SCAM!!! Do NOT go here unless you want them to steal your money. I purchased 2 tires here for $1600, yes $800+ per tire. I'm not disputing the cost even though it's outrageous. No, the tires were not gold plated, just massive mark up. They were only able to install one tire. They were not able to get the other tire off due to a wheel lock, which they stripped the key trying to take off incorrectly. I then went to purchase another wheel key on my own dime, again they stripped that too and still were not able to take the 2nd tire off. At that point I just said refund me for the 2nd tire as I had already spent over 1 month and 4 trips to their location. Manager (Jesse) said he had to submit it to corporate and would take 2 weeks (funny how the charge only took 5 seconds). So I've been dealing with corporate (Monro Auto Service) for over 2 months to get my $800+ refund. I've called them 4x, each time they acknowledge the refund due, but state they need a manager approval and would get back to me. Same story each time. So no refund and lots of wasted time. I've filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, as their charge and refund practices are illegal and super slim shady. FYI, don't pay for all tires up front, only pay for what they install that day. So if you want to play russian roulette with your hard earned cash, take your chances. Otherwise find another tire place that isn't shifty and dishonest. read more

Came in the day after Christmas because I had gotten quoted out at a couple of places and here seemed to be a good deal. Started out with me just looking to plug a couple of nails in a tire, both places I took it to before finding here, said it couldn't be done, I needed a new tire. I had come to the conclusion after being told that 3 times that I just needed to buy a new tire, when I took it in and had them look at it, to my surprise they said it didnt need replacement that they could reliably plug it and get me back on the road. They definitely took good care of me, saved me from spending hundreds of dollars I don't yet need to spend and had me back on the road safely in short time. Honesty goes a long way, especially in the car repair business, the fact that he didn't just sell me tires and was honest about being able to patch them, they've got me as a repeat customer from here on out! read more

I had to get TWO tires patched up due to all the debris and hazards in the road from nails and left screws. Allen tire was immediately available and was able to fix my two rear tires in a fast timely manner. Very good rates on tires and fast service. Tim is very knowledgeable on all tire brands and the different systems that read tire pressure on all the different car models. After fixing my tires and inflating them to the proper PSI the dashboard said they were still under proper PSI. He told me to drive for a block or two and they would reset. I didn't know that the newer cars had a reset system like that. All I had to do was drive for a bit and sure enough it reset itself and I was good to go. Will definitely come here to get a new set of tires soon as their customer service and work is on point. read more

Group On Scam: Avoid Allen Tire sin Costa Mesa + Fountain Valley. Went to Costa Mesa location got bunch of sales BS by someone who could care less about his job. How it works after you buy the Group On oil deal they try to up-sell you to full synthetic. In both locations they refused to put synthetic blend oil in my car because they car manufacturer "recommends" full synthetic. But they can't show me anything that states that's a policy and They Have Done It Before! No where on Group On or Allen Tires website or their own coupon mailers they mail out ever mention "recommend" oil type by OEM - in other words this type of exclusion. (that's against law) And both places offered different "make up" deals for the problem. One would take $10 off while other $20 if I didn't right then. So, looking at $90 all in, when can get it done down the street for $68.00 (full synthetic) Avoid the cheesy sales tactics and most importantly your time. Got my oil done plus free car wash by a business that knows value of getting a customer at a competitor's expense. read more

I purchased the voucher off of Groupon for an oil change on 9/20 (no where does it say you need an appointment by the way) I showed up and the guy in the office says I needed an appointment... he scheduled one for me 9/23 @330. I get there and the guy in the office at that time tells me they have no one available and suggests leaving my car.:. Then the original guy who schedule my appointment comes out and tells me "my bad we don't have anyone to help you we're super small and super backed up"... if that's the case maybe don't advertise your shop for new customers? The other off putting part about this whole situation is one of the guys asked me "so why did you come here.:. Why us?" I'm getting the feeling at this point that my business is not wanted or that I'm bothering them.. it's JUST an oil change. Why did they even offer to schedule an appointment? This place is where you go if you want your money taken right from your hands First time I used these guys they replaced my tires with tires I bought, and instead of giving me back my original tires, they decided to keep them and say nothing. So they took 4 of my tires. (I didn't really care abt them, but just crazy they kept them and said nothing) Second time I went was to get a wheel alignment and 4 wheels balanced because my steering wheel was shaking badly. They give me my car back and it still drove to the right. and the shakiness was actually worse. I take it back again and they tell me all 4 of my rims are bent and completely unrepairable, which they would've already saw with the original work, but decided to take my money. The rims did happen to be bent from my second opinion, but not all of them. And this work was done from TWO different managers at the same location. Absolutely crazy Allen Tire Co has an act for hiring scammers. Less than 0 stars for these guys. If I could give these guys 10 stars, I would. If there not your tires guys, they should be. In a time we're people don't care about each other, (and that's perfectly normal), these guys saved me!! I rented a truck on turo to pick up a washer and dryer from my friends in Carlsbad, I live in LA. On the way back home I noticed my tire was low on air, real low...about to blow out low. Went to Big O tires, and they didn't have an interest in helping, seeing as it was already 4 o'clock on Sunday. Called around and Allen's was open until 5. Saying these guys were friendly and helpful is a understatement, because the guy I rented the truck from didn't have the tire jacket in the truck!!! So they couldn't patch it or even change it. They finally decided to patch the tire why'll it was on the truck!!! They didn't even charge me, they were just worried about me getting home!!! It was my plan to get tires anyway, but the plan had to be expedited because of an unplanned flat on the 405 at rush hour. "Donut" spares are not the smoothest ride, so my hope was to get new wheels right away. Everywhere I looked, the tires were out of stock. They are probably all sitting in the boat party lineup leading to the Long Beach Harbor. Along with all of Santa Claus 's deliveries. After hours of searching online, it looked like I found something! They were in stock at Allen Tires in Costa Mesa! I signed up for an appointment the next day. Tim called the next morning to say, nope. No tires in stock , but that he would find them and get me squared away. He placed the order and true to his word, the wheels rolled in late this afternoon before closing. They got me right in when I arrived and are working on my car as I type. The mechanic is singing a happy song as he works. And I am sitting outside watching a pretty sunset. Post note: The technicians who worked on my car, Jose and Enera, were speedy quick and efficient. They wiped down my spare "donut", filled it with air, and replaced it in its compartment. Everything was done in less than an hour! Wow!
