I have been a customer for almost 30 yrs. I went in to the Tunnel Rd store on 9/16/21 with my front tire going flat. I asked if they could work me in and received an emphatic no and we don't have any appointments until next Friday. I was disappointed because know they are busy but was extremely upset that they did not offer to at least pump my tire up. I got back in my car googled tire shops in Asheville and there was a NTB store just down the road. I went there and they were busy also and could not work me in either but offered to pump my tire up. After doing that they asked if I could come in at 0800 the next morning. I was there and they took care of me completely, They were so friendly and know what customer service is!!. I will never spend another penny at that Firestone store and NTB has my business now. read more

I took my car in for a full oil change + state inspection, which takes more than an hour at this location. I got the state inspection, but was surprised to see my oil light came on just one week later, after their "full oil change." Either they did not do it, or they neglected to put much if any oil in the car. I drove less than 100 miles during that week, so it wasn't from use. I was charged $59.18 for the oil change, which apparently didn't happen. The sales person also tried to sell me four new tires (which I didn't need) for @$600, then said he could put 4 new tires on my car for $495, if that was a better price. When I said no, he then tried to talk me into the Firestone credit card! I'm going back to Valvoline where they do what they say they will do, in about 15 minutes, and don't try to sell you tires & credit cards. read more

friendly, but you had better know what you really need. had a wheel issue we were unsure about. intense grinding and vibration in wheel. lacking the wisdom we trusted their word. could have been worse, issue went away, but they definitely took our ford rotors and put on cheap resurfaced ones at an inflated price. cost about $700 when i couldve gotten resurfaced for less and still had my factory rotors. lesson learned. if i was wiser about vehicles and costs it would have been a fine experience as i would have asked to see my old rotors. they asked before doing any other service so that was at least a positive. even put the old brake fluid back in cause i was poor lol. wish i wouldnt have tho.. im saying 3 out of 5! read more

I was disappointed in how I was treated by staff there when coming in for a warranty issue with my tires. They were all on board about them being worn and needing new ones, but then they treated me like I was stupid when dong the process for selecting new ones. They ran me a quote for new tires stating it was "the tires they selected for me" which included a ton of fees they were t being entirely open about. They wouldn't let me look at any information about the tires and were very hesitant to even talk to me about other options. The man who was buying tires at the counter next to me was given a great deal of information about options and they even let him look at the screen regarding he break down in costs of different varieties. I feel like I may have been treated poorly as I was a woman driving a minivan with car seats and not a man driving a truck. Also, after ordering tires for me which they weren't sure when they would come in (due to Covid and totally understandable) they never called to say they arrived. Spent a long weekend out of town to explore Asheville when I noticed a horrible screeching sound coming from my front left tire the Sunday before my 500 mile trip back to Maryland. Being Sunday, I was relieved to even find a place that was open to look at my car. I called the location at Patton avenue first since it was closer, but the gentlemen I spoke to was dismissive and said the wait time would be very long. I then called the location on tunnel rd and spoke to Josh who took our info right away and was very reassuring that our car would be looked at as soon as possible even though it was already mid way through their work day. Turns out a rock the size of a jolly rancher was caught near our dust shield in the tire. They removed it for no charge and sent us on our way! It was a huge relief to have dealt with such friendly helpful people from start to finish to ensure us a safe trip back to Maryland. read more

PROS: The best customer service I've experienced in a long time, especially in the auto industry. I trusted the advisement given to me. At no point did I feel pressured or that I was getting swindled. The advisor was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain things to me, which made me feel comfortable with what services I chose to get, and confident that the work done on my car would be reliable. CONS: I had a 12:00PM appointment. I arrived early, at 11:15PM. It was estimated that the service would take a couple hours, so I decided to wait while the work was done. I didn't get out of there until after 4:30PM. So, you might want to plan it as an all day affair, or just drop-off your vehicle instead. Brought my 2018 Audi SQ5 in for a full set of new tires and an oil change- was told they could not do the oil change at that time because the oil filter was not in stock. The service writer told my wife and I both that they were going to order the oil filter and call us when it came in so we could bring the vehicle back in for an oil change. 2 months later I call to see if the part came in. It was never ordered. A gentleman by the name of JT said "we do not order parts unless the car is here" - meaning, they wanted me to bring my vehicle back and leave it with them for an undetermined amount of time (they couldn't give me any timeframe on how long the filter would take to arrive) to sit outside off of Tunnel Rd to possibly be broken into or vandalized by the many homeless people that frequent their parking lot. This is my only vehicle- an oil change should take a few hours max- I should not be expected to be without transportation for several days or weeks possibly while you order a part that you didn't even order when you said you would. Absolutely ridiculous, irresponsible handling of customers and their vehicles if this is common practice for this business. I will gladly drive elsewhere for service from now on. read more

Had a dead car battery. Prestige Subaru, who I've used for service since buying the car, is 1 mile away from my home. The soonest they could take me in to do a simple battery replacement was 8 days out... 8 days! I told them I had no access to another vehicle unless I rented one. It made no difference. Not happy, I made some calls and finally reached "Bill" at Firestone. He told me to jump start the car and bring it right in but that it would be an hour and a half wait as they were very busy. An absolutely reasonable wait time for a last minute service call. I arrived and Bill promptly took me out to the car with a battery tester and determined, with me right there, that the battery was indeed in need of replacement and not some other more serious problem. I handed him the keys and went for a walk... 25 minutes later, I got the call the car was done!.. they snuck the car in between lengthier jobs that were waiting to be done. Wow! Talk about great service at the drop of a hat! Prestige Subaru can take a hike, I'll be using Firestone from now on for the types of auto care that they provide. our car's tire was actually about to fall off bc some fOoL at an infinity dealership literally didn't screw it on except for one of the bolt screw thingies but whatever. we could have died but it's fine. we needed to get that fixed and so we called another firestone in asheville and they say no since they were closing in like and hour???? so we called this one and they were like "yeah you pretty much need to come in so your tire doesn't fall off" (not actually an actual quote but you get it) so we bring our car in and my boy derek screwed our tires back on in like 45 seconds, and said that if someone did that at this firestone they would be fired on the spot, which is fair and a good indication that these car fixing men are quite competent. anyway if you need to take your car somewhere this place is a pretty good bet so be nice to the people here. i love you derek. read more

Phenomenal service! I called ahead and the employee I spoke to was extremely helpful. I was able to get in on a Saturday and pick my car up Sunday morning. They were extremely patient with me and answered my questions when I dropped my car off, when they called me after inspecting my car, & when I picked it up. Come to find out when Firestone put my tires on they wrenched the lug nuts on 3/4 of my tires. I took my SUV to have the oil changed at this location and they "found a nail in my tire". They told me the nail was in a location where the tire couldn't be plugged. Stupid me, I told them to go ahead and put on a new, much cheaper tire, without looking at the damaged tire myself. The next day I went to pick up my SUV and I asked for my old tire back (to keep as a spare and to see if I could actually get it plugged). They seemed startled by this request and went to talk to the manger in the back. The manager came out and said my tire had been "left out overnight, and that tires are stolen off their lot frequently". So... my property gets stolen off your lot and I'm not offered any type of compensation? I called back later to speak to the manager and I suggested that they could give me a comparable tire that someone else was getting rid of and he agreed. I checked back for weeks, which turned in to months, and even within this amount of time they could never produce a tire to compensate for what had been stolen from me. I've gone here previously and was treated well. I failed an inspection due to electrical issues. They didn't charge me for my failed inspection. I got the issues fixed, brought it back and they passed me. That was a good experience. I recommended them to my girlfriend for her car. She had a missing light on her drivers side and could not pass inspection. They charged her for the inspection despite the fact that it failed. I know fully what goes into checking the emissions of a car. It's next to nothing. That's no excuse for charging her. My father is a service manager and we both agree that you dont charge for failed inspections. They wouldn't budge on the matter. I've lived in Asheville my whole life and I will never seek service from them or recommend them again. Especially to any of my female friends. I would give them zero stars if I could. read more

Went in to get an inspection (close to closing time) and they found out I had a brake light issue that needed a switch replacement, which needed to be ordered from another store. With only 45 minutes left until they closed, Josh managed to get the part to the store and install it with time to spare. They initially said it was going to take a while as there were other clients ahead of me. This was not the case as the diagnosed, showed me the exact issue and repaired the car in a lot less time than originally quoted. I have had work done at the Firestone a few times in the last several years and I always thought their prices were much higher than local mechanics and my intuition was correct. So, my most recent visit was for a family members car. Long story short...they checked it out and the next day they told me that after the diagnostics was complete the codes would not clear and the car would not stay running when they tried to test drive it. They suggested that a very expensive part needed replacing ($800) and that there was possible engine damage. Not being able to afford that kind of repair, I had the car towed (another $65) to a local mechanic for a second opinion. He ran diagnostics and researched the codes. He cleared the codes and took it for a test drive and it ran just fine. The car is still running fine. This trip to an honest mechanic only cost me $27. I did appreciated Firestone not charging me for diagnostics but I believe it was because the diagnosis was false to begin with. Potential customers beware...go local!! read more

I am an car buff and someone who for years did his own car repairs. I have used many tire stores over the years including competitor stores in Asheville. I have been using this Firestone auto repair center since 2016. The staff are very professional and I have to say that this store has impressed me with their very clear positive customer service approach which is excellent. The technicians are also customer service oriented and everyone there is a pleasure to deal with. The tire purchasing process was handled very well, and there are no surprises. I also like Firestone's road hazard warranty which is much longer than some other tire dealers. They honor their appointments, and the waiting area is clean and neat as is the bathroom, and they are well staffed with technicians. read more

I want to give them 1 star for poor work but because they are nice I give them 2. On July 09, 2014, I took my car to Firestone on Patton Avenue located in West Asheville North Carolina because the right rear tire was making a rubbing noise. They were busy and thought it was a brake issue, they sent me to their other Firestone located on Tunnel Road near Greyhound Bus Station. The right rear tire was loose and needed a wheel hub. Firestone stated they needed to order the part for my Suzuki, Aerio. It should have been fixed the same day but Firestone kept my car for 4 days from July 09, 10, 11 and 12. Eddie and Jason ordered the wrong part. Every day they had an excuse as to why my car was not ready. I had requested time off from work during the month of June so I could spend time with my family who lives in another state. Not only did they charge me nearly $400 dollars but I missed work that entire week and spending time with my family. A few weeks later, on Sunday, August 17, 2014, the same problem resurfaced. The right rear tire begin making a rubbing noise. Because it was under warranty, I took the car to another Firestone located in Woodbridge, Virginia on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. The car is not drivable but I still owe money to the dealer. When Firestone in Virginia took the back right tire off, the wheel hub fail apart metal pieces and all. Today is September 1st and I still don't have my car back. It seems some malevolent person or force is desperate to control my time and out come. I have been a customer for a short time now, my last visit there was fine but not great, so I chalked it up as a bad day. But I went back to them today, 9/24/2016. My wife's vehicle light on her dash came on and said Tire monitor system check inspection. So the man working the counter said I had to much air in my tires and released some pressure in them and told me to drive it about 20 miles and the light would go out, so I drove 75 miles and it never did. So I went back to explain to the same man that the light didn't go out and he acted like he could have cared less and ask me if I had a tire gauge and I said no. So he gave me his tire gauge and sent me on my way, never felt so insulated. So I took it to Discount tire and they showed me the problem it was a censor that works of a battery that had gone dead and they changed it and now the light is off. The other reason for this review is like I said the trip before this one I was getting my oil changed on the same car and he wanted to sell me some new tires, I get it on them trying to sell other items besides just a oil change. But I told the man I could not spend $600.00 right now and would have to wait. So I felt like after I told him that he just wanted to get me done and gone as if I could not afford there service. So I guess now since I haven't bought the tires yet and they seem to remember me as a low income person let's just push them out the door. I would love to buy a set of Firestone tires but I am like most people anymore, I have to wait until I can save the money to do so. I will keep using Firestone, but a different location. read more
