On 5/23/2026, I took my vehicle to Precision Tune Auto Care at 2304 S. Church Street in Burlington,…read moreNC, because my check engine light came on. They performed an EVAP/smoke test, which indicated that the EVAP purge valve and vapor canister needed attention. On 5/26/2026, Precision Tune replaced the vapor canister and the purge valve hose. I was told to drive the vehicle for approximately 100 miles after the repairs. Since my oil change and inspection were also due, I had those services completed as well. My total bill came to $1,280.86. Less than a month later, on 6/27/2026, my check engine light came back on. I called Precision Tune and was told to bring the vehicle back. After inspecting it again, they told me that the purge valve now needed to be replaced because it had a small leak that supposedly did not appear during the original smoke test. I later spoke with the manager and explained that I had contacted the dealership, where I was told they offer complete EVAP repair kits. I asked why I was never given that option during my original repair. The manager explained that the hose was leaking due to a hole, not because of the valve, and that EVAP repairs sometimes have to be completed in stages. My issue isn't that additional problems can be discovered. It's that I was never presented with all of my repair options so I could make an informed decision. Had someone explained that replacing the purge valve at the same time could potentially save me from another repair if it turned out to be faulty, I would have chosen to replace it then. Instead, I'm now facing another repair bill, including additional labor. I expressed these concerns and asked for a reasonable resolution. Other than an apology, no effort was made to address the situation or offer any goodwill assistance. As a customer, I expected better communication and better customer service. What disappointed me most was feeling like the decision was made for me instead of with me. Every customer deserves to understand their options and make informed decisions about their own vehicle and their own money. After I told the manager that I did not appreciate the lack of communication and I would not be doing business he sounded upset and told me to have a good Fourth of July like nothing I said even mattered. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Precision Tune Auto Care. I encourage others to ask detailed questions, request all available repair options, and do their research before authorizing repairs. On July 9, 2026 I went to the Cox dealership and the eye found that the "vac hose on intake off also found tsb." Today, I went back to the dealership since service engine light came back on and it's showing the EVAP code once again and I was advised to go back to Precision Auto Tune. I have not heard anything from my original review after the conversation I had with the manager and need help resolving this issue.

My college-aged daughter who was in NC for school brought her CRV in because the Check Engine Light…read moreand a couple other indicator lights were on. She called to tell me that Womble ran a diagnosis and recommended an oil change and replacement of three parts related to the solenoid. They said this is a common problem with CRVs. My research suggested that issues with these parts could lead to engine knocking, reduced acceleration, reduced fuel efficiency, rough idling, etc. She was experiencing none of that, and that was conveyed to Womble. My research also suggested that solenoid issues are rare in CRVs, and solenoids can often last the life of the vehicle. I called my mechanic in Pittsburgh, and he said if the oil was low or contaminated, it could trigger the indicator lights, and he would start there before throwing three new parts at the problem. We had Womble do the oil change, but they also charged us over $150 for a diagnosis fee. It's been almost three weeks now, and my daughter has since driven the car 14 hours round-trip with no engine issues, and the indicator lights have not returned. I called Womble to request a refund on the diagnosis fee, which I believed to be unnecessary and excessive since a simple oil change fixed the problem. The owner told me he had documented that my daughter said the engine was making noise, even though I have a documented text exchange with her from that day where she specifically said there was no noise and that, other than the warning lights, the car seemed normal. Then the mechanic who worked on the car told me they "inferred a solenoid noise" based on what they were seeing (How in the world can one infer a noise?? It's either there or it isn't). When I asked for a refund on the diagnosis fee, I was told that they pay tens of thousands of dollars on diagnostic equipment, so they can't work for free, and that slavery was outlawed in the '60s (an ignorant, ill-informed comment that I found highly offensive). The mechanic said I was not remembering our original conversation correctly, but he remembers our white CRV clearly (the car is actually silver). I had my daughter choose this business because they generally had positive reviews online, but I feel she and I were taken advantage of. It is my opinion, and the opinion of my personal mechanic, that they could have determined in just a few minutes that the oil needed to be changed and recommended that we start there rather than incurring additional diagnostic fees.

As a former service center manager of a major rental car company, I knew what brand of tires I wanted. I made the purchase online and set up the appointment on there as well. We went in on a Saturday and the parking lot was filled to the max. Was only one spot for me to park the car. I set the appointment as a drop off because I had other things to do that day. As I walked in, it was a lot of customer sitting down, waiting for their cars to be completed. I thought I made the right decision, scheduling it as a drop off instead of waiting for it because it seemed like it was going to take a while because there were so many people there already at that time in the morning. I checked in with someone and then looked towards the garage and noticed there were a lot of people in there working. They sent me on my way and said that I was all set and that they would take care of the car. They have an online system where you can track the status of your vehicle to see if it has been completed. In less than 30 minutes, I checked and seen that my car was done! I couldn't believe it and had to refresh the page again to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me. It indeed was done! Went back to retrieve the car, and went on with the rest of my day. The tires were perfectly installed. Was very impressed with the service I received here, and would definitely come back for any of my tire needs!
