I have to say as far as having auto repairs done or auto care done it can sometimes feel a little daunting. Scheduling online was super easy. I made the first appointment of the day. Had my oil changed a new battery installed. They did some other diagnostic services that I declined at the time, but I will go back for and I don't feel like they tried to take advantage of me. I actually used to work in the automotive adjacent industry so I do know a little bit about cars so when people always say you need this, I know what to question so I feel like I'm at an advantage. Make an appointment for an oil change, they don't have the filter, don't call back when they say they will, and still want me to come and wait to gamble they will get the filter and then "squeeze me in" because they can't honor the appointment time--and want to argue on the phone about it. Upon arrival, there was only one employee at the front desk and he was on the phone. There was one other person waiting in the lobby. I had an appointment to have my car have an alignment done and I waited 30 minutes before the front desk guy got off the phone to help me and the other person in the lobby. For a quick check-in, the employee should've put the phone on hold briefly and proceeded with the two guests in the lobby that had appointments. Bad customer service. read more

Don't bother. After the service person from AAA told me that the settings on my car wouldn't reset by itself, I took my car in for a battery replacement. I asked the manager several times if the systems would reset automatically. He assured me that it would. Fast forward six weeks later. I took my car for a smog check and the car didn't pass. The reason, the emissions monitor wasn't reset. I learned that in order for the emissions to reset, I had to drive the car 200 miles. This is a big deal as I only drive 3000 miles a year. If only the manager had paid attention and told me the truth that the service person didn't use a memory saver. I'm out the cost of the smog check and the gas to drive 200 miles. Don't believe them. I had my rear brakes replaced. They did a free inspection, were easy to talk to and had great service.

I was on vacation and we ended up pulling into San Diego with a flat tire. It wasn't because of a puncture it was because of a cracked rim with slow leak. Anthony Fuentes and his team took care of us by getting a spare tire on in about 20 minutes. They ended up providing us with tire mounting service on a back up rim for a great price. These guys serviced us 2 times in 1 day with total time about 2 hours. Amazing service and friendly. Saved our vacation, we owe it to him and his team! read more

The manager checked me in for a rotation. He was very kind, courteous and welcoming. On my way out, I asked one of the technicians if they checked the tire pressure on my 4 tires, the technician stated they checked and aired it. I then asked if he could check the tire pressure of my spare (donut). He said not a problem and asked me to pull up to a bay where I met with another technician who helped me air the spare We pull the spare out of the trunk and I ask the tech "what's the recommended tire pressure for this spare?" He points to the two large yellow stickers on the wheel and says "between 50-80 psi". I sit there confused for a moment because The first yellow sticker (in large font) indicates MAX 50 MPH and the other indicates MAX 80 KMH (see attached photo). I thought perhaps he misread it so I pointed to the the sticker and I said "this states the maximum speed is 80 kilometers per hour and the other sticker says..." he interrupts and says "oh you can not drive faster than 50 Miles per hour." I ask again "so what's the recommended psi?" he again points to the two yellow stickers and says "between 50-80 psi." I then showed him where the tire sidewall states 60 psi. For the third time he points to the two yellow stickers and says 50-80. I then ask, "what does the maximum speed have to do with tire pressure value?" He appeared confused. I said the yellow stickers are not telling us a psi value. It's Miles per hour and kilometers per hour. I finally gave up and told him to fill it to 60 psi. He filled it to 61. I left the store quite concerned that either he doesn't understand psi, mph, or kmh. I then drive home and check the tire pressure on my screen. It appears they set my rear tires (typically inflated higher than fronts) on my left and my fronts on the right. (See photo). Updated review: THEY CUT A HOLE IN MY ENGINE COVER instead of removing it! They destroyed my oil pan, put an after market plug in it, it's leaking! The check engine light is from the coolant system that this store also worked on, and evidently messed up!!!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS FIRESTONE UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO NEGLIGENTLY AND/OR MALICIOUSLY DESTROY IT! This Firestone has gone down in the last few months. I made an appointment for alignment at 3pm. Salvador the service advisor did not put my request until 506pm. There was a customer who came in 15 min after me for a brake job which was a walk in, that customer left 10 min before me. Salvador had the nerve to tell me my battery needed replacement which was notes I had from my previous visit for realignment. My engine hood was never opened, if he would have checked; I replaced my battery 4 months ago in September. Salvador was horrible and arrogant service advisor. Does not need to speak with customers if he does not know what he is talking about. I will take my business elsewhere. I will not be recommending this Firestone on Midway Dr. The work that was done with alignment tech Omar was excellent. It took only 35 min to do 4 wheel alignment. My SUV now is perfectly aligned. Should not have to wait 2 3/4 hrs if I made an appointment. read more

I walked in for my 9am but was told I didn't have one but that they could eventually get to me today. I'd tried earlier to book a later time, but an alert popped up in the app notifying me that I had a 9am already so I couldn't book again. I told them I would see if there were any other locations available today and scheduled an appointment for 1pm with them. When I confirmed my 1pm with National City and looked at my appointments, I noticed that I did in fact have a 9am scheduled for the Point Loma location. It's way out of my way to go to National city, but I have always been satisfied with the work they've done there. Before even going over my options he was already asking me to go ahead and place the order. ***I instead took it to Discount Tire the next morning and told them what was said at Firestone and the guy immediately took a look and said he couldn't see the nail. They refused to honor their warranty on labor. 2 years ago I brought in 4 brand new aluminum rims and 4 new Pirelli tires to have them mounted and balanced. The wheels were stored in my garage pending the completion of a car restoration and when I moved them to install them on the car two of the large double sided tape lead weights fell off and were simply laying on the garage floor. Apparently, the installer did not clean the surface of the brand new wheels and the tape failed to hold the weights. The wheels were never installed on the car. The sales manager told me that because the tires were not purchased at Firestone they would not honor any warranty for the installation or balancing. Despite my instance that the tires had nothing to do with the quality of Firestone's balancing weight installation he refused to accept responsibility and correct the failure. At the time of installation they also charged me for tire scrap although I did not have any old tires. If a company is not willing to fix their relatively small failures, I would not expect them to behave any better with a larger problem. I will never again consider patronizing a Firestone store. read more

When I called I was greeted by Arturo. When I showed up I was greeted by a Hispanic guy with Muslim beard. I came here for a courtesy check which was $10, not bad. After waiting about 20 minutes, the Muslim beard guy led me to the car, which was not on lift. He showed me that the struts were bad and he was afraid to put it on lift. He says it might pop out. I never met the Arturo guy. Before I left I asked for his name which I forgot. I look on the work order paper, it says Arturo. I was quoted over a thousand to replace two front struts. I was hesitant to stop by here because of the negative reviews, especially the racists experiences many people had here. I was desperate because I had a big nail in my tire and they were one of the only places open on a Sunday. I was greeted immediately upon arrival and they took a look at my tire. I was told it wasn't repairable because the nail was too close to the side wall. I would've needed a replacement. I told the guy that my tire was fairly new, and he suggested I check to see if it's under warranty to save me money. He offered to fill my tire up with air to last until the next day. Take your car elsewhere! I have poured thousands into my car at this location and have left the shop every time with an issue I had to come back for. For some reason, what should have been an easy brake job liked to me having to return several times for squeaking & squealing. First it was they put the cheaper product on my car when I paid for the best, then it was the rotors & brakes weren't meeting right, and finally I need other work done to fix the problem. When I did complete the other work, I again had horrible noises coming from my vehicle. When I returned again, a part had been "knocked" out of place and was causing loud metal scraping. It's fixed, for now but I'm doubtful it will remain this way. I will from now on go to another location or another shop all together. Such a bummer! read more

Really disappointed with this Firestone. I've been a loyal Firestone customer for years, buying a couple sets of tires. When I came home from a month long trip, I was surprised to find a screw in my tire. I just got 2 new tires about 2 months ago from this location so I called (as my tires are under warranty) on Friday 1/13 to try and get an appointment to get it removed, and/or patched/evaluated. The earliest I could get an appointment was for 3 days later, today Monday 1/16. Seemed a little odd that I could not get anything sooner but it is what it is and I made the appointment. This morning, my boyfriend went to take my car down, and noticed that at this point the tire was basically flat, since it has been sitting for a couple days. He took my car down as I have work today, and they told him they couldn't find the appointment and asked if they were sure I called their specific Firestone. I had to literally send a screenshot of my call log to prove that I did indeed, call Firestone in Point Loma. Then after 10 minutes, they were finally able to find it after looking up my phone number, rather than my name. It's concerning that my name was searched for that long before resorting to other options, but again, it is what it is. My boyfriend was then told that it would be "a couple hours" before they could look at my car because they had some walk ins. This is extremely frustrating because while I made an appointment, for 3 days out, instead of walking in because I'm a decent human being with consideration for others, people were being serviced but my APPOINTMENT is not being accommodated because Firestone is just taking walk ins. That's awesome. So here's my question, if you have people book appointments, and (as the stated) already had a ton of appointments for 9am, why in the world would you just take walk ins? Do doctors offices take appointments for people to just walk in, and then make you wait a couple hours before you can see your doctor, for the appointment you took the liberty of scheduling? I walked into the office, explained the situation, and was asked to pull my car up to one of the bays. They filled up the tires and sent me on my way. Took ~15 minutes and they did it without charge. I bought the unlimited alignment option. Big mistake, I haven't been able to get a so called appointment that will cater to my schedule. After complaining to the Convoy location about how I was treated by the manager at the Midway location I was able to take my vehicle to the Convoy location. I told the person at the Convoy location I need a tire rotation and wheel alignment. I waited several hours. At check out, I find out the tire rotation was not done. The employee stated, maybe next time. Today I call Midway location and I ask for an appointment for an alignment. Immediately he asked me for my phone number. I said what does that matter I just need an appointment for an alignment. It seams they are only taking new business over what's already been paid for. The nearest appointment he could get me in was in the middle of the following week. Not conducive for my schedule. I don't recommend this place! read more

I'm very happy with the service I had on my car here. Gabriel, my service advisor, made me aware of a promotion. If I opened an account, I would get to draw a prize. I did that and ended up with a complimentary alignment, one of the services I had gone in to have done I was also happy that I wasn't told I needed new brakes when I didn't. The last time I took my car in for service at the dealer, I was told I'd need new brakes next time I had service (which would be now). I let Gabriel know this when I dropped off my car. Fantastic customer service. Check engine light came on and needed to figure out what was happening. Pulled in and within moments they had the car in bay. Not only where they looking at the issue but doing a complete inspection on the vehicle. Isacc, the service manager, was very upfront that their diagnostic tech was not available to really look at the issue, but that they could quickly see what the wrong and to make sure the car was still safe to drive. Every member of the team was very helpful and, as is important in our new world, very Covid sensitive wearing gloves, masks, and wiping all surfaces they touched. Within a few moments they isolated the issue and had me back on the road. Amazing customer service. Can't thank them enough for the emergency assist. Absolutely recommend. read more

I scheduled an appointment for 7 AM for an oil change at a tire rotation three days before. I asked the person on the phone if it would be ready by 9:30 as I work from home at 10. She said yes. My plan was to take my road bike and just go ride until they called me to say my car was ready and then go pick it up and drive home. I drop it off and the guy says he'll have it ready in a few hours. I ask if it'll be ready by 9:30 and he says he'll try but he can't guarantee it. To me that sounds like a no and he makes a bunch of excuses. I reiterated I needed it by 9:30 and that I was told it would be ready by then. He didn't care. I don't understand why it would take more than 2.5 hours just to do an oil change and tire rotation. I've had other experiences here when they took a ridiculous amount of time to just do the same thing. I only even came here because I got the lifetime rotations thing included with my tire purchase when I got these tires at the Pacific Beach location when that was around. Well, I'm not coming here anymore. It's not worth the hassle just to save a few dollars on a tire rotation. Do not expect good customer service here. Appointments mean nothing. read more

We were in soCal (400 miles from home) when our car starter died. After car was towed to Firestone, Arturo was terrific at helping us and we were back on the road the same afternoon. Two thumbs up for having multiple technicians available on site and being open on weekends. And their work is backed by warranty (labor 1 yr; parts 2yrs for our starter). Have had my truck here multiple times for simple things such as an alignment. They always say 45 min to an hour... then boom I'm there for 3 hours. This time for 4 hours. Watching other people go through the same thing too. This one lady couldn't even have the work done because she wasn't willing to stay another additional 2 hours (she had been there for 3-4 hrs already also). I made a mistake by paying for free alignments... so now I've brought my truck here multiple time because of that deal. I'll have to remind myself that although I have that free alignment it is not worth it. You're better off going somewhere else. Their turn around on simple things is just horrible. read more

Arrived at the appointed time and was told I'd need to wait as these tires are not in stock at that location. THAN WHY CONFIRM MY APPOINTMENT REQUEST?? Seems like they'll confirm anything figuring once they had me there they had my business. WRONG! Have used Firestone several times before but never again. Got my tires the same day with a different company. Firestone didn't get one cent of my money, and never will again. read more
