It took about 1.5 hours. I recommend getting the lifetime alignment if you're keeping your vehicle for longer than a year. It pays itself back after two alignments. To make this an exceptional rating, I recommend this location invests in a cleaning crew and some hospitality items. I.e. new furniture, coffee and water station etc. This would allow for a more comfortable experience during a long wait and elevate the customer experience. read more

Expensive oil change! $93 after $25 off. I switched my rear back lights to led and my particular truck (2016 Ram) displays an alert that rear lights are out because I switched to led. They tried to say they'd switch them out for $244 and didn't even check the actual lights which are totally functional. Thieves among em there or just pure incompetence. The last time I had my oil changed there previously, they had forgotten the o-ring around the new oil filter and nearly killed my truck. They did comp me but don't trust them at all. Always check before leaving. And I wouldn't go here for anything. I'll be finding a better place or just do it myself. read more

While I've only recently come to live in the greater Charleston area again, I had to take my vehicle into the shop. I asked my mom whom to see and she gave me a couple names, however my own research based on my experiences in other states led to me chose Firestone. First off my check engine light came on, so I put a sensor on my SUV and it said a "leak in the exhaust" which was a bit vague and I'm not a vehicle expert. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called Firestone and they were truthful with me, telling me it would take two days to see me, so I made my appointment after telling them my issue and they gave me a ballpark estimate based on the data.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They called me and reported their findings and an estimate to get it fixed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] No problem I responded and they went to work and were done 6 hours earlier than their original estimate. Moreover they didn't break the bank with the job of fixing my issues. Most importantly they didn't upsell me, rather confirmed my findings and fixed them. Firestone did their job and did it well, I received both an email with my itemized cost and a paper receipt along with the service agent giving me a rundown of the issue. They were prompt, courteous and informative with a relatively clean waiting area. My lone experience with them was good and thus they've earned my trust and repeat business. read more

This place is solid. I was in a bind on two separate occasions recently for needing tires patched - I was stranded until the work got done. Both times they got me back quickly as a walk-in and did the repairs. I worked with the manager of the store the first time who just had a nice overall demeanor, and today with one of the employees who had Led Zeppelin tattoos on his arm (can't remember their names). We are here from Calif visiting family. We were going to wait until we were home and go to the Firestone we use where we live in San Diego but noticed a tire with a problem and decided to get new tires before we drove the 2500 miles home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Called at 7 am on 12/26 to see if we could bring the truck in and we were told they were busy but bring it in and leave the truck and they would take care of it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I called around 5ish to see when the truck was going to be ready. I was told not until 6:30 and they couldn't do the front end alignment because there was no technician there and we would need to bring the truck back on Saturday. We didn't want to leave the truck in their parking lot overnight as we have personal belongings in it. Obviously it was dark so I didn't look at the tires. Went out this morning and they should be all black tires and they are not. I do not recommend this place. I was just trying to get my 100,000 mile services done but they charged me $1200 and gave me a vehicle that was never drove after repairs and a misfire when accelerating. When returned and they kept vehicle for 3 days and chalked it up to a transmission issue, without looking at besides a test drive or two, that was never an issue till they touched it and the best part is they don't work on transmissions. So now I'm out of $1200 and have to look for someone to actually repair my vehicle from this awesome place. read more

My battery wouldn't start and upon opening the hood, we found that foamy looking battery corrosion...cleared enough off to jump it and take it to AutoZone to get it replaced. AutoZone advised the battery terminal was broken and battery was bad. We got a new battery there and they recommended running it to Firestone to get the battery terminal replaced... I waited about an hour and upon returning to my vehicle, found that they had not put the new battery in as directed (it was sitting in front floor board - hard to miss too). Not a big deal so I decided to just run by AutoZone and have them do it. When I opened the hood at AutoZone, I was greeted by the mess you see in the pictures. The guy at AutoZone was like, who did this?? I told him it had been taken to Firestone like he had suggested. He said repeatedly that he couldn't believe they'd left it the way they had as all the corrosion left would just cause my new battery to corrode much faster. He then cleaned off the corrosion and installed my new battery. I won't return here in the future as I would prefer to spend my money somewhere that does a thorough job. read more

I would not recommend this place. First of all the customer is poor. I walked in and stood their for 5 minutes and was not acknowledged at all. Approached the counter and was told they were helping a customer sitting in the lobby and I would be next??? Ok there isn't anyone at the counter currently and no one has acknowledged me so...how would I know that I'm next??? Nevertheless they were advised of the issue that I had with my car prior to it being dropped off and that there were no "check engine lights" on, but a problem was occurring each time I drove it. A day goes by, no phone call about the car at all. The next day I call and they say well we don't see any "check engine lights" and it drove fine so you can come pick it up.. we don't see an issue. This was a waste of my time. I had told them no lights were on to begin with.... On the one hand they didn't charge a diagnostic fee but because nothing was actually done to fix or diagnose my car and because of the rude woman at the counter, I would not recommend this place unfortunately. read more

This is a ridiculous bad store. I call to find out what is going on , phone rang for two minutes, no answer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I finally call the district office and they take complaint and say they will have the district manager call me back.lie number 3 because that hasn't happened yet.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They finally finish the truck and I go to pick it up. The Manager gives us a hard time for complaining because we had to call the district office to actually get something done.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had appointment and they had the truck for 3 days!! Three days for oil change and a battery replacement!!! I wish I could say that was the end of it but it's not. 20 minutes after I pick up the truck, I get gas. After getting gas my "need oil change" light comes on. I check the oil and it's obvious it has not been changed as the oil is very dirty so I know it wasn't done. I got charged for a service that wasn't done!! As of this writing I am still waiting for the district office to call back so I can let them know that I was charged 145 dollars for a service that was not done. This past week my son experienced a flat tire on his way to work--he was "on loan" to a Summerville location for inventory. My husband met him, helped change to the temporary, and kept the damaged tire thinking we would have to have it repaired locally. We didn't want our son driving on the temporary for so many miles, so I looked up the Firestone in Summerville, went to pick up the tire at my husband's work location, and then called Firestone's Summerville location to tell them I was on my way. Billy, who answered the phone, was able to look up and confirm they had the tire we needed in stock. But then he went the extra mile, so to speak. He asked about the location where my son was working. I was going to have to drop off the rim, then go swap cars so the tire could be put on, then swap cars again for both my son and I to drive back to the town where we live. Billy told me that he would love to have my business, but there was actually another Firestone location much closer to where I was going. That store had what we needed in stock, too. He indicated that if they couldn't fit me in quickly, to come along to his store and he would take care of us. While I ended up being served at the other location, I appreciate that Billy took the time to consider what our needs were and help solve a problem--even if his own store didn't profit from the business. I called on Friday and scheduled a 4:00 P.M. appointment on Sunday for the Firestone location on Old Trolley Road in Summerville. I showed up 20 mins early and was told I didn't have an appointment that if I scheduled through customer than I should have called the local store to confirm. I thought I was talking to the local store when I called it was an 843 area code. I even got email confirmation and texting stating I was confirmed for Sunday at 4:00 P.M. I was supposed to get a headlight and break light replaced and now I have to find another place open on the weekends cause I can't come during the week due to my job. I bought a car from a friend who had full brake work done at the Firestone on Trolley Road just 9 months ago. We have had two shops tell us that the brakes are prematurely worn and now a safety issue. Even though I have the receipt, because the car changed ownership, Firestone will not back up their work and fix the brakes. This store manager is a crook. If you make an online appointment, the store is supposed to contact you within 30 minutes to confirm it. What they do, is wait until the end of the day, or the next day, to see how many online appointment requests they get. Then they cherry pick the ones they want, and call you back to say "I have no open appointments." If they are dishonest about this, do you trust them not to scam you on your auto repairs? I had a vehicle inspection done. When I first went, they could not get me in at the last minute, but promptly booked my appointment for a few days later. The inspection was done quickly and took less time than they first estimated. The cost for this inspection was 3 times less at Firestone than it was at my dealership. Definitely a bonus! The first inspection form they used was expired, so I had to return to get an updated version. It was great that they were open on a Sunday so that I could do this. Went to this Firestone to have tires replaced and front end aligned. They could tell I was in kind of a hurry, and they got to work on the car immediately. Later on, they told me two of the four Tire Pressure Monitoring System sensors were bad and asked me if I wanted to buy new ones or just disable the system. Later, I was back in there for the TPMS beeping at me constantly, and then it turned out that all the ignition-switch-cycling they had to do to reset the TPMS had blown the alternator. They replaced the alternator for free. The whole experience took a long time - I was there for like 8 hours, but I have to say this: I know a lot about cars. I'm a car mechanic myself. These guys were dealing with some complex systems that had them stumped more than once. They had *many* opportunities to tell me things needed to be done (thus generating business), but they didn't. They were uniformly professional and technically competent, and I never once got the feeling they were trying to screw me. They recommended only the things that needed to be done, and they worked diligently on the things I asked them to do. That's kind of a rarity in the car repair business, and for that I give then 5 stars.... read more

I went in for a diagnostic and the answer they gave me didn't seem like it would be right so I asked how they arrived at the conclusion. I got a sarcastic response back about how I was paying for the technician's knowledge and the code reader. A second opinion confirmed that the diagnostic they did was inaccurate so at least I didn't spend $500+ on the repair they were recommending. Before going to Firestone that day I did my own research online and found that most auto A/C problems stem from a bad upper and/or lower switch. So once there and after the tech did a so-called $99.00 diagnostic test I asked if it could be the switch and was boldly told with the shaking of his head..."no", that it was indeed the compressor. So, we took his professional advice and decided to have the compressor replace. While waiting days for the part to get in we decided to try another shop, Import Service Center (ICS). They did a $44.00 diagnostic test and gave us the print-out showing that the problems were indeed the switch and not the compressor. After giving us the name of the repair shop in Mount Pleasant that could replace the switch we had it done for a total cost of $440.00. What really get us is the plain facts that after the tech at Firestone ran the diagnostic test they knew for a fact that it was the switch and not the compressor and intentionally withheld the result of the test from us. The compressor have been running perfectly since the switch was replaced nearly a month ago no thanks to Firestone. They conceal the result of the diagnostic test and out right lied when I asked if it was the switch. Just to think I've been going to Firestone for years but never, never, ever again will I/we ever patronized them for anything and I do mean ANYTHING!!! 09/06/2020 Update! FYI! It has been over four (4) years since we were told by Firestone that the car's AC system needed a new compressor. That so-called "bad compressor" is STILL running perfectly strong, no thanks to Firestone. And a small correction...the total cost for the switch replacement was $240.00, not $440.00. read more

I will preference this experience by saying, I will never go here again! As a favor to a friend, I took their truck to this location for an oil change. As a courtesy, the location does a free tire inspection where a nail was found in a tire. I was informed of this and ordered for the tire repair. It was determined that the nail did not puncture the tire. Here is where the plot thickens. The next day, my friend and I head out in the truck to run errands for a business that we run. The sensor indicated the pressure of the tire to be a much lower PSI then expected. I took the truck back as I had actually ordered an incorrect oil as a high-density oil is needed and for the tire to be reinspected. I was told that the work would take about two hours due to the time of day and the overall work requirements. So I head elsewhere for the duration. I was called asking where the wheel security lock is located in the truck. I was informed, "We looked in the glove box and in all places where a security lock would be." As I did not know, I called my friend and they informed me that the security lock was in the glove box the entire time. Considering it was closing time when I got back, I decided to come back the following day and "not press my luck." Early the next morning, I return for the tire repair. The technician that took me in was not particularly pleasant. After the work was completed, I talked to the manager by expressing my dissatisfaction. While doing so, another worker rudely intervened saying, "It is not our responsibility to look for the security lock." The thing about the worker is that they were not on duty, but there for some need and informed me that "I pulled the nail out myself." Was it pulled out without it being plugged? Then a second nail was mentioned. How could the tire not be punctured if not taken off the wheel for an actual inspection. Other than routine maintenance, I do not know much more about repairing a car. I do know that must be done to complete a full inspection of a tire. If is not their responsibility for the security lock, how come the previous day someone looked throughout the truck before asking me? Thankfully, the manager decided for the best interest of all to have the tire repair be free. The only person publicly willing to be accountable for the work was the manager. Had the manager not done so, two stars would not have been given. Again, I will never ever visit this location again for anyone's auto needs! read more

A technician and his manager tried to convince me they installed a timing belt in my wife's car. At home, I removed the timing belt cover enough to see the original belt was still there. Corporate refunded my $, fired the tech and paid a dealership to replace the belt. I went there and was told that my head gaskets were blown, they referred me to someone,didn't feel comfortable about how things went down, so i decided on another opinion, I was told that i needed a new radiator and thermostat by another person I had ck my car, and it cost me 499.00 for the repairs instead of 2200.00 that firestone said I needed for new head gaskets. There was nothing wrong with my head gaskets. Never will use them again. read more
