I went to Firestone in Santee, got treated like crap and forgotten. Then tried to make an appointment at Firestone on C & Park Blvd.... they cancelled my appointment without telling me. Then I reluctantly went to Firestone in La Mesa (recommended by my boss). WOW, this Firestone was amazing, was treated like a valued customer. They have a no nonsense approach, not a whole lot of joking or horsing around (like Santee) - very professional. THANK YOU!!! I will return. read more

Took 2.5 hours for an oil change. An oil change! And I even had an appointment. Can't speak much on the quality of service...but the slow service and long wait will have me looking elsewhere next time. Oil change came out to $32 with a special they were running. read more

I've had services done from Firestone in the past, but this time I had multiple services done (coolant flush, brake booster replacement, tire rotation, and tire balance). All throughout, the employees were very courteous and professional. The 2 gentlemen working in the waiting area were always great at acknowledging and assisting myself and each customer I saw walk in. The techs are also very efficient. A little side note... I returned my car after this big service, thinking they did an unsatisfactory job with the coolant flush. However, they showed/explained to me the error in my perception, and they were never condescending at any point. Again, courteous and professional! The only redeeming quality of this place is Dakota. He has always provided helpful advice and has been professional and willing to go the extra mile. Other than that, awful... The other sales staff have all been pushy, unhelpful and lacking in knowledge. After several poor alignments and being told that they would no longer be able to align my car (even though I had a lifetime alignment), I took my car to True Line Alignment in El Cajon and could not be happier. The last time I brought my car in, the sales manager (a short, nervous guy, not Dakota) basically told me that it would be impossible to align my car to my requested specs. After I explained that they would simply have to raise up the car, make the adjustments and then perform the alignment (because I should really have to explain how to do this to people who get paid to know this stuff), he insisted that it was impossible as the one guy with the right tools had been fired. Btw, the right tool for the job was a 21mm wrench... how unusual... Well, I took it right over to True Line and the impossible was completed in less than an hour without any issues or drama. Also, when I took a look at the printout from Firestone on my last alignment, I saw that they entered the wrong car into the alignment computer, no wonder the car handled poorly. read more

Had a great experience. Only offered to fix the problems that I brought my jeep in for. Good customer service. And they have so many garages, they were able to fix my jeep same day. Total bill was 980$ for break replacement and oil leak. Labor was about half that price which sucks. But they did good work after I had taken my car to two different places before and they couldn't figure out my jeeps problem. Glad they finally fixed it! read more

So I had a small leak in one of my tire's and stopped by on a Sunday. They were really busy but Luigi seemed to take it in stride and helped everyone with smile and a great attitude, even tho some of the customers were not so nice. To say I was pissy when I walked into Firestone is being generous to myself. I had just driven over something that totally popped my tire and I was going to be late to meet my kid after school. Anyway, Craig the store manager was level-headed and mellow and did not let my bad attitude effect his. Plus, he was able to give me a lift home so I could meet my kid's school bus on time. And he didn't push the most expensive tires on me. He offered me the lowest price and I chose a better tire with no pressure whatsoever. The only down side is that I was told it would take an hour to change the tire and I didn't get the call that it was done until about 2.5 hours later. Thanks for the help!! read more

My car battery died and I was directed by the warranty company to this Firestone. The sales guy did exactly his job and nothing more. My car died on the lot and when I asked for a wrench to pull the battery out myself instead of being charged - the sales guy declined, at first. After I confirmed that I would buy the battery there the salesman finally gave me a wrench. As I was vigorously working to get my battery out one of the mechanics asked if he could help - you sir get 5 stars, but I cannot give 5 stars to this average location. I prefer Discount Tire off Mission Gorge where I have gone for the previous 10 years and they know my name and always take care of with without nickle and diming or begging for tools. read more

Called to get a quote and schedule an appointment today. We found some Firestone tires on Tire Rack that were affordable for my daughters car. She drives an older Jaguar its an 03 so we did not want to spend a lot on the tires as we will probably only have the car another year but want her safe. The woman who answered the phone was very nice and helpful. She told us that they would match the tirerack.com price for the tires as long as we could bring in a print out of the price. She asked if we could bring it in and leave it until 6PM. We were greeted by one of the managers Luigi Zoni who could not have been more derogatory and smartass. We told him Evans Tire had buy two get two free and asked if that would be a better deal and he retorted we are not in business to give tires away, after this he said we do not match tire rack.com and I explained that I just called and was told to bring in the print out, so he said he would do it this one time like he was doing me a favor after his staff already quoted it this way. This was followed with him telling us the tires we drove over to have installed are not in stock. All in all the situation would have been way better if Mr. Zoni did not come off like suck a jerk. read more

I went to this location to get a price quote on my truck for a leaf spring replacement. I believe the guy who helped me was the manager, He was awesome. I was quoted a price way higher then my budget but he used a great deal of empathy and helped me find a place where I would save money. I would have loved to let them do the job on my truck if I had the money because they use quality parts, but its nice to know they try to help in every way possible. read more

Went in this morning to get my oil changed. Arrived at 8 AM and was first one there. An hour and twenty minutes later I was on my way. Last time I came here to get my oil changed I had an appointment and dropped it off at 9:30 in the morning. Went to pick it up at 3 and it was still sitting in the lot. They apologised and quickly changed my oil for free. Bottom line: good service, but dont be in a hury when you come here. read more

I hate getting my car worked on because being a girl they assume I know nothing, that is NOT the case at Firestone! they are so kind, they never try to charge me for things I don't need and they are always willing to get me in on short notice. any time I had low tire pressure, I would pull in and they would check it, fix it and send me on their way within seconds and all for free. I have come in for alignment checks, tire repair, new tires, etc. Every time, they are communicative, helpful and tell me the cost up front. They don't have hidden fees or additional costs. They've even stayed late for me when I've needed my car asap. I would recommend this place to anyone and will continue to go back to them! read more

I made an appointment for an allignment and when I showed up on time I was told I was up next and should have my car back in 1 to 1 1/2 hours. 2 hours later, I hadn't heard from them, so I called. After 5 minutes on hold I was told that I was up next and that I should have my car back in 2 hours. I suspect they don't bother following their own schedule. I don't know about other locations, but this one SUCKS. I came here because my car was warrantied at that location for free alignments. Dropped off my car five minutes before my appointment and asked when I could expect it to be done. I was told it should take less than an hour and they'd call me when they were finished. And hour and a half later there was no call, so I went back to the shop to find my car hadn't even been taken in to the workshop yet. It was sitting right where I left it. When I asked what the deal was, I was told there were "a lot of cars ahead of me" but they would be done by 6 o'clock (that is, when they close). What?? I made my appointment days in advance, and there was only one other car waiting in the lot when I arrived. I left again and finally, three-and-a-half hours after I first dropped it off I got a call that they couldn't even do the alignment because of damage to the rack and pinions. The damage is not their fault of course, but I'm incredibly angry to have wasted an entire afternoon waiting just to find out that no work would be done on it. They then gave me an estimate for their cost to fix the damage, and it featured lots of asterisks and "does not include cost of X, Y, and Z". I took my car to another mechanic and he's fixing it for less than $1000, while Firestone's MINIMUM estimate was at least $200 more than that. read more

Our car broke down right in front of this place. The guys were nice enough help push the car into their parking lot. That was the last pleasant thing that happened here. When we picked the car up, we were charged $100 more than what we were told over the phone. Seems they neglected to tell us about the $100 diagnostic charge. The car had a problem starting. Turns out it needed a new ignition switch, which was replaced and resulted in the car being able to start. Driving the car home, it became apparent that it no longer ran the way it used to. It was idling very rough and felt like it would die out at any minute. There was even a burning smell coming from the car.(They told us they did not take it for a test drive after they could get it started.) When we called the store, we were told, "We fixed the problem you brought it in for." They also called us liars regarding the $100 charge they never told us about. Totally rude on the phone. We contacted the 800 number and it seems they just kicked it back to the store. After a week of trying to fix the problem with the idle as the guy at the store suggested (resetting the computer) and no improvement, we returned a call from the store manager who agreed to refund the $100, continued to call us liars, and, in general just stuck with the story that they had fixed the problem. We took it to our regular mechanic (shout out to La Mesa Auto and Tire) who replaced the spark plugs and did a couple of other things and the car is now running so much better. So, did the Firestone guys muck something up when they were running diagnostics or was there something else wrong with the car that they just failed to catch? We'll never know for sure. All we know is that they did not deliver on any of their many printed and posted assurances of customer service and completing a quality job. We'll definitely not go back to this store and will stay away from any Firestone branded stores in general. Not worth the aggravation, rudeness and possible incompetence. read more

On Wednesday October 30, 2013 I went to Store # 19445. I had made an appointment for an oil change at 5:15pm. I arrived to the location at 5:00pm. As I was getting out of my car I realized I had left my wallet at work. Regardless I proceeded to go into the location to explain what had happened. As I walked in I walked up to the counter and saw a middle aged Caucasian male on the other side of the counter. As I was standing in front of him it took him quite some time to acknowledge me. When he finally acknowledged me I began to explain to him what had happened. I asked him if I would have time to go back to my office and pick up my wallet. His response was a blunt no. Owning up to my mistake I asked that if I could then reschedule my appointment. He then advised me that the latest he could schedule me for is 5:00pm on Thursday October 31st, 2013. I advised him that I would like to schedule it at 5:15pm. His response was no. I asked him why I was then able to schedule an appointment at 5:15pm today but not for tomorrow? His response: We close at 6:00pm the latest I could do is 5:00pm. The location closes at 6:00pm on Wednesdays as well. That was a good excuse. I asked him what other options he could give me. His option: Come on another day. I then asked him if he had an opening Friday (11/1/2013) morning. He then gave me the option to come in Friday morning at 8:00am. I took that option. The next issue I had was that I had a $21.99 coupon for my oil change. This coupon expired on 10/31/2013. I asked him if he would be able to honor it on Friday since I originally wanted to use it on 10/30/2013. He laughed and said no. No, no, no. He proceeded with telling me that the oil change would be about $37 without the coupon. Surprised by his rude response I simply asked him to cancel my Friday appointment. I then noticed he did not have a name badge. So I asked for his name. He then stood quiet. He then stated, I'll honor the price for you on Friday. From the start of walking into the location to that point I no longer wanted to do business with this man. My response to him honoring my coupon was no longer in my interest. I began to repeat myself telling him no thank you, you do not need to do that. Simply cancel my appointment and I would please like to know your name. He continued to ignore my requests. Stating here I am already adjusting the pricing for you look. He began to turn the computer screen towards me. I began to kindly repeat myself, again. No thank you, I am no longer interested in getting my oil changed here. Please cancel the appointment and I would like to know your name. He then said fine it's "Chris". I then said thank you for your time and left the location. I am very upset on how I was treated yesterday. I have been coming to this location for a couple of years now and never have I been treated this way. My complaint is not about the oil change coupon. I understand I forgot my wallet, it is my responsibility. However, the way the employee treated me was unacceptable. I hate to say this but I no longer will be coming back to that location. Total scam artists! Brought car in for an oil change and lifetime alignment. I was told that it needed a new tie rod for $285 before the alignment could be done. Very suspicious because they had just told me thesame thing about 3 months ago for my other car. Immediately took it to Toyota of Santee who fixed my car for FREE in 5 minutes. Turns out tie rod was fine and just a screw was loose next to it. Did Firestone loosen this on purpose? Called Firestone to inquire and no apology, but was just told I needed to bring my car in to see why their mechanic said I needed a new tie rod. Yeah, right! I will never bring my car here again. Also tried to charge me $40 for a flat repair about a year ago. Scam artists! read more

My husband took his car into the La Mesa Firestone because his check engine light was on. They said they did a courtesy check and said the problem was the spark plugs. After he got the car back, he noticed that there was a major leak and the check engine light came back on. So against our better judgment we brought it back to Firestone and they said it was the egr valve causing the check engine light to come on and a power steering hose needed to be replaced. You would think after bringing it in twice it would be fixed. But the car is still leaking!! We have spent $2,000 making repairs and we are outraged that they could not fix the problem in 2 tries and with so much money spent! The individuals that work there are either extremely incompetent or are major scam artists. We are definitely contacting the better business bureau about this one. read more

Until recently I was taking my vehicle to this particular Firestone as it is conveniently located near my home. I purchased the Lifetime Alignment, a battery and tires for my vehicle there. This was the only location my vehicle was ever taken to. After purchasing tires everytime I went in for an oil change I would have them perform an alignment. Supposedly this was being done. Then, much to my surprise, I took my vehicle in for an oil change (as I normally do) and was told my tires could not be rotated as I needed tires! What?? I had them perform research and was told that "I" did everything right and somehow my tires wore without any valid explanation given. All I could think was that the alignments were not performed properly or this would have never occurred. Obviously they wanted to sell me new tires of which I declined - and, thank goodness, my new tires are much better suited for my vehicle and are much quieter than the cheap tires this particular Firestone had sold to me. The tires were under warranty, YET because I did not purchase my NEW tires from them, they were not obligated to reimburse me any monies for the mileage I lost out on due to their shoddy workmanship on my vehicle. I reported them to the CA BAR and unfortunately there was nothing they could do, except they did assure me that my report would remain in their file and that is considered a "strike" against them. Currently, I am contacting the Firestone corporate office to alert them about this situation - my guess is that just because I asked for the alignment everytime I went in, it does not necessarily mean that it was actually performed. Therefore, please be aware of that at this particular location. I still utilize Firestone since I have the lifetime alignment, just not this location. Upon the purchase of my next vehicle my business will be taken elsewhere. read more

Got some tires today for my lifted truck. Ordered them from an online retailer and had them shipped to this location since it was close to my home. Big mistake. Tires were fine and installation was fine. The problem was the complete douche bags they have working here. First the guy complains the tires are going to be hard to put on. Second he complains they're heavy! Dude, you chose to be a tire installer, not me!!! He claims it'll take all day to put on. I called about noon to see if my truck was ready the not so nice sales person on the other end gave me a bogus times with sarcasm. I went there later assuming the truck should be ready. The douche bag behind the counter responds, "oh I called you so many times without a response" really because my phone like so many other people I know is usually in hands reach especially if I'm waiting to pick up my car. Bottom line, if you drive a little car with stock tires I'm sure you'll be ok, but take a car/truck with some huevos behind it, the douche bags here might cry. read more

I rented a Enterprise passenger van to enable our family to go to a wedding all together in one vehicle. After picking up the van from the SD Airport rental facility, I noticed that the right-side directional signal, backup and brake/tail light was indicating on the dashboard that it had issues (fast blinking). After contacting Enterprise about the issue, they recommended for me to take the van to the nearest Firestone shop. We were very lucky to connect with the Firestone shop on Lake Murray Blvd in La Mesa to troubleshoot and fix the issue. The Service Manager, Dave Margo, was great in recognizing our need to expedite the troubleshooting and resultant repair. He was extremely helpful, accommodating and very nice during the engagement. It got fixed asap and my family was able to proceed to the wedding site without further issues. And, as a result of this excellent customer service, I am planning to bring my automobile maintenance needs (4 vehicles) to this shop. Thanks Dave for your excellent service! read more

Brought my 2005 Camry in because the check engine light popped up. They proceeded to tell me that there's no major issue, just my transmission fluid needed changed. Funny thing is, I just got it changed two weeks ago. Then they claimed it was the coolant, but I didn't have time to get that changed so he told me to just come back tomorrow. So, I drove off the lot, got two miles down the road, and my car broke down. How freakin perfect! Ended up getting towed back to the shop and they kept my car overnight. They called me the next day to tell me there's nothing wrong with my car at all. But then proceeded to tell me my car will break down a few times here and there. My car ran PERFECTLY before I took it here. Never again. read more

After having my car serviced at El Cajon Honda (oil change and tire rotation), I was told that I needed rear pads and brake system flush. I told the service advisor at Honda that I had just had both in April '15 at this Firestone, and that I was suspicious at that time as to whether or not that service, along with oil change, tire rotation, coolant flush and transmission flush were even all performed, given the time, or lack thereof, that it all took. I also mentioned to the service advisor at Honda that Firestone had been telling me for a couple of years that I need my rack and pinion replaced! He actually laughed at that! I returned to Firestone today with my receipt from April '15 and spoke to I believe Craig, although he didn't have a name tag on. I asked for the manager and he said that he was the manager, which is interesting in that I believe I spoke to a Luigi after my initial experience here and was told he was the manager. I explained my visit to El Cajon Honda and my conversation with the service advisor there. I then pointed out that I had the same services recommended today that were supposedly done less than 14 months ago (remember, this same Firestone also recommended a brake flush and fuel system cleaning 4/15/16 when I brought my car in for a new battery!). He remembered me since I had complained before and actually said I should go back to Honda for service. When I pointed out that both the pads and brake flush were warranted for 24/24000, he said only the pads were warranted. At this point, I walked out. My next step is to see if another Firestone will honor the brake warranty. If not, I write it off to a bad experience and do everything in my power (and social media power!) to prevent others from getting ripped off by this location. read more

Watch what they do to your car when they offer you a vehicle inspection! I was here 2 days ago, and between Omar or Felipe (the mechs), one of them did not check the car's tire pressure as they reported on the vehicle check sheet. Today I am here for a valve replacement because the air-in stem on the tire is super corroded and Firestone (today) cannot remove it...something they reported in writing that had been done without issue 2 days ago. How about that for gun decking a service? They probably don't do many other "services/repairs" they claim and charge for altogether. read more

I first went to the Firestone in La Mesa to get a new tire because I had a flat and it was close by. That process went relatively fine. However, I soon thereafter had to have my car towed there to get a new starter put in. While Firestone was putting the starter in they did a general inspection and amongst the list of things they recommended I have done for my car was a brake fluid exchange. I thought that was strange because I had just had a brake fluid exchange done less than 3000 miles ago! I went back to Firestone and asked them about how they tested and determined that I needed this service and they showed me a test strip they used to determine the parts per million. I asked if I could have a test strip to recheck my brake fluid and they gave me one. I took the test strip home and got completely different results!!! I have now taken my car to a different auto shop and they told me my brake fluid was absolutely fine!!! I especially do not appreciate an auto place trying to rip me off because I work really hard at 2 jobs and I have recently gone back to school and having a working car is critical! I would strongly recommend not going to the Firestone in La Mesa if you can avoid it! read more

I have to say that one of the biggest expenses is spending $$$ on care repairs/maintenance. It can definitely drain the pocket book. I have been to the Firestone in La Mesa numerous of times to get major repairs and maintenance done on my vehicles. I always get multiple quotes from different places and Firestone always beats the competitors prices. What I like in particular about this Firestone location is that along with the convenient hours, the customer service is absolutely top notch. Bryan and Frank really know how to do their best to make things right by their customers and thats definitely something that I appreciate. Places with the best customer service will ALWAYS get my business before places without great customer service. Plus they guarantee their work. Subaru sold me the wrong size tires for my vehicle a few months before, which Frank correctly and promptly identified when I showed up at Firestone with a nail in one tire. Frank was wonderfully helpful in getting me a great price for the new tires and in giving me the information I needed to deal with Subaru. I had a nail in my tire yesterday at 5:30 pm. I saw the nail. I tried going to the tire company I bought it from but they closed at 5:00 pm. I wasn't about to come back Monday morning. AAA explained it may take a couple hours to get out to me. I told the my car was drivable and found out Firestone was still open. I arrived at Firestone at 5:39 pm. When I went in there I was worried to getting in that evening because my car sat outside when they started locking up. I asked Josh if I had to come back and he said he had a mechanic working late so it wasn't a problem getting me in even though they closed at 6 pm. It started getting closer to 6:30. Finally the mechanic showed the nail was in the sidewall which was unrepairable. So between 6-6:30 my hunch told me to contact my automotive store friend for advice on tires because I had a feeling I was going to need it. So we were texting back and forth on tires that they had. I got the "Go for it!" on Primewall Valera Touring BL 195/65R15 because these tires were on sale and Made In USA. I saw a yellow dot on the tire which is straight from the manufacturing company in Alabama. They were the last 4 tires in stock. My out of store cost was discounted more because I signed up for the Firestone card which gives me 6 months interest free. Very happy with my choice. I even asked to include Road Hazard Protection. Thank you to the mechanic who hung in there for me and Joshua who stayed with me an extra hour to get me set up. read more

We have been using this shop for 10 years or so. Ron was the manager for awhile and he was great. The next manager (Margaret) almost always gave us a hard time with accepting competitor coupons, and we even called the HQ about this and were considering switching to another shop after so many years. But, there is new manager Danny. So far, we had a good experience and decided to stay. When we shared our previous experience with Danny, he appologized and offered us a free oil change at the next visit. This is good customer service in my book. read more

I'm only giving 4 stars because if the work had been done right the need for reimbursement would not be necessary. I had my van prepared for a 4K trip to play a concert in Montana - I was already doing this out of pocket. I went to Firestone La Mesa to have it serviced and inspected. They replaced a Tire Rod and Bearings, Oil change, and full inspection. I had to bring the vehicle back for an alignment, balancing, and reset the tire pressure warning light the next day. All services were completed promptly. On the way back from Montana the converter and muffler dropped out of the chassis. Fortunately we were pulling into the parking lot of the hotel where we planned to spend the night. It could have been much worse if this happened in the desert between Arizona and Las Vegas. AAA towed my vehicle and the repair shop "Allied Auto" had it ready to go the next afternoon. The converter hangar and muffler supports were so rotted it just dropped out. I took my receipts to Firestone La Mesa and they agreed it was an oversight and promptly reimbursed me for the repairs. The manager was polite and cooperative. read more
