested we try them. read more

Want to give Neil at Grand Blanc Mi store and high five and praise him for going above and beyond for us to get platter sent to funeral home this afternoon for us for our veteran friends funeral that we were unable to attend while out of town. He didn't charge delivery and wouldnt accept a tip and delivering it himself to help us out ( even though it's out of the delivery radius!) . I realize that this sub shop just opened in Grand Blanc last week, so my review is strictly about the food. All I have to say is that in today's culture where submarine sandwiches are part of a lot of people's daily eating rotations, this Firehouse Subs isn't quite up to snuff. Keep in mind that this is my first time going to any location, and I've had quite a few sub sandwiches in my lifetime. Where were the problems? First, the bread was not toasted enough to counter the steam from the meats, therefore making everything soggy. We ordered their large "Firehouse Hero" sandwich, and the roast beef, turkey breast, ham was 1-dimensional in flavor. How is it that when you bite into those three meats, you can only taste 1 flavor? It was so sweet that even the lettuce, tomato, onions, provolone cheese and other condiments didn't help. Visually, it looked good though. Just wish it tasted how it looked. Second, the ratio of meat and vegetable fillings to bread were unbalanced, making it seem like you were just eating bread. No bueno. It could have been saved if the bread was at least of higher quality, but it wasn't. In fact, the wheat loaf that we had was similar in quality to that of Subway. If you're paying $9.00 for a large sub, you'd want a better quality bread loaf right? As an aside, the quality of meats didn't seem "premium" (as they advertise). They were merely a small step up from Subway..certainly not anything like Jersey Mike's (one of my favorites). Their sauces that range from mild to hot spice levels were not bad, but nothing original. Just one important note to this location: Only 1 week into opening and the facility looked like a mess and not kept very clean. I was pretty disappointed to see that the tables, floors, counters, and work stations were not neat and tidy. I love the fact that they have a non-profit Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation that supports and provides funding for local firefighters. Any business that gives back to the community gets a huge thumbs up in my book. However, given the fact that I wasn't all that thrilled with my sandwich experience here, the likelihood of my return to this location will be very slim. read more

I paid how much for that?! First time here & was excited to try a great sandwich, however disappointment quickly set in. Sandwiches come in small, medium & large. Probably my fault but I didnt see any indicator saying how big each size was in inches. I ordered a small and Wow, was it ever! The sub was barely the size of my index finger, and not quite as long as my pickle spear, all of which I paid $4.49 for. Flavor of the sub was decent but not worth the price. It took me longer to eat my chips than the sub. Place looked generally unkept. Staff was very courteous though. I cant say I would return. read more

One of my favorite sub places, a very disappointing visit today. I entered the store at approximately 3pm and no other customers were in the store, I ordered 3 large subs and it took over 20 minutes. The entire time I waited I had to listen to employees complaining about wanting to go home early. That part I can accept, but when I got home and 2 out of the 3 sandwiches were totally made wrong! I'm not a sandwich and sub person, but these were really good.

I have ordered many times from here and tend to always get the "Club on a Sub" (love it but why must I have to add extra bacon? Just add more than 3 strips to begin with pls) but today got the meatball and italian instead. The meatball was 1 of the best I've ever had. Great flavor and spice blend. Needed more sauce but otherwise a huge hit. I'll DEF get again. Italian was a bit blah to me. Maybe needed more dressing IDK. The quality of the bread, meat and cheese is always on point tho. Next I want to try the brisket and cheddar so stay tuned. :) read more

My son and I tried this place for the first time. He got the Italian and I got the engineer. Both were good. They could of used more meat on them. I'm not a huge fan of bread so in my opinion it could of been toasted more. They are a new place and were pretty busy since we were there for lunch. Great people, great food! Interior is cute, my kids love it. The fireman hats are nice too for the kids. I'm only rating it four stars just because they don't have fries and one of my kids will only eat out if there's fries. I decided to try Firehouse Subs for the first time. I got a 12 inch Italian and was hoping that I could have some of it for lunch the next day also. I've tried pretty much every sub company this out there. I have to say this is honestly the WORST submarine sandwich that I have ever had in my life! Even the sub sandwiches that you buy in gas stations and convenience stores r heads above this one. There was no one in front of me in line and no one in back of me in line and it took them FOREVER to make the sub. and like some of the previous reviews, the meat all blended in there was no flavor. It was actually terrible tasting. there was a sweetness to the sub. The bread was soggy and the whole thing was falling apart. I am throwing the rest of it away a big waste of $12. I will never try another Firehouse Sub not from this location or any other. and further I don't know who the rocket scientist was who designed the building but from Grand Blanc Road and Saginaw I hate seeing the rear of their building and looking at the bathrooms that face onto the main street. That's just what I want to look at all the time -Not. Do not go to this location it is not worth your time and money. I hope they go out of business. Went into Firehouse Subs for the first and last time last night. For a grilled sub, the bread was extremely soggy and the toppings were not fresh at all. We ordered a variety of 5 subs, the only one we weren't disappointed with was the plain ham and provolone - without toppings. It felt like a Subway grilled sandwich (which isn't saying much) for a lot more money. For the price of 5 large subs I could have ordered 2 pizzas for less money. read more
