Over the years I've had some really good and really bad experiences at oil change places. I recently purchased a new vehicle that requires top grade synthetic oil and since I drive past this place all the time taking my kids to school, I thought I would try it out. The first thing I did was call to see if they offered the synthetic oil and how much they would charge. Their staff was extremely professional and courteous, even made me laugh on the phone. I won't pretend to understand all the lingo of the oil change world but I do understand customer service and from the moment I drove in until the second I left, both guys were extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly which I loved. Multiple times they explained exactly what they were doing and unlike a lot of places I have been, when they presented additional items to take care of, they simply let me know about it and there was no pressure to do it. I happen to mention fishing and all three of us quickly forget about oil and had a blast talking about different fishing spots in San Diego. One of the guys even gave me some bait to use with my boys the next time we go fishing. Really easy oil change! It's a drive through, so you just sit in your car while they work. They are very friendly and take the explain things thoroughly. They also offer a $20 off coupon on line, so in & out (literally!) and under $40 for an oil change! The first time going in today, I had Ty and a few other guys help me out! Incredible service, incredible staff, will definitely return for future maintenance! I came in for an oil change. I brought my own oil and filter but they also have oil and filters on hand for those who don't bring their own oil. I was expecting a simple oil change and got the entire meal deal! They checked all fluids, filters, lights, tire pressure, etc. etc. Staff were very nice, informative, helpful, and most importantly they were honest. Bill was about $50 since I brought my own oil and filter. This works like a drive through, they will have you in and out in about 15-20 minutes. It's difficult to go into an auto shop of any kind as a young woman and leave without feeling disrespected, but each of the Oil Changers locations has had people working who are nothing short of professional and helpful. I had an issue with my oil light display (German electronic "dip stick") and leaking oil. I went in after work and of course all of the lights disappeared when I tried to show them. But I had other services done besides my oil change had my air filter replaced, 1 windshield wiper and flushed out other oils In my car. I've taken my Honda Civic to the Oil Changers in University Heights and Lemon Grove, and today I went to the Midway District location. I've had the same GREAT experience at all three locations - fast, professional, and phenomenally honest service every time I go get my oil changed. Here's the things that I appreciate about Oil Changers: 1) Fast - from the moment you pull up, the technicians have your and your vehicle's service history, and know what services you've previously had done on your car with them. So they ask you if you'd just like to repeat the same previous service (regular vs synthetic oil) and IMMEDIATELY get to work. 2) Professional - from the moment your car pulls up to the service bay and they ask you to pop your hood, there is a secondary technician getting to work underneath your car. The technicians communicate clearly with each other to ensure that they are on the same page while working with your car to get you in and out efficiently. During the process, they show you where your oil level is at to ensure you know that the oil is where it should be. After the oil change is done, they clear your check engine light, and check both your lights and turn signals to ensure you're safe on the road. 3) Honest - the technicians don't push you into purchasing services. The technicians will let you know of the last time services were performed to your car, and will advise you if your car needs a certain service to be done at some point in the future. BUT, they don't push you to get the service. So it's not like when you visit some scummy shop that tries to sell you "blinker light fluid" cause your car needs it, and won't let you leave unless you purchase their product. What actually happened was we went in to get an oil change and we sat in the car for about 10 minutes and while we were watching the crew change the oil, he actually gave us some really helpful tips (not gonna lie, our car is in iffy shape) given the state our car is in. He also told us where to go to replace our air filter for pretty cheap. I won't lie, it is kind of expensive for an oil change, but with their efficiency and their speed, I would say it was worth it. Never coming here again! Pressured to buy extra stuff when I'm just going in for a simple oil change. When I didn't buy anything extra your tech was saying crap like "guess I have to work on my sellers skills" and "you a hard sell, I'll give you 20% off if you buy the high mileage oil" since I didn't give into getting any extra services. Talk about some pressure to buy. I felt bad for the kid so I got the high mileage. Your tech also half ass cleaned my front window. Literally just the drivers side. Didn't even bother to clean the entire window. Coolant level wasn't full as checked off. It was empty completely. My tires are rated for 35psi. They over inflated by 15 psi. Fifteen psi over!! I just pulled up to get a fill up of gas and noticed my tires super stiff. Don't worry! I got you! I filled up my coolant level. Washed my entire front window and adjusted my tire pressure. That minus the $40 oil change and looks like you owe my $20. This is why you should always check other peoples work. I was the 2001 Nissan Quest in lot 2. I was there at 11:45am. Check out your cameras. Yeah, it's a shitty white van BUT I'm paying for service. Hood/lube technician 12931 Retrain this guy. I should have waited the day and done it myself. read more
