The tech removed it as it could not be re-attached properly. They did not charge me (which I was pleasantly surprised about)! Ok, so I initially came in for brakes, They not only couldn't complete my brakes until two days later (they got enterprise rental for me and got my car to dealership to fix issues but they werent transparent .. I had to get my answers about my car by asking them why it took so long since I brought it in morning I was also in a "bait and switch" where rick quoted brakes 130 per axel while Ed jacked up the price .. they knew the car model and everything but ended much more . Ed stated cause the brakes were different then they thought .... you knew what I had when I called ? They said battery "failed" the test - I feel they have their test always say that cause even the dealership didn't state that ... they said it was good condition and physically saw it verified I could go on but overall this was a terrible experience . To top it off they didn't really compensate me despite fact I lost a lot of time off work and out of state . I basically took what I could get since it wasn't worth wasting time . Only reason I gave them two stars ? Cause they sent my car to dealership for inspection and cause of rental . Don't go here unless you want to waste time. read more

I just purchased a car from Carvana, which btw was a pretty good experience. In fortunately, when we took delivery we noticed the passenger side, rear light cluster housing was warped as if it had been near a heat source. No problem because Carvana wrote it up as an "after sale" issue and is taking care of it through their third party warranty provider. Like all TPW providers they have a network they utilize to deliver their claims. Firestone is one of their providers. This particular location at 901 N Germantown in Memphis was listed so I dropped by this morning to ask how we'd go about getting this cluster replaced. The man at the front was very short with an elderly gentleman in front of me which did not instill confidence in me regarding a successful engagement to begin with. So, I was resolved to be as pleasant as possible because you never know what someone has been dealing with prior to you. Unfortunately, he exhibited the same non-cheery disposition when he addressed me. Worse yet he even cut me off in mid explanation declaring something along the line of "we don't do that" "we can't do that" "we aren't a provider at this location but you can try the one near Wolfchase." Totally rude and disagreeable individual so I gave up trying to explain they were, indeed, listed as a Silver Rock provider, again because he kept interrupting me, and I left. I did stop by the Wolfchase location where I was greeted by Abbey Joestar. She was friendly. She was OBVIOUSLY familiar with the process and was super helpful. In fact I will add a review for that specific location after I finish with them. I mentioned my experience at the N Germantown location and Abbey sincerely apologized and immediately asked, "Was it Jeff? He can be a bit rude at times. He is really nice though." I said that may be but his customer service skills suck because he was even rude to a 78 year man in front of me. She was obviously embarrassed for the company. So, Firestone corporate/franchisee Abbey has so far saved you this business as well as any future business warranty or not, but only for this location. I'll NEVER darken the door of 901 N G'town again and anyone reading this I'd recommend driving just a bit further to Wolfchase. You'll be glad you did! read more

They charged me $900 to fix my oxygen sensors and change my oil. They then proceeded to spend 2 hours "servicing" my car (while actually doing nothing but wasting my time and money) before telling me that even though my check engine light was still on, it's just a technicality and they fixed it. It was not, "just a technicality" because my car broke down the next day. And they didn't even change my oil. Literally 24 hours after they "serviced" it, my car is completely unable to drive and won't even turn on. I am appalled at the incompetence and dishonesty of this location. I had to wait longer than expected, so I left and returned once it was ready. Covid guidelines were in place, which was good. This is more a review of the actual service person who mounted/balanced my tires. I'm always hesitant to use brand name shops because they tend to hire the lowest rent mechanics and techs possible. But I didn't have a choice due to not knowing the area very well. I brought in my own tires to be mounted. Everything was well balanced. The tire's low side was even lined up with the valve stem. That's something I've pretty much never seen anyone do anywhere, even though you're supposed to. I don't remember the gentleman's name(He was probably the oldest person there), but he honestly did the best mount/balance job I've seen anywhere. Can't speak for their other services. But tire mounting/balancing is A+. read more

I rang up to ask when they could install 2 tires I was getting online. They were able to fit me in early morning so I could drop my car in the evening then pick it up and still get to work in reasonable time. The Service Agent (Mike) then asked what I was paying online and when I told him he was able to match that with similar tires that they had in stock. The price quoted included tax and everything which I always like and that was the price when I turned up. I knew that the alignment needed doing and they confirmed that and when I picked my car up they had reset the error on the Tire Pressure Monitoring system. I guess they saw a woman coming and decided to stick it to me! Went in on 5/22 with air conditioner issues - my AC was blowing warm air. For $58, they did an "inspection" and came back and said I needed a new compressor, expansion valve, a new condenser, a condenser fan assembly, a new evaporator, a freon recharge, and a new cabin air filter. The grand total was $2,489. WOW! I told the arrogant guy that was trying to sell me this load of crap that this seemed quite extreme. He laughed and said well, that's what all should be done, and you'll be glad you did it. I told him no way was I doing all that, that it was ridiculous. He got irritated with me after that comment, and I paid for the inspection and left. I took the car the next day to a mechanic that was recommended to me by a trusted co-worker. Thank goodness I did! Turns out, all I really needed was a relay switch replaced and a new fan motor. $500. Quite the difference between $500 and $2,500!! He told me that the quote from Firestone was absolutely ridiculous and that it was quite extreme and that he suspected someone had to meet a quota. He said nobody ever needs that amount of work and that much replaced all at once and he said that is absolutely worst case scenario, and that it almost never happens. Well, Firestone will never get my business again, especially this location. Me and my new mechanic had a good laugh over the ridiculous quote and I'm happy to have a new HONEST mechanic! My AC is now blowing ice cold air for a fraction of the shyster's quote from Firestone. read more

The inside is clean and they are very attentive to your needs. They are fast and detailed with there work not making you sit around all day. This review is specifically for the Firestone at 901 N Germantown Pkwy Cordova, TN 38018. The current manager is John Champion. He must be relatively new because this was my first time to deal with him. Let me begin by saying that I have been taking my cars to this Firestone for probably 15 years. In that time they have been easy to work with and they have done very good quality work. I dropped my car off a couple of weeks ago for an oil change. The manager, John Champion gives me a call and says they were damaging the oil drain plug trying to get it out, would I be okay with purchasing a new one. I said yes (it was around $12.00); that kind of damage is very common and I completely understood. I get a call back a little while later and it is John again. This time he tells me they can't get the drain plug out at all, and asks if he has my permission to use an impact tool on it. He wanted my permission because he said it might damage the oil pan. I had to ask a lot of questions and I finally got it from him that they wanted to use an impact chisel and that it would very likely damage the oil pan. He quoted me $1,000.00 to replace the oil pan if it was damaged. He was not forthcoming with information (I really, really had to dig to discover the impact "tool" was a chisel and not a standard impact "wrench") and he was extremely rude. He became angry at my questioning and constantly talked over me. I told him not to do the work. A couple of weeks later I finally had the opportunity to take it to another shop to see what they could do with it. They tapped on a 12-point socket that was a size to small (the plug was damaged by Firestone) then just twisted it off. No issues at all. I was in and out in 15 minutes. We are talking about removing an oil drain plug; doesn't get much simpler than that in the world of auto repair. In my opinion he was either trying to scam me or just simply incompetent. In any case I no longer trust this location to work on my cars and I feel strongly enough about it to advise others to avoid them as well. read more

Seem to be in here often lately. These guys at this location seem to care about doing a good job. If you need to they will break down and explain to you what is wrong no matter how confusing it may be. They are real nice and chat it up if you want to. I do however get a sense of them trying to push or sell you things even if you dont really need it. lol but that is my opinion and just business. I went on the Firestone Complete Auto Care website. It clearly states what's included in the tune-up service. I was given the impression their practice is to not tell you what's included in their services so they can tell you you're car needs things you didn't bring your car in for. They've lost my trust. I took my van to get an oil change and picked it up the next day. 25 miles away from the store my rear main seal blew out. Firestone sent an adjuster out to investigate and found that the seal blew out due to normal wear. Not due to the technician overfilling the oil. Also the same technician forgot to change the air filter that Firestone charged me for. Now I am stuck with a broken van and all the repair bills. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH FIRESTONE!!!!!! The only reason they got one star is one star is as low as you can give. read more
