These guys got me in as a walk-in after the other store location called to verify they could do an alignment for me, as my vehicle was too big for the service there. The cost was about what I expected, and I was informed that I could stop by any of their locations to get the vehicle checked in the future. The staff was really great and friendly. Right after I arrived, they had to deal with an incredibly difficult and demanding customer, which caused a delay for myself and the other customer that was ahead of me. They reminded calm and treated her respectfully although it was clear she was stressing them out. I had a pleasant time conversing with Del while I was there on a variety of topics while I waited, so even though it was a longer than expected visit, it didn't feel that way and was enjoyable. Avoid this place like the plague. It does not even deserve 1 star. I took my truck in for tires, an oil change, and a wheel alignment. After changing oil and tires they informed me they could not do the wheel alignment until they did the over $3000 worth of other work they claimed I needed including ball joints and new shocks (on a truck that had been driving perfectly normally). I am from out of town and was visiting a local friend, so I took it to her longtime trusted local mechanic. When I dropped it off I told the woman "Firestone says I need over 3K worth of work, largely suspension." She replied, "Of course they did." Bottom line, it did NOT need ball joints, nothing wrong there, and the shocks have at least 20K miles left on them. It did need brakes and a steering shock. Total repair costs, just under $1000. I will NEVER set foot in a Firestone again. I guess I should not be shocked, but I kinda am. I am a credit card holder and long time customer. But they saw a single woman, and went for it. I seriously caution anyone going to Firestone in Santa Fe. They will try and rip you off. First occurrence was when a family member took their car there for battery problem. They charged $180 just for diagnosing then stated it was going to be a $3800.00 repair. This family member went on YouTube to see if it was actually true. It turned out to a $12.00 switch and easy to replace. The second incident most recently; we ordered tires online and paid for mounting, balancing and installation. Online for everything was $130.00 (tires were bought separately and shipped to the store). Firestone confirmed our appointment at 8am and said vehicle would be ready in a few hours. They called us 4hrs later to say that lug nuts were stripped along with the screws the go into so they weren't able to get the tires off. When we asked how we fixed it, they stated the parts per tire would cost $380.00 each with about $1400.00 out the door. They supposedly had the parts there and were ready to the work. We opted out, picked up the tires and vehicle. Took everything to another tire shop and they did the job in under 45min. I asked if the nuts and bolts were stripped and they said no there was nothing wrong with them; and only charged $100.00 for the work. Imagine if I was a single mom with two small kids and this was my only vehicle and I am trusting what Firestone said? I'd be either without a vehicle for the holidays and or in debt because I paid for a service that absolutely was not needed. Please use extreme caution if you plan to have your vehicle serviced here. I'm convinced that if they're not getting a certain $$ amount per transaction they will say anything to get you to spend more money. I called corporate hotline to complain and was told a regional manager would call me in 2-3 business days. It's been 8 business days and no one has called. Firestone has done shady unethical business practices and is not deserving of our hard earned money. If you need a reliable tire place with professionalism and integrity in Santa Fe NM, go to Garcia Tires instead. We were not disappointed and neither will you. #boycottfirestone read more

If I could give zero I would. I ordered 4 new tires from eBay and Simple Tire. they were shipped directly to Firestone for installation, when we dropped the truck off to have them installed @ 8:15 in the morning, they called us at noon and informed us that they could not replace them as the tire studs and lug nuts were stripped and no good and to replace them would cost $360 per tire total price would be $1440 plus tax. we refused and took it to another shop and paid $118 for installation. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the studs and lug nuts! this is my second bad review of Firestone. I will never do business with them again... read more

They said they didn't have any available appointments but to bring the car in anyway and they would figure it out. That's exactly what they did! I'm not one to write reviews, but this behavior was too egregious to ignore. I went in on a Tuesday for a scheduled alignment. Place was dead which was unusual to see. Alignment took over 2 hours even though I was the only one there. NOW HERE'S THE REAL REASON FOR THE POOR REVIEW: during their "routine inspection" of the vehicle, they informed me (among a laundry list of other things) that my battery was not performing well and needed to be replaced. The tech asked me if I have had any trouble starting the car, I said no, the battery is 2 1/2 years old and it has a 5 year warranty and it works like a champ. So no, do not replace my $200 battery. When they finished the work, the tech brought my truck up front and left it running because he "wanted to make sure the battery will charge well." I soon learned the real reason for his actions. Fast forward the to next morning...and my truck has trouble starting, hmmm interesting. I call my girlfriend to come home from work and give me jump. No issues the rest of the day. Next morning? Same thing happened. And you can probably guess, the next morning as well. I go to check the battery thinking maybe a connection was loose, no issues there, but then discover that the battery caps were not on all the way and realize that the shyster tech actually DRAINED WATER FROM MY BATTERY!!!! I kid you not. I filled it back to the proper level and no issues since. I know from personal experience (employee on the phone in the office not aware that I'm listening in the waiting room stating that another car checked out fine, but that he was going to sell a brake job because the "dumb chick doesn't know any better") that this Firestone will upsell and sell you things that don't need replacement, but wouldn't think in a million years they would actually tamper with your vehicle. I am beyond disgusted with this behavior. Disappointed that I have lifetime alignments with Firestone, not sure if I'll ever come back to this store again for any type of service. How can you trust someone after this. Something needs to be done at this store ASAP! read more

They put yet a third alternator and pulley on bc they are not equipped to put good parts on. So....now it will not start. I came in for an oil change and inspection for rotors. Then less than 24 hours, my engine started making an awful sound. Take it back to Firestone and they tell me I have to replace my fan assembly which is almost $800.00. I have never had an issues and now all of a sudden my car sounds like crap. And the same mechanic made a big note on my bill that my boots were cracked & must be repaired = approx. $1200. Noticed this morning that my front passenger tire was very worn on the outside and went to get an alignment before it got worse. The mechanic put my car up and said I didn't need an alignment but did need to replace the tire ASAP as it was worn smooth on the inside. He said it wasn't due to a needing an alignment but possibly that it was low on air and I drove low for awhile that caused the odd wear. He suggested I go to see Firestone to see if my tire was warrantied as it was less than a year old. Drove straight to Firestone. Young gentleman at the counter stated I do have some sort of warranty. His supervisor quietly told him to go look at the tire to make sure it was covered wear and tear. We went outside and the young guy took photos of my tires. They had me sit down while they quietly discussed it at the counter and looked at the pics. Young guy comes back and states that they determined my car needed an alignment. I told them again I just came from the alignment shop and was told otherwise. He again repeated it was an alignment issue. I asked how much for a replacement. He quoted over $120. I said thank you and walked out cause that was definitely not in the budget. When I got back to the car I got mad. I KNEW it was not because of an alignment issue. Had they told me something more plausible it would be no deal as to why the warranty did not cover it. I went back in and asked for a number for corporate. Young guy went to talk to his supervisor. Young guy comes back and tells me they can warranty it out but reiterates it is due to an alignment issue. I asked the warranty price and it was still going to be over $80. I knew Discount had a better price and I am done done done with Firestone. I asked the young man again for corporates number. This time his boss came out and stated he does not have a number for corporate. To make it clear. I did not think or want a free tire but I also did not need to be lied to nor spoken down to through the poor young guy by his bosses. As I said in a previous post. I am a full time Uber driver and decided to go to Firestone on Rodeo Road since there is a 15% discount for Uber drivers. and In June, I brought back my Odyssey after noticing an unusual wear on the edge of my right front tire despite an alignment that had been done. I ask to have the alignment redone since it was still under warranty. They did so and told me there was nothing wrong with the alignment. Here we are about a month later and my tire is getting down to the metal on the edge. I pass by Firestone on Rodeo Rd and talk to a young man who seemed pretty knowledgeable, go outside to check the tire. I explain to him the story since may/june plus ask him to have his staff check a clinking noise when I drive over a bump, telling him that some of the rubber joint had to be changed since I had noticed them being super dry and cracked. He set the appointment to the next day. I go to Chihuahua tire (very efficient and fast) to change my tire and go back to firestone to change my appointment to Thursday 11am instead. The same young guy confirm to me Thursday 11am. I arrive Thursday 11am. Not in the system I was told. I explain that the appointment had been moved from Wednesday to Thursday by this young man. The front desk guy ask for my phone number and ask for my keys. I ask, so we are ok for 11am. yeah yeah he says. I wait, and wait, and wait, and wait, 30mn later still see my van on the parking lot. I ask what is going on, the new mustache guy tells me oh no worries you are next. Ok I will be back in a few I had to do an errand right away as I was not expecting so long just to have a diagnostic done. I come back 40mn later and guess what, my van is still on the lot. I ask the same mustache guy, what s going on? Oh he says no worries you are next, he is taking it now. Are you kidding me, it has been 1.30hr now for a diagnostic, I wish you have had told me guys at 11am that you were behind. I could have have done my stuff, working and coming back when you were ready. The mustache guy says, well you didnt have an appointment for today but for yesterday, I didnt take care of you this morning, the other guy did it!!!!!! Are you kidding me? You were here this morning, you are the one who told him to look for me with my phone number. (of course the young man from the day before was not here today). He responds: Well the guy told you , you knew about it. (So you tell me you were not here didnt do it, but you know what the guy told me????) I said Guys, the least you could have done is to communicate your being late, and so I could have choose to stay or not and reorganize my day. Long story short, the van is in, it takes them forever to start working on the van, about 20mn, to take all wheels down and diagnose all wheels, brakes, shoke, tires, brakes..... but nothing about the right front rubbers, and alignment. (not a money making I guess) I see the guy taking his lunch break and noone is telling me anything. I come back in and ask the new guy (another one) at the front desk Kyle Cline (the manager the only one who apologized for the entire timing fiasco, who explain to me exactly what they found and who was very courteous and customer oriented, unlike mister mustache man). I am presented with a $1250 estimate telling me it was a strut and stabilizing barre issue that all needed to be changed. (different diagnose than another mechanic). I decline, walk away and ask to make sure that the alignment was still ok. They tell me it was not needed to be done. I drive away, back to work right away, get on the freeway and what do I see, my steering wheel is no longer straight but goes to the left along with my van who now pull to the left when I drive. I called them and they swear that they have nothing to do with it, stating that they only remove the tires and put them back on. I have to go back waste another 3 hrs for nothing. Their Mantra is about Customer service, safety bla bla bla. Will never go back there and dont advise anyone to go for any mechanical issues, only if it is for a nail in a tire. Came in with a tire issue. Was quoted a price and a promise it would be done in 2 hours. I came back after 2 hours and nothing was done. The service tech said he has some questions. I asked him why he didn't call me. Get this. No answer!!!! Just stared at me. So I asked him again why he didn't call. No answer again. Just the same stupid stare. He then asked me what tire was bad? This tire had a huge chunk out of the sidewall on the outside of the tire. Finally another employee came over and tried to help but couldn't tell me why the price now magically went up $40. So here I sit waiting for another hour or so to get my tire fixed. I'm sure that because I am out of state on vacation this place is trying screw me out of every dime I have. The manager, who wasn't the person I interacted in the original review, listened to my concerns, promised to speak to the employee I dealt with, and then offered to fully refund my money. I was impressed with the speed of the follow up, and the apparently genuine concern for the bad experience, so the rating should now be 2.5 stars, the average of 1 and 5. Not sure I'll use this place again, because this was a hassle and unpleasant, but the follow was very good. read more

Bummer that i went in for a tire rotation/oil change. Although they checked off the checklist saying they "topped off coolant and wiper fluid", they in fact did not and i had to add my own later. They misdiagnosed the cause of the noise. I paid over 500 dollars. I took it back in to diagnose the cause of the creaky noise when I go over speed bumps or turn. Since we were going on a trip, I asked them to rotate the tires and air the tires. When I went pick it up, they were already closed. The tires looked very low still, so I checked two and got 24 psi and 26 psi. I looked at the inspection list and the tech put that all four tires were 35 psi going in and 35 psi going out. And that it was "OK." When I asked the front desk the rep said, "it's okay." That's the best I could get. The noises are still there. read more

Seems like the old adage about only saying something when you are angry applies double to auto mechanical repairs. I have been using the Mall Firestone for around 8 years. From alignments to tires to oil changes to exhaust help they have been super. I do tend to drive newer cars so I don't have too many troubles. One of the managers, Ben, has always been super and has taken care of my vette, Boss 302, Ram 1500, Nissan Rogue and Versa, Jeep Cherokee, Sedona van and if I recall they worked on my horse trailer and a few beaters that I have around. Never any problems. Sure I may have to return for a tweak and the Boss takes specialty parts that are difficult to find and terribly expensive, like 18 dollar a quart oil, but they get it done. Do not blame them if an old car has "old car problems". If Ben could tune my arthritis like they do the vette I'd let him date my daughter. Remember that a 2 thousand dollar car has 5 thousand dollars worth of coming repairs!! read more

I wrote all this and noticed I had the wrong Firestone, I apologize, I have no knowledge or history of the Rodeo Rd. location. Needed tires on my work truck, went to Firestone, decided on tires with the sales person. He ordered the tires and said drop off your truck tomorrow morning. I dropped truck off and already saw the tires stacked up ready to be mounted. I went home and about 4 hours later I get a call telling me my tires are on the truck and it is ready to pick up. I was also told that they could not balance them because their balancer could not work on that size rim. I would have to go to another tire place and get them balanced. Sounds unfortunate but they were already on. This truck is used in Interstate Transport, not that reasonable now that we consider that. I asked about the fact that most people who use tools know exactly the tools capacities, capabilities and proper ways to use them, so why didn't they know that these rims would not fit the tool? I explained that the tires cost x amount, the time it will take me to go somewhere and wait in line to probably get told to drop off the truck and pick it up later will cost me on third of the original x amount. If I lose the scheduled pick-up the cost to me could exceed the cost of the tires. The salesperson suggested a place to go. It is Tuesday, the place he suggested gave me a timeline of next Tuesday. Not much help from the Firestone guy!! I guess it is the face of no concern that got me the most. I will get the tires balanced, I will get back on the road, and things will go on. But, exercise due diligence in selecting a tire store, don't get caught in a deal that there is no good way out. And yes I did lose the pick up, plus time involved in finding a tire store to balance 6 tires from a F-350 (not exactly a rare truck) and it did have an affect on the cash flow of my business, exceeding the $1300 price tag for the tires. Their service is always top-notch, friendly and professional. I recently moved to Santa Fe and had previously gone to a Jiffy Lube in town for my oil change but being disappointed in their service and their price, decided to give Firestone a try. The guys at the front desk were super helpful and friendly. Not having done my research online for a coupon before going in, I asked if they had any coupons available (I would have gone home to print one out if need be) but they offered me one in the store to use ($10 off). I also brought in an air filter recently purchased at Auto Zone not realizing it was not an easy swap on my car. They agreed to put it in for me at no extra charge. I was out the door for a little over $60 bucks which sounds like a lot but my car calls for full synthetic oil and when done at my ma and pa oil change spot in CO, cost me $85. I believe Jiffy Lube in Santa Fe charged me $75 for the same and I didn't have the confidence in the mechanics as I did here. This is my new oil change place! read more
