Bruce came to service our fireplaces. He was exceptional. He cleaned every single part of the fireplaces and diagnosed a problem that needed to be corrected. Much to our surprise, one of our fireplaces did not come from them, and therefore he could not replace the pilot assembly. He went to the trouble to find out who could replace it. Then he wrote out exactly what was needed. The second fireplace, he left in perfect condition. We HIGHLY recommend this company! read more

Over the years, We have used fireplace fashions to repair and clean our gas fireplaces. They did a fantastic job of cleaning and repairing our two fireplaces. The employee showed us how to start the pilot light, and adjust the flame and fan. The cost of cleaning one of our fire places was $200. It does take a while to have them show up at your home as they are busy during the winter months. But, their service is worth it! read more

Called there 3 times asking for a return phone call. Each time, no one picked up the phone or called me back even though I explained I had called before. Even their phone message is insulting telling potential customers how busy they are (what business behaves like this)? The person taking their messages and scheduling their sales and service phone calls (mine could have been either) should be fired immediately. I would never trust my business to a company who behaves like this. Be careful before you use this company. If they behave like this before the sale, they will never service you after. read more

I saw some of the reviews below and sometimes wonder how people are allowed to comment. This is a locally owned business, excellent customer service, awesome sales department that sells awesome products. They aren't cheap-However- they know what they are doing and stand behind their work! My husband and I had a ventless fireplace installed a little over a year ago, it installed quickly and that amazing little contraption heats our entire house (I think our heating bill for a 1900 sq ft home, built in 1910, ran about $90 in January) We worked with Jim and he knows the products in and out, made suggestions, and answered all the questions we could possibly have never having owned a ventless fireplace. read more

0 stars - CANNOT recommend their service team unless you want to pay a premium price for sub-par effort. I made my appointment a month or so ago (after a hard rain in Webster) my gas fireplace would not power on - the unit had water in it and when I put (new Duracell) batteries in the remote receiver it would make a buzzing sound and not light. Today, the technician showed up and told my wife to just replace the batteries, then charged us $150 - for batteries and gas, essentially. They DID NOT look and see WHY water might have come in then or in the future - just told us, "well, I don't see water now" and, "don't use garbage battery brands"... that's because the flood was A MONTH AGO. Of course, I put fresh batteries in there - my house runs on batteries and IoT devices. I'm trying to do preventative maintenance so this doesn't happen again. So now when it snows or rains heavily and there is water in the unit again I WILL BE CALLING SOMEONE ELSE and I recommend you as a customer do as well. read more

Me and my husband where looking into getting two fireplace inserts for our home. We had told them we were using a renovation loan and was assured this should not be a problem! We picked out two units and they quickly came out to measure. There is paperwork that needs to be finished and it is to hold them accountable for a quality installation. They did not feel comfortable with that. They offered there sub-par financing, which they probably get a kickback for. Wanted to support the small mom-n-pop places! What is interesting is that a home improvement store had no a problem filling out that very same paperwork. Also a remodeling company that's on TV that remodels bathrooms, kitchens, and does flooring, and also a window company had no problem filling out the very same paperwork that was given to FirePlace Fashions. All three of them had no problem working through the process with us! Between the three of them they will be receiving over $100,000. After reading many reviews really feel like we dodged a bullet! We had to call repeatedly to finally get an answer why the paperwork was not completed which held up our closing for the loan. They had no intention of notifying us of their decision. We would recommend going there to get a quote and taking it to any other fireplace retailer in Rochester. Probably will get a better deal and a more professional service. We went to Fireplace Fashions knowing we were ready to replace our non-working, zero clearance, wood burning insert. We wanted to convert to a gas fireplace and had been to a couple of area dealers. We found that Fireplace fashions had a great display of inserts and full size fireplaces and a sales staff that was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and not pushing us for a sale. We finally decided on the right model for us (Fireplace Xtrodinair 864TRV) and set up for a home visit to get the install estimate. After the assessment, it was determined that we would need to engage a general contractor to address some support and code issues with the old chimney and chase. When it was installed well before we purchased the house, whomever did the installation did not use a proper foundation and the chimney/chase was actually only supported by a box frame on the outside wall and some 2x6 braces underneath. After much frustration getting a contractor, we finally were engaged with Speranza Construction (Highly Recommended!). The pairing of Fireplace Fashions and Speranza was perfect and the coordination was exceptional. Once the old fireplace and chase was removed and new shed chase and foundation installed, Fireplace fashions stepped right in and had the unit installed within a half day. They left the template front installed for Speranza to come back and build the fireplace surround to match the opening without damaging the front face of the new fireplace. Once the surround was finished, Fireplace Fashions returned to put the permanent face plate on and do the first fire-up. During the first fire-up, the install technician was very professional and also demonstrated proper handling and functionality as well as informed us of what to expect with maintenance needs and some additional tips for best usage of our new fireplace. If I had one critique, it would be about the template (Set-up face) for the fireplace surround. This was an extra charge for $167 to allow the contractors to frame the stone correctly around the new fireplace. This was just a metal plate frame for them to put stone around and was basically on loan from Fireplace Fashions and then taken back at the final Fire-Up when the put the permanent face plate on. It was the only aspect that felt like a nickel and dime situation. It wasn't a customization item or preference, it was a required part of the install to allow for a proper surround to be built. That seems like it should have been either built in to the cost of the unit, or really more of a deposit and refund type of thing, not an additional cost. Overall we are extremely happy with our new fireplace and with the install collaboration with our contractor Speranza Construction. read more

I had my new fireplace installed by this company and paid a premium not only for the unit itself, but for the labor. The over $3,000 install took place on July 1st, 2019 and the installation crew had me quickly sign off on the job and off they went. Again, my fault for not closely inspecting the job as I trusted them. After the fact, I noticed two issues: 1) Unit is not flush with exterior brick leaving a half inch gap all around the front. 2) The GFI outlet that I also paid $65 extra for was never installed and they plugged the fireplace into an existing outlet, when it was supposed to be hard wired in. While I take some responsibility in signing off on this sham job, I had Mike Miller, head of installation come out to the house to review the install (after leaving a few messages for him.). His response when he saw the crappy job was: "This is bull shit" followed by: "I will get a crew out here and make this right." Since Mike's visit, nothing. I have left numerous voice mails and even stopped in and had a paper message left for him on Friday, 8/16 and still no response. The sales team is predictably friendly, but once you buy, they promptly refer you to the installation dept. and good luck with that! All I'm looking for is some sort of ETA for them to fix their mistakes. This, my friends is bull shit and one of the worst customer service experiences I have had in recent times. I remain hopeful that they make this right very soon, but with zero communication, who knows. I would welcome a call back from the "very busy" Mike Miller soon. There are many other more cost effective options for fireplaces and installs and most certainly better customer service and respect than Fireplace Fashions offers. Definitely shop around before you commit to this "Goat Rodeo"! read more

I called today and the phone was answered politely and immediately. I asked if they repaired a certain brand of gas fireplace inserts. They said they did not service that brand but were very happy to give me the name of a business who does. I felt very satisfied with their reply...it allowed me to make contact with someone who can repair my fireplace unit. When I am ready to replace or install another fireplace, I will definitely contact Fireplace Fashions. read more

I was beginning to think this location was no longer in business. Lopi has Fireplace Fashions listed on their website as the only dealer in Rochester. I called on a Monday (it's now Saturday) and left a message on extension 4 for service. No one even bothered to return my phone call. I called again today, service still didn't answer. I called back and pressed 0 for help, a message immediately played and said they weren't available. I called back again and pressed 3 for sales. Someone answered the phone then. She was very, very unhelpful and certainly did not care at all when I explained to her the situation. She said she could offer no help and said she could only transfer me to service voicemail. I said what good will that do because they can't be bothered to return phone calls. She said that was my only choice. I said can I speak to a manager and she said there was none. I asked her name, she mumbled something like Vanna. I thanked her for her NO help and hung up. Just go out of business if you care this little about customers. read more
