I tried them out one hot day for an oil change, saw Pete Rzab the Store Manager I him recognized for his excellence, and customer support from another Firestone he previously worked. The staff here is welcoming, and friendly. They are a team of AMAZING professionals! I cannot say enough for this team of professionals Tyrese is a great Ambassador for the organization! I was in town from out of state visiting family for a few days, but needed to get my brake pads/rotors replaced. They were able to fit me in the last hour before they closed, and stayed after to make sure everything was working properly and ready so I could leave same day. I'm very grateful for the their friendly service and though the price was a little high, was impressed with the turnaround time. I am writing this review which will be followed by a complaint against the Firestone facility at 170th and Torrence Ave in Lansing, Illinois. This review concern actually damage to my vehicle by this location and the manager name "pete". Who I say in advance has no integrity whatsoever and I do hope that he is removed from that managerial position, AT LEAST. I had my vehicle, 2019 land rover discovery sport, a pristine vehicle prior to this and never even had a check engine light, towed in for a dead battery because the vehicle is so temperamental jumping it can disrupt computers. I had it towed in on the 9th of September, they held it for several days then started adding all sorts of things in order to increase my bill. They wanted me to pay for a new battery to test the alternator, then they said the serpentine belt was broken - the vehicle can't drive with a broken belt, that had to be a lie, then they said the serpentine pulley is loose, then they said they couldn't find the pulley anywhere so they "have to get it from the dealer and that would triple the price - mind you, I went online afterwards and found this pulley absolutely EVERYWHERE and when I called back to tell them that they claimed that they only deal with one supplier and they don't have it - more lies. When I called back on the day it was supposed to be done this liar named Pete tells me "we finished the replacement but its running very rough and it has about 15 new codes on it". This vehicle was PRISTINE before they got it. When he told me it was ready, I got there and he tells me " I replace the battery, serpentine belt and pulley 2,117.57 and Im not charging you anything". At that point I became extremely worried because no mechanic forges a complete bill unless he F'ed up, and he did - in the worst way. When I went out and started my vehicle I almost cried from the sheer sound and the way it shared violently. I went back in and asked him what gas did you put in my car and he stated "only the best" - liar. I insisted on leaving my car as I was afraid to drive it and he refused to keep it on their lot. I drove the vehicle away, reluctantly, but about four blocks away it stopped accelerating and shut off. I had to coax it to the curb. After about 10 minutes I restarted it and very slowly moved it into walmart parking lot where it sits today. A perfectly pristine vehicle now doesn't run. This guy who is the manager has no integrity AT ALL. Days later I was able to get a certified mechanic to look over the vehicle and according to him their was some circuit issues "likely due to whomever programmed the car" there was sludge leaking from underneath the car. We found out that they removed the axle to replace the serpentine belt and tore the boot in the process. There was never anything wrong with the serpentine belt and the tensioner pulley was fine. They fabricated all these repairs in order to jack up the price. None of these things needed repair or replacement. Now this guy Pete says he did nothing wrong. This guy needs to be fired from this job. He has no integrity. He damages cars and thinks he can get out of it by lying. Don't ever take your car to this guy. You will be much better off with an alley mechanic than here. I went into the back because I went through the wrong door and I see two seperate mechanics with their phones propped up against their respective station walls looking at YouTube videos to com0lete the work they must not have known haw to do. Don't EVER go to firestone. They are basic mechanics with no to very little skills. I urge you. I Urge You. I URGE YOU...DO NOT EVER EVER EVER take your car to this place; ESPECIALLY LUXURY CARS. These guys are TERRIBLE at what they do. Run away from this place. I wouldn't put air in my tires at any Firestone in the world - EVER!!! DO NOT WALK... RUN...THE OTHER WAY! I received the most incompetent service today. I came in around 9:30 am because my tire was leaking air and needed to be patched. I was told I would be the next person in. It took 4 hours for my car to be moved from the lot, only because I went out there to check it. Jasmine & Pete are rude, lack customer service skills, and are extremely incompetent in their jobs. The technician could not locate the key to remove the lock from the tire. Asked if he checked the gloved compartment and he stated he did. Had to remove all the items from the trunk just for it to be in the glove compartment, still in its original package because it's a new car. They don't keep the place up. The bathrooms is filthy and there are leaks everywhere. It smells like mold. Every customer that came in eventually left because it took so long. The ones with appointments came in aggravated because they didn't receive any updates that their vehicles were delayed. They only want to scam customers and sell tires that don't last. One gentleman stated he's bought several tires and since he has bought them from this place he has to constantly go out air in them. To further frustrate customers they find it comical to make matters worse by stalling if they feel like customers are asking too many questions. Jasmine spent hours talking about food but could not answer basic questions. Theres a better branch on Doty, please go there if you can. Not sure how they are still in business if a small repair to a tire takes 4 hours. read more

My tires were not there for my scheduled installation appointment (even though I received email that said they were delivered). I waited almost 2 hrs before they told me that the tires were currently coming off the delivery truck for that day. After the install, I received 3 gray and 1 black tire cap (on brand new tires). Tire psi was extremely too high in front tires. I went to the gas station and noticed the tire stem looked weird, touched it and the air started coming out of stem easily, went back to Firestone (for the 3rd time that day) only for them to tell me that the tire stem was corroded. Based off these minor issues, my tires could not have been fully inspected after install. Customer service acted like I was bothering them whenever I did have a question. Attitudes were apparent from the very beginning of my visit. I was there on & off from 9a til after 4p for four new tires to be installed (they close at 6p). That entire situation was, most certainly, NOT good customer service. I literally went to the gas station across the street when I noticed the tire stem. I went right back across the street to Firestone within 5 min. Upon returning, 2 associates ignored me while standing at the register. I waited about 8 to10 minutes before anyone came to assist me... even though I saw associates just standing there talking, plus the ones who just looked at me and kept going (probably because I was asking too many questions). No one explained breaking my new tires in, warranty, repair service, or the receipt before finalizing my payment. I'm hoping I don't have any issues because I honestly don't even feel safe since the tire install. I've made a service appointment with the dealer for a full inspection. I went to Firestone because they are a trusted company that I've done business with in the past (at a different location of course). However, Firestone in Lansing, IL will never get my business again. And I'm sure they could care less. This is just a firm review from an honest place, after a bad experience. read more

Needed four tires for my car. The inside is very clean for and auto place. The seats were comfortable and had cushion on them, wasn't hard like most auto places.The staff were nice and funny. I traveled from Indiana to this location, and it was more than worth it. I had an appointment for 11a, and Dennis was grabbing my keys at 10:55a. Dennis and the mgr/supervisor on duty were extreme professionals. I really felt like I can trust them, and not have that usual feeling I get of being ripped-off. TL;DR: Terrible stay away. I went there to get 2 tires mounted and balanced. From the moment I walked in, I had a bad feeling. I've been going there for about 5 years and was always impressed with their professionalism and speed. This time, however though, things were different. One of the techs was standing there, hair unkempt, wearing a pink shirt. I had no idea he worked there. He did try to argue with me about how I wanted my tires set up (I wanted the freshest tires in the front so in case of an emergency stop, the best tires will assist the brakes. I understand that he was just trying to give me advice, but without knowing he worked there it was not pleasant. Even after I explained how I wanted them set up, he just kind of walked away without confirmation of my request. As I was sitting there, it took about 2 hours from talking at the desk to driving out. In this time, literally no one else's car was completed. There was a lady who had been there since they opened with an appointment right at 8 am. After her waiting 4 hours, she demanded they give her her car back so she could go some place else. I can't say I blame her as looking into the window, you can see about 4 techs all just milling about. There was no sense of urgency or duty to their work. When the tech came to pick up my car, I heard him floor it from the parking lot to the bays. I have a 5.0L V-8 with a cat back exhaust. I know that it was my car and I know there is no reason for him to hit the gas like that. I know he's not going to hurt the car, but where is the professionalism? After everything was done, I paid the invoice and drove home. I made it about half way home before my low tire pressure light came on. I pulled over into the gas station and noticed the tire was at 15PSI, it should be at 35 PSI. Also, my rim had tire lube all over it. I rubbed off the extra tire lube and filled up my tire thinking that maybe they didn't fill it. Once I got home, my low tire pressure light came on again. This was only 10 minutes after filling it. I checked and it was at 20PSI. I filled the tire back up and went to bed. The next day I wake up and see my tire is flat. I went out and checked, my tire was at 4.5PSI. I filled the tire up once again and was going to return to Firestone to get it fixed. I noticed that when I lightly touched the air valve, air came rushing out. I figured it was just a cracked valve stem or a defective one. I understand that things like that can happen and it's no ones fault. I took the rim off and returned and asked them to fix the valve stem. The same gentleman in the pink shirt who serviced me the last time, serviced it again. Once again there was plenty of techs inside the bays, but no one was working. It took them about an hour to get the tire fixed. I understand that we walked in there without an appointment, but it's so much more frustrating when it looks like no one cares or is working. This time the valve stem seemed okay, until I drove to work the next day. The next day my low tire pressure light came on yet again. Sure enough it was the same tire that they swore they fixed the last time. Would you believe it was a leaky valve stem yet again? I called off work early and went into the store to voice my complaints. The lady behind the counter remembered me and seemed genuinely sorry that I was unsatisfied and gave me a full refund. That may be the best part of the customer service. I took it to a tire repair shop down the street. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes and they confirmed that the valve stem was improperly installed. I use to recommend Firestone to everyone as they were the best. I'd always recommend them for tires and alignment services. After seeing how the other customers were treated and how I was treated. I just can't recommend them anymore. read more

Made an online appointment showed up at my time and waited two hours in the lobby to find out the online appointment set up doesn't mean anything to the store rep. At first he told me two cars ahead of me then after they pulled two cars out I asked again and still said two cars ahead of me. So he kept putting people ahead of me that called, over me which he had my name written down for 9am. Had he told me as soon as I got there I would of rescheduled but to let me sit for two hours then tell me the online appointment means nothing to him that pissed me off. read more

Had 4 tires mounted Sunday 8/23/15 and had great service by CHAD. Prior to my appointment I spoke with CHAD 2 times and both times he explained prices throughly and was professional. I had four tires installed at the lansing location. When they called to let us know the vehicle was ready, we were told that my wheel lock broke off and they put on a regular lug nut. When we came to pick it up, the guy just gave us the wheel lock and key which were both damaged and proceeded to ring us up as if nothing had happened. I asked what their remedy was going to be to fix the problem they had created. I was offered an oil change. I didn't want an oil change. They broke a part off my car so I wanted either the part replaced or the monetary value. He kept asking what I wanted so finally the manager told him to take something off the bill. They should have offered that in the first place instead of me having to bring up the situation. Now fast forward a few days.....We are trying to take the wheels off to change the brakes and they are impossible to take off. It's Sunday so we decide to take the car to the nearest Firestone(103rd & Cicero) to get the lug nuts loosen. They had so much trouble getting the lug nuts loose they told me I need to take it back to the location I bought it from. This just goes to show you how tight they put it on where the wheel lock was broken. I could have been stranded with a flat tire with no way of getting the tire off. I wouldn't get anymore tires put on here, but I do thank Jason for loosening the tires. read more

I was in Lansing having lunch, and thought I get trust them to replace my break pads. While I was having lunch across the street, they had someone call me and "convince" me that they could not do the job, unless I get all new front and back rotors and break pads. Since I had a good experience with the Schaumburg location, I trusted them and paid almost a grand to get this job done. After I left, two days later, I started hearing screeching sounds EVERY time I slowed down our got to a stop sign. They kept getting louder and louder. Soon people driving in my car would question it. I took it back, and a manager who was telling me he had limited time to work on it, and that he had a young man drive it, and he "did not hear anything." Then, I left, and as I was driving away, the sounds got worst. On the third time bring it back to them, They "held" it for 30 to 40 minutes, and then gave it back to me with no explanation of what they did to fix the problem. The sounds continued. When I took it back after talking to the manager, they said they would have to replace some things. After that visit, all of my tires started to have a brown rusted film all over the rotors and break pads and the sound came back even worst. So I TOOK THEM BACK, AND WHEN THEY TOOK OFF THE TIRES, ALL OF THE BACK ROTORS WERE SO RUSTED THAT HE IMMEDIATELY TOLD ME HE WAS REPLACING THEM. I question now whether they were "new parts" from the beginning. He said they were and they insulted me by making a sarcastic question, "Did YOU parking and a water puddle?" I just ignored it. Mind you, they were the only ones touching my car through any of this, Now again, the sounds returned and may break parts have brown dust on them, and VERY loud screeching sounds every time I touch the breaks. I asked for my money back after filing a complaint with the customer care and their "Regional manager" not reaching out to me. They asked me to go back to the store and they would reverse the charge on my card. While the young man who was begrudgingly refunded it, he said he was only going to refund the front part of the job. I responded with a common sense reply, "How do you know hat was wrong with it, since no one even told me what they did to my car every time I brought here, and did not even give me a written report or verbally review what they have done?" The only response was, "you won't qualify for a warranty if you get this refund!" I replied, you won't have to worry about that, because you won't be touching my car anymore." And let me say this for the public record: I don't care about a warranty, once I have a third, party inspect what they have done, and my car is damaged, WE ARE HEADED TO COURT. " read more

Caught a flat on 94 and brought the car to be serviced here, the guy at the desk never made eye contact to tell me I was next, just yelled "NEXT", ok fine, after explaining the situation he tells me my tire is ruined because I filled it with fix a flat and I would have to buy a whole new tire, and it would be an hour wait before they could even begin. I left, went 5 miles down Burnham to a Hispanic tire shop where they dismounted the tire, rinsed the fix a flat out of the tire, patched it up in 10 minutes and charged me $15...wouldn't recommended this place at all unless you like bad attitudes and staff unwilling to explore options to help your situation. I typically don't bother giving reviews, but my experience here was so terrible I feel like people need to be warned. I made an appointment online several days ago to have 2 tires replaced. I received an email back confirming my appointment and the tires I had selected. When I arrived for my appointment this morning, the man working the counter acted like he didn't know why I was there or that I even had an appointment (although later in the conversation he referenced the year, make and model of my car, even though I hadn't told him). As I was attempting to tell him what tires I wanted (which were confirmed via email) and what size tires (which were also confirmed via email), he interrupted me and told me those tires weren't in stock. He told me another tire was the EXACT same as the tires I requested, and the only difference was their name. I reiterated to him multiple times that I needed 'all season' tires and did not want the racing/performance tires. After several more instances of his "superior male attitude" in which he attempted to make me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about as far as MY car goes, he took my keys and I waited for my tires to be put on. As I was waiting, I Googled the tires he sold me. Three websites described them as 'summer tires', a fourth described them as '3 season tires', all four websites described them as racing tires, and all of the reviews said not to drive them in snow or freezing temperatures. I live the the Chicago area...I NEED all season tires!!! I was so furious, I asked for my car back and I left without getting the tires. Not only is their customer service terrible, but either their employee is a liar or simply doesn't know what he's talking about. And his attitude is quite different with women than it is with men, as I witnessed and experienced. I cannot speak of the employees working on the vehicles as I had no interaction with them, but my experience with the man working the counter was absolutely horrendous. read more

Don't trust them. Don't be fooled. I took my car in just to have them check a tire that was low on air. They have added air to my tires before without incident. Next thing I knew, my car was up with the hood open. Why? When I simply asked to have tire pressure checked particularly for 1 specific tire. Salesperson explained that the mechanics "normally" check all fluid levels. I had to demand to get my car brought back down to simply have that 1 specific tire checked. While I waited, I heard same salesperson come back into waiting area to inform a customer that their simple repair was worse then expected. He yelled back at the mechanic, "Wasn't it worse than we thought? It was! Wasn't it!" He did that again to another customer - jacking up the repair costs possibly for repairs that weren't needed! I caught on and demanded my car back. The salesperson visibly argued with the mechanic; car brought down and hood was closed. Salesperson threw my keys on the counter instead of handing them to me. Needless to say, They added air to my tire. Told me I had a nail in it and that was it. Completely rude! And the manager (Vito) was at the counter witnessing the entire thing. This salesperson tried to insinuate that my tire was flat when it wasn't, simply low because of the nail. He tried to take advantage of me and thought I wouldn't catch onto his deceitful tactics. I had two visits at the Firestone location on Torrance in Lansing, Il. My first appointment was somehow not documented in the system and I was turned away because this location was booked. My second appointment was made in desperation because I was over due, and this was the only location with the availability I needed. The associate did not greet me but asked me "why don't I go to my dealership for my oil change?" I asked him "why are you asking me this question when I am here for an oil change?" He stated that he was concerned about my warranty which was none of his business. Afterwards, I still checked in hoping to get my oil change at the appointment time. It was not until an hour later after my appointment time that my car was seen. I will not do business here again. I vow not to wait too late for an oil change again. Please do not go here for brake services! I scheduled an appointment with firestone in Lansing. IL to have brake pads, rotors, and brake shoes replaced last week. It took them 4 hours to repair the brakes, after being told that it would take approx. an hour and a half, which was an extreme inconvenience because I had to have a ride pick me up. The next day after my car had been repaired, I noticed that my brakes were still making the same screeching noises as before they were replaced. I revisited them to have them and explained my frustration with the brakes not being repaired correctly and had them take another look at it. I waited an hour and a half for them to tell me that they could fix the brakes, however it would take another hour and a half for them to actually repair them.
