What can go wrong with the car? Sometimes? Who knows? Having the mechanics close? It's just smart ! Does the car need tires? Make sure and keep up on the maintenance. The basic oil changes to keep the car happy . The pricing here is pretty good. They run specials and will quote you before the work is actually completed. They send all the paperwork to your email . ** EXTREME CAUTION ** If coming to Firestone, or at least THIS specific location, GET A SECOND OPINION. Our AC was running very warm, so we dropped off the vehicle for their advertised $9.99 AC Inspection Special. Their recommendation, re. the needs, quoted verbatim: "Essentially a new bit of everything... A new Compressor, new AC Clutch, uh a new Filter-Dryer, a new Discharge & Suction Lines, new Expansion Valve, Accumulator & Receiver, & a new Compressor... Ahh ummm and an AC System Flush. as well." I asked what we would be looking at, for cost. "Before tax... $2,258.96" I told him we'd be on the way to pick up the vehicle, and we did just that. We drove over to Midas, on St Rose, and played the recorded call for them. They, like us, were blown away in disbelief. Firestone recommended a SHOTGUN FIX, in hopes to scare us, and in hopes to fix a problem. This Firestone, had our vehicle, NOT EVEN 30 MINUTES, and determined it needed 8+ major parts, along with a flush, that would have cost (w/ tax, $2,447 + misc disposal and shop fees)!!! Midas, had 1 technician, spend about 60-90 minutes shorting through the system. Noting each point were electrics/systems indicated positive action. The system freon was full, blend door actuators were functions, ac Clutch was engaging, etc. Baffled, everything appears to be working, yet the air was blowing at 90°+... Light Bulb... IT WAS A FUSE!!! They found a bad fuse under the dash, having to do with the vehicle's rear AC, that for some reason, if it fails, it is also in-line and effects the entire AC system (I'm saving technical spec. details). Midas charged us $30.... $30!!!! For their time and to replace a fuse... the REAL PROBLEM. The air is blowing at ~60°, it is AMAZING!!! The non-knowledgable scammed at this Firestone spend little to no time diagnosing a vehicle, recommend an expensive, throw everything and the kitchen sink at it, fix, AND GUESS WHAT ELSE?!?!?! A poor customer in this situation, would have shelled out iver $2,500, and Firestone's recommendation WOULD NOT HAVE FIXED THE AC FAILURE!!! The vehicle would have a slew of new parts, and IT WOULD NOT WORK, BECAUSE OF A BAD FUSE!!! I really appreciate that they are open on Sundays. I was able to get my tire repair done quickly, and everything was finished in about an hour! Staff was super friendly. First of all I didn't end up using this shop due to trying to up-sale me on everything (like I haven't been in the automotive industry for 20+ years). Was quoted one thing over the phone and then when I got there apparently my car "required" other services within that one service. Yea, complete lies, Needless to say I went to another shop that was less expensive and did not try to make service requirements up. Secondly, there was another gentleman in for a tire that had a nail in it in which the tech didn't perform the work correctly. The customer was upset and took the employee out to show the incorrect work was done. The employee, then went into the service bay and cussed out his employees. I had to go into Firestone due to what I was told by wal mart, was a bad battery. The battery had been purchased at Firestone in 2019. I have an interstate battery and it was under warranty, thus it would be replaced for free. I'd like to digress and state that the battery was completely dead at the wal mart after they changed my oil. A wal mart employee graciously jumped it with their personal vehicle after their jumper packs wouldn't start the vehicle. I immediately drove it to Firestone to get the battery replaced. Once at Firestone I was told to pull up to bay 1 and they would test the battery, and they stated if the battery tested bad that it is $30 for them to swap them out under the warranty. I wasn't thrilled about this since it's the battery they sell and I was told the battery was bad by wal mart service center. Firestone hooked up their battery device, and I was told the vehicle alternator was charging and that there was nothing wrong with the interstate battery. Hmmmmm, curious indeed. So, I left, with questions in my mind as to what the actual issue could be. Bad key fob battery perhaps? In any event, I carry on with my day, wondering if perhaps wal mart was wrong about their diagnosis. I mean, this is Firestone right? They know what they're doing, right? So I drive the car a little bit more and it seems to be okay. Later that evening I go to Costco, I shop for about 20 minutes, and when I come back out to the vehicle, click click click! Yep, you guessed it, I'm now stranded in the Costco parking lot with a car that won't start. So I walk over to their tire department and borrow their jumper pack and attempt to start the vehicle, with negative results. It's dark now at this point, and I'm more than a little annoyed at the current situation. Dead battery, car full of groceries, maybe I can have a parking lot tailgate until sunrise? I ended up calling a buddy to come with jumper cables and after a lengthy process, I got the car started and went home. I was still a bit befuddled at the incident, wondering what the issue is, since you know, Firestone said the battery was fine. Once at the house; I put my mechanic skills to the test, having had a background in shade tree mechanics after years of schooling in automotive technology. Hmmmm, my charger says the battery is bad but the alternator is fine. Now how could that be that my $175 charger says the battery is bad, but Firestone's super expensive machine says it's good? Well, morning arrives and I drive back to Firestone and show them a video of the dashboard going full cuckoo with every light flickering on and off amd ask them to diagnose the issue, because you know, the battery isn't the problem according to their skilled technicians. I then go on my way fully expecting a call in an hour or two telling me that the starter is bad and it's drawing too many amps and killing the battery or whatever. Ring ring, hello. Oh yes Firestone, what's the issue with my car? "You have a bad battery, it's fixed, come and get the vehicle, the cost is $30." Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, what in the..............? So yeah, Firestone says the battery they sold me in 2019 was fine 16 hours ago, but now the battery is the problem after all. Never mind that you told me it was fine yesterday, never mind that because of your misdiagnosis I was stuck at Costco for an hour with a dead vehicle. Make sure you hit me with that $30 fee to swap out the battery and ignore the inconvenience that you caused by not diagnosing the issue properly day one. Moral of the story here? Buy your batteries at Wal Mart! Their service department will swap the battery out for free if it fails since it's their product. Oh, and Wal Mart was actually correct in their first diagnosis that the battery had a bad internal cell. Firestone, your customer service is poor. To not waive the $30 fee when you misdiagnosed the battery issue and as a result, left me stranded a few hours later, is ridiculous. Discount tire will get my tire business from here on out and wal mart will get my battery business and oil change business. But hey, thanks for eventually swapping out the failed battery you sold me. read more

Went in for an oil change. Was told by the "manager" that there was screw in my tire (a tire which has been holding air and had no problems with -- and on a vehicle with the TPMS system). The charged me to "fix" the tire and the very next morning I find the vehicle in the garage with the tire completely flat, to the point the tire was coming off the rim. Called the store the "manager" had gone home for the day, but was told to bring the car in the next morning (yeah, AFTER I have change the tire myself for the spare). These guys are nothing but RIP OFF specialists. DO NOT take your vehicle to them. Additional info: After going to Discount tire, they pointed out that there was a piece of the tire bead which had been ripped out, meaning that this tire would NEVER hold air. I think that is absurd! Especially after I constantly fill my gas tank there, purchase their items and ice, etc. Today I was grateful for Nick a service representative from Firestone complete auto care in Henderson, who is super courteous dropped what he was doing, had me pull my car up and added air to my front passenger tire, which was low. Several years ago (3/26/2015), I posted a 5-Star review of this place, so I suppose it was natural that I thought of them when I needed some very minor service on my car, even though now I live a lot further away from this Firestone location. My car simply needed a headlight bulb being replaced, just like it did when I left the prior review. I looked-up the process on Youtube, and there are several videos showing how to do it -- a relatively simple job if you have a few basic tools, but *NOT* at all as-easy as it used to be back in the day for cars -- you've got to remove a covering from the wheel well and then reach-up, twist out the light housing, remove the bulb from a quick disconnect assembly, insert the new bulb, then reverse the process. With the right star-screwdriver, it took a service tech in the video a little under ten minutes, so I figured if I did it myself, maybe 20-30 minutes at the most. I bought a replacement headlight bulb for about $7 at a local automotive supply store, but instead of replacing it myself, I decided that since I'd be due for new tires on my car soon, I'd drive to the Firestone Complete Auto Care location at 2640 Pecos Ridge Parkway near (but not in!) the Seven Hills section of Henderson, and see if they could do the bulb replacement while my car was already being up on the lift for the tires. I walked in & it turned-out they couldn't do the service that day, so I had them do an estimate. I was told that corporate policy was that they couldn't use the new headlight bulb I'd bought. I assume the rationale was some sort of BS liability concern HOWEVER in their printed service quote, the headlight bulb that *they* would supply was $12.99 (versus the good quality, new bulb I just bought elsewhere for about $7). I highly suspect that's the *real* reason they 'can't' use the new bulb I had. Even worse, but not surprising: How much does it cost to get a headlight bulb changed at Firestone Complete Auto Care on Pecos Ridge Parkway in Henderson? $113.60! Does that price even include the bulb? HELL NO! So total quote to replace one %$#* headlight bulb at Firestone was $126.59, and this was after a prior visit had them do the same work & troubleshoot the bulb -- FOR FREE (read my prior review from 3/26/2015). I balked at the great expense, and "service advisor" Gino didn't skip a beat -- "Well, our labor rate is $xx an hour" I cut him off & told him that there are several Youtube videos showing the exact, complete process for my year/make/model car and that it took about 10 minutes to do. Gino didn't have an answer for that. With Firestone Complete Auto Care wanting to charge me $126.59 for a *simple headlight bulb replacement*, it was clear to me that they're in the business to gouge fools, so I therefore knew that the approximately $1150 they wanted to charge me for four new tires was also likely to be a complete rip-off. DO NOT GO HERE! They will ruin your car! Firestone is a terrible company from this location to the corporate office. I brought my car in for an inspection. Was told I needed an alignment and a new battery. Went to pick it up and they said they could not get my car to start. The next day they called and said they would have it towed where I chose. I had it towed to Findlay VW. Findlay diagnosed it with complete engine failure and to fix it would be $17,000! I called Firestone and they said they would open a claim. 6 weeks later after having no call or email from Firestone and having beg for a contact person in claims, I finally received a brief email from someone in claims that said they claim no liability to this. They destroyed my car, performed no service and now I'm without a car! This is the most corrupt company! I'm disgusted that an American company can treat people like this. To any person out there that knows about cars, it's obvious what they did. Someone in the shop drained my oil while it was up in the bay, not knowing I was not getting an oil change then someone else was working on the alignment revved the engine and realized there was no oil and voila! Engine failure then took no accountability. Firestone and everyone who works there, how can you sleep at night! My car worked fine before I took it here. Shame on you!!! I took my 2016 Kia into this Firestone location for an oil change and a general inspection prior to a long road trip I was planning to take. I had one request for them specifically: my 12V outlets along with my USB port and AUX port were not functioning. I asked if they could diagnose the issue and if it's an easy fix, take care of it while they had the car. After the initial inspection, I was told that issue with my 12V outlets was NOT the fuses, they assured me they checked the fuses and they were fine, so it was likely a much more complicated "electrical issue." They told me that just to open up the car and "look into it" would be $100. I told them not to do that and I would just worry about it after my road trip and fix it at some point in the future. Well, I decided to give it one more try when the mechanic at my dealership had a sudden opening and was willing to try and diagnose the issue. After 5 minutes of looking at my car, he found two blown fuses and replaced them. My outlets, USB, and AUX work just fine now. Because the issue was so inconsequential, the dealership mechanic didn't even charge me. (Thank you Ed at Towbin Kia). I'm frustrated with the service at this location and the inattention to detail. It makes me wonder how well they ACTUALLY inspected the rest of my car. read more

What happens when you're about to embark out of the house and you see that your tire is low and that there is a nail in it. The thoughts that were running through my mind were... what a great warm Saturday wasted. Can I make it to my favorite tire store? Should I just fill it with air and keep driving to Costco for a repair? How much will this cost me? They are probably going to up-sell me to a new tire and well, you know you have to buy them in pairs... After that 2 seconds of thinking, we zoomed out of the house and in 1 minute we were at the Firestone on the corner that we often see but never use the services because we are focused 100% on dealer repairs. I was very pleasantly surprised to go into the office that was very well designed, welcoming and inviting. Overall, very professional and this made a very good impression. I spoke to the customer service rep and he joined me right away at the vehicle, he found the nail and said that this is the perfect situation for a repair and that it would be 19.95 with tax. It would take 2.5 hours as they had other jobs and we agreed. We quickly drove home to pick up the other car and dropped our's off. Sure as can be, we get the call that the car is ready, they had it ready and waiting for us and we paid exactly as per the quote and we were done. I cannot tell you how concerning it is with bringing your car to any repair shop as the up sell and the expensive fees are always so much more than you expect. Plus many service writers are incentivized as well. Here at Firestone, I felt that the service was excellent, the pricing was great and the quality of culture in terms of no up sell and no high priced fees makes me want to use them in the future for other things besides my flat tire. I've used this Firestone location for both tires and auto repairs ever since it was built. I've always felt satisfied. But, today was a complete fail. My car had been sitting in my garage for 8 or 9 months, unused. The battery was of course dead. I towed my car in for a new battery and it's 30,000 maintenance. I asked that since the car had not been used for so long, I asked that all fluids, belts and systems were checked to make sure they were all working properly. Within an hour, I received a call that my car was done. That seemed quick. But, GREAT! I picked up the car and drove it to a nearby emissions check to re-register the car. The air conditioning was not working. So I immediately took it back to Firestone. I told them the problem. I asked if the A/C had been checked? The guy was very defensive and said the A/C was not a part of their checklist. I told him that I had asked that all systems be checked. He again said it was not a part of their checklist. I have had A/C worked on at this location in the past. I asked when it could be checked? He said it would not be for several weeks. He said they don't have an A/C tech for several more weeks. But, he could schedule me in a few weeks. Totally unacceptable. I left and made an appointment at Mineke for the next day. It looks like Mineke has a new customer. Brought my work truck in to get a new tire that blew on the passenger rear and to look at my front passenger tire.. They replaced my rear tire did not find anything in the front..ok.. as I was inspecting the tires I noticed a screw in my rear driver side tire.. Really? We couldn't inspect the other tires??? I took my car in for a Wheel alignment.I dropped it off and they called me a few hours later and said it was all done.I picked it up and drove it home.The next morning backed out of my driveway and started to drive down the street and it was pulling left again.Took it back and they readjusted it and zi picked it up and drove home.Next day same issue.The manager Gino said it'd the tires and quoted me just over $500 for 2 Firestone tires even though I have Michelin on it now.I didn't buy them there but 2 weeks later I put 2 new tires on and it still pulled left.Not sure why this moron thought replacing the 2 tires was gonna fix a bad alignment but now I have 2 new tires that weren't ready to be replaced yet and I still have the same issue.I would not recommend taking your car here for alignment so you don't waste your time and $. read more
