I'm disappointed that I have to write this, because when you find a shop you like, you stick with them. For about 6 years this was my go to place. I've had brakes done, oil changes (when I couldn't be bothered to do it myself), bought tires a few times and had those changed, inspections, and more. (I typically perform standard maintenance myself.) The employees and manager(s) were always fantastic and helpful. It was one of those places that said, "Hey your cabin filter's probably due for a change. If you want to do it yourself it's not hard, but we can do it for you for $X or Toyota might do it for free if you still have a maintenance plan with them." I used to work in my father's automotive and body shop and don't trust other ones easily but this is the type of response that makes me feel good about the place. The irony is that with this trust came recommendations. While they might not make bank on me, we've sent scores of people to them. However, today I brought in our two vehicles for inspection. I had called a few weeks before and the usual cheery voice got me on the schedule. As I've had simple issues before that would lead me to not pass, I checked the basics yesterday so i wouldn't have surprises today. After bringing in my first vehicle, I got a phone call saying that my car would need a new driver side wiper blade to pass as it was torn. I didn't mention the fact that I had checked it before bringing it in, assuming that the tech must have done it by accident. Also, it was raining the night before and I had rain on my windshield on the way there. I would notice if the blade tore off from the end on the way there. It wasn't that big of a deal though; the wiper was about 9 months old anyway. She asked if I wanted to replace the wipers for $50. Of course I asked if I could just run back over and put one on myself as I already had a set, and whoever called (I was told later it was the manager) said that would be fine. It's happened before and there was never an issue with this. (Again, it's why I checked the wipers before bringing it in.) I live about half a mile down the road and was there in less than 10 minutes. I walked over, changed the blade and walked in to have them finish up the paperwork. As an aside, the blade was torn inches (!) from the end, flapping in the breeze, so clearly not the way it was when I checked them the night before or when I used them on the way in. I was charged for the inspection and got my keys back. The person at the counter then asked what day and time I'd like to come back for a re-inspection since I had failed. That threw me for a loop. I explained the situation, and that it was only a driver side blade (probably torn by mistake) and that I was told on the phone I could just run over and replace it. He apologized and went to ask the manager and came back to apologize again and inform me that they'd be okay with fixing it right then, but that they'd still need to charge me for the "re-inspection." I think he could see how absurd it was and checked again. I paid because it wasn't worth asking him to go back a fourth time. I would understand if I failed for brakes or something more catastrophic and needed work done, but it was a wiper blade (that wasn't even torn when I brought it in). It truly feels as though it was done out of spite for me choosing not to pay for wipers when I already had new ones. Anyway, my wife decided she didn't want to have her car inspected there after that, and I agreed, so we canceled the appointment. We were also planning to get new tires for her car so opted out of that too. If the new management is going to be this petty and destroy the relationship, it's not worth going there anymore. Scheduled appointment for Sunday afternoon to have tires rotated an an oil change and was told that two had called off and I sho reschedule to avoid a long wait. Returned on Tuesday as scheduled and was told I would have a long wait and they suggested I return at 2pm. I returned and I waited for 40 minutes and then requested my keys back. They had no intention of accommodating me. I think they hate women. read more

My 78 year old husband made a 9am appt to get our snow tires changed to regular. Mind you, this is smack in the Corona virus quagmire, social distancing etc. we're retired, saving money and trying to preserve the snow tires for the future. Husband arrived ahead of 9am, 3 customers ahead of him It's now 10:30 and he's still waiting because he had to drive 40 minutes just to get into Painted Post from finger lakes. They're charging $89 I'm encouraging my husband to leave but he thinks it's more a waste of time to go somewhere else. I'm worried sick about him waiting in that dirty waiting room. If he gets Covid, I'll be sure to implicate this place cause my husband hasn't shopped anywhere else since March 19th. I do the shopping! I guess you might consider this our own fault but we expected a 9 am appt was to happen at 9 am. We're done w Firestone in PP, soooo disrespectful!! Update: it's 10:35 and they just NOW are taking the car in to change tires. Overall, these guys have never been very friendly to my husband w a severe hearing defect but this tops it off, royally. Done w this place! So much for helping and protecting senior citizens! Crap Update: husband home, charged $114.31 to change tires! No apology winter tires purchased at Firestone. Husband waited outside for most of his time waiting because small waiting room had 3 other customers! Just wrong! Last tire exchange was $89 in January Rippin off seniors in our opinion! Just like the review states, it was A-OK for me. They did good work but I was a bit surprised with the price - much higher than I would have expected. a $40 conventional oil change is a bit much for the area. I've seen them half that price. Also $70 to bleed brakes, when my tires were already off being changed? That's ridiculous. Although I was unhappy with the price, they did a good job, and they were quite flexible with when I could bring my car in. they also did not do anything without asking me first (new air filters, etc). Overall, I would go back for tires and alignments, but I think I can do better elsewhere for small things like bleeding brakes or an oil change. read more

I was in a rush to find a place that would look at my car and see what was wrong with it. I had visited a few other places that morning and was told they had no time or they couldn't help me. Both headlights had gone out the night before and I wasn't sure if it was due to the headlights blowing out or because of a fuse. I walked in early in the morning with no appointment or call ahead. I explained the situation and the guys told me they could look at my car right away. They also thought it could be one or the other but after taking a quick look they did not notice either and would have to look further. I work right up the road and they were great enough to drop me off at work! I called later that morning to check on my car and they realized it was the bulbs and replaced them for me. It was about $40 worth of work/labor and I know if I had gone to Autozone they install it for free when you buy them but I had gone there and they told me it was probably electrical and didn't bother to look at it. So I had no problem spending the extra money for better customer service. The people there were very nice and helped me out when I was in a rush and didn't give me a hard time or try to cheat me. I'll be back here again in the future. read more

My fiancé and I came across this place during our little mini vacation we took, living in buffalo we decided to make a weekend getaway to Genesee brew house then head to Corning for the night to sight see a couple different things, along our journey we noticed my one tire was losing a lot of air at a pretty quick rate, we called up this place and they were able to accommodate us with an appt within the hour. Knowing we were traveling and really not close to home they did the best the could and got us in and out, as well as worked whatever magic they could and replaced my tire for less than $60.. took not even 15 minutes and than sat and gave us recommendations on food in the area.. I have never witnessed such a humble and honest company before. Knowing we were in an emergency they could have charged us an arm and leg to just get us by. We went in because there was something dragging under our minivan after four wheeling. They fixed the problem very quickly and only charged us $10. Nice, competent and honest. read more

I was leaving to head back home from my vacation and had an 8 hr drive ahead of me with 2 kids in the car and My rear window was stuck open. It was a Sunday so I didn't think I would find anyone. I was prepare to go by plastic and tape to seal the window myself when I found Firestone was open. Heard they were great and they were. Ken was very helpful keeping me informed on what the had found. My window motor was no longer working. Ken disconnected the motor and got the window up as a temporary fix so I could head back home. Waived the flat rate fee for me and only charged me $50. I can't thank them enough. read more
