Firehouse Subs is a favorite if mine. This location is on Sample Road and 441 in the Pepper tree Plaza. It's so easy to order on the mobile app and even pick a time that you'd like to pick it up. The subs are made fresh and warm. Not too many places serve a warm sub. They offer a variety of chips and drinks at a reasonable price. My favorite sub to get here is the smoked turkey on wheat. It never disappoints. A pickle comes on the side with every sub. I really appreciate all of the specials that are offered in the app. Every order earns reward points towards a free sub. The new Firehouse Subs spicy dill hook 'n ladder is good. As it's name suggests, it is spicy. Be forewarned! Don't order your Hook Ladder (smoked turkey & ham) this way if you don't like spicy. I did not come here for awhile because it seemed the Ladies' restroom was so often out of order. Anyway, I was here this past Monday for the aforementioned "spicy dill" concoction. So good! The spiciness caused a bit of a runny nose but so worth it. Fabulous order taker who also "manned" the dining room ... keeping it clean and checking in with each guest to make sure everyone was enjoying their meals! Restroom in proper working order now. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door and a very friendly cashier. We came into to celebrate Veteran's day with our favorite hook and ladder sub which was brought straight out to us. They even made sure to ask who received the mods on a sub order that was pretty much identical versus just dropping our food and leaving it up to us to figure it out while we pick apart our food. I am a huge fan of Firehouse Subs! I always order them on the mobile app for pickup as they are ready right when I walk in! My favorite sub is the Hero, but the Hook and Ladder and the Steamer are also both great options. You really can't go wrong with any sub choice at Firehouse. Most of the subs are hot subs unlike other sub shops so it's refreshing to have so many hot choices instead of cold subs. They all are served with a deli pickle slice on the side and all subs are customizable for additional free toppings too. They all have coke freestyle machines inside (which I am not a fan of personally). But they also have a hot sauce bar and a great chip selection to pair well with the subs. Inside is firehouse themed to include murals, the tables and all the decor so that also brings a unique experience that sets it apart. My family and I stopped into Firehouse Subs today while out running errands. We have been to a few other local locations before but today was our first day in the Margate one. We entered the store very early after opening and were greeted by some very friendly staff. They made sure to let us know before our order that it may take longer than normal because their oven wasn't fully heated up. Thankfully we had time to spare but this was a great piece of information to have up front. The location was clean, and the subs were very well made with good portions. My coworker recently has been to Firehouse Subs and all she wants to do is go there all the time. It's her new place to grab some lunch. So I wanted to go check it out with her. We ordered online in the Firehouse app to save some time. With the first order in the app the customer gets a free drink. I got dasani sparkling water cherry flavored since I quit sodas over a year ago. In subs, I ordered tuna sub. It just needed a bit more seasoning but overall it was a great sub with fresh toppings which I chose. They have a place for order pick on the right side of the restaurant. The employees were really nice and greeted us and asked if we needed anything else. I will be back when subs are on my mind for lunch. This Firehouse Subs is located on Sample rd off of 441. I not gonna lie I was not planning on having a sub but I was going around playing Pokémon go with a group of people and this is where they decided to stop and grab a bite to eat. I can safely say that I was happy with the choice. I just had a medium Italian sub with a little bit of mayo lettuce tomatoes onions and pickles which is pretty much what I have every time I have a sub anywhere. I really liked it it was definitely better than Subway as far as bread goes, flavor wise it is pretty much the same to me. But as you can see my selection is not very daring, and cild cuts taste the same everywhere. Service was fast and friendly the place looked clean and everybody looked tidy in their uniform. I had the pleasure of eating at this Firehouse Subs today. This location is very clean and well-kept. I was really impressed with how friendly the staff was. They seem genuinely happy to be there. I ordered a large Hook and Ladder sub. The meat was very fresh. I also like how the veggies were fresh. The only thing that was a downer was that the bread was kind of stale. It put a damper on the whole sandwich. I did not want to say anything because I was in a little bit of a rush and just wanted to eat and go. They were out of a few flavors of chips. I do wish they had a larger selection of desserts. The friendly service really made all the difference. read more

My husband turned me on to this place. He used to work as a paramedic instructor at a school and all the paramedic/firefighters there would order from here. We really don't eat here anymore but when we used to we thought the subs were really good. They have alot of hot specialty subs, my favorite is the steak and cheese. My husband would usually order the steamer. Most of the guys at his school would order that, it was very popular. My only complaint is the location and parking here. There's hardly any parking here and you have to menuver your way around the parking lot. It's really annoying. Other then that there's really nothing to complain about. Firehouse subs was an old favorite that has been replaced by several newer hoagie concepts in the same area, most offering better pricing or options. The claim to fame here is a steamed sandwiches that come Fully Involved where possible. The pricing is quite high for a sandwich that barely fulfills a mans hunger. They offer a combo with drink and chips that doesn't appear a huge value over ala carte pricing. The sandwiches vary from cold cuts which appear precut meats, to meatballs and steak offerings. The Ladder and several unique sandwiches offer several meats together. I almost always get the NU Steamer. They sometimes offer a specialty sandwich, last one was coated heavily in BBQ sauce and became the Smokehouse Brisket. I have never tried the Tuna and don't plan to. The sandwiches are steamed and offer more meat than Subway. That said, Laspadas, SoHo Subs, Penn Dutch, and Jersey Mike's are preferable within a mile. The staff is usually nice and our friend loves the counter of hot sauces available for use. This store was closed in past for health issues. They blamed another tenant and tenants blamed them. It is hard to revisit now after knowing of this challenge. You will find this location on the outskirts of the Winn Dixie Plaza at 441 and Sample. I always go to this place. The customer service is A++. I was disturbed by a customer complaining for the cashier being nice to him The kid was not disrespectful and the man kept complaint. I gave him a look as to what was his problem. He coward and began to eat his sandwich, no more than 5 minutes he began to again complain about nothing. I am a building inspector and trust me I meet a lot of people but this guy was the pits. I will always support my local businesses but I will never pick on someone who treats people nice. With that said I always come here for a great sub, unfortunately that asshole customer needs to find another place to eat. A++ to the staff for being kind to him despite him being a jerk. I had the turkey sub and it was excellent. The bread was super fresh and the toasted subs are a step up from Subway. They have the freestyle coke machine here, but I prefer the bottles as the freeestyle does taste a slight bit different to me. I know this place was started by firefighters, but the decorations on the walls are overdone and sorta cheap. I would prefer a much more classy minimalistic design rather than a bunch of trinkets thrown up haphazardly on the walls. read more

UPDATE: I used to come here often and had only one bad experience ever. That is, until today. Walked in and was ignored because apparently a cell phone conversation was more important that attending to a customer. One of the POS terminals was not accepting debit/credit cards and that was the POS Mry (host's name on receipt) was using to put in the order. She rolled her eyes when she finally noticed I was holding a debit card. Her companion took his sweet time making the sandwiches. Horrible customer service!!! Over 25 minutes to get a sandwich from kids with attitudes. They don't seem to care about doing their job and it doesn't take over 25 minutes to make a sandwich. From all the other BAD reviews I guess there is a problem at this store hint to leadership and owners maybe you should go see what's going on at this location. I think there enough bad reviews for action to be taken. I will Never go back to this location. The store was also slow 1 other customer while I was waiting. We usually love eating here but today was a huge disappointment. I ordered the firehouse hero on wheat with veggies and cheddar cheese, my husband had a New York steamer as it comes (with provolone), and the kids had a turkey with no onions or tomato. When we got home it was like they played Russian roulette with our choices. Hubby got the cheddar and veggies on his steamer and got the wheat bread, kids had both tomato and onion, I got the white bread with a ton of Mayo which I said no to. I had a large and half my sandwich had a giant brown hair (I have blonde hair) I pulled out. My husband called the restaurant to complain and the manager made no effort to try and make it right or offer to remake it or get a refund. In fact when he was told the order was wrong theyasked if we were sure. What an insult. They have lost good customers. Firehouse Subs was a favorite of mine a few years back when I spent a lot of time in South Carolina (I think the first one was in Mt Pleasant) and we would often get a Firehouse sub and head to the beach. Fast forward to now I picked up a sub on a Friday night after grocery shopping for a quick dinner. I ordered the engineer sub, which is turkey with mushrooms, cheese, and your typical sub toppings. I ordered the large sub as I was planning to split it with my brother (their subs are quite big). Upon arriving home we opened up the sub to split. I wish I had taken a picture, but my phone was dead, and my brother refused to support my yelping on his phone, but the sub looked like a mess. It did travel in the car so maybe that wasn't totally their fault, but as I mentioned earlier I used to bring these subs in my purse to the beach and never saw one this messy. The real issue here was that it was a large sub (somewhere around 12 inches) that I planned on splitting, and I assumed it would be cut in half; however, they way they cut it left about 1/4 and 3/4 of the sandwich on each side of the cut...no where near half. I took the smaller one and called it part of my diet, but overall it made the sandwich look even more sloppy and thrown together. As we were eating I didn't feel the taste was as good as I remembered, and then to top it all off there was no pickle! They usually wrap the pickle up in the paper of the sub, and they had specifically asked me at the register if I wanted a pickle and of course I said yes, but it was no where to be found. Do not mess with my pickle! I may try Firehouse again, though probably a different location and hope this was just a fluke. For $8 the sub is very large and very easily feeds 2 so it is a good value, and this visit I got a free large fountain soda (from the Coke Freestyle machine) for signing up for their email list. I have not given up completely on Firehouse, but this experience definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. read more
