I got a tire replaced here in January 2020. Almost immediately after, they started hounding me to replace the other 3 tires every time I went in for an oil change. Despite the fact that 2 of those tires were less than 2 years old. So what happens? The tire they replaced is the one that blew out. I bring it in today to get it replaced, and ask to be called before they begin work, as I didn't want to get saddled with any unknown charges. I get no call and so after an hour I head back over. The worker comes out to tell me they replaced ALL FOUR TIRES. Without my permission and without a quote given to me or a phone call before commencing the work. I had them remove the tires. The worker gave me a great deal of attitude, saying they did what I asked for (no) and tried to tell me the tread is probably greatly reduced on the back tires because I haven't been rotating them (again, no). I've barely driven this car in the past year b/c I've been working from home, because pandemic. After 2+ hours, I go to check out and get charged $200 for the warrantied tire. Turns out it's not a real warranty, the tire is pro-rated based on mileage/tread use since they installed the tire. Also, the tire is filthy and looks like garbage. I'll be finding somewhere else to get my oil changed and my new tires from now on. Any other local businesses want my money and customer loyalty? Let me know. read more

DO NOT COME HERE !!! Yesterday 6/28/22 at 5pm, my friend had a flat so I told her to come here and ask to out the soare tire on until we can take it back to the dealer being we just bought the car. We specifically told them front driver side has a flat and I asked them to put the spare on that one. I spoke to them personally because my girlfriend doesn't know anything about cars. The next morning I asked her how is the car she tells me the tire pressure light is back on and the tire that I told them to change still had a flat. I told her to show me the car and it comes to be that they put the spare tire on the RIGHT BACK !! I called them back and asked them what did they do to the car and the guy I spoke to told me he "personally" put the tire on the left front so I asked him how it magically appear on the right back side ? He basically accused us of going somewhere else and they changed the tire.. I don't know how to change tires, my girlfriend doesn't know anything about cars but i do know my right from my left. Just the fact that he accused us as if she went somewhere else and they changed it...GET THE SECURITY FOOTAGE OF HER GOING IN AND HOW SHE CAME OUT !! PLEASE MANAGEMENT GET ME THAT FOOTAGE AND PROVE ME WRONG !! I know 1,000% the tire was never changed. I must be blind ! I must be blind ! Gotta say, don't know how we ended up here. We were in Putnam Valley for an event, when we understood the severity of our tires. To our knowledge, we had a nail in the tire from the morning and got it plugged. However we noticed while getting the back tire plugged that one of the front tires were balding. We called a BUNCH of places for prices for tires and installation and Firestone in Danbury had the best price. At first, we didn't think we could make it to the shop in time for all four tires to be replaced, so we were okay with purchasing the tires and taking them back to our zip code to get them installed. However upon arriving to the shop about 30 minutes to closing on a Saturday evening, we happened upon the same representative we spoke with over the phone: Reese Simpson. He had the tires available obviously, but said he would help us out with the installation, being we were over an hour away from home and it was on and off raining/sleeting in the are (mind you it's June -.-). Reese explained that all of our tires were on their way out, and we had done the best thing, but was just happy he could help us. The pricing was exemplary, the service was superb, and the speed was shocking. We were on our way just before 6PM, closing time. Bottom line, with all the mixed reviews, if you want 5-star service ASK FOR REESE SIMPSON!! Please give Reese a raise or promotion. The man is the definition of a proper businessman/laborer. We cannot thank him enough!!! read more

Went there today 12/20/2019 to buy two tires, the manger with a straight face offered me two tires an alignment for almost $500, I complained about the price been extremely high and he went down to $390 but I said not thank you, went to Firestone In West Haven and Paid for the say tires $250.. I think this is my first 1 star review... I had a coupon for oil change & tire rotation, kill two birds with one stone. I walk out to my car and see all the brake dust on my front 2 tires still & the back 2 are clean. So I went back to the office & asked the guy if they rotated my tires & he said YES. Went back out, examined the tires closer...no finger marks, no sign of rotation at all. If you change tires, the front go to the back & you see the dusty front ones are now the back tires. This guy either was nervous I would be mad that he forgot to change my tires & lied to me because he thought I wouldn't notice or just straight up lied. There is no excuse for this. I had to rush back to work & could not go back to demand he rotate them so I had to leave. I called on my way back to ask again & a different person answered & she said she did not know. She made no attempt to get to the bottom of my issue. I have heard nothing but horrible stuff about all Firestones & this one continues that trend. Unless they check this & I get a response with an apology, they will remain at 1 star...DO NOT GO HERE, THEY LIE TO YOUR FACE. read more

My car's tire was filled with a lump of fix-a-flat and needed to be replaced. The man who answered the phone listened to my story, gave me directions to the shop and worked on my car immediately. He was kind and honest and didn't gauge me. The waiting room was comforting and felt very homey yet professional. I was amazed at how smoothly things went, when I pulled off the highway in desperate need of a new tire on a Sunday afternoon I was not expecting speedy service like this. read more

On 9/28/2015 I brought my BMW Z4 because I had a flat tire. The brand is run flats, since that brand it is way to expensive I was trying to get something a little cheaper. The employee that helped me stated that for safety reasons he could not sale me another brand and mount the tires, I was planning on buying two front tires. This employees was very arrogant and cocky. He didn't even try to help me even thou I explained that I'm not from Danbury, and I had to go back to work in Philadelphia PA. I ended up finding Greco Tire and Auto care and buying four new tires!!! They were great, fast and very helpful! Nothing compared to Firestone. read more

They take advantage of their customers. Ironically, they have a quote about honesty above their garage door, but they did not behave honestly with me. They convinced me to fix the car when the car had no driving issues - I confirmed this with others knowledgeable about cars. They are the classic example of a service shop that makes you feel you were duped every time you agree to fix anything you didn't know was wrong with the car. Long story short: get your oil changed or get something fixed you know is wrong. do not trust them when they try to up-sell anything. AVOID IF POSSIBLE. read more

We popped a tire on our new Honda Fit in Sturbridge, MA, heading down to NYC the Friday night of Columbus Day weekend. After driving 50 MPH on the donut a couple hours, we stopped at a Quality Inn. Next morning we tried tire stores and called Honda dealers from there to NYC, but nobody had the matching Firestone tire (with just 3000 miles on it, we just wanted 1 tire; even the independent tire store told us we should buy the exact matching tire if we could, instead of trying to sell us a comparable one). Several Firestone locations had the matching tire, but *nobody* had a service appointment free until Tuesday. The manager at Firestone Danbury, Brian, squeezed us into the schedule. "It's an emergency", he said -- it certainly felt that way to us. He even took the time to pull up our owners' manual afterwards and go out and reset the tire pressure sensor; so we wouldn't be worried about the low-pressure trouble light the whole way home. We are less than impressed by Honda's alloy rims, but we really appreciate the excellent care from this Firestone dealership. We had never used Firestone service before, but we will look for you in the future. Brian said he'd been there since before the Bridgestone merger; we want our cars taken care of by an operation with that kind of stability and experienced, knowledgeable people who show real concern for us. Came in with a flat tire, was sold a new tire because they said the other one was irreparable. After paying, requested to look at the old tire, it was a patchable nail hole. They said it wasn't but it was clearly a lie. Should have read the previous reviews on yelp and everywhere because they are true. They lie to you and sell you things you don't need. You will feel duped every time you leave. Go to any other shop than this one. read more

I took my car in for a oil change and they came back with a "laundry" list of services and repairs recommended. Some of which (alignment / sway bar) which were already done at another shop. Be careful they will defiantly try hard to up-sell, if you are going for a oil change or tire rotation they are great. If you don't know much about cars, they will try to sell unnecessary services. read more

Noticed the tire on my passat was low. went to put air in and saw the nail in the middle of the tire. As it was after 530pm I checked on line to see if Firestone was open and drove over. I explained to the manager at the location my problem. He checked the tire quickly and said I was out of luck he couldn't repair it but could get another new matching tire for me. I asked why the tire couldn't be plugged as the nail was not in the sidewall. He said "we don't plug tires here its against the law- we use a patch from the inside, but your tire has the "ring of death" along the outside wall and is not repairable." I have some basic understanding of cars and have worked on them, made basic repairs etc... and have heard that phrase "ring of death". I looked at the tire closely and saw no issue with the sidewall, no scuffing, no rubber damage, no chewed rubber, nothing other than some road dirt and told him so. He responds by saying "what you don't trust me, do you think I'm lying to you?" I thanked him for his time and left. As I was leaving I could see him complaining to the female customer in the waiting area about my questioning him. I ended up driving to a small tire shop a block away that was still open, ran by two guys Sergio and Carlos. Carlos works for another local tire shop during the day and works with Sergio at his small tire shop after work. They removed the tire, checked for sidewall damage, saw no evidence of such, and proceeded to remove the tire from the rim, patch the puncture from the inside, remount the tire and reinstall it. Now I've worked with this Firestone location before and have purchased tires there. The woman manager who was at this location was transferred- she was always honest and fair with me. The guy they have managing it now I have no use for- I think he saw me in a suit and tie and tried to pull one over on me. I'll take my business elsewhere in the future read more
