Great Service !!!! I had to remove a tire and the company that did it before over tighten the lug nuts. So much so I broke my ratchet. I used a stronger one and it broke the socket. It's my wife's car and I thought It was firestone when we got the tires last year. Found out it was the dealer who did it when they did some warranty work when they called me letting me know it was ready. I asked Firestone to charge me twice for the work and they refused. So on Friday 3/31 our car was stolen from Firestone Auto Care at 180 & Halsted in Homewood. We dropped the car off for an oil change that morning and returned in the afternoon to pick it up, only to be told the car was missing! We were told by the manager, Brandon Turner, that there are NO cameras at this business - how is that even possible? The car was stolen in the middle of the day on their property yet he was extremely nonchalant about the entire situation and offered little assistance. We've been trying to contact Brandon's supervisor, Mike Godinez, and have left numerous messages without a response. We filed a report with the Homewood police and will continue to wait for some news. I visited this location and purchased tires and was told I need a new battery on my car. My car had been working perfectly. I got the tires and a week later my car would not start fully. I went back to firestone and purchased the battery and few months later my car has issues again. I visited dealer yesterday and was told my battery was almost gone. I have proof of this. I have tried to support my local Firestone but i always get a kick in the butt! Last Saturday the tire light was on and I decided to get the air pressure checked. I asked the service person if He could check my air pressure in my tires. FYI I bought these tires from Firestone 3 years ago ...He said sure he came out and filled each tire with air and then told me I was all set. The tire light went out but another warning signal came on TPMS.. I went back and told him and he said you need to go to your dealer to have that checked out I put the air in your tires and the tire pressure is okay! I have always been a loyal customer to Firestone Auto Care. However, 3 horrible experiences have changed my opinion of the company and this particular branch in Homewood. I brought my car in for an oil change and alignment several months ago. I dropped the car off before work (8am) to ensure that my car was ready for a trip to St. Louis after work. I came back at 4:30pm and they had not started working on it. After explaining the situation they rushed through an oil change and I went away without an alignment. I brought my car in to service a part that was still under warranty. When checking the part they noticed something else needed to be repaired. I was charged for repairing the newly discovered broken part (which was the acceptable part). Then I was charged for several other unrelated inspection fees. When I questioned the charges, I was told that these were all necessary for repairing my car. After much discussion, the service attendant yelled at me saying, he would not remove the charges. I ended up contacting the company later but it made for a terrible customer service experience. I should have learned my lesson. Right now I am sitting in the waiting area at Firestone. I made an appointment online for an alignment and oil change for 11:30am. It is now 5:45pm and they just brought my car into the garage. Unfortunately, I need these services performed ASAP. Otherwise, I would go somewhere else. This will be the last time I have my car serviced here. I would not recommend the Homewood Firestone to anyone. read more

I stopped in 1/26/18 to replace headlight bulb on 2013 VW Jetta. They quoted $58 bulb and $75 labor =$133. Smelling a rip-off, I bought bulb at VW dealer for $20 and they replaced it in less than a minute for no charge. I would avoid this scam shop. read more

Firestone is always there when I need them! Regardless of what issue I've had (even problems I felt were impossible to fix) they have solved them. I especially love this location in Homewood because of the great customer service they offer. I initially started out with Brandon, who was very amazing, but my services ended with someone else and I'm so sorry I forgot his name because he is deserving of recognition for the awesome costumer service he provided. So...looks like Firestone has a new service advisor since the last time I was in. His name is Brandon. So far so good. I had a good experience with him. Turns out my expensive brake repair job was under warranty! Lucky for me. Brandon took care of me right away. Fixed issues with front left brakes. Brandon advised me that I had some lights out so got those replaced as well as a synthetic oil change. Still a little pricey for bulb labor but I was fine with that. Too lazy to do myself! I set an appointment with Firestone online to have my tires checked. I arrived at the appointment on time thinking that appointments took priority. Not the case! There were several cars ahead of me, so my car wasn't pulled at my scheduled time. In fact, my car was pulled well over an hour AFTER my scheduled time. I ended up leaving my car, because of the extra time I didn't anticipate. The saving grace about this experience is Brandon's friendliness, as well as him giving a very detailed explanation of my issue. I've been to this place like 5-6 times in the last year or so. I've gotten an axle, brakes, battery, oil change, rear wheel bearings and tires to the tune of about $1500 or so. The place is nice enough, clean etc. Comfortable seating and decent flat screen in the waiting area. The bathroom is clean and they make fresh coffee in the morning. When I went there the other day at least 4 selections I made on the pop machine were sold out though, details people! They've pretty much done everything right the first time and as promised. Though when I had the battery thrown in it was just that, not held down by anything, just sitting in the tray. The only reason I had them put it in is cause I was across the street when it died so I brought it right over there. The service writer I've usually dealt with is kind of quiet and not overly friendly, kind of makes me feel a little weird. When I was there last week he of course recommended 6 different maintenance things that my Caravan should probably have to the tune of like 800+ dollars, LOL. JUST for them to replace the plugs, wires, cap and rotor it was $450, are you frickin' high? $190 for parts which I could get at Auto Zone for like $70. I understand there's a markup but over 200%? Jesus. And $260 for labor for something I could do myself in no more than 1/2 hour or so? All in all it's not a bad place and not all of their services are that "overpriced". I wouldn't passionately recommend it though, your mileage may vary. read more

I was stranded on my road trip with my sons coming back to Chicago after the tire deflated. I guess they missed that as part of the tire repair because I was told it was a slow leak. Not sure what their game is here...they definitely had a bad "leader" day that I visited...I stopped in for a TPMS alert...they found a nail in my tire and then the manager came over and gave me the big sales pitch to replace the tire that they didn't have in stock...when I rejected the idea of leaving my vehicle there overnight things got really slow...I noticed after sometime that my tire was still leaning against the tire machine on the opposite side of the shop so I approached the "manager" and mentioned that I could see no progress was being made and pointed out that my tire/wheel was still in the same spot for last 30 minutes asking how much longer I should expect to be delayed...at this point he went out to check whereas he looked it over and rolled it over to my van to have someone install it...he was quite cynical with me but I accepted his words as I really needed to get going...I left after paying almost $50 bucks for a tire repair only to find out at my next stop that he hadn't replaced the valve stem cover on the repairs tire...when I called him to notify him of this at my next stop he was arrogant and short with me. I had considered ordering & purchasing 4 new tires from this shop as I pass by almost once a week to visit my customers in Chicago Heights, I wouldn't have ever considered replacing just one as he initially recommended. read more

BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!! Went to this firestone in Homewood, ILL. at 178th and Halsted today for brakes oil change and tire rotation. Did't get the brakes relacement done there but paid for the oil change and received tire rotation under a previous tire agreement. I checked levels and oil prior to an oil change and after receiving the oil change I check them again. This time I discovered the oil was not changed because it is the same color and @same level as it was yesterday when I checked. I have called the store manager and left a message with the store associate i've also called the firestone corp consumer affairs and registered a complaint. I had my car towed to this firestone after experiencing some problems with my tires on the highway. The manager ( Brandon) was very friendly and took the time to investigate the problem. After the week I had dealing with tires this was very welcome. This firestone is 45 minutes away from my house but I will be going to them for all of my future services. Early part of April I looked up firestone tries and felt that I had got a great quote on 4 new tires. However, when I arrived there the service rep, Kim, said that the tires that was quoted to me over the phone was not available. I still purchased a set of 4 tires and had an oil change done because I explained to the sales rep over the phone that I will be leaving town as soon as I purchased the tires and had an oil change done that exact same day. Kim ,the sales rep, recommended that I should have an alignment done within the next month. So I returned back to firestone in Homewood on June 6th to have the alignment done. That day I was informed by Kevin another sales rep that there was a dent underneath my car that I needed to take it to a body shop to get fixed or one of my tires would be effected by that in the long run. On June 12th I had my brakes done by my personal mechanic. My mechanic was not able to remove the front tire on the driver side because one of the lugs was so tight that he had to break it off. He also noticed that two other lugs was so loose he was surprised that I didn't notice it while driving. I called Kevin that same day and told him what my mechanic had encountered before he even fixed my brakes. Kevin assured me that he would replace the lug without any problems. When my husband and I dropped of the car no more then 20 minutes later did Kevin call us saying his mechanic could not remove the same tire my mechanic had issues with. Kevin said his mechanic would have to break 2 more lugs because they were on to tight or improperly put on. I told Kevin that I had no problems with removing any tires until I brought my car to you guys. So, do whatever you need to do because the problem started here. Kevin told me ok ill see what I can do because you had your mechanic to fix your brakes and know my guys has to break 2 lugs in order to get the tire off. I told him yeah ok. My husband and I was there 3 hours before Kevin told us he had to order one lug. I told him we would leave and he said fine, that he would call us once the part comes in. He said the part should be here by two however, that never happened. I called around 4 and he said the part was on the way but he was not able to have the part put on that day. ok I told him I'd be in on Wednesday but I didn't return until 6 days later. Kim was there that day and was able to get my car in and out within an hour. When my car was ready Kim informed me that there was a boot, she called it, missing from my left front caliper. when I drove off and I hit my brakes I could hear a high pitched screeching sound. All I could do is grit my teeth . I knew before I left the shop that there mechanic had do something to my car. I called Kim back and I told her that I did not appreciate there service. I also told her my car was not sounding like this when I brought it to them that morning and the day before. I told her I did not sound like that last week. I told her I will notify the manager, the BBB, and I will be putting you on yelp. She told me what the mechanic had found while servicing me but before she could offer me to come back I told her I will not be ever coming back to them again and I'm and going to make sure to tell everyone I know to never go there. then I told her to have a Happy Father's Day. read more

I had THE worst experience here this past weekend. On 9-20-2014, my boyfriend and I brought the car to this Firestone, serviced by the manager named Kevin, and my boyfriend wanted an oil change and a look at the brakes. So he was told it would be 50.00 and if they find anything, they would give him a call. An hour later, my boyfriend was told it was going to be almost 400.00 so I told him let's go see what they were talking about. We were once again greeted by the manager Kevin. So Kevin told him the router had to be replaced and the brake pads had to be replaced and some more items had to be replaced. So when I started asking questions, Kevin got highly irritated at me. He was so much irritated, that when I didn't name a part correctly, he got sarcastic, really rude, and was cutting me off in the middle of my sentences. I told him, just because I'm a woman, doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about and when once again I named a part incorrectly, Kevin in a rude way told me," are you even listening? that is not what I said get it right!!!" So he said," discuss it amongst yourself" and he walked away. So I was telling my boyfriend we should go to the dealership to get the major work done. By this time, Kevin the manager, pointed at the sign behind the desk and told me, " Firestone since 1926 I know what the hell I'm talking about." And I told him I don't give a f***. Kevin was beyond rude, unprofessional and his workers were more professional than him. He was not a manager and when he said discuss it amongst yourselves, he also understood it was my money too.
