My tire pressures were a few psi low. Tried filling the tires with air in the gas station on base but it didn't work too well. So I figured I try to ask Firestone for help. It was a Sat afternoon. One mechanic working on one car. Not too busy. But I had to wait for him to finish what he was doing. I asked for more air on all my tires and he went out of his way to do it. His name started with a T and was a unique name. I don't remember. He even gave me an extra tire cap since mine was broken. All of this did not cost any money. I hope he gets recognized! This my first visit. With that being said, I'll definitely be taking my truck here now as a regular. Make sure you talk to a guy name Bryan. Goes above and beyond to make sure you get what you need. I initially went in there for some new tires and an alignment. They didn't have the specific tires I was looking for so Bryan was able to get them from another shop and it took about an hour to get it. It was worth the wait though. Very professional from the second I was walked in. They'll give you updates on your vehicle as they work through it. Just a reminder, this is inside of a military installation. So base access is required. Military discount is offered as long as you show your military ID. read more

My car broke down on a Saturday and I live all the way in Oceanside. We went there for a quote and scan read on Sunday and one of the employees said it needed further diagnosis. His only person was available on Thursday so I left it nearby and my fiancé took it to the shop Thursday morning. I got a little upset at the fact that I dropped it off early on Thursday and I didn't receive any updated at the end of the day but I called and they didn't diagnose it. However, the next day someone called me and apologized for the inconvenience as well as to inform me about the recommendations for the car. I told them it was okay to proceed and they would have it ready at 6pm. They even waited for my fiancé to get off work AND gave us a $100 ish discount! Other than waiting a week to get it fixed it was awesome, friendly, and reliable. I recommend this shop! read more

We got an appointment last week for today to purchase and put on 2 tires on our vehicle but we were told upon arrival that it would take "at least" 2 hours to get it done. When we asked why it would take that long despite having an appointment and we were told an hour when we obtained the appt, the lady at the counter smirked and said that's just the "standard" time frame anywhere "even if you go to a dr's office" you would be waiting 2 hours. Really ? I am in & out at my dr's 5-10 mins that's why you get appointments @ even at Salons, dentists etc. I'm not sure what this lady is working at the counter for, seriously no customer service skills whatsoever . No apologies extended, said this is their norm. One gentleman had been waiting about 20mins with appt was told his auto part didn't arrive after all and that he had to re schedule . First off I'll say I made an appointment a week in advance to get TWO tires changed. Not to mention I already have the tires and they're new, they said they would put them on without any issues and balance them as long as the new stickers are on them which they were. Okay so I go in today for my appointment at 9 am right, and there's people already there walk ins right so I'm like okay I got an appt I'm good. NOPE I ask so how long will it take to change two tires? She's like you'll get your car back at about 5-6pm like wtf??!! Okay would it make a difference if I had an appt? She's like oh yeah like 1-2 hours I can have it done. Like f'ing what. For TWO tires it takes TWO HOURS OR ALL DAY??? Are you shitting me??? I can do two tires on my own at the auto skills center across the street in 20 mins or less and have them balanced and back on the car. SO WTF FIRESTONE. read more

I've been using this Firestone on MCAS Miramar to take care of two 10+ year old cars since they opened. These guys have been nothing but honest, reliable, and professional. One note up front! You need a military ID to access this location, as it's on base. Let's start with honesty, which is really what I'm always looking for when I'm looking to find a mechanic. There have been several times that I have come in with a problem that I was sure would cost hundreds, but these guys discovered a lower-cost solution. My fiancée has an old Civic that overheated on the freeway. I was sure there was a serious engine problem, and at first that's what they thought too. We was preparing to shell out $1,000+ for a fix, but they found a sensor that was deficient and figured it might be causing the problem - an inexpensive fix that had had that Civic on the road with no problems since. These guys will not screw you over. If you're in the military - and especially if you're stationed on Miramar - you won't find a better and more convenient place for auto repair. I am sadly PCSing soon, and I will be bummed to say goodbye to these guys (after one final oil change). Finding a good mechanic is hard, but if you're at Miramar look no further than here. read more

Started using Firestone at MCAS two years ago. If you are only looking for oil changes or tires they are adequate, but if you truly need qualified mechanics, RUN FOREST RUN. Twice now they told us they could do the required work but called 24 hours later to inform us they could only do half the work and we would need to pick up our car and find a qualified garage for the remainder of the work. The service managers are not very pleasant but don't mind asking money for services rendered. read more

Stay away. Husbands don't send your wife alone otherwise they're going to try having her paying 1500 for tires by telling her it's "super unsafe to drive", I checked and she had 4.5 mm of tread left. Service is bad, their integrity is worse. read more

I used to have my car serviced at another Firestone location in my neighborhood, which I brought them a lot of business. The last time I visited, the customer service was slow and they did not have time for questions. Both times that I have visited this new location, I have had really good experiences. The customer service managers were very knowledgeable and helpful. The service to both of my cars were above expectations. I did not have to wait over the amount of time that was promised for my cars to be serviced. We will continue to bring our cars to be serviced at this location as long as the service remains good. read more

I can tell you not where to go... stay away from Firestone Tire Center on Miramar Air Station. I had a smog check done there 2 weeks ago. While I was there sitting in their waiting room after about 20 minutes, I realized I had ants crawling all over me and in my hair. There was a trail of ants that were crawling on the wall that made their way on to the chairs and chair I was sitting. The person that identified himself as the Manager did nothing--no empathy and said they had no raid, blamed it on the base. Would take no responsibility for the ants and would provide me with any help to get them off me & my hair. read more

I woke up Sunday morning to find not one but TWO of my tires were going flat. I immediately started searching for tire repair shops in the area and found that the Firestone at MCAS Miramar was the only open one. Side note- why would all the tire repair shops be closed on a Sunday???. Anyway, Bryan took really good care of me that day and he was very nice and respectful. He informed exactly what was going on with my vehicle and helped me out with my particular situation. He never pushed for unnecessary services but he did let me know of things my car needs to be completely up to date. I unfortunately had a large piece of metal stuck in my back left tire. It was a brand new vehicle, and I was pretty upset. Fortunately, I was near the gate at Miramar. I barely rolled into the Firestone there with enough air not to damage my vehicle. The Firestone has closed 15 min before, but they were happy to help me. They were professional, quick, and sensible about replacing only 1 tire since the other tires were less than 1500 miles old. I had 3 kids ages 3, 5, and 7 with me. I purchased 4 tires from this Firestone center a few months ago. Yesterday, March 1, 2017 I discovered a slow leak with the driver side rear tire. Even though I live near Alpine, CA I decided to drive to the Firestone center where I purchase the tires. When I entered the building a customer service person were at the register. I told the gentlemen the problem with my tire and gave him my information so he can pull me up on his computer. He told me I didn't purchase a tire repair service from them when I bought the tires, and that it would cost me $26 to repair the tire. I was a bit upset with that answer, and said I will have to pay for it as the tire kept getting flat. Just then the guy told me I am going to have to schedule another day because they were full. At this point, I was very upset. I explained I drove almost 30 miles for help and this is the (lack) customer service I get? I explained I will not do business with this company again! The guy says "OK"! I am retired and on a fixed income and this is what I get for buying tires at this store on Miramar Bsae! The oil change I had took roughly an hour and 5 minutes. Which seemed a little long, but I wasn't complaining because only charging me $75.00 instead of $129.00 off base was awesome. My only complaint is that when I left my low tire pressure light was on. I have a damaged valve on one of my tires and they tried to put air in it, only letting air out because it was broken, now I have to go get the new tire I was putting off doing for a while. Oil change-good, service-good, just make sure you let them know what you want and ONLY what you want. read more

I appreciated their honesty. They didn't try to charge me for any extra work by "inventing problems". The appointment time was kept and the work was done in a timely manner.
