Frustrating first and last experience. A nail in a tire on a Saturday for a night worker with one day to get it done, a Sunday. Looked on line all morning to find the tire, located it and made an appointment. By Far not the best price, but had to get it done. Called before I went to confirm the online appointment and tire availability. Representative confirmed the appointment and tire selection. Drove 45 minutes to the location, walk in and told the tire is not there. They can order it. When a prospect / customer calls to confirm an appointment, make sure you have the tire there. read more

I used to go here all the time, last time I went the tech had no idea what he was talking about saying my carrier bearing needed to be replaced and I drive a rwd vehicle that doesn't even have a carrier bearing because it's a single piece driveshaft. I took my car in for an oil change, air filter change, and other "routine maintenance" and somehow got my car back in far worse shape than it arrived. I was told the AC *mysteriously broke* while with them, allegedly based on nothing they did, and it would cost $1200 to fix. I have never had a single issue with the AC. Adding insult to injury that Firestone refused to fix an issue they created, I got a quote from another auto shop - without telling them what Firestone quoted - and they quoted me at $500 less. That shop also told me two of the "routine maintenance" items I'd done at Firestone's suggestions were unnecessary for my vehicle. I asked two other shops if they thought it was likely my AC just happened to go out while in their care and both told me it was fishy. Have never experienced such awful service by an untrustworthy business in my life. I never leave reviews, but this felt worth writing. read more

I made an appointment over the phone by explaining what happened to my car. I spoke with Kevon and he listened without rushing or interrupting me, then told me what he felt was the best action to move forward. I was able to make an appointment that day. While there, they explained to me what their findings were and what my options were moving forward. I never felt pressured and only spent an hour waiting for the work I received. It seemed a bit pricey but it was work that I needed to get done...so I really had no other choice. All in all, I had a positive experience. read more

I am posting a revised version now that hopefully meets the company's guidelines. --- On Monday, July 20, 2015, the engine on my 2009 Chevrolet Traverse suffered a catastrophic engine failure while on a family trip to Florida. The car was traveling at posted highway speeds on Florida's Turnpike, when suddenly, without any warning, the car shuddered for about 5-10 seconds; then, the check engine light flashed; and about 2 seconds later, we heard a loud BOOM and felt the explosion as well. I could see some small debris flying behind my car, as well as a cloud of gray smoke. We used our momentum to move to the right and then to the right-hand emergency pull-off lane on the Turnpike, on a portion that did not have a shoulder. Once I determined that I could safely exit the vehicle, I assessed that the issue was not related to a tire rupture, but saw a small pond of clear motor oil - about 1-2 cups, ultimately - form next to the car. We also took a moment to express our blessed fortune that the incident did not end with a much greater cost. I had the car towed to a Chevrolet dealership with which I had a previous relationship. Upon inspection, they discovered that the crankcase had been filled with approximately 12 quarts of motor oil - which was far in excess of the 5.5 quarts that are recommended for the crankcase of my make, year, and model vehicle. They also observed a hole that was made when one of the engine components penetrated and exited the sidewall of the engine during the catastrophic failure. My last oil change -- performed by the Firestone Complete Auto Service location at 512 Pisgah Church Road in Greensboro, NC -- occurred about 18 days prior to the issue. I had not accessed the hood or crankcase after the oil change, because I entrust that the professionals have properly done their job. I managed to drive 1,600 miles prior to the catastrophic failure -- almost entirely consisting of short-haul, around town hops -- prior to the lengthy, 800-mile sojourn from Greensboro, North Carolina to Southeast Florida. It is worth noting that the longer trip was split into chunks of no longer than 2.5 to 3 hours between stops -- though the last leg, driven in 98-degree temps, lasted about four hours prior to the engine failure. As part of its analysis, the Chevrolet mechanics noted that with a car of my age, it is surprising -- but not unexpected -- that the catastrophic failure would take time to build - the pressure situation, as it built, would take the path of least resistance to manifest itself. Upon inspection, the Chevrolet maintenance team noted several gasket leaks where oil had emerged as the pressure built -- notable, as no previous oil leaks have ever been observed from this car. Finally, with no other relief from the building pressure, the catastrophic eruption led to the ejection of a rod through the engine sidewall and an immediate and complete shutdown of the engine block. On July 24, Firestone opened a claim and assigned a Chicago-based resource to handle the case. He promptly went on vacation, so we worked our way up the food chain placed our inspection request in front of a supervisor in the department. After two weeks of inaction, Firestone's insurer finally sent a third-party inspector to observe the vehicle on Monday, August 3, and to examine the evidence (both physical and testimonial). The insurer ultimately decided to reject the claim -- not on the basis that they didn't believe that the oil was overfilled, but that there was NO WAY that the car could possibly have traveled 1,600 miles without experiencing the failure. This was a car that we purchased new; that was meticulously maintained (records kept); and had been paid off last fall. You know, as well as I do, that once a car is paid off, it is your hope that the car starts paying YOU back. We expected to get at least two years more out of this vehicle and had no reason to feel otherwise. Within the last 120 days, we also spent thousands of dollars on new tires, new spark plugs and other replacements to keep the car running at its best. We feel like Firestone took something from us, through an apparently dumb mistake, but now does not want to take responsibility for a situation that they caused. And to date, they still have not called me once to apologize or even sent the promised "Denial of Claim." Steer clear, folks -- this place is now a daily reminder of one of my worst auto repair nightmares. We all think it won't happen to us. But sadly, it will. read more

Been a customer at this location for years. Went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Was told I needed a new cabin filter-that was correct-for $80+. Called AutoZone and the filter was $19. Informed them at Firestone and they did have one for around $20. Why the oversell? Had a charge for a general checkup of the vehicle-$20+. Brought in a previous receipt-"Oh that was a mistake." Credited the money. Couldn't rotate the tires because one of the lug nuts had a spur on it and they didn't want it to break off. Fair enough. How much to replace the lug nut and stem when it breaks off? "Well, we have to remove all the brake components, blah, blah, blah,and could run up to $500 for the repairs." This is almost criminal-while waiting for my car to be lowered from the lift, I have a mechanic who will fix the lug nut situation for around $50, every customer was given news from the grim reaper of totally ridiculous repair costs. Try to fool me once-and I'm gone. You've lost a very disappointed ex customer. read more

I've been going to this location for approximately three years now and have sent clients here as well as colleagues and friends. Today I roll up to get an inspection and am told it's going to take two hours. Ok that's fine, I understand you're busy. So I ask to make an appointment for another day. I'm told they don't make appointments for inspections. Oh okay, well I will go somewhere else. That just didn't set well with me so I went online to investigate - if you don't make appointments for an inspection then why can I go directly on the website and make an appointment for an inspection? Also, I've been hearing things from people that I have referred to this location that they have stopped going due to the decline in customer service. It's sad because this location was convenient for me but I will gladly drive across town to another place. read more

Horrible customer service, 1st time I came here I was advised they didn't have time to repair my tire but if I wanted to purchase new tires they could install them. Today was just too horrible to even go into! Never again! After being completely upset early today, I must give Firestone credit for doing everything they could to make the situation better. Service here is not good. They are way more expensive than other mechanics in the city, and they will try to upsell you for everything they can if they think you don't know anything about cars. My boyfriend (a former mechanic) got my car serviced here and got decent service, however when I tried to take it in later for a different issue they tried upselling me a ton of stuff. We took the car elsewhere and got the repairs we actually needed for half the price. Would not recommend. read more

I had the pleasure of having my car serviced here today. I was traveling back home to Raleigh and experienced car problems as I left. I phoned AAA and they shared that I likely had an alternator problems based on what I described. After speaking with my husband, I had planned to have my car towed from Greensboro to Raleigh to the dealership to get the work done. Then, I thought - why not see if there is some place to get the work done today - in Greensboro? Given that it was Sunday, I thought chances of this happening were slim - but why not give it a try? I did a map search and came across Firestone on Pisgah Road. We have had good success with Firestone in Raleigh, so I gave them a call. I spoke with Kevon and he was extremely polite and accommodating and said that he would make room on their schedule - even though it was getting late and the repair might extend beyond the 5 pm closing time. Long story short, once I arrived, the techs discovered that the problem was not the alternator but a belt issue. I appreciated their not tryiing to take advantage of a woman alone by trying to sell me an unneeded service. I highly recommend Firestone for their friendly and honest customer service approach! read more

I have a 2006 Lexus IS 250 that had a Check System light come on due to pressure in the tires. I took it to a mechanic and he replaced all the sensors but the light still came on. I took it to the Lexus Dealership and it still came on. I finally took my car to Firestone on Pisgah Church and they fixed it! He reset the sensors to the tire pressure, even though the tires had warmed up. If you know anything about tires, this can be tricky since it gets cold and it affects the pressure. The service department carefully checked it and even drove it around the block to be sure it was working!!! They are amazing and have my praise for a job very well done! read more
