Love this place!!! Staff always friendly and professional. We came for lunch but I had breakfast. It was a quiet afternoon and decorative for the past holiday. I had a Great find that I had never eaten before. The Diner Skillet sausage eggs mushrooms it was so good I ate the rest at dinner!!!! Hubby had the chopped sirloin which was delicious he was incredibly happy and ate every morsel. Son had the 222 breakfast which has become his go to breakfast as he loves their pancakes. Upon arriving we found very limited parking. The restaurant had a little bit of a wait for a table and appeared to be understaffed because there were empty tables everywhere but folks still had to wait to be seated. It was reasonably busy so the wait for the food was expected. The food was really good and portion sizes were good. Nostalgic, I'm sure this place has seen great times, and from the patrons and diner itself it's still hanging on to the time period of old school diners. Great friendly staff and very attentive to service. I can't vouch for all of the food but the biscuits and gravy, mmmmm let's see how would I put it, terrible, absolutely terrible. Pasty as wet flour that didn't get mixed well, almost grainy. Hopefully it's just a one off. Went with my husband for lunch since we were in the area and I'm really glad we stopped in. The food was as good as at the other two Lester's Diners, one being in Sunrise the other one in Fort Lauderdale. They have a huge menu and you can get breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is really something for everyone there. We both get a cup of their homemade vegetable soup that was absolutely delicious! Loaded with lots of broth and a rich broth, this was the perfect start to our meal. I decided on the hot pastrami sandwich and my husband ordered the Reuben. Mine came with a side of potato salad and his with coleslaw. Both sandwiches were really good but I ended up switching my potato salad with his coleslaw because the potato salad had a bit of a sweet taste to it. I put a little bit of the coleslaw on my sandwich, and it took it up even another notch. We were both too full for dessert but they had a display of wonderful looking desserts. Maybe next time. You can't go wrong with Lester's Diner. Good food, great service and reasonable pricing. This location even has draft beer, desserts and donuts. Got here around noon on a Sunday, the parking lot was packed, but there was still plenty of room inside. We were seated promptly and wow was the service excellent. Our drinks came slow, but the service was fast. And tge food can quickly and it was amazing. I had skirt steak and eggs. The steak was perfectly cooked. I was reading some of the other comments for Lester's and my experience was not that. I have been to some very exclusive restaurants and the service and food quality surpassed thise restaurants and far surpassed my expectations. This is an old review that I realized I never posted. We had an awesome server with a great personality! Unfortunately I didn't get his name. My husband and his friend ordered the turkey platter, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. We were told they ran out of mashed potatoes (it was around 8:30 pm) so they got French fries instead. It wasn't a big deal. I was on the fence between a couple of dishes and ended up ordering the gyro platter which came with a side salad and French fries. The gyro was surprisingly very good! The facility is large, which is great because it reduces wait time. They are very popular, so depending on the day and time, you still may have to wait a little. The ambiance is relaxed and the decor is what you would expect when you think of a classic dinner. Service is efficient, and friendly enough to make you feel welcome. The menu has many of the traditional dinner options, and prices are reasonable. Food taste is great and, in my experience my requests have been done right. The menu has plenty of options, they even had draft beer BOGO! Unfortunately we were in a rush and starving so we were in and out. Will absolutely be back to check out more options! The girls are so accommodating I'll be back for that! The server was kind and attentive. I ordered a turkey club sandwich with potato salad. The sandwich was huge and the turkey was of good quality. Unfortunately, the bacon was pretty chewy. Came here with a bunch of New Yorkers who relocated to Florida and love their diners! They are usually pretty picky people, but they are regulars at Lester's. I got the gyro platter and my husband got an enormous hot dog. I loved that mine came with a cup of matzah ball soup. The portions are large and the food does remind me of the New York diners I would dine at with family as a kid. They also had a good deal to add a drink and dessert onto your meal for (I think) $5, which seemed pretty reasonable. Walking into an almost packed diner after 10am only indicates to me that the food is probably good. Reminded me of those times IHOP and Denny's used to be packed...they don't pull in a full crowd these days. Located along Coconut Creek Parkway, Lester's is a large diner offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner 7 days a week. You can do take-out or dine solo, with a companion, or with a group - there's plenty of table seating accommodating over 200. With more people steadily coming in, I approached a friendly female employee and stated that I wanted to place an order to go. She asked me if I knew what I wanted. After replying that I wanted French toast, the employee asked me if I wanted a short stack (2 slices) or full stack (3 slices). I then asked if the French toast was served with anything and she replied that it's just the French toast. She then explained that I can order the 2-2-2 (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 bacon slices or sausage links) and substitute the pancakes for French toast for $1. That was good enough for me. Wait time was about 10-15 minutes. Once I received my order, I hurried home to enjoy my breakfast. The bacon was crispy. The scrambled eggs was well prepared. The French toast was decent. The egg batter used to coat the bread didnt have that vanilla and cinnamon flavor I love in a French toast, but at least it didn't have an eggy look and taste. The food was filling and satisfying. I must say I expected better. Been to Lester's Dinner a few times and food was average/just ok. But today my experience was horrible. The bacon was terrible, it was not cook at all (see picture). Also the plate was dirty and eggs were undercooked and I did ask the waiter I wanted well done/overcook eggs. Service was ok but went I ask to get me my eggs cook the waiter went to kitchen with half of the eggs on my plate and brought the same eggs just a little better. Lester's diner has been around for as long as I can remember. I had been going to the original Lester's on d Rd 84 in Ft Lauderdale since the 1980's when they served coffee in giant cups. (You may still be able to get one if you ask) This location was very busy on a late Saturday morning. We waited about 15 minutes but the crowd did clear out shortly after we were seated. Our server was pleasant and we ordered breakfast and lunch. I love diners because you can get breakfast any time of day or night and Lester's is no exception. The interior is sectioned off with a counter area and two large open rooms. There are typical old school diner photos on the walls of old cars and 50's decor. Our food took a while to arrive but everything was cooked to our liking and the turkey club was HUGE and made with real turkey, not processed. The prices were also very good. They also have a case of fresh baked cookies, pastries and cakes which are hard to resist. I will continue to drop in to Lester's any chance I get, at this location and others. read more

Usually fantastic. Got the morning special came out. Eggs were ice cold in the sausage wasn't cooked fully. Told the waitress she rolled her eyes, walked away, brought the check with my portion of the meal still on the check. Went to the front counter after about 10 minutes they had the morning special removed however, manager walked right past us didn't say nothing went to the computer removed it then brought over the payment system not a single word This has nothing to do with the undercooked food defect that the waitress didn't remove it from the This is absolutely horrendous management. I'm disappointed with my experience. This diner was recommended by a friend, but unfortunately it didn't meet expectations. I'm not sure if this was an isolated incident, but I did see two roaches during my visit, which raises serious concerns about cleanliness and pest control--especially for a place that has been in business for so long. Most of the staff, including the host and servers, were friendly. However, one server--whose name I believe was Karly or Carla--came across as unprofessional and had an unpleasant attitude, which detracted from the overall experience. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and makes improvements. I will not recommend or return. read more

I've been to Lester's many times and thoroughly enjoyed it. Today the service was great even though the server was in training she did an awesome job with a couple exceptions. I don't blame her though, as she was being mentored by an experienced server that should have caught it. Overall the food looked great. I had a bagel and creamed cheese which is difficult to mess up. One friend had the Athena omelet that looked great and was served as ordered. Another had a western omelet ordered with no onions. It had them. And another ordered a skillet breakfast with no cheese because he's lactose intolerant. It looked so amazing...to me. I love cheese and there was plenty of it. Aside from those two issues, everything was great. The server will make a fine employee in short order. They were constantly making rounds with the coffee pot and the coffee was slightly better than average dinner coffee. This location is very nice and clean and all of the employees are really cordial. I'll definitely be back for the reasons that make Lester's so good. Of the many times I've been to a Lester's Dinner (although this was my first time at this location) I've had a great experience.
