After having horrible experiences with Toyota of POWAY, I was on the hunt for a great place to bring my car to. My partner recommended this place because she has a Toyota as well. I also saw the reviews online and felt confident this would be a great place to bring my car, a 2016 Prius. I've brought my car in now three times. Once for a light issue I was having. In this instance they had to take out the materials in my trunk to get to my brake lights which took a lot of labor but was a simple fix of connecting the wires back. Along long with taking my Lexus here, I have begun servicing my Toyota SUV as well. Pandemic times have changed their operations up as they closed their waiting room but do have outdoor benches to kill some time. I'd bring a smartphone, book, or a coffee if the wait time they give you is an hour or so (it seems to be that for normal maintenance stuff). There is a Starbucks 1.5 miles down the road or you could Uber nearby to a Miramar eatery if you want to wait elsewhere. My daughter's Toyota Highlander was having electrical issues causing power steering and other functions to stop working making the car nonfunctional. The additional challenge was that the issue was intermittent. After spending several days trying to diagnose the issue, the team at Elite got the car working, but I was told they didn't fix it! They were deeply concerned and puzzled by the issue and asked that I drive the car for a week to see if the issue would re-surface. Sure enough, about 3 days later, the car stopped working again and back to Elite it went. More testing and the short in the rear view mirror of all places was finally found. I heard about Elite Service Center from a buddy of mine. He highly recommended this place when I mentioned that I needed to get my catalytic converter swapped out of my 2002 Toyota Camry. He told me that he had been a long time guest with Elite & that they specialize in Toyota & Lexus vehicles. He also mentioned that I ask for T. Skeptical, I decided to drive down & check it out. My first impression of the place was exceptionally clean & very professional. I was greeted with a smile upon entering & when I asked for T I was invited over to his desk & offered a seat. I told T about my car problems & he personally inspected the readings for my check engine light. When his diagnosis came back the same as the Toyota Dealership, he quoted me a fair price for the catalytic converter & labor fees when compared to what the Toyota Dealership was charging me. Sure I could have probably found it cheaper at another shop in town, but the fact that Elite Service Center utilize actual Toyota parts I felt my investment would be better spent here. I usually hate going to service centers cause it feels like they will give you bad customer in a beat up place with a side of up charges because I "need" a new air filter but judging from the reviews and me ignoring my oil light long enough. I tried out this place and it was amazing. Walked it and was greeted in a nice lobby. Told them what I needed and gave me a fair price of $53 for an oil change. They also checked all my tires and gave a summary of which ones are good or not. Gave me my battery life and they also asked if I wanted an alignment and I said sure but on further inspection they said I didn't need it. ( pretty happy they didn't just charge for the inspection) also the lobby was cool, got a coffee and did some work while I waited about 40min (place looked a little busy) so come early. I gave my keys to T and he said, "Ok Maria, when you get back, your car will be done!" My friend picked my up for lunch and we were off. We came back an hour later and voila! What my dealership lacked was the close out, which I've expressed on multiple surveys following my servicing. I never saw my intake person after I checked my car in and I was led straight to the cashier upon picking up my car. They said may need to change at the next check up. Well, 5k miles later they checked and said it was still good! I was kinda blown away by the honesty. I was seriously getting ready to have them changed out. It could have been driving habits but for the fact they were honest has to be highlighted. Pricing is better than going to the dealership of course, then again most places are "cheaper" than the dealership. I just want an oil change but the dealership only offers packages. I think overall I can maintain my car without the need for these packages. Such a rip. The two associates who work the front desk are great as well.
