I needed to get a tire changed after getting an egg in one from all the potholes and wild roads in New Orleans. Firestone did not have the exact tire I needed, but I bought it online and shipped to them, and the same afternoon it arrived, I took my car in to see if they could change it out any time this week, expecting to have to schedule a time to come back. They said they were slow, and would be done before they closed that same day. I guess fast means they change it while you're waiting, cause their "slow" worked perfectly fine with my schedule and I had them do an alignment for me too in that time. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, they didn't rush but got things done very efficiently. I have gone here multiple times but will not be back after today. This is a long read, but worth it if you're considering taking your business here. In March, I came in with a nail in my tire and they replaced the tire. While doing so, they did a general inspection, which included a brake fluid check. All good. I picked my car up the same day and everything seemed fine. Since I picked up my car in March, no one went under the hood of my car until last night (almost 11 weeks later). I stopped by another company to get an oil change. The workers were shocked that I had no brake fluid cap on my reservoir. They had to get the manager involved and do internal documentation because it's a safety issue. Important for later, this company doesn't do brake work, and they told me to go to a mechanic immediately the next morning. My mistake was thinking I should go back to this Firestone, since they were the last people under the hood of my car. Writing a review didn't even cross my mind when I learned of the missing cap (even if it should have--if you're not familiar, look up why they are important). It's what happened when I went to get a new cap and brake bleed that the reason I'm writing this review. The Firestone employee on duty was antagonistic from the start. It was just me and her in the room. I explained the situation. I wasn't there to debate who did it, but she was. I was told that it couldn't have been them because if they forgot my brake cap "I wouldn't have made it a mile down the road" (false, moisture leading to brake damage or failure would take time). I was told the oil change company I went to was trying to screw me over. When I explained why that didn't make sense (they took it for fun and told me to go get someone else to fix it since they don't do brakes...?) I was told that it must have been the people that did my oil change BEFORE this last one (which was almost a year ago at this point). I explained that that would mean this Firestone has had my car 3 times, checked the brake fluid 3 times, and never notified me the cap was missing. I then said "I'm sorry, but I don't know what to tell you. You were the last people under the hood, unless you're telling me someone broke into my car and stole my cap." I said this was a safety issue, but I was told to relax and again told that "if something were to happen, it would've happened back in March" (again, wrong). I told her I wanted a new cap and a brake bleed. She apparently didn't know what a brake bleed was and instead looked at me like I didn't know what I was saying. I couldn't believe the entire exchange when I left. There was a different, nice lady I spoke to when I went to pick my car up. She asked me what happened because the service write up in the computer wasn't clear to her. I explained. I started to tell her that I have never had an issue there and was disappointed in my experience this morning when I was cut off by the woman I dealt with earlier coming from the back. She acted completely different now that someone else was in the room. She made comments like "I don't know all about this stuff" and "we even did extra work and did a brake bleed" (not extra work, and after looking at me crazy for asking for one in the morning). I was polite and said thank you but had no interest in conversing with her while the other woman rang me up. After a some silence, the woman from the morning goes, out of nowhere, "we can point fingers all we want, but at least it's done." I was FLOORED (and by the look of the woman checking me out, so was she). I started to tell her I wasn't looking to point fingers, but she cut me off and said that she "didn't mean anything by it." I just said nothing the remainder of the time and got myself out of there. Entirely ridiculous, unprofessional, and quite literally the worst customer service I've ever had. read more

I had a damaged/flat tire that was difficult to remove because I had a security lug nut. That was also damaged and I was unable to remove it. Ellen at Firestone has a special tool that can remove damaged security lug nuts. She removed all four for me And got me back on the road in no time. This place is amazing! I showed up a few minutes early and they got me into the bay for my front-end alignment pretty soon after I arrived. 90 minutes later I was driving out. I could not ask or expect any quicker service. Located in the Warehouse District, this Firestone is very convenient for people who work in the CBD. I've used this location several times for non-scheduled maintenance. The most recent time it was for a tire issue on a Friday. I needed the car back by 3 since I was headed out of town. The shop was busy, but easily accommodated my issue. They installed two tires and I was done right on time. They are not good about calling you back all the time. Maybe it's just me, but I like to know what's going on with my car. Each time I have had to call them and ask for a status update. This is a full service shop and can perform even major repairs. I do recommend you call ahead if you know you will need service. I had an appointment for 1pm on Monday and got my car towed there at 11:30am, and at 4:26pm when I called, the guy told me my car hadn't been touched. If I could give zero stars, I would. I'm really upset. I live in Naples, Florida and was traveling cross country to Las Vegas. I needed to get an oil change on my 2022 Ford Explorer, so I scheduled an appointment online at the above Firestone for an oil change and tire rotation. I received a confirmation email acknowledging and confirming the appointment. I then proceeded to drive about 30 miles out of my way to go to the location. When I arrived, I was told they would not honor the appointment, it was made online and was just an automated response, it meant nothing. In fact the email response states "Warren, your requested appointment is confirmed". This store made a fool of me and wasted my time and gas money for nothing. Really disappointing. read more

I have repeated caught them trying to up-sell me product or services that my car doesn't need. I have used Firestone for many many years across the country and have found them to be dependable and trustworthy. This is an exception and you absolutely need to watch yourself if you're going to take the risk of letting them service your vehicle. They tried to sell me brakes when I didn't need them. They charged me $20 to clean a battery terminal that I discovered a week later was a dead battery and really needed to be tested and replaced. Who charges $20 to clean some corrosion off a battery anyway? They wanted to replace a cabin filter they had just replaced on the last visit! They replaced wiper blades that were perfectly fine with blades that don't even work. The people who have left positive reviews, in rebuttal to those who said that the negative review people don't know cars, don't know anything about cars. Back at you. They constantly wanted to replace tires that had passed tread tests and had plenty of mileage left. I'm sure that they can replace tires. Fine if that's all you need but they can't change oil without trying to sell you on something. Not once did we use them without them telling us we needed some kind of work. I called corporate to complain and they just send you back to the shop that caused the issue sadly. This is a bad shop. Each time I took it to other mechanics to check their analysis and each time they showed me where Firestone was wrong. The dead battery was the worst. Left me stranded. It takes 8 hours for an oil change. The service here is terrible. On our last visit they called to say I could pick it up it was finished. I showed up and it was still on the rack. They hadn't done our lifetime free alignment yet. I waited 30 minutes after waiting 6 hours and then they tried to sell me brakes. This is a terrible place. I went here because someone slashed my tires and they had the ones I needed in stock. While I was there, I asked them to change the oil. While the tires were fine, they told me I needed new brakes, which would be over $600. I took the car to my local mechanic who knows how to work on Mini Coopers for a second opinion, and they told me the brakes were fine. If trying to rip me off isn't bad enough, I just went to have my oil changed somewhere else and they couldn't remove the oil filter cap because the last place, Firestone, wrecked it. I had to order a new one, which cost about $40 and I'll have to put out more money to get a mechanic to remove the existing one. If they can't do that, I don't know what I'll do. I'm absolutely furious with this place and I will never do business with them again. read more

I caught this place trying to pull a fast one on us and take advantage of their customers BIG TIME. Long story short our air conditioner on our car blew out during a long drive through Texas. I knew this would certainly be costly. We figured we would take the car to get looked over at Firestone because it is reputable chain and we still haven't found a reliable mechanic in New Orleans. We showed up 7:30AM since they advised us to come early so it would't take very long. Things went downhill from here. Not only did my husband have to wait from 7:30AM-3:30PM (literally INSANE) just to have a diagnostic look at our car's AC....they stuck us with an estimate so high that I had to wonder if they were overcharging for parts and services we did not need. Boy was my intuition correct! They not only charged extra money just to look at the car (which I get but the amount was very high)....they tried to be pushy about changing extra tires that did not even need to be changed. After taking out car to its own dealership to be looked at...comparing parts and labor....Firestone seriously tried to overcharge us like we didn't know any better almost 1,500 more than what it should be. They lied to us about the condition of our tires saying the all needed to be changed, lied to us about parts that were needed to fix our AC which did not need to be changed, also lied to us about a bunch of other little things that they thought they could nickle and dime us for. Don't be fooled. This place is crooked. My advice is go to your own dealership or personal mechanic for repairs. At least they will be more honest than Firestone! read more

I should have read the reviews before taking my car to this place. They never priced me anything. My car was under warranty from another company out of state. Instead of working with the warranty company to get me the best deal, they completely took advantage of my situation by putting a more expensive tire on my car without talking to me about it. I've been to this Firestone location a number of times, and I rarely leave satisfied. Once I had a flat fixed and they charged me around $35 (twice what I normally pay for a simple flat repair) and they took hours to get to it and made me put the fire back on myself. Another time my car had to stay overnight because they couldn't get to it, but at least I was notified in advance. Most recently, I went to Firestone to get three tires replaced, a job that would take a tire tech less than a half hour. I was expressly told that it would be done by 5pm. When I arrived there around 5:30, my truck hadn't be touched. I was told that they couldn't get to it until the next day (yet I hadn't been called). I'd had to walk back home just to get my vehicle there, and a friend had to drive me to pick it up -- major inconveniences. One of the mechanics told me that he was sorry and if he had known he would have done something, and urged me to bring my vehicle in tomorrow for a discount. I really appreciated the sentiment, but there are chronic issues with gauging the amount of work this location can handle at the front. Although some of the staff are good and customer-oriented, the managment is all about cramming as many cars in the lot as possible and have their blameless employees apologize later. We had an appointment for an oil change at 1:00. So we dropped the car off and came back at 5 to find out it hadn't been done yet so we decided we would bring the car back and get it done another day, did not even get off the lot when the belt snapped. I informed him of my request the day prior, so he took my keys and said it would be an hour. I wandered out to chow down and do some shopping. I came back at about an hour later. My car was still sitting in the same spot. I waited in the waiting room for more than an hour, with no verbal contact from the guy behind the counter, except for one "your car will be out soon".. I should have just taken my keys and left at that point, but I was scared of my crappy donut tire, so I had to wait. I finally got my car back, and the counter guy made sure to tell me that someone had stayed late to finish my car.... um... way to make me feel bad? I would have left if someone was going to have to stay late. I won't be back. I gave a 2 star because it is rare in New Orleans that someone will stay late to finish a job, and the location is excellent. read more

I have been meaning to post this quick and simple review on this place. My husband noticed a nail on one of our tires and took it here to get check. They told him it needed to be changed as it couldnt be fixed. So basically - he had to purchase a new tire. He knew there was a chance of this not being true as the tire pressure hadn't changed since noticing the nail. He left and together we went to Al and Al's on Earhart and what do you know: the tire had not leaks. They ran that test where they put something on the tire, if it bubbles up there is a leak and if it doesn't your good to go SO we tipped them well and went on with our life with the same old tire. Avoid getting ripped off and go to Al and Al's where they treat you like family. read more

The worse Firestone ever. I have always taken my car to Firestone for the last 20+ years. I was excited to see one just blocks from my work and less than 2 miles from my house = Camp St location. On 7/11/13 - I took my car in for a tire rotation, air filter and replace headlight. When I picked up my car I was charged $48.50 for labor to replace the headlight. I thought that was extremely high, but this was the first headlight I had to replace in my car. Since then I have found out (and replaced the highlight myself). The only labor involved was unscrewing the cover, removing the housing, changing the bulb and screwing it back in. No tools required. A total of 5 minutes. This location give FIrestone a bad name. Hopefully they will be investigated soon. read more

Took my 2006 truck in to get the front brakes replaced. It took a few hours for them to get back to me with the cost, but I had been advised of this when I dropped it off; it's a pretty busy shop, and I expected to have to leave it there all day. When it tuned out after a battery test that I needed a new one (makes sense, I did not realize it had been almost 5 years since I replaced it) they worked with me to make sure I could get what was needed done within my budget. I have taken my truck to the Firestone on Carrollton in the past, and they are okay, but I will definitely be coming back to this one. Unlike some of the other reviewers experiences, they did not try to upsell me or recommend additional costly repairs or replacements, which I greatly appreciate, and frankly expected. All in all I am extremely satisfied and would definitely recommend them to others. read more

If you happen to live in the CBD, Warehouse District or simply work in these areas, this repair shop is a HUGE convenience! I've used this place about 3 times over the last couple years, mostly just to fix tire-related issues. The last time I was in here, I had brought my car in because the low air pressure indicator kept coming on in my console. I checked the tire and found that it was leaking air from somewhere but I wasn't sure where it was coming from. A few years ago, there was a MASSIVE recall on defective tire valve stems and I had thought there was a chance my tires were affected, too. I brought my car in promptly after work and a repairman asked me to bring the car near the garage so he could examine the tire. I brought the car around and he briefly checked the tire before finding a nail that was wedged in-between the tire treads. I told him I was going to leave the car there for them to fix but he denied me, stating that the garage was already full and that they were already taking appointments through the weekend. I had to set up another appointment for earlier next week to get my car in. After I made my appointment, the repairman offered to fill my tire back up with air and I was on my way. In the AM the following week, I brought the car in at 7 and returned at 4:30 to pick up my car. For some reason, the paperwork for the repair was not done so I had to wait in the waiting room while the mechanic at the front desk went out to the garage mechanics to obtain details on my repairs. When he came back in, he then told me that my car was not done yet and still on the lift. This shocked me because I brought the car in before anyone else. For such an easy job, I assumed they would have knocked that out quick. I guess they took the other high-dollar orders first. After about 15 minutes in the waiting room, they were done with my car, I paid my $20 and was on my way. All in all, I can't complain with this place. They have a substantially sized garage, they are in a prime location downtown and they do a solid job because I've not had ANY trouble with my tires since that last repair, which was almost 9 months ago. So why 4 stars and not 5? Well, one of my pet peeves is missing screw caps on valve stems. My car has metal caps and the cap on my valve stem for the repaired tire was not put back on. It may seem minor but that's something that irks me. The other issue is that when I brought the car in at 7 AM and there was NO ONE else there yet, they were still not done with my car at almost 5 PM in the evening, almost 10 hours later. Still, I highly recommend people use this establishment for tire replacement/repairs in the area. There are some suggestions, though. 1) Make sure to call ahead if you believe it's a large repair, just to ensure your vehicle gets serviced that same day and in a timely manner. 2) if you're like me, check your valve stem caps because the mechanics may have forgotten to put them back on. read more

I brought it in twice over a two day period for what turned out to be a problem with the electrical sensors.
