Buckle up. This is going to be a long one…read more If anyone needs masonry/construction done, stay far away from this company. I needed some work done on my front porch. They charged the hell out of me. Almost $7000 to replace some outer bricks, remove my old steps and place new ones, and do a little tuckpointing under my window. I thought the work seemed good but when I initially posted it on Facebook I had several people tell me the steps weren't up to code. I called Chris, the project manager to express my concerns. His response was "which people? Who are these people?" When I told him some people on social media told me they are not up to code. One of them being a former city inspector for city of Detroit. Chris told me he could look at it but that they were up to code. Not too long after that, an inspector from city of Dearborn gave me a notice that the work had multiple violations, being that the steps were not of equal heights, no permit was pulled, no four foot footing was installed, and that they were not even licensed to work in the city of Dearborn so they were getting a ticket for that. Chris stopped by my house that evening to tell me city of Dearborn called him and in order to correct the work I needed to reimburse them for the permit and would need to pay them $1000 for the four foot footing. I was a bit taken aback but soon realized I should not pay for a violation that they committed. I wanted to speak with the owner instead I got Brittanie the operations manager who told me to "calm down" and "you would just have to pay $1000 for the four foot footing." She told me they are a licensed residential builder and that they are licensed to work in the city of Dearborn. The city inspector confirmed with me the next day that they weren't licensed to work in the city of Dearborn so she lied to me about that. I decided to have a different company correct their work. I wanted it done legally and with the way they did the steps, they were a tripping hazard and I didn't want to get sued. The other company pulled the permit and corrected their work. Unfortunately when Resurrection Brick did the work we financed through the bank they use to finance which is US Bank and the finance company is Wisetack. I tried to dispute it with them but they told me there was nothing they could do. I spoke to a lawyer who told me the bank shouldn't have given them the lump sum and they should have had me sign off that I approved of the work. I asked the finance company about me signing off on the work and giving my approval. I never did that after they were done. They explained that when I applied for the loan I checked off that I approved the work they did. How can I approve something if I never saw it? I asked the bank to send me proof of that and they told me they couldn't send me any proof of that. So there are issues with the financial institution Resurrection Brick chooses to use. Resurrection Brick also never gave me a copy of a signed contract. Now, I am going to be taking this to small claims court

They told us about the guarantee on their own carpet line that allows a "re-do" if you are not satisfied with the carpet for any reason. We kind of laughed, because we couldn't imagine anyone doing that, but it ended up that we weren't happy with our choice and when we asked them if we could replace it with another color, they were completely gracious about it. Their installers were really skilled and did a great job. We will definitely return to Carpet One when we new flooring for other parts of our house.

The process from choosing materials, measurements, ordering, installation has been smooth without any unpleasantness. Nathan returned with Spiros K., whom I understand to be his supervisor. Despite multiple attempts, they were unable to install the relay, and the fan began running continuously. They assured me this would be corrected on their return visit, along with installing the plug extension. I purchased the needed plug myself and texted to schedule their return. The next day, I received a message stating they would "pass on installing" the relay due to how it needed to be set up. I responded that the relay was no longer an issue and that I simply needed the fan problem--caused during their visit--resolved. After that, all communication stopped. Multiple messages went unanswered. We paid roughly $900 for the two visits, and I was willing to pay for the fan correction despite it resulting from their work. Instead, I had to hire another company to restore the fireplace, costing an additional $350. Declining to continue with the relay installation is understandable. Abandoning the job without fixing the fan issue is not. The lack of follow‑through and communication is unacceptable. Bought second floor carpeting after living with Karastan for over 30 years with no problems, just…read moreneeded a change in color. The nightmare begins, during COVID time frame carpet laid turned out to be from different color lots, manufacturers agreed to replacement. The second carpet was laid with a "shear" defect, that is a grove cit into the middle of carpet that looks like a one inch racing stripe. I asked how can this happen, didn't anybody at Reimer look at the carpet rolls prior to installation ? I guess not. Reimer offered a "settlement" which I foolishly accepted because being near 70 years old, I couldn't move all the furniture on the second floor for the third time. The problems soon started with the second carpet, ripples started to appear. it seems going forward , Riemer was going to charge to come out and look at ($75) the ripples and than charge for the repair. They have been out at least three times for ripples and over $500 dollars to take care of this issue. It seems to be a great profit stream because it was poor installation from I read on Google. just to add to this, areas that they had to de ripple, seem to be holding. but now the ripples are going to new areas . I feel like ripping out the mess and starting over with another merchant, I can't believe it's worth the money to have a endless cycle of restretching. Truely don't know what to do.

We were told our carpet installation was "tricky," and required an experienced installer. This should have set off alarm bells as you will see below). 3) Carpet installation was scheduled approximately 3 months after order. 4) Install date arrives. We had moved everything in preparation. 5) Carpet and carpet pad are delivered. 6) Install team arrives. Lead installer has more than 35 years of experience. Seemed like a very credible guy. Other guys indicate that he is the top installer for Riemer. 7) After about an hour of analysis, lead installer tells us that the carpet cannot be installed. The carpet was designed only to be a rug and that the multiple seams we needed would look terrible. He demonstrated this by trying to cut the carpet/rug in front of us. 8) We ask what are our alternatives? Answer - carpet has to be returned and we need to start from the beginning in choosing a new carpet. 9) Lead installer said same thing happened a month ago and the customer had to choose different carpet. 10) Carpet and pad are returned to Riemer. 11) We started a new online search for carpet. After about 10 days, we had narrowed the search to two options. 12) Salesperson finally gets back to us after about 10 days. She indicates that they "found" an installer who will install the carpet without a problem. 13) Salesperson indicates this has never happened before, despite the fact that the installer with 35 years of experience said the same thing happened a month ago. Who is lying? Our experience is that it is typically the person who has a motive to lie. 14) Salesperson indicates that manufacturer will not take carpet back. Obviously therein lies the motive. Riemer is in a bind. Salesperson says we have no choice but to take the carpet with the new "special" installer. 15) We feel like this is a shakedown. What should we do?
