That was over two months ago. Despite multiple calls and texts, I have received no update on the part and no timeline for when my fireplace will be repaired. In the meantime, I have had no heat in my master bedroom through the entire winter. I understand parts can take time, but the lack of communication is unacceptable. A simple update -- even a text-- would go a long way. At this point, I have paid $150 and have nothing to show for it. I hope the business will make this right, but I cannot recommend it based on this experience.

I called around and either couldn't get anyone out quickly or the weekend/"emergency" rate was outrageous. A friend recommended Gas Tech Services, so I reached out a bit desperate. Steve Wallace got back to me fast, asked all the right questions, and suggested a natural gas wall heater as a temporary/backup heat source to get us through the season. He came out on a weekend, in the cold, and handled the gas line work and install like it was nothing. You can tell he's a pipe fitter by trade -- super clean run, everything to code, double-checked for leaks, and took the time to explain how to use it safely. What surprised me most was the price. For a last-minute, winter, weekend visit... I was expecting to get hit hard. His rate was more than fair, and honestly better than a couple places I called during normal hours. Benefits of dealing with small business, instead of these massive nationwide chains that seem to be taking over and controlling the rates is how I view it. The heater has been rock solid and kept the house comfortable enough that we weren't scrambling for space heaters or staying somewhere else. That install basically bought us time to replace the main furnace on our schedule instead of in panic mode. Professional, responsive, and actually cares that the job is done right. We hired Art of Stone to inspect the fireplace and chimney in our new home. The gas fireplace had…read morenot been used in ~2 years, and we weren't sure the condition. Will and his crew were prompt, clean and courteous. Will showed me where our existing chimney was basically falling apart (yay old homes!), and explained how he could rebuild it using reclaimed brick that would match the original. He was very thorough in tracing the gas lines through the property to ensure there were no leaks anywhere, and getting gas restored to the fireplace. He also showed me where there were cracks on the fireplace refectory panels, and sealed them to prevent damage. His crew even vacuumed the gas logs so we weren't burning off dust when we lit the fire. Very highly recommend. We hope to use them in the spring to rebuild our chimney.

Mike showed up and was able to diagnose the problem, clean the fireplace and fix the problem, and was in and out of my house within an hour. The cost was $400, when I called on the phone they said costs usually started at $200, but this was fine by me because I believe he had to replace a part and do a bit more work to get the fireplace to work.
