I just left the store, and as always, it was a bad experience. I paid an extra $100 for the alignment when I bought the car. A friend recommended this shop, and later regretted it -- but I took the recommendation and now I regret it every time I go there. Today Kevin was the one who helped me. Nothing against him personally -- he's a new kid just following orders. The real problem is whoever gives those orders. Or is it company policy? The fact is he refused to rotate the tires because, according to him, the tire was "bald." I explained that he was probably mistaken, since the wear indicators showed exactly the opposite of what he was saying. When he was confronted and saw his argument fall apart, he switched to another excuse: that the tire was old (2022) and already had 4 years of use. I explained again that this is normal -- tires do not expire, there is no legal expiration date, and manufacturers recommend visual inspection annually after 6 years or if there are cracks on the sidewalls, and replacement after 10 years. Once again Kevin had no response. Instead of calling someone more experienced to help him or a supervisor to deal with the customer, he finally said the tire was too worn on the tread and that for that reason he couldn't rotate the tires -- only do the alignment that's already scheduled for Sunday. I only go there (and keep going) because I already paid for the service on both cars. But when I sell them, I will NEVER go back, and I strongly recommend you don't go either. Note: I wish no harm to Kevin or the store. But these policies of trying to force the sale of new tires just because the current ones are "old" are bad even for the environment. Tires should be replaced when they reach the wear indicators -- that's what they're there for. Not when the store owner or Kevin's manager orders him to push the sale. Stay away from these Firestone stores. read more

I took my car in for two new tires and an alignment from my lifetime alignment. When I got the car back it still pulled to the left. I finally was able to take it back in and they said the alignment is perfect it's the tires. But it was pulling before that's why I took it in. My wife had a slow leak in both front tires based on the pressure sensor on a brand new car. We brought the car in three times to Firestone and they claimed they couldn't figure out the source of the leak, and suggested my wife purchase two new tires... for $900. We brought the car to Allen Tires about a mile away and within a half hour they had found a nail - in each of the front tires - and patched both tires for $60. Either they are incompetent or very dishonest. Really hard for me to understand how they couldn't locate the source. There was a nail in each. read more

I hate that I have to write this since my family has gone to firestone for years. I brought my car in to check my tire on my 2013 honda accord. I had that tire replaced-great. While i was there i thought it be a good idea to get a vehicle inspection since i hit 100k miles. They recommended a coolant flush that they said could wait 5k miles, but that i should replace my battery even though the car was starting. I did it because i didnt have a reason not to trust them up until this point. My car caught on fire the next day and less than 10 miles of driving it due to their negligence. Claims teams has been inconsistent in communication. The car was a total loss and i had planned on driving it to 200k. At the very least i would hope they deliver on a refund. I cannot in good faith ever recommend firestone and will make sure my family, coworkers, and friends know that too. Take a look at the photos. This is additional information: After 3 sets of 4 heavy duty Bridgestone Duravis tires I got two flats in a couple of months. I realize now that Firestone had never changed the tire stems, which is why I had two flat tires in as many months. I always give "props" when they are well deserved. I don't know if this Firestone is under new management, but THEY HAVE REALLY STEPPED UP ON EFFICIENCY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! I went in to get new tires, and they also did a complete assessment of my car-free of charge- they DID NOT PUSH ANY SERVICE ON ME.... They did go over with what they discovered. Thinking they "might have" tried to coerced me, I was soon alleviated, when FIRESTONE suggested that I should take my car to the dealer where every"issue" reported was validated. And they were right in doing so. The dealer listed even MORE SERVICES MY CAR NEEDED! AND EVERYTHING (NO JOKE) was either $109.99 -OR- $397.00! Oh- except for my driver's side airbag--$998.00 !!! . So, I'm going to head back to Firestone and have them "replace" and/or "repair" what they can, and then take my car possibly to Bay Auto on Newport Blvd. **If anyone reading this knows of a better car mechanic, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MESSAGE OR INFORM ME VIA REPLIES/COMMENTS. First time I went there they charged me 19.95 for a Uber/ Lyft safety inspection, same exact inspection requirements. Second time they charged me for both inspections almost $40. then they said my tires would not pass because the very outside edge was under 2/32. Which is BS. the tire tread depth is measured in the main field of the tire, not on the outside edge!! I have gone thru numerous DOT safety inspection as a commercial driver, So I know the laws. They just wanted to sell me tires and alignment which was unnecessary. I will NEVER go back there again! read more

A) Don't rob customers by deceiving them that the guarantee comes with the new tires when it is optional. Then give no receipt in order to cover it up. I never consented to that charge. A restaurant doesn't bring me a side I never asked for, tell me it comes with the entree, then charge me for the side I never wanted. So Dissapointed. I brought my kia Forte to this location for brakes and rotors. Not long after, I kept hearing a screeching noise when braking, so I brought the car by for them to inspect. This happened 3 times and each time, all they did was say "that's normal...its brake dust, etc." Now a DIFFERENT Firestone is telling me that the rotors need replacing AGAIN and that I should've taken it back for the original Firestone to inspect. Kia SUCKS, so I took it to you, hoping that the great service I and my wife had previously recieved would continue. I wish I could leave no stars! I attended the Firestone in Laguna Hills, and said I would like all brakes replaced since they needed it and were under warranty plus rotors if needed, they then said only brakes needed changing. This was in May. Then I started having bad unsafe noises since and then took to the firestone on 17th street in Costa Mesa a few days ago and the replaced the brakes again then proceeded to tell me I needed new Rotors, new tires, new front axel, new front control arm. This was over $2000 in repairs they quoted me. I then took my car to a more expensive shop for a second opinion and they stated the brakes were installed incorrectly they were not safe , the resurfacing on the rotors was incorrect and caused it to be an extremely uneven surface, and that my rear bearings need to be replaced. The bill this more expensive shop was maybe a third of the cost for firestone and Firestone even charged me $200 yesterday. In two days I have had to have new brakes put on twice because of Firestone and new Rotors now because of how badly they were resurfaced. Firestone made my vehicle not safe to drive and I have a 7 year old daughter in the car with me to watch out for, I will never take my car there again and I was with them for a bit, they were where I took my car for maint, never again and I will tell everyone I know the same. I should recieve a refund for the $200 from yesterday because its not right. The second firestone even told me that Laguna hills resurfaced my rotors wrong, so they added to me having to get the replaced even sooner. read more

I would absolutely tell anyone I know NOT to use the Firestone Complete Auto Care on 17th Street in Costa Mesa CA. They are incompetent and will ripe you off if they have the chance. They took me for over $1700 of unnecessary auto repairs and covered it up. I moved to the area in June 2020 and needed my Jeep serviced and also wanted my brakes checked as they were not feeling right. I went to the Costa Mesa Firestone and they completed the service, changed the brake fluid and said they brakes are good but may need done at the next service. I was satisfied. In November 2020 I started having some overheating issues. My Jeep hit 120k miles and it was time for a tune up, brakes and I wanted them to take a look at the cooling system issue. They did a pressure test and said it needed a new radiator, thermostat and hoses. I agreed and they did the work. I spent $3,400 for the tune-up, brakes and coolant system replacement. The cooling system alone was $1,721.42. When I picked up the Jeep on a Saturday evening, I drove it for about 10 minutes and it started overheating again. I called Firestone and told them that it was still overheating and that I would bring it in Tuesday as I had work appointments on Sunday and Monday. I asked them to keep the radiator since it seemed that was not the problem. I went through 3 gallons of Antifreeze on Sunday and Monday as I couldn't figure out where I was loosing it. It seemed to me to be coming back out of the overflow reservoir. My mechanical skills are low. On Tuesday morning the Jeep really started overheating. Luckily I was with my cousin who has good mechanical skills. We discovered that the problem was a $5 hose clamp which was not holding a seal. We went and bought a new clamp and installed it and no problems since. It appears the problem the entire time was the clamp which would not tighten correctly , therefore not holding pressure in the system. I went to Firestone on Tuesday afternoon and told them what happened. I showed them the clamp and my receipts for the clamp and antifreeze. The front desk said they would inform the manager about what happened and that he would give me a call the next day. Wednesday came and went and I heard nothing. I called on Thursday and left a message for the manager to give me a call and nothing. I went into the Firestone personally and spoke with the manager. I asked to see the radiator, but he informed me that they had disposed of it. I asked what he saw as the resolution to my complaint and he said they would reimburse me for the antifreeze and clamp, but that was it. I really think they ripped me off. The overheating, discovering the clamp issue and having my cousin fix the problem took about 2 hours in total broken down on the side of the road. I missed a business appointment and had to reschedule. I really think and feel that they did unnecessary work either on purpose or due to gross incompetence. Whatever you do, do not use Firestone Complete Auto Care in Costa Mesa. read more

Scheduled an appointment for new tires with Fabian. He was able to quote me a price that was satisfactory. This review has nothing to do with him. Took the car in and dealt with a different guy (Ismael?). Dropped the car off. He called me two hours later saying the check engine light came on. He quoted me $100 to diagnose it. I declined the offer. Picked the car up the same day and asked about that check engine light. He said the light (magically) turned off. Take this review for what you may. They sold me "the only" tires that would fit my car, along with other services that I didn't ask for nor wanted.
