This location is great: The people who work here are very friendly, the restaurant is clean, there's lots of parking, it's easy to order on the Firehouse Subs app and pick up in store, and they are freaky fast at fulfilling orders. (Just like that other place.) I'm just kind of bummed that my sandwich was mid. I got the Hook & Ladder sub, which has honey ham in it, and that made it very sweet. The bread that comes standard is a white sub roll, and it was very pale and doughy and also sweet. There was a lot of mayo and dressing on the sandwich, so it was dripping with every bite. It was not a pleasant sandwich-eating experience. And not just that, but my sandwich made my hands smell for hours afterward! Even after washing my hands with soap twice! I don't know what it is about the sandwich (maybe the bread, maybe the onions or the spread), but it made my hands smell doughy and sweet. Maybe I didn't order very well, because some of the other sandwiches that the people behind the counter were producing looked a lot better than the Hook & Ladder. I have never in my life had an experience like this. I placed and online order. The resturant forgot a part of my order that I paid for. I called back to the store and got the manager. I don't know how this guy got a job there. I told him that I could not come back today. He didn't care, told me to take it up with door dash (it wasn't a door dash oder) or online. Stopped in for a lunch visit at this Firehouse Sub's location. It has been years since I last visited Firehouse Sub's, but it was time for another. The man working the counter was a kind and attentive Gentleman. I ended up order a large sized "Club on a Sub" on freshly baked Wheat Bread. It was both fresh and delicious. It was very refreshing to have a healthy sandwich instead of typical fast food on-the-go. In my personal opinion, Firehouse Sub's is one of the most underrated sandwich shops in the country. They definitely have much to offer from variety, options, and different flavors. Their Wheat Bread was particularly good too. You receive good portions for what you pay. It's a great way to eat half now and save the other half for later. Their take-homes don't get soggy like Subway and some of the other restaurant chains do, which is a big plus for me personally. The food literally made me sick and I had less than half of my "engineer" sub. It's supposed to be a hot sub but half of every bite was freezing cold. The workers were also yelling and cursing at each other while there were customers in the store. The bathrooms smelled disgusting as well. I hadn't heard about Firehouse Subs, well, ever...it's strange, I have a strong love for Jimmy Johns (as a cold sub) and, well, my loyalties lie with Subway in terms of hot subs and, just, subs in general. Instead, I tried to give 'em a try one day- after all, there's no WRONG time for a grilled/toasted sub. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they have an abundance of veggies, sauce options, and they're pretty generous with the amount they put on there! As a vegetarian, we usually have issues getting enough substance into our subs - hence the loyalty to Subway, where they voluntarily load subs with a plethora of vegetables. After having recently tried Jersey Mike's, I'd definitely go for Firehouse any day: I'm assuming it's the Italian dressing that makes it. After multiple attempts of trying to give this place another try, i continue to get disappointed. ordered 2 sandwiches from here on doordash, $50 mind you. Both sandwiches were completely different from what we ordered. i've never understood how difficult it is to read an order ticket and follow directions. You literally just have to be another level of lazy, I mean it literally is right in front of you step by step. How do you go out of your way to add stuff that wasn't even on the order. It would be one thing if i ordered in person and had a whole giant order, would make a little more sense. I mean seriously, a ticket is right in front of you with what is needed to complete and order and do you the complete opposite. Literally so pathetic, this seems like my order was screwed up on purpose?. This is twice now that i've ordered from here and whoever is making food can't read, embarrassing. This evening, my family decided to give Firehouse Subs another try. (2014 was the last time we visited there) So the order was 2 Italian subs....1 hot with no tomato, no mayo, no dressing. The other one was the same but cold with no mayo, no tomato and no Italian dressing. Both were to be regular-sized sandwiches. When we received the order, one of the boxes was about the size of a burger box. After I opened it, it was totally wrong......tomatoes, loaded with mayo and Italian dressing. The cook agreed to remake that sandwich into a regular size. Thinking the second time was right, we drove home and after opening our food, BOTH sandwiches were cold even though one was supposed to be hot and loaded with all the toppings we had asked to be removed. We have food allergies to eggs and tomatoes. One of the sandwiches had so much mayo on it that it barely held together and all ended up in the trash. Came to get one of my favorites; the Turkey Bacon Ranch. Sandwich was good... not great, but good. This is my first time to a Firehouse Sub's out here in Indiana, but I've had it in other states. This felt like lower quality and a lot less meat than usual. My real issue here was the customer service... the lady taking my order was talking so quietly that I couldn't hear or understand what she was saying, and then rolled her eyes and got annoyed when I kept leaning forward and asking "what?". I wasn't at all trying to be rude!!! I honestly just couldn't hear her. The other thing that I noticed was that the workers (only two that were there) were not in any sort of uniform- and what I mean by that is like not even a shirt that says the name. I sort of hate to bring this up because it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, but it just looked like they both rolled out of bed. I'm really not one to talk because I dress very comfy with no frills, but I wouldn't do that at my place of work. A plain shirt would've even been fine, but they were both wearing shirts with graphics and words that were distracting. I'm not sure if this place doesn't provide them or what but it just seemed very unprofessional. Really not trying to be rude and honestly like I said, doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but I noticed it and it stuck with me so I wanted to share. Visited today for the first time and had a very nice experience! My husband loves firehouse subs and has been trying to get me to go. Let me first start off by saying I'm not a big sub person....but I very much liked their Italian sub. So much so, I would go back and get it again! It had just the right amount of bread, meats, veggies and Italian dressing/Mayo combo oozing out. My husband had the New York sub which he loved and we share a side of Mac and Cheese which was also good! I can see us going back soon and I'm happy we have one close by on 86th street. The staff was very nice and helpful and it was easy to order. This is a new restaurant by the Pyramids that opened probably a couple weeks ago. At the office yesterday, we all decided to go try it out. The place was packed out the door by 12pm, which is probably due to the place being new. Everyone loves a new restaurant by the Pyramids! It was hard to see the menu and wait in line to order for the food. We waited for almost 30+ minutes before the food arrived at our table. Based on observation, it appeared they were servicing all the to-go orders before any of the dining patrons first. The server was very friendly and apologetic for the wait and try to do everything he could to make us feel at ease. I ordered the Engineer Sub with a pickle on the side. There was no pickle on the side. There was supposed to be spicy mustard, but there was none on my sandwich either. The presentation of the food was also not the most appealing; my turkey and tomatoes were not under the bread, but tossed on the plate. Overall, there were kinks with our experience, and it's understandable due to it being a brand new restaurant. The restaurant was opened by firefighters, so it seemed really cool to be able to provide support; therefore, I will try it again. Hopefully, by then, the kinks will be ironed out, and there will be another great sub place to eat at for lunch. However, based on my current experience, I can only give it 3 stars, but hopefully, my updated review will provide more stars. read more

1st time at this location but definitely not a first at Firehouse. When I walked in there were 4 employees working diligently behind the counter and all 4 looked up and greeted me, "Welcome to Firehouse." I had a fairly large order and when I came in 20 minutes earlier than what I had originally told them for pickup, they had all 7 orders ready in no time. Great service! This location is almost spotless as well. The food is always great at Firehouse. Fresh ingredients, meat and especially the bread. Great menu for those watching calories and for those who are not! They also have a great selection of hot sauces lined up ready for use and labeled 1-10 on the heat scale. I got the large Italian sub with chips and it was delicious. The sub was really amazing. I went with my friend. We got one No: 9 and 10 ( fire house hero sub and smoke house cheese & cheddar brisket) No: 10 was really juicy and No: 9 was a different taste. They have lot of sauces ranging from 1-10 depending upon their hotness.. Try all the sauces from no:7 those ho really well with the sub. We also tried Kings Hawaiian burger... As with a visit to any Firehouse location, our food was great. However, unlike visits to numerous other locations in various states, the service at this location was much different - and not in a good way. The cashier was abrupt and almost rude, both when taking my order and then giving my order to me. I realize that they appeared to be busy, but that really isn't justification for being short with your customers. UPDATE - upon a return visit to Indy this week, we did return to this location on two separate visits for dinner on 5/14 and 5/15. On both occasions, the staff was incredibly friendly and provided great service. We had VERY different experiences from our first one and will return to this location on future visits to Indy. read more

I have had a few subs from this location and they tasted fine but nothing outstanding to me. The prices seem expensive for what you get as the sandwiches don't seem to have that much meat on them, as there photos show on their menu. I have tried many varieties of their hot sauce which they have sitting out for anyone to use. They have all kinds of crazy names for the hot sauces and the employees tell you not to use more than a toothpick dip worth or it will burn your mouth. So with me liking very hot sauce I took their advice and tried some, and like most places there hot sauce failed my heat test. I had to use a lot of their hottest sauce in my chili to spice it up. But I understand for the average customer they can only make sauce so hot. So aficionados of extreme heat will not be satisfied with their sauces no matter how scary of a name they give them, lol. The sub sandwiches tasted better than the cheaper franchise subs but not as good as some of the other more top-of-the-line sub shops. read more

I really like firehouse subs but this is not a place to go for a healthy sandwich. I skip the mayo on all my subs but I have to draw the line when it comes to skipping the cheese. The one exception I'll make to this is the Beef Brisket sub which is DELICIOUS and you can skip the cheese and the mayo and not be missing out. Its' still almost 600 calories so I wouldn't recommend eating it everyday. They do have a pretty fancy coke machine there that allows you to make almost any drink you could possibly want (if you want orange flavored coke, you can get it). I didn't actually love the machine because when I got my diet cherry coke, it had way to much cherry syrup in it. Now I know better and I'll adjust it accordingly for next time. If you're in a Quizno's rut, Firehouse would be a good place to try! read more

I'm just not a hot sandwich kind of girl but my meatball sub was okay. It was gigantic and I only ordered a medium! I was able to get two meals out of it. The service was quick and the line moved along at a good pace. After you order they ask you if you'd like to round up your order to the next dollar amount as a donation to whatever cause they're supporting. When I was there it was for the victims of the November tornado outbreak in Illinois and Indiana. I'm not quite sure how I feel about them asking. Average subs. It's a good substitute if you're in a hurry and don't want fast food. The reason I am writing this is because of the staff here. The small woman up front with the heavy accent was so kind and friendly. Mean while, the young girl kept trying to interrupt her while she was taking my order, which I didn't mind but it was clearly bothering the woman working with me. I have ate here on a few occasions when in town. I have always enjoyed the food here. The briscuit melts in your mouth and the barbecue sauce was surprisingly unique. I usually stick to their promotional sub but the new york steamer is always good as well. I tried their chili for the first time and was not impressed but I did finish it. The eating area is tigh at best and leaves you feeling a little cramped. Probably a better place to get a to go than eat in. All in all, I will keep a look out for Firehouse Subs when I am on the road. read more

We ordered online and when we arrived our order had not been received. No worries though as management comped us two drinks while they prepared the order. The soda machine is not to be missed as it blends any of the coke products with most every flavor you can imagine. I had coke zero raspberry. The Sammie's arrived hot and yummy. The hot sauces are an interesting twist. Tried one rated 4 on 1-10 hotness scale and it wasn't hot at all. Went to try the recommended sauce and it had been fermenting at room temperature so beware of bursting caps when you open. Will skip the hot sauces next time. read more

The NY Steamer is one of the best sandwiches I've had since I left New York. Granted, I've been out of the US most of that time, so I didn't have a lot of opportunities.
