I am a huge fan of Firehouse Subs! I always order them on the mobile app for pickup as they are ready right when I walk in! My favorite sub is the Hero, but the Hook and Ladder and the Steamer are also both great options. You really can't go wrong with any sub choice at Firehouse. Most of the subs are hot subs unlike other sub shops so it's refreshing to have so many hot choices instead of cold subs. They all are served with a deli pickle slice on the side and all subs are customizable for additional free toppings too. They all have coke freestyle machines inside (which I am not a fan of personally). But they also have a hot sauce bar and a great chip selection to pair well with the subs. Inside is firehouse themed to include murals, the tables and all the decor so that also brings a unique experience that sets it apart. If you are looking for a fast sub option and haven't tried Firehouse subs, I definitely recommend it!

My family and I stopped into Firehouse Subs today while out running errands. We have been to a few other local locations before but today was our first day in the Margate one. We entered the store very early after opening and were greeted by some very friendly staff. They made sure to let us know before our order that it may take longer than normal because their oven wasn't fully heated up. Thankfully we had time to spare but this was a great piece of information to have up front. The location was clean, and the subs were very well made with good portions. I would definitely recommend this location for good food with even better service.

To go order which I ate at work : sparkling water and tuna sub

We stopped by here last week for lunch after seeing they were near where we would be shopping and…read morereading a couple positive yelp reviews. The small deli/restaurant is mainly for take out, but they do have a couple tables inside. We chose to order here and eat at one of the tables. We got a chance to chat with the owner. We got a friendly welcome. She was quite sweet. When we asked, she told us that Goldy was her sister who had passed away. The restaurant was named after her. In addition to the menu on the counter, they have a blackboard with various featured items -- including soups of the day -- and specials. They use Board Head meats which you can see in the case. We both ordered their Italian sub, but I made a few changes to mine leaving out the ham and the capicola. The bread was soft and went well with all the meats, cheeses, and veggies. It was an excellent sandwich. We each ate half (the sandwich was stuffed with stuff) and took half home. We were talking about other options that they have when the owner mentioned various desserts -- including banana pudding. She mentioned that it's quite popular and sells out often, but she just happened to have some ready. This is my husband's favorite dessert. He couldn't resist getting a container of it. He took a few tastes there and devoured the rest at home. This place is definitely worth a return visit. And if you're looking for a good sub/hero/sandwich, etc. it makes a perfect lunch stop -- to eat in or to go. I'm so glad we tried them.

Breakfast with toddlers is less of a meal and more of a competitive sport…read more That's how we found ourselves at TooJay's Deli with our year and a half old grandsons. And right out of the gate, I'll say this place is very kid friendly. Because about ten minutes in, the boys began conducting what can only be described as a gravity experiment with anything within arm's reach. Our waitress handled it like a seasoned professional. Calm, patient, helpful, and completely unfazed as items occasionally achieved flight status. Her attitude alone set the tone for a really pleasant experience. Now the plot twist. The service was excellent. The food was... a little more complicated. My son and I started with the matzoh ball soup. It was good, but not quite in the same league as my wife's homemade version. The matzoh ball itself was dense, which I actually like. The broth, though, could have used a little more salt. Still good. Just not legendary. Meanwhile the boys were devouring pancakes with the focus of two tiny professional athletes. I didn't get a bite, but judging by the speed at which those pancakes disappeared, I'm comfortable saying they must have been very good. Then came my plate. Scrambled eggs with French fries and a bagel. Another small twist. The bagel was very good. The fries were cooked to absolute perfection. Crispy outside, fluffy inside. Exactly what you want. The eggs though? They told a different story. A basic breakfast staple that looked like they hit the pan at a little too much heat. Still edible, just not the soft scramble you hope for. My wife ordered the cheese blintzes and reported they were very good. My mom enjoyed her eggs as well, which added another small twist to the table conversation. Sometimes the food is the headliner. Sometimes the experience is. Today the grandsons and the waitress stole the show. Between the kid friendly atmosphere, the fantastic service, and some solid menu items, this visit lands at four stars. If three and a half stars existed, that might be the precise score for the food alone. But our waitress lifted the whole experience. And when you're dining with toddlers conducting airborne physics experiments, that kind of service deserves some extra credit.
