Wanted to go in for a quick oil change. There was no one in the Jiffy Lube to direct me anywhere so I assumed I had to pull forward to be attended. This is when a lady started yelling at me aggressively to not enter the shop like their was something wrong with me. She was very rude and unprofessional in the way she spoke to me so I didn't even bother going in at all. I simply left. Ive been to other Jiffy Lubes where the staff is nice and attentive. I went to Glenwood IL Jiffy Lube (located at 18233 S Halsted St, Glenwood, IL 60425) on 03/29/2024 at 5:30pm to get an oil change service for my mothers car. This car has gotten regular service from this location many times. As I pulled in, one of the employees, named Israel Burten, proceeded to check my oil. He told me, after checking my oil, that I needed to have it changed. I agreed to the service of Jiffy Lube changing my oil. When it was time to pay, I asked the employee if Jiffy Lube could accept payment via Apple Pay, and the employee said yes. I gave the employee, Israel Burton, money for the service via Apple Pay to pay Jiffy Lube for the service. What I was unaware of at that time was that the employee did not actually change my oil and instead pocketed the money via his own Apple Pay account. The receipt of this transaction is on my Apple Pay. One month later, my engine locked up while driving on the expressway. I had the vehicle towed to a mechanic shop where they informed me that the engine locked up due to having no oil, and it would cost $8900 to fix and replace the engine. After receiving that information, I called the Glenwood IL Jiffy Lube and spoke with a person named "Dante" who stated he was the manager. When speaking to him about the oil change experience, the manager admitted that the employee no longer worked there and refused to give any more information. The manager even refused to provide his full name. I filed a police report with the Glenwood police department soon after and the police department mentioned that they have received several complaints about the Jiffy Lube location. We plan to get a lawyer to sue for damages. My mother is physically disabled and does not deserve this. read more

Visited the homewood location on Halsted to get an oil change, have my transmission fluid check and Freon checked all employees except for Dwayne was extremely rude to me! As I was driving around the the entrance a employee with tattoos on his face yelled and asked me what was I coming in for I told him a oil change ... Dewayne walked up to my car I went over my concerns about my vehicle with him and the guy with the tattoos was waving me to come forward so because me and Dwayne was still speaking I told the guy with tattoos to hold on I'm trying to let the other worker know what's going on with my vehicle... The guy with the tattoos instantly said "NO SERVICE" A ghetto African American female manager by the name of Jessica tried to say that I wouldn't have any service before listening to me "The Customer" the entire time I was at this business everyone was ignorant rude and ghetto!!!! Came in for an oil change on oct 10 2019 on my 2014 Lincoln MKS with less than 50k miles on it. I asked for the basic oil change service however the mechanic convinced me to proceed with the $70 option which would give me more miles before needing another oil change. They completed my service and then printed me a receipt which said 0$ on it which I later found out he rang out as a "top off" however collected $70 in cash from me. 2 days later my check engine light comes on and when I pressed my accelerator its sounding like a can rattling. So in turn I return to this jiffy lube location in which a man checked my codes for why my check engine light was on and he tells me it's my camshaft and several other things that "has nothing to do with jiffy lube" Mind you I bought this car just last year with 17000 miles on it and have never had not ONE problem ever with my car. So I proceed to call my dealership and set up an appointment and they discovered TWO puncture holes in the oil filter which was directly from jiffy lube which resulted in my car spilling out oil and damaged my engine and other interior damages. I've called corporate and their response to me is to await the franchise owner to call me. It has now been 6 days and still no one has called. My advice to you all is DO NOT take your car here. Not only did the man steal the $70 I paid for my service but he put on an OLD oil filter and also put it in upside down causing major damage to my car. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. My next step is to have my attorney contact this low integrity company mainly THIS location being that I've received multiple oil changes from jiffy lube in park forest in the past with no problems; however they were closed so I had to come here. Worst mistake ever. Not to mention on top of the $70 thrown out the window I had to pay the mechanic at my dealership $100 just to diagnose the issue and that was them cutting me a deal. I had been going to this jiffy lube for the last 15 years. But I will not go there again. On Sept 21 2021 I went in for an oil change. The service was normal. No problems. On Friday Oct 8th I went into my garage and there was about 3 or 4 Oz of motor oil under the front of my car. My car is still under the maintenance agreement that came with it when I bought it in 2017. So I took it to Homewood Chevrolet where I bought it. It was three in the afternoon so they were unable to look at it till Monday Morning. So I had to leave it there for the weekend. On Monday after they looked at it they called me to inform me that there was nothing wrong with the car itself after they tested it for leaks. What they did find was my old oil filter jamed in the frame had eventually had tried over after running errands on Thursday afternoon. Homewood Chevrolet charged me 144.10 for the minimum work they did. After paying my fee, I went to Jiffy lube to let let them know what happened. I spoke with the Manager who said he would call his district Manager and she would call me. I left him with a copy of the invoice from Homewood Chevrolet. I told him I want to hear from someone by Friday the 15th as I did not want my complaint to drag out. It has now been two weeks since I left my complaint with the store manager. I have not heard anything back. I tried to call during the week but did not get an answer back. I think an apology and compensation is in order. read more

Went in for a simple oil change when they pulled my air filter out for no reason. Afterwards went for a drive up to Naperville when the car started to smell funny and the ac cut out. Avoid jiffy lubes! Pretty sure management pushes employees to up-sell nonstop. And while I was there one of the techs could not figure out how to snap a snap screw back on a customers car. read more

I'm rating this place, not because of the service but that it looks like it's closed for good. Appearance is everything. The bay door is wooded up as if it's being set to be demolished. I was passing by this store and was thinking where can I find other jiffy lube. It's funny. It's been like this for three months. There was a website about this Jiffy Lube at this location. I was doing research about it in 2007 because this place mess up my oil change for my BMW 328i and my Honda Odyssey. My two cars were not the same anymore after inexperience Jiffy Lube mechanics wreck up my car and charge me for something they didn't know how to do. This place is Horrible. The reviews were right. Ripoff .....12/4/15 @ 11:30am.. This place sucks!! Manager was very unprofessional when dealing with customers AND employees. The assistant managers were great and very helpful. He tried to BULLY me when I voiced a complaint about a .99 screw I thought they lost. Over a .99 cent screw. I'm a paying customer who can pay for an oil change 5 times a year and he's arguing over a screw. A .99 cent SCREW!! Word of advice Mr. Manager, you can't bully everyone as he found out quickly. I drove my 90 year old mothers car to the local Jiffy Lube for the $24.99 oil change special and drove out with a bill for $40 plus. A classic bait and switch. When I challenged the service manage I got cliche and sarcasm. I didn't get mad, I'll just get even. AVOID THIS STORE AND THESE THIEVES. And, they didn't try to sell me on a bunch of stuff I didn't need. I was told that they brought in a New MGR so maybe he is what the place needed to run a tighter more professional ship. I am pleasantly surprised. I gave up on Walmart's nonexistent service and went up the road for an oil change. Based on past experiences, I was prepared for the worst, particularly upselling to the point of obnoxiousness and perhaps unnecessary replacement suggestions. Much to my shock, they got it right. I received timely service and didn't get hassled or lied to. The cost was a bit high but they did actually perform basic service, checked and filled fluids, and cleaned the car a bit. For that , I did get my money's worth. I will still remain cautious when I visit, but I will try this place again in a few months and if they manage to keep the service quality high and treat the customer well, they might just have recurring customer out of me. read more

VERY unpleasant experience. First of all, the staff tried to INSIST that we needed to use synthetic oil in our brand new Jeep. I ended up calling the dealership to confirm that conventional oil was the correct oil. The mechanics were rude and condescending. The filthy mechanic got into the vehicle to put the stupid sticker on the window and left grease smears all over the steering wheel and grease prints all over the windshield. This in our 2 day old SUV. Besides all that, when he was in the car,, he pushed buttons all over my smart wheel and I had to reset every item... On the wall in the waiting room is a price sign that states 4 x 4 vehicles are $2 more. When we went to pay, they charged $5...saying, "hey, that's how much it is." Having had excellent service at the other Jiffy Lube shops I've relied on for two decades or more, but hoping to find one that wasn't far out of my way now that I no longer work or commute near one, I was happy to find this one in an area I visit weekly. My first inkling that the place wasn't up to par was the crew's uncertainty about whether they offer tire rotation. Every other shop I've visited has, without hesitation. Next, I realized after my next stop--several miles later--that the "Oil Maintenance Needed" message displayed on my dash hadn't been turned off (it comes on when the car is started) and, as well l, that no new sticker giving the recommended mileage for my next oil change had been placed in the corner of my windshield. Examining my invoice, I also saw that the staff had entered an incorrect odometer reading: 2 miles over my starting mileage reading that morning, even though I'd driven 26 miles that day by the time I reached the shop. When I got home I checked the oil, which appeared fresh; by then, I didn't trust them much, and felt I had to check. And three days later, the tire pressure light came on. Checking the pressure with a decent gauge, I found all four tires were underinflated, one at 21 psi instead of the recommended 32 psi. Another look at the invoice showed that they claimed to have inflated all four to 35 --a mistake even if that's what they did, since the manufacturer's sticker in the door frame calls for 35 front, 32 rear. After getting tire service near home, I returned to Jiffy Lube the next time I was in its vicinity, two weeks later. They turned off the Oil Maintenance light and added the missing sticker (but calling for a return in 3500 miles, when the recommended interval with my car, driving patterns, and synthetic oil is 7000 miles), and screwed up the display on the dash, which I made them fix before I'd leave. They also balked at clarifying the odometer reading of the initial visit until I wrote the clarification on the invoice and refused to leave until the counter clerk signed off on it. I won't be going back unless there's clear sign that the crew is being held to the performance standards of the other Jiffy Lubes I've visited. Until then, it will be worth the extra time and mileage to go to one of those that are out of my way. read more
