They WILL try to scam you here. I went in for a battery issue, they took it upon themselves to do a vehicle inspection I didn't ask for. They sent me this invoice, apparently my vehicle failed the inspection i did not ask for and is not safe to drive on the road because my windshield wipers are "broken". So, apparently, in order to pass their inspection it would cost $25 each windshield wiper to replace, plus $3 for labor. I know that my wiper blades are actually fine in reality, there is not a single thing wrong with them. So it would seem like they are setting up a scam. If i was go to firestone my yearly vehicle inspection they are going to expect me to pay this invoice to pass the inspection, because it is in their system now. Lol. DONT GO TO THIS FIRESTONE - I went online to purchase 2 tires. It was very easy to pay for and schedule an appointment. I called Firestone to confirm the appointment to which they tell me was cancelled by the "manager". They stated that the price online is not correct and the time online was not available. Online I got charged $25.98 for computerized wheel balance. Tire/wheel alignment check is also listed on the receipt as "free". The rep I spoke to told me that is not correct, it's an additional $100 to align the wheels. So why does it say something else online? Seems to me like they're running scams. I went to this shop maybe one moth ago because my car was shaking when i was acelerating, i went one Saturday in the morning around 8:00 AM, I explained the Issue to the manager and she told me they were going to inspect my car and then another guy came and talked with me and he told me the problem where the front routers in the tires, which doesn't make any sense because i was not having problem with braking but I decided to do it because i wanted car get fix, when i left the shop my car was STILL doing the same, i came back to the shop and they told me was because i didn't change the tires!!! I asked them if changing the tires my car was going to be good and they told yes, i am an stupid i know but i changed the tires because i was too worried about the problem, guys i am not lying when i say that when left the shop my car was still doing the same !!!! they charged me around 1,300 and they didn't fixed my car; i went to another shop and what my car needed was a TUNE-UP. Seriously guys, don't go to that shop, these people don't know what they are doing; now I have to pay all that and they didn't do NOTHING. I called and made an appointment here for service of my car. I went for an oil change, alignment and to correct some dash lights. They did the first two and forgot to correct my dash lights. There was noise in the store because the tv was loud so it was hard to communicate with the representative and I specifically called in told about the dash lights again. But the forgot so I would give them a 3/5. On the bright side they just charged me for oil change and told me my car is in good condition. read more

I never imagined I would ever need to leave a bad review for Firestone, but please- beware. I have always used Firestone and recently was so surprised by this very high quote. I attached a photo here. When I called to ask why the parts cost so much he tried to convince me it was regular market price. I thought the amount for the engine coils was a mistake, seeing how I could buy an entire 4-pack for around $300-400 at autozone, and it seemed like $293/per coil was very high. I ended up buying them and doing it myself. I recommend anyone do the same because turns out it is an easy task even for someone inexperienced and saved us a lot of money. This recent experience sucks because we've always loved Firestone in Dartmouth Massachusetts but I see a big change in honesty and customer care after moving here to Maryland. I came in to have my alternator checked, expecting a replacement-which ended up being the case. I also needed to get the alternator replaced, which nearly doubled the amount I was planning to pay. But Chris at the front desk was very helpful in getting me the best price possible, and the guys in the shop were able to get me out almost an hour sooner than we anticipated. I got there and she was very rude. Turns out they over-torqued the drain plug during the last oil change and the drain pan may be damaged after today's mechanic loosens it. Geez, it's basic mechanic knowledge that you only tighten the plug one quarter turn after closing, and you never over tighten (yes, I used to do my own oil changes back in the day). I am pretty disappointed about this and I hope the manager corrects workers who may damage customer vehicles by over-tightening drain plugs. read more

This location is horrible, my husband and I are visiting from Las Vegas, came here to service our Tahoe before we head back on the highway. My husband made a 12:00pm appointment he walks in to be told it's still a hour to two hour wait just for a oil change, and they can't say people were ahead of us because nobody was working on any cars the whole time we sat there. So what's the point of making an appointment. I brought my car here because my regular mechanic was booked and I need my car for a trip. Brought it in on Monday morning for an oil change and the front breaks done (which is what I originally scheduled the appointment for), and asked them to do an all around check because my car was driving a bit funny/making some noises. Didn't hear anything from them Monday or Tuesday, called them Wednesday. Got the classic "Oh we were just about to call you." Not only had they not done any work on my car, not even the oil change, they told me I had FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS worth of work. I asked if they could at least get the breaks done that day on Wednesday, and they said they couldn't. I ended up taking my car back from them because I don't trust them at all and rented a car for the trip. Today, I dropped off my car at my regular place (K and W auto in Hyattsville, seriously don't go anywhere else). Within an hour and a half they confirmed that my breaks needed to get done, some repairs on my axle and my ball joints, and would do an oil change for me. Nothing else needed to be done. Quoted at $1,000. They were communicative and specific, and said they wouldn't charge labor on the left ball joint because they were doing work on that axle anyways. Don't go to Firestone. Firestone was the only location, that had my tire size at the shop and scheduled an appointment the next day, got me in and out and charged me $40 less than the initial quote. Ok experience. I called and made an appointment for 11am to get an oil change and alignment. My car was taken back by a tech at 11:35am and brought to the front of the store around 12:10pm. It sat there for 10 minutes while the front desk got organized and finally called me. I thought about telling them it was ready but wanted to see how long the wait might be. Overall, a lot of wasted customer time considering an appointment was made. The facility is large with plenty of parking and a waiting area of 9 chairs with tv. There are nearby stores and restaurants within walking distance if you don't want to wait in the store. read more

I've come to this Firestone twice. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. The main issue I can pin-point here is that their staff has poor communication. On top of that, I have an inclination to believe they over-charge. After my first visit when the car wouldn't start, the battery wasn't a problem, the starter was. I arrive, and the battery is dead after all. Great, after they had applied a solution to decrease corrosion. I head to another shop to fix another issue, and find out Firestone hadn't reattached everything under my hood together so gas was coming inside my car. Shotty service. I hadn't planned on going back, but last Friday, I smelled gas outside my car, and brought it in about four hours before they closed, thinking they could fix the issue. After hours of looking at the car, they inform me it's not safe to drive and they need special parts. Tell me it'll be a few days. A week later, after calling several times, and the car's done that Friday mid-day. They've charged me twice for the same thing, had to get that removed, plus the technician/cashier didn't even know what some of the items meant. So in short, they don't offer me anything for a week's worth without my vehicle, despite giving me a due date they couldn't meet ("they parts didn't come in yet"), and I had to identify an error on their fault, for which they charged my card. I do not recommend this location. A good mechanic would, I presume, seek to be as direct as possible while courteous and gracious to have me as a customer. Tell me the worse-case scenario on parts being shipped in, not the best; tell me after you've made that mistake plus a billing mistake that you'll give me something for the inconvenience; and lastly, after this being the second time I've had to call you out, at least tell me you care, even if you don't mean it. read more

Once i received these services, i was told that i also needed my brake fluid flushed and an alignment. Neither of which was true. As a female, I don't care much for auto repair places but Firestones in general have been very good to me. This place was exceptional. Noble is the name of the manager and he was very helpful in getting my mother-in-law situated with her vehicle. He was patient on the phone, honest in his assessment of the vehicle in regards to what needed to be done as well as what was NOT needed. There are some lifetime services this vehicle has and he was honest about which of those services were showing in their system despite not being able to find the paperwork. I went in for one issue paid almost $700 for the repair and in less than 72 hours later my check engine light came on again in my vehicle after the "issue was resolved". I took it back and they said there was another issue that they did not see the first time that would cost an additional $640. If you're a woman and you come in for repairs be sure to never go there and take your car to a repair shop that isn't in the business of getting over on its customers. How is it that you have trained technicians who can't perform a COMPLETE diagnostic to inform the customer of what issues are occurring with their vehicle? Also, you have to follow up with them regarding your vehicle, because they'll say they will call you back to give you status updates, cost, etc. and THEY NEVER DO!! They were very busy but the young man at the desk said pull the car up and they will look at it. I did and they could not have been nicer or more efficient. I've usually had good luck at Firestone, but my first visit to this location yesterday was a disaster! I tried to make an appointment online, but the "Confirm" button wasn't working, so I called the store and they told me it was fine, to bring it in at the time I'd specified online. When I arrived, I was told the technician who could handle my "Check Engine" light wouldn't be available until the next week - a wait of at least 5 days! When I complained and told them I'd called to confirm the appointment, they offered to check the computer to find out the code that was triggering the light and let me know whether it was safe to drive. They did this (it took about an hour), and told me it was safe, so I went out to get my car. When I returned to my car, the dash was lit up like a Christmas tree - five new lights were on since I'd driven it in, and they hadn't told me that this had happened or whether there were any issues with the car based on these lights (these included lights that were in no way related to the engine, like the parking brake light). I packed up my daughter and went back inside to ask them what happened. They got defensive, but eventually agreed to check the lights again. After another forty-five minutes, they came back and told me the lights were only coming on because of a glitch in the computer system, insisting this was related to whatever was triggering the "Check Engine" light. They again confirmed that the car was safe to drive. When I got back in, I discovered that the "Check Engine" light had gone off, yet the other lights have stayed on, so none of the explanation makes sense! It is absolutely unacceptable and disrespectful to lie to a customer about having an appointment. It is also completely unprofessional, when you are unable to provide the service you said you would, to make the situation worse by setting off new lights and not even mentioning it or evaluating their cause. To make it worse, they kept advising me to call in a few days to set up an appointment with the appropriate technician. If this is how you treat me before you've actually performed any work on my car, why would I return to be jerked around and pay you for it?!?!?! We won't be back. read more

I dropped the car off Monday night to have four new tires installed on Tuesday. I scheduled pick-up for after 5PM on Tuesday. At 3:30PM on Tuesday, the store manager called me to ask if I was going to drop my car off for service because they're ordered in the 4 new tires for installation. Imagine my surprise when I had to explain to him that he already had the car, and I was expecting pick-up at 5. We arrived at 5, only to be told it wasn't ready. Again, imagine my surprise. We were out the door at nearly 6PM. The next morning, my brand-new front driver side tire was completely flat. I keep a compressor in the car, so I inflated the tire and drove to work. I called the shop and let them know I'd be bringing the car in after 5 today (Wednesday, 6/6/18). They assured me they'd be ready. When I left work, I had to inflate the front driver side tire again, from full flat. We arrived at the store with audible leaks from the tire, and I was informed they only had one tech working. They repaired the tire valve that'd been installed poorly and thus leaked, and we were out the door after only an hour and ten minute wait. In short, I dropped my car off early. They forgot they had it, then did a rush - and sloppy - job on the tire install. As a result, I had to inflate, from flat, twice in order to get the car back to them for another repair job. Dropped my car off to replace my tires with 4 new ones, as well as an alignment. After it was fixed, the TPMS lights came on about 15 minutes after driving. Went to a gas station with an air pump and noticed the front left tire was underinflated at 24 psi, and back right tire was OVERINFLATED at 45 psi! Not only that, my lugs were coming loose on the front right.. one lug I could take off with just my finger. Had to retighten some other lugs as well. Seriously guys?
