Yesterday I was driving home from work when one of my brand new $173 tire blew. I took it back to the shop being as it hadn't even been 30 days. I got told that bad things happen and that there was no warranty for the tires I got. If I wanted a new one I would have to buy yet another tire. Years of business down the drain but with the new management the whole company has gone under. Wouldn't even recommend this 'repair' shop to my worst enemy

I asked, "Just for a leak check?" She replied, "That's what happens when you're the best." That is cocky and overconfident. It was a Friday (5/22) afternoon. I went down the road to Pit Stop and they found the leak within 10 minutes of my arrival, but it was a nail near the sidewall. With a warrantied tire, I needed Gerald's to do the work otherwise pay full cost for a tire. I called the following Monday and the guy I spoke with was dismissive, saying that it was a rare Friday and they got bombarded. He cut me off several times while I was explaining what happened then told me to come back either Friday or Saturday and it wouldn't be so bad. I went yesterday (5/29) and was told it would be a 4 hour wait yet again. I loudly told them that their "excellent" customer service means nothing if I can't get service at all. Nobody should have to wait so long for a leak check, even if it leads to a tire replacement. That should be a quick thing. I went again this morning, arriving at 8:30 (they open at 8). I was told it would be 1 hour and 40 minutes (roughly). Okay, still not thrilled with that. I have NEVER had to wait like that at Gerald's for such a simple issue. At 10:30, my car was still sitting there untouched. I asked for an update, and was told 15-20 minutes and they would have it in the bay. Frustrated, I rolled my eyes and sighed. The lady, unapologetically and slightly sarcastically, replied "Sorry." 32 minutes later, at 11:02, they finally pulled it back. At 11:11, the tech came to tell me what I had already told them at check-in (that it had a nail, up against the sidewall, etc). They would have to use a similar tire as they didn't have the same one available. Fine, let's get it done. $10.95 is the cost. At 11:32, they finally pulled the car up and dropped the keys at the front desk. I walked up, she completed the total, charged me, provided me an itemized receipt, and that was it. No apologies for the long wait time. No apologies for anything. No offer to make it better. Just "there's a free car wash in the envelope." Like I stated, you can have the best warranties and service around but it all means very little if I can't get in to get service to begin with. I'm not sure if it's just this location, but I refuse to patronize them again. There is plenty of competition available that I can use with much faster service. Sad, really, that this is what Gerald's has become. TLDR: If you can waste most of your day on the simplest of services, or if you are able to drop your vehicle and leave it for the day or longer, then this place is for you. If you need a simple thing done quickly, look elsewhere.

But when I got there it was not done. They hadn't even started the work. My advisor said they could not find the wheel lock. I said it's in the glove compartment, where else would it be? I went and got it myself. I said I didn't see how they could have missed it, being in a Hay Tire bag that you can see through. (see photos) But okay, fine, you can't find the wheel lock. But why tell me the work was done? Why not call and ask me where the wheel lock is, so I wouldn't have to wait around another 45 minutes to get the work done. I've had good experiences with this business in this past, but this was not one of them.

Upon arriving, he was also there to check me in. Very friendly and helpful guy. When we spoke days before, I was told that the specific tire I needed would arrive by today but came to find out that it wasn't. However after inspecting my tire, they were able to repair it with a plug since it was just a nail that was causing the slow leak so it did end up working out. But in the future I do hope that it's communicated to me if my tire doesn't show up on time so that any time wasted is avoided. Overall the appointment only took about 45 minutes and I received a text to notify when my car was ready. It didn't cost me anything because I had put warranty on the tire which was also a nice feature they offered. I still plan on coming back to this location next time.

The wheels were swapped over, no issues. I got home to download the old wheels and noticed that they shredded around the lip where the machine separates them from the tires. This caused a deep gash in the lip of the wheel. Simon didn't mention this to me at all. I came back to the shop to bring it the owner/managers attention. I was approached by Simon who I didn't want to speak with but kept hovering around me wanting to discuss the issue. Spoke with the manager and she stated the owner just had a child. Fair enough. Please have him call me. No call. Nothing. Took the wheel to Kwiksilver, they said they couldn't fix it. I came back Saturday to Quality Tire Co. Owner was there. After we spoke, he wanted to solve the problem with whatever I thought the resolution would be. Only problem is, is that the wheels are rare. Very hard to replace something that's been discontinued for over 30 years. I explained to him that I had a buyer (original owner ) and they pulled out the sale for the overall condition of the wheel. He said it's "still sellable". I could sell the wheel for $50. Doesn't make it sellable. Owner was very indifferent when it came to the issue and when I explained the attitude his employee at work has affecting his professionalism at work, he defended his employee saying it's not true. I've heard it every time I come here from this employee and I don't usually care until it affects how they perform their duties at work, which it did. If you have nice wheels and want good service for people who hold their business accountable for their mistakes and actions, SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE!! We choose Gerald's as we trust them. We dropped it off at night, so they could diagnose the issue. They called us and said after inspection it was a tire issue. We went ahead with the service as they recommended it. When they called us to pick it up, I asked if they were able to confirm if the issue was resolved. If not, we could have it further diagonsed and resolve the issue. They told me they do not drive the cars after installing tires. Odd as how would they be able to confirm if the issue was resolved? Continuing to trust them, we picked it up and our car. Unfortunately for us, we have two new tires and a car that still shakes.
