This place deserves ZERO stars! I brought my car in today, the initial service was nice. However, I was left to wait for 4 hours only to not have work get done at all on my car. The guy at the front never put in my order then told me they didnt have the parts to do the work. I was under the assumption that work was getting done because I gave the mechanic the go ahead. The mechanic told me he never received the part or confirmation. He got "busy" and forgot for 4 hours. I will never go here again. read more

Now, I know a lot of car shops are cons ... and this is one of them. Flat out asking for four. times. the price of a part. Rather than negotiate when you find them out, they dig in their heels and tell you to go somewhere else ... which I will, thank you. My husband took our 17 year old car here for a tuneup about a month ago. My husband got all four tires replaced. He asked Firestone to give him back the two back tires, since they still were in great shape, (we hardly ever drive the car). When we came back to pick up the car the claimed they "threw" away the tires by mistake! Sure, they did! They probably are going to sell them to the tire place next door. Here's my story, short and sweet. These bastards are SHADY and in the business of ripping people off. Yesterday, Firestone quoted me @ $1000+ for an extensive brake job. My car is worth just about that much! Then, they said they could do the job for about $700. I told them I could not afford that much money and that I wanted a second opinion. The manager then told me about financing options, and I said I wasn't interested. She then "reworked the numbers" to offer me a price of about $450. How does one go from $1000 to $450 and expect me to still believe they are credible? I took my car to K&W (Hyattsville) today and now I wish I never wasted my time with Firestone. K&W is a family owned shop and looking to make an honest dollar...not hustle people. I would never recommend this Firestone to anyone. read more

My car, a 2006 Prius, had code P0303 which is a misfiring on cylinder 3. I told them that, and they said they needed to replace the coil, the spark plug, and by the way if a coil goes bad, the rest are sure to follow. So I had 4 coils, and 4 spark plugs replaced. They also did a fuel injection service (without telling me), and a wheel bearing replaced with wheel alignment. The wheel bearing I could see needed to be replaced. Two days later after the "repair", codes P0303, P0301, and P0300 came on with the check engine light. (I have the app FIXD which tells me the codes that come up.) So a misfiring of cylinder 3 (AGAIN), cylinder 1 (NEW) and undetermined cylinder (NEW) came up. I went to the Wheaton Firestone and had them check it out. They mentioned that the replacement of the coils and spark plugs were unnecessary, and that the fuel injection was also not necessary on a hybrid car. I went to a Toyota specialist (code P0303 is persistent and intermittent-at the suggestion of the Wheaton Firestone), and he said that the Riverdale Firestone took a shotgun approach in that they didn't try to fix it with the least amount of repairs, but tried to repair everything at one time--not determining what was the cause but just replace everything it could have been. He also mentioned that the coils are not great quality. I can't afford much, but this $1346 bill really threw me for a loop. I wish I had never gone there! read more

Okay first of all, why are there 3 separate yelp entries for this place? -end rhetorical question- My review is for a walk-in car battery change. After a horrific incident at a Trader Joe's parking lot, I finally got my car started and drove here (close to my house), leaving the car on and running into the check-in lobby. The check-in guy was on the phone dealing with a customer who had a ton of questions. It was very reassuring to hear him explain everything very knowledgeably and patiently, since I was in a panic because I know nothing about cars and don't even know how to open my hood on my own. I should probably take a basic auto care class and learn how to check, perhaps change, my own oil and figure out when the battery needs to be replaced, but it's still on my to-do list for life so for now I have to pay people to help me out. A few minutes later, he's off the phone, very politely asking me questions to make sure that it's actually the battery as I suspect (great to know they don't perform unnecessary work, and that they do the job right the first time!). They promise to replace my battery right away, even though it looks like all the service bays are occupied and they're closing in 20 minutes. They send someone out right away, it gets done in about 8 minutes, and I get my keys back, along with some great advice about battery care. I haven't done any comparison shopping, but the pricing of battery cost (less than $100) and only $15 for service and labor seemed SUPER reasonable. read more

WORST AUTO STORE EVER!!! Horrible experience here, no respect, and they will try to up-sell things that you don't need and to waste your time. They told me my oil change and looking at one tire would take an hour and a half, and I double checked because I had an important appt to get to. After an hour and a half I go to the desk, and they tell me just a few minutes, which turns out to be a lie. Forty minutes later they have the car down and I miss my appt. Thank you Firestone for treating me like I don't matter. Will never ever come back, there are plenty of other guys in town who do a better job and won't be dishonest with me to get my business. read more

Honestly the best firestone location I've been to. The employees never make me feel rushed or dumb for asking questions about my vehicles. They are not pushy about parts or services I beed to buy. They are always kind and respectful and do a great job on my car every time! read more

Gave me quick, excellent repair work, no BS and actually diagnosed and fixed the problem, that the Firestone in Waldorf, swore didn't exist. This is how you get a return customer. read more

Had a very pleasant experience when I came in in June for a summer check. It was a Sunday afternoon but there was only two people ahead of me. The check itself took about an hour and a half to complete and I was glad to find out that there was nothing wrong with my car, other than it needed an alignment (which I already knew). They could have went through a whole list of problems that my car had and tried to convince me to set up appointments for someone there to fix it, which has happened to me at other auto care centers, but they did not. Also the young man who helped me was very kind and helpful and listened to all of my concerns and made sure I left happy. This will be the place I take my car to from now on. read more

I dropped my car off Thursday May 18th and had the worst experience at this location. I took my car to this location because I had a tire that was leaking air. After further inspection it was determined that I needed a new rim because it was damaged. I ended up leaving my car there overnight because I have an extended warranty for my tires and rims and they told me they were waiting on an approval to replace the rim. I was told that I would get a call from the manager the following morning regarding the status of the replacement rim. I waited but didn't receive a call. I had to call that (Friday) afternoon and asked to speak to a manager to follow up. The person that answered the phone came back and told me that they don't do business with the vendor that sells the type of rim I needed and that I needed to come and pick up my car. The manager never came to the phone to speak with me to explain the situation. I restated everything that the clerk told me to make sure I heard him correctly. I also asked if he could call another vendor to get a rim, he said no. I'm really disappointed that the manager didn't take the time to speak to me or check around to find a replacement rim. Especially since I've had a rim replaced at this location in the past. I called corporate and explained the situation and when she called she was told the same thing. I called another Firestone and explained my situation and I was able to get more assistance over the phone then the Riverdale location in 2 days! I received another call from someone after I called corporate. He stated he apologized and stated I would get a call the next day...that didnt happen either. I finally received a call from Noble the store manager Monday morning regarding my issue. By this time, I had already made plans and had my vehicle picked up because I hadn't heard back from anyone that would make a decision on getting the rim ordered. Noble offered no apology or empathy for my situation, just simply asked did I still want them to order the rim? I told him that I already picked up my car because I didn't know if they were going to help me or not. Really disappointed of the lack of customer service or willingness to help me in this situation. You don't want to take your car to this firestone or buy tires from them, I have been going there for more than 10 years, but this year is the last for me. Several years back i took my nissan to them to have my tires replaced and after replacing the tires , my tire sensor light came on. I took it back and i was told that my 2 tires sensors were bad. I found strange that it was after replacing my tires that my sensors went bad. out of 365 days in a year it went bad the moment they changed my tires i suspected that their technicians messed it up. Fast forward to 2018 i took my Prius to them to buy new tires and changing the tires, everything went well until i drove home then the tire sensor came on again. went back the next day and i was told that one sensor went bad. and i would have to pay for it. I insisted that no this was their fault . once beaten twice shy. They agreed to replace that sensor for free. Got the sensor replaced and drove home. Then my nightmare started. every morning the tire sensor would come on and i would have to pump the tires. I took it 4 times to firestone in Springfield for them to check everything and 2 times in this location they could not find what the problem is , it was certainly not the sensor so it had to be the new tires (firestone Ecopia) or my wheel. Saw some cheap tires on walmart and decided to try this tires . and as suspected it was the new tires (Firestone Ecopia) that was sold to me. this is over one month and i don't have any problem. I have returned the Substandard tires that were sold to me which they accepted. Seems they knew that those tires were no good which is the reason why they said they were doing "sales" for those tires If you wondering why i used to go to firestone. it was the lifetime tire alignment but at the end its not worth it read more

For Christmas this year I got my boyfriend his much needed new back tires. My intention was for him to have to not worry about them at all I would take it in and he could drive off with brand new tires. I originally took it to the Firestone in Blacksburg, VA where they took well over the time that they had told me it would take only to come out and tell me that the sensor in one of the tires had broken but they would replace it since it was their fault. So I waited even more for them to fix that. All was fine on the 5 hour trip back to MD. The next day my boyfriend came out to his car to a flat tire. I called the nearest Firestone in Riverdale to see what could be done. I was informed to bring it in no problem they would fix it. So after bringing it for a second time I was told that the tire was not put on correctly and that they fixed it. The very next day the tire was flat again and I brought it in again and supposedly this time it was "fixed". They mumbled something about the sensor again and sent me on my way. The tire was OK for awhile until about a month or so later when my boyfriend noticed it usually low. For the past 3 months he has had to put air in the tire almost every week. He just took it into another auto shop and they told him the sensor was never fixed properly and he had to shell out $170 to get it fixed. Since I originally took the car to Firestone in late January I knew trying to deal with them now about this would be near impossible. I strongly do not recommend taking your car here! read more

There was a leak from my mini-van went to Firestorm Riverdale morning of Saturday September 10, 2016 to get it checked out. Was told by Noble/store manager in order to detect the cause of the leak there had to be an oil leak detection w/dye of which on that day they did not have time do. So Noble scheduled an appointment for Wednesday 9/14 @ 9:30am to have this done. Was given a print-out with the appointment date/service that would be done on that day. On Wednesday arrived 9:15am told the man at the desk the reason of me being there and also showed the print out. I was told that Noble had called earlier that morning told them not to accept any detention dye work for that day because they were behind. How can they be behind when they had only been opened a few hours? What?? I had an appointment for that very service. Did they not look into the computer to see who actually had appointments? What about a courtesy call to let me know instead of wasting my morning coming there also my son took time off his job to come and take me home so that I would not have to sit in the waiting area 5-6+ hours. So not only was my time wasted but also his. And to make matters worse was asked what day the following week could I come in. What I had to wait a whole week to find out what was leaking in my vehicle?? No, I did not make an appointment took the vehicle elsewhere. Result: Oil drain plug loose. Looking back at my service records July 23, 2016 had oil change Firestone/Riverdale. The vehicle had been leaking oil because the drain plug had not been tightened eventually this would have caused serious engine issue. I totally agree with all complaints against this facility. On another visit purchased 1 tire it took 5 hours to have it installed. I was in the waiting area for that length of time. I went to this Riverdale MD store in order to avoid the Annapolis store that ripped me off. Unfortunately, this store was no different. I went in for a routine oil change and they came with a long list of recommendations which included my brakes and my air filter. I found it a laughable rip off attempt because I changed my filters (cabin and engine) less than 24 hours before going to the store. I asked and the tech affirmed that the two recommendations I needed most were the filter and brakes (which was why I did not forget them). I asked them to replace the brakes since I have lifetime warranty and the rep said my warranty did not cover that. I then politely asked to speak to their manager and expressed my disappointment to which he gave an excuse that they did it based on mileage and not based on inspection. If it is based on mileage, why how am I meant to trust that other recommendations aren't false. I then asked about the brakes and he told me to go back to the store I got it from (which is over an hour away). Please save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. read more

I came here after work around 5:30ish pm and had earlier made an appointment the same day. Parking and location were easy to find, as soon as I entered the shop I was greeted even though the front desk person was busy with someone they still acknowledged me. They checked my car for any safety issues and informed me of any issues my car has. For the first time at a mechanics I did not feel pressured to buy anything. They simply told me hey just an FYI you will be needing a battery soon. They were happy to get me a battery at a reasonable price and it saved me a headache of dealing with it later on. The alignment and new tires I received were AMAZING. Felt like I was driving a brand new car. Everyone was friendly, their free wi-fi and tv and open seating area was nice to enjoy during the wait, plus there are alot of places within walking distance in case a person gets hungry. The entire staff was very friendly and even cracked a couple of jokes with me. Felt very mom and pop shop. read more
