Approximately 4:30 PM on Sunday I had a blowout on a trailer tire on the highway a few miles away from this location. After putting my spare on I called this location and Michael was extremely helpful in locating the proper size and load rating tire and said yes they could do it for me right away when I arrived in about 15 minutes. He and Duane working in the shop were extremely professional polite and helpful and got me back on the road in less than 30 minutes!! especially grateful as I had a flight to catch in Nashville! This place is a scam. They just tried to charge my daughter $800 for brakes by adding all kinds of services she didn't ask for or need. I got this stopped. They still charged her for $10 for trying to scam her. This is a college town with kids on budgets and they are trying this kind of BS. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

This place is horrible. I would recommend just about any other tire shop in the area. It has terrible customer service. I had my car looked at for two slow leaks, and they tried to say they couldn't fix them. They wanted to replace all four tires and were charging $1500. I left the place to go to a different tire shop and found out they left all four tire caps off. read more

There customer service sucks. I went there because my tier was flat and all they did was put air in it. And when I went back to try and get it fixed they told me we can't do that right now. Short version: DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU LIKE HONEST MECHANICS LONG VERSION: I started my day at Valvoline, where I received an oil change, tire rotation, and engine filter replacement. Valvoline told me my tires were okay, but my brake fluid was low. I'm from out of town, so I decided to get my brakes checked at Firestone, since it was conveniently down the street. Prior to arrival, I called to get a quote, where I gave them the make/model/year of my vehicle. Over the phone they quoted me 4 prices: 1. Front pads 2. Front pads + rotors 3. Rear pads 4. Rear pads + rotors After leaving my car there for an hour, I received a phone call with the the following recommendations: 1. Front pads + rotors 2. Back pads + rotors 3. New tires/alignment 4. New cabin and Engine filters (because mine were "really dirty") $1100 When I asked if I could just get rear pads (they were worse off than my front), they said no, they had to do pads + rotors ($375) because of the year my car was built -- I found that interesting given my prior quote via phone only 2 hours earlier (where they asked what year my car was and told me I could do pads alone). Next I asked if they even looked at my filters -- "we don't look at cabin filters, it's just a recommendation based on miles ($65) - we did look at the engine filter though, it was really dirty ($35)" -- if you're still reading this long winded review, you're probably flabbergasted by this response, because I literally watched Valvoline put a brand new filter in my engine only 3 hours earlier! For lack of a better phrase - F*** this place, they are a bunch of crooks. For those inquiring minds..... YES I called the guy out about the engine filter - his shocked, wide eyed response, "oh really, maybe our mechanic misdiagnosed it." ... ya, or maybe you're a bunch of liars! RUN!!! Update: I took my car to a family friend this morning who is a 20+ year ASE Master Technician, he looked at my brakes and told me, not only do I NOT need new pads right now, I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT NEED new rotors. read more

Went in for a simple oil change. Took over 6 hours. The man at the front was immediately rude and did not seem to want to be there at work. To make it worse had a small child and they told me all that was "supposedly" wrong with my vehicle and told me it'd be over $2,000 to fix it. This was highly unusual since recently had just had an overall check on my car (on computer) and nothing ever popped up as being wrong with it. Later that day, my belt just happened to break right after they worked on it and it started smoking, never had one problem with my car until the very day I took it there for a basic oil change. I was traveling from Greenville SC back home to Clarksville TN when I got a flat tire about an hour east of this Firestone location. I got my spare on, but still had 180 miles to go before home and didn't want to drive all that way on a spare. I knew I couldn't make it to this Firestone for a new tire by their closing time, so I called and asked if they could please stay open a bit late for me. Steven the manager agreed. I arrived 25 minutes past closing. Crystal at the front desk and the gentlemen who put on my new tires were both great, even having been at work for a long full day. (I say "tires" because Crystal saw that my two front tires had just come under recall, so they were both replaced.) I was in town for a funeral & had a flat with a piece of wire stuck in the center of the tread.. I bought the tire from Costco originally. Upon looking at the tire, the store manager said they could not patch the tire. Went to the other Firestone in town & they said the same thing. I bought a new one at the location on Willow. When I presented the punctured tire to Costco on my return, they patched it with no problem. So I could not even get a credit for the punctured tire. Unbelievable! read more

We went to the Jefferson St in Cookeville TN location and they wrote us a quote for brakes, rotar pads, flushings etc for almost $1800. We had someone else look at it for another opinion and we only needed one fixed. $1800! we were going to get charged and we didn't even need it. Not only was the service slow when we were there for tires but other patrons came back with issues because nothing was fixed right. You need people in there that know what they are doing. Went to a different tire shop with it and they agreed that firestone was ripping me off or at least trying to. Spent less elsewhere and got more. I caught a flat on 40 and brought it here because they had my tire in stock and others did not. While I was here, I was told my serpentine belt was shot. I wasn't surprised, so I had them put on a new one. All through the next week, upon starting my car or accelerating from a stop (esp with the wheel turned), I've been getting an awful screeching sound. I thought it might be the tire because of when it was happening and so brought it back to have it checked out. Was told some bullshit about rubber being new and making screeching noises. Told my mom and stepdad about this. They immediately knew it was bullshit and, upon listening to it themselves, told me the real problem: the serpentine belt was never readjusted after being put on. This can wear out the new belt and bring its life expectancy down by a lot if not taken care of. The man who looked at my car last week told me to my face that he heard the noise and still said it was "new" tire rubber. I've had to sacrifice my day off two weeks in a row for something they should have taken care of the first time I brought it in, esp since I paid almost $300 for parts + labor. If you have an emergency, or even basic maintenance from the looks of other reviews, look elsewhere. This is not the place. (PS: That said, Breana seems to be the only helpful person there. First they put on the wrong size tire on my car, offered a discount and then said the new tire would be there the previous day well two days later the tire finally arrived and after we got it placed on the tire they put on was more than the originally tire even with the discount! This place is a rip off at best I took my car in a few months ago to get it fixed they said they found the problem they quoted me on a price to fix the problem. I paid them under the assumption that the problem was fixed based on the work they did their fix lasted about a month before I started having all the same problems over again. To the T not a single different problem arose. I go in today because their work is supposedly still under warranty but they won't honor that warranty for their work and then tried to argue with over technicalities. The argument being that it must be something else causing the problems. No your fix didn't last or you fixed the wrong thing. 052617 Cookeville, Tn Firestone. Currently they are charging my wife over $400 for a 2010 F350 King Ranch truck alternator, then adding labor comes to $738. to repair. I had Auto Zone on the other phone telling Firestone that the alternator was only $219. and not over $400. I am in Mn on job assignment and she is in TN going to Texas. My 2011 Ranger was almost stalling out at idle and hesitating badly on the road, so I made an appt with Firestone on S. Jefferson Ave. for a complete tuneup, idle adjustment and replacement of air and cabin filters. Prior to my appt my check engine light came on and I assumed it was time for an oil change (which I decided I would do at a later date). When I brought my truck in and explained my issues to Chuck, he said that instead of going right to a tuneup that he would do an inspection (for some ridiculously low amount of $) and also pull the code that the check engine indicator was throwing, for free. A short time later he came back with a spark plug and indicated they were all good, as well as the wires. He said the issue was a clogged fuel injector (according to the code), which made perfect sense now given what I was experiencing. Anyway, after flushing the fuel system, clearing the lines and replacing the fuel filter the truck ran like champ! They also determined that I didn't actually need a new engine air filter or cabin air filter, but inspected the brakes and advised I get them replaced in the not too distant future. Great service, didn't sell me what I didn't need, made recommendations for what I might need, and corrected my issue for a decent price and in a timely manner. Took 3 hours to put on a new tire due to a road hazard damage to my other tire. Also had to ask them to reset the low pressure warning light on my vehicle, and after leaving I noticed the tire bounced a lot, like it was not balanced. I checked the air pressure next day and it showed 96lbs and the tire showed 40 max air pressure. Called yesterday and set up an appointment for 9AM because I had a coupon. I got there at 8:55 and there were maybe two or three people a head of me. After waiting an Hour and Forty minutes I asked for my key back and left. An oil change takes no more than 30 minutes. Firestone just lost business on BOTH of my cars, and I will not be back. There are many places better in cookeville to get your oil changed and I would recommend doing that. read more

Went there for a tire rotation a while ago, not only were they slow, they kept us there for about TWO HOURS and weren't going to let us go until we agreed to buy new tires. We said no that we didn't have the money at that time, and to just put the bad ones on the rear. They finally did it, but it was a hassle. My wife almost called the police to say we were being held hostage by them. Complained, and gave them a bad review, but it didn't do any good, their system just kept sending me review requests.
