I bought my '22 Outlander fresh off the lot, 3.5 yrs later, every time I have to take my vehicle in for maintenance and step foot in that place, I am never disappointed! They take such great care of me as a vehicle owner, and my vehicle itself. They have taken care of every oil change I've gotten since I purchased. What a savings! I appreciate the car washes after my oil changes, the burst of air freshener when my vehicle is returned to me, as well as all the other little accommodations and perks that come along. The customer service in general is always FLAWLESS. It's been a no hassle situation since I purchased. My husband drove by this dealer many times because there was a jeep I liked. When my husband emailed them for info it took them many days to respond. We were at the dealer standing in front of the jeep when they responded they no longer had that car. When we told them we were standing in front of it, they said it was for sale and was going to the auction. This was late October. It is now January and the jeep is still on their lot. Very sad that when I wanted to buy a cat I really liked they were sketchy about it.. I went to a different dealer and spent my money on a different jeep. One positive thing I can say is that they had my car in stock during the pandemic. It all went down hill after that. The car has had issues with hood flutter at speeds above 60. Their service center is slow to respond (If at all) and they have still not fixed my issue. Regarding the car - this is my first Mitsubishi. Some things I like. Lots of cool tech. But Ive already had to replace the Windshield due to a crack (my first cracked windshield in 32 years of driving) and be warned this seems to be a common issue with my make and model. Add to that the hood flutter which is very unnerving and STILL not fixed after two service appointments, and I've been waiting over 8 days for a return phone call to their service manager. I was okay with my Outlander Sport as it was cheap to drive and maintain... but today my car shut off on me twice while I was driving. It was as if the key was turned off while I was going (luckily) 5 mph in a parking lot and again while I was in town going about 45 mph. The first time this happened, I called South Suburban to ask service if they've heard of this happening in model's like mine... lady said "uhh, hold on", and put me on hold for 5 minutes, then answered the phone only to put me on hold for another 5 minutes, then hung up on me. I called back and a different lady in service answered and told me my 4 year old car is out of warranty but if I'd like to have my car towed, or drive, to the dealer, they will perform a $180 dollar inspection with that money going towards the repairs which could start out as low as $1,000. I said "thank you" and told them I will figure something out. Didn't really have anything too negative to say about my car or this dealership, but after the lack of care I received while I was driving my car and it shut off a second time in the middle of me being on hold with a service rep who couldn't care less of my situation, and then having a second service rep proudly give me their service fees to fix my "just out of warranty" car... read more

I called to schedule an appointment and they squeezed me in the next day. I brought my car into South Suburban for a routine oil change. Upon arrival, Keith asked me if there was anything else he needed to know about the vehicle. I said someone must have backed into me and left some white paint scuffs on the driver side front bumper. Black car, no real damage - just the big scuff. After completing the oil change, Keith told me his detail guy was able to buff out the scuff entirely. No charge. Moreover, he popped out the cabin/engine air filters, cleaned them off and recommended replacing them. They also did a multi-point check on the vehicle just to make sure all things were running smoothly. They made some recommendations for brake replacement in the near future but were not pushy at all about scheduling a time. Keith is a car guy and you can tell he is passionate about his job. As a fellow car guy, it is refreshing to work with people that just want your car to run as well as you do. South Sub is a pleasure to work with and I will certainly be bringing my car back. read more

Was interested in a vehicle and after putting a request online to take a look, received three emails, two phone calls, voicemails and texts from Tracey Henson. Made the appointment to look at the car and after driving an hour and a half, the car was sold and Tracey was no where to be found!! Terrible customer service when you make an appointment to view the car (have to confirm multiple times) and then they don't even have the decency to tell you it's been sold! The service manager (Keith) at this dealership is dishonest and horrible. Please don't buy any vehicles from this place and definitely don't have your service done here!!!! The tie rod broke on my right front wheel. I gave no authorization to fix the tie rod but I definitely didn't authorize $2700.00 worth of work! When I left with my vehicle, I was threatened by the service manager that he would call the cops. I called the police department myself to see if this South Suburban dealership could do unauthorized work on my vehicle, strong arm me into paying for it, or file charges against me if I kept my vehicle without paying for work that I never authorized. The female Matteson officer said "Yes, the dealership can file a report" To avoid being arrested, I returned my vehicle in hopes that the general manager would see thru the lies of Keith the service manager, and the overall wrongdoing of the service department in doing repairs on my vehicle that I didn't authorize. Unfortunately, though the General Manager is nice, he's a profit-driven bottom line guy who cares not whether I authorized the repairs, his position is...we repaired it, pay for it!!! I've owned my Mitsubishi since March 2019 and dealing with the people at this dealership has been awful. I have never dealt with a dealership that did nothing to try to assist with a problem. Every issue I have ever had and leading up to my current one which is my car being totally out of oil twice within the past 6 months, and I've had all my oil changes done by them and on time. But there was so little oil that the dip stick was burnt, but again they take no responsibility in this and even had me to pay for a diagnostic check, when I was currently under a oil consumption test when the oil was empty just on last Thursday. They are doing everythin in their power to make it seem as though I've done something wrong when clearly it has to be the fault of the making of the car, Mitsubishi. I have now taken the time to write, email, call and send reviews to everyone I can think of. Between Josh the Service Manager, Josh & Kyle the service advisors...and even Keith the previous Service Manager are all talking exactly how apparently they have been trained by Mitsubishi. I will not stop until I feel that my issue has been addressed fully, and once I receive my money back for a diagnostic test that should have been done at no cost, in addition to having to have my car towed to them because they didn't want me to put oil in it which I wasn't going to do. But they wanted to charge me for the tow as well. This Mitsubishi has not mad me a happy customer at all, which is really sad. I even spoke with the general manager and all he could tell me was why not just bring that car back and let us put you in a new car. Its all about getting me to spend more money and for them to make money. I will never refer anyone to buy a car at this dealership, ever. But I will not stop until my issue is addressed properly. Next stop I'm calling corporate and emailing the General Manager Dennis Boston. And as i collect more names I will email, call, text or whatever I need to do to get my side heard and addressed fairly. I purchased my car 03/2019, had a good experience, very nice salesman, and then my nightmare started not a year later and it's been hell to this date 09/16/2021. I've dealt with service Mgr Keith, and General Mgr, Dennis, and even a customer Service somebody, named Dan Y! All have which done nothing but further piss me off! My issues have yet to be resolved and I've been only pushed off and pampered so they think. But I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to this dealership for nothing, not even the Free popcorn! Horrible service !!! Called to schedule an oil change and for them to check my thermometer&radio because it has been having problems for quite some time. They wanted to charge me over $260 just to troubleshoot my car. I pay a portion for some type of troubleshoot and KEITH (manager?) tells me if I want to fix the problem it will be $3,000!!! Not pushy like many other dealers. Unfortunately, my vehicle had issues with the sunroof. Keith in the service department was unaware of the issue. It took some time to figure out what was going on and what parts were going to be needed, in order to fix this problem. Keith-- was GREAT throughout this entire process as well! Once he was able to get to the root of my problem, not only did he start fixing it immediately, he gave me a loaner vehicle to drive and kept me updated every week they had with my car. I received ads and email offering Outlander at a discount rate. I got to the dealership and the pricing was not even close to the $20,000. I did not meet all the requirements for all the rebates needed to get the special pricing. Of course in the ads in small print that you need glasses to read it states you must meet all requirements. I found the staff at this place to be more friendly than the other auto dealers in the Auto Mall. Did not run across any high-pressure salesmen here. Just like Brian D. in the previous review, I had Mr. Loving as my salesman and also found him to be accommodating. Kudos to him! Too many of the salesmen in the other dealerships [**cough** Arnie-Bouer Ford **cough**] are high pressure. I would recommend checking this dealership first if you go to the Auto Mall if, like me, you are looking for a used car. They have more than just Mitsubishis in their used car stock! I bought my car from here and the service was very rushed. They offer free oil changes and I have to say it's a joke. They may be free but you have to wait weeks sometimes to get an appointment. Today the service department rotated my tires and my steering wheel started shaking while driving after the service. I returned and was informed it was nothing they did and they would charge me to balance the tires. Every time I come here the technician begs me to give him 10's on their survey. Maybe stop coaching and worrying about the surveys and actually do a good job and you'll get good survey responses. I have purchased two cars from SSM and I am shocked of the poor reviews. We have a long relationship so I won't say that I haven't experienced any problems but they have always addressed my concerns and dealt with them promptly. I believe it depends on the time of the year for the oil changes. I have received same day service and sometimes I have had to wait up to two weeks. I am a female and it is important that I trust my dealership. What I like most about SSM is I always feel that I am receiving a fair assessment and they are not charging me for unnecessary items. Again, I am shocked by the negative reviews and am certain that SSM would be more than willing to address all concerns if given the opportunity. Back in 2019 I purchased a 2019 outlander with South Suburban Mitsubishi, and when I bought it, I had the best customer service I had ever received in my life. So this past Saturday July 17,2021 I wanted into the dealership and I saw the newest 2022 outlander and decided to upgrade my vehicle. However the salesman who was already assiting me decided to assist someone else and left me hanging. He then started to assit me he ran my credit then he went outside to have a conversation with his work buddy. Eventually after waitng for three hours I got fed up and he noticed so we agreeded on an appionment date for Monady July 19, 2021 at 5:30. I was told I was in the system so it should be faster. On 07/19 I left work early to be on time for my 5:30 appionment with the same salesman who assisted me this past Saturday. I waited an hour before I had enough, I told them I leaving, so then they had somebody else come and assist me but that salesperson also jerked me around. He took some of my information, he said I am going to check out your car I will be right back. He left and ran my credit again without my permission this time. He then decided to have a 30 minute conversation with his buddies in the office while I was still wating at his desk. After 2 1/2 hours I left. No new car if they didn't want my business they could've let me know instead of wasting two hours of my time that I will never get back. I will never go back to this place again. read more

I have been regularly going here for service since I purchased my Mitsubishi Lancer from this dealership 10 years ago. First let me say I love my Mitsubishi and have nothing but great things to say about my car and the sales process back then was painless. I did get the free oil changes when I purchased so I have been bringing my vehicle here for service since I purchased it. I had always been more than happy with them and did alot of the services they recommended until about the past year or so. The service advisor Jake was absolutely rude to me the most recent time I had my vehicle in and the service manager Kevin is even worse. I brought it in for a recall, oil change and I need a new tire pressure sensor. Long story short, they charged me $120 for labor on trying to program my old sensor and they were unable to program it. They wanted me to pay for a new sensor and another hour of labor to program the sensor from them. They also said I needed to pay $50 to have my battery cleaned and a few other things including a license plate bulb they tried to replace the last time I was there and were unsucessful replacing! Bottom line is I told them no, let them do what they had to do for the recall, unhappily paid the $120 for nothing and still left with my tire pressure light on because I decided I was not giving them another dime. I will definitely not be going back here for service even though it is convenient and will not be purchasing my new mitsubishi here either. read more

If you're thinking about buying a used car from them... DONT. I have so many complaints about this business I don't even know where to start. My fiancé and I bought a used car from them about 2 months ago. We've maybe had the car for 3 out of those 8 weeks because it's had to go in for service so many times. The fact that they own the extended warranty company that they offer buyers is a HUGE red flag, and even though the contract clearly states if you live more then 40 miles from the selling dealer you can take it elsewhere, the catch is they have to tell you where you can take it or else they won't pay for the work. So my most current option was bring it back to them or bring it to another dealer in the same auto mall... even though that's the same amount of miles.... The service department manager Keith is horrible. Last time I spoke with him I completely lost it and was practically screaming at him. Had to ask to speak with someone else because he was being so combative with me and wasn't listening to what I was saying. He tried to "end the call on a good note" before he transferred me to someone else by saying his techs had to vacuum the drivers side seat of the loaner they gave us because there was dog hair on it and if they wanted to they could have charged us $140 for a detailing. My fiancé works with dogs, and yes, dog hair gets stuck to his clothes. Sorry you had to take a vacuum to it but threatening to charge me for that is NOT how to diffuse a situation. We have to now contact them AGAIN because the issue with the car hasn't been resolved. Save yourself the stress and complete lack of customer service, take your business elsewhere. read more

If I could give negative stars I would! If you don't have A1 credit don't even waste your time* I just left from the dealership 20 mins ago (it's 4:33pm and I got there at 1pm) completely frustrated! So they had a "10 cent down" promotion for all credit scores. I double checked with Lexi over the phone that my super low credit wouldn't matter and that all I needed was proof that I make at least 350/wk I make way more than that and Lexi was very reassuring over the phone so I just knew I'd be coming home with a vehicle. I get there and after they put in my information and see which banks approve me they ask me if I can put any money down. This immediately alarmed me because I was reassured over the phone that I would only have to put 10 cent down regardless of credit. I let him know that was 100% not an option. So he asked if I could get a cosigner I let him know I couldn't. And he said he wish he could help me but he couldn't get me into a car without a down payment. I told him I was told my credit score wouldn't matter but he tried to cleverly tell me that the promotion is a lie. Long story short don't waste your time going up there if you have little or no credit they will disappoint you and waste your time. read more

I don't know if I was an exception or people who have a good experience here do not leave reviews... anyway, Christian Loving was my salesman and he couldn't have been more accommodating... I'm not a game playing negotiator so I always come in with the most I'm willing to spend, yeah they are car dealers so they are looking to make the most money on their cars so it took a couple days to close the deal when it could have been closed the first day I was there but that's all part of playing the game I guess... only possible negative I could say and it's a very small negative is that my car wasn't detailed as I would have expected but that has a lot to do with me getting there 15 minutes prior to closing on a Saturday so I 100% understand that... other than that, I had an absolutely great experience... I had even contacted Christian concerning the remainder of the factory warranty on the 2016 Ford F-150 many days after I purchased the truck and he was very quick to respond, he could have easily ignored me and said deal was done... again, my experience here was significantly different than these other reviews and I'd recommend going to see Christian Loving for your next car! read more
