I would not recommend this shop based on my recent experience, particularly for customers who may be in a vulnerable situation. Last week, while traveling for work on the New Jersey Turnpike, my check engine light began flashing. After pulling over, I learned this typically indicates an engine misfire requiring prompt attention. I was towed to a nearby auto shop, where they kindly performed a complimentary diagnostic and identified a misfire in cylinder 3, recommending spark plug replacement. Because that shop could not perform the repair the same day, I contacted several others and found this Firestone location, which had availability. Upon arrival, I spoke again with the Manager named Mike and explained the prior diagnostic results, including the specific misfire code. Despite this, I was now told that an additional "computerized engine analysis" was required to determine the cause, at a cost of approximately $140. I also confirmed that this fee would not be applied toward any repair work. After waiting about an hour, I was told that cylinder 3 was misfiring due to a faulty ignition coil and that the recommended repair included replacing all spark plugs and one ignition coil. When I asked how the ignition coil issue was confirmed, I initially received unclear answers referencing the same diagnostic codes I had already provided, which only indicated a misfire. After further questioning, I was told that the conclusion was based on manually swapping ignition coil connections between cylinders to observe whether the misfire followed--standard plug and play troubleshooting rather than a distinct computerized test that was charged. Given my circumstances--being far from home and needing to continue traveling--I felt I had little choice but to proceed with the repair. The total cost came to approximately $700. After returning home, I compared pricing and found that similar work is typically significantly less expensive. While I understand that pricing and labor rates can vary, I was concerned by the lack of transparency around the diagnostic process and the overall cost, especially given that I had already provided initial diagnostic information. To their credit, the shop was able to accommodate me on short notice, which I appreciated. However, based on my experience, I would encourage others to seek a second opinion if possible and to ask detailed questions about diagnostic procedures and pricing before proceeding. read more

I've been going to Firestone for years; I've been to a number of their locations. In the 20 years I have been a customer, this is by far the WORST Firestone I have ever gone to. They do not treat you well, you feel as though you are bothering them. I brought my car in with a check engine light and asked for 60k service. The intake person clearly did not explain or write anything down for the person that worked on the car. They also did not give me a quote when I arrived when I asked for one. When they called me, I told them to just change the oil and rotate the tires. I didn't trust them to do anything else. I went in and had my oil changed. On my way to work, the very next day, I heard what sounded like scraping/grinding with every little bump in the road. Upon parking my car, I got down on hands and knees to investigate the noise underneath my car. I immediately saw the issue. The cover/shield they remove, that allows them access and drain the oil, was all bent up and dragging against the road. I took photos and am NOT happy at all. I called them back to describe the above. All I got was "We'll take a look at it"... no apology, no we're sorry this happened to you. So I drop my car off for them to look. I get a call back later saying my car was ready. All they did was "resecure lower splash shield". Granted there was no charge, but I am NOT satisfied. It was their mistake. They should have ordered me a brand new splash shield, not forcibly reattach the one that was all bent up and dragging against the roadway as a result of THEIR mistake. If the above wasn't bad enough, I should add that I was originally scheduled for MORE than just an oil change. My original receipt clearly stated that I had let them know a message was up on my maintenence minder, which stated "B124 service is due on my Honda Civic". This is a code that means MORE THAN JUST AN OIL CHANGE+FILTER! B = Replace engine oil and oil filter, inspect front and rear brakes, check parking brake adjustment, as well as a list of other things to inspect. 1=Rotate Tires 2=(this one I'm okay with because I told them I replace my own cabin and element filters - so they didn't have to). 4=Replace spark plugs, inspect valve clearance. My invoice confirms NONE of the above was done, only the oil change and oil filter. There wasn't even a mention that any of the B124 was checked by them. No mention of spark plugs, etc. I don't trust them. I'm bringing my car elsewhere to have them double check everything they did, especially the undercarriage. And also get a proper inspection. I am so done with Firestone. My husband hasn't had a good experience here either. We both concluded we are taking our business elsewhere, preferably to a place that is NOT a chain. What a great experience! Got a flat tire, and got towed to this location at 6pm on a Tuesday. They close at 7pm, but their service was impeccable, even with only two mechanics running the whole show at that time of day! We had nowhere to go as we were stranded in the middle of a foreign area in a torrential downpour. There were a few other cars already in the shop, but they worked on our car immediately. How amazingly kind!! Changed out the two front tires and we were on our way within 40 minutes. The cost for both tires came out to be about $260. Pretty doable, way better than if we were at the dealership! Wish we got the mechanics' names to give them credit, but definitely would recommend this location! Considering even coming here to change out the other two tires, despite how far away this place is to our home in Philly! read more

Went to a great Firestone shop in Wilmington Delaware and bought a new set of tires. Twice had a nail with a slow leak. Both times pulled up to Firestone Swedesboro, almost flat. Dropped my truck off this morning with a screw in the rear tire. It was no where near the edge. Manager Bill said it may be too close to the side wall hinting I might need a new $281.00 tire. I took pics and insisted he was wrong. I also told him I didn't trust this place due to all the bad reviews. He said they don't like to patch because it may lose tire pressure. I then stated well that's not a problem as the truck has a tire pressure monitoring system. I then get called two hours later and Bill told me it could now be patched. Had a slow leak in my front right tire. I had to fill it 3 times in one day. It started on a Friday and got worse by Sunday. Came in at 12:00pm. and they seemed pretty busy. They said they'd look at it, turned out to be a nail in my tire and it would cost $32 to put a seal on it. (They don't do plugs anymore, I guess plugs aren't as reliable as seals) It's worth the extra $$ because it was on a Sunday and they took me as a walk in. They have leather comfy seats, I sat here for an hour and a half, it didn't really feel that long. Within walking distance to rite aid Incase you need to grab something. For tires, they're ok. Don't expect to get on your way quickly. Drop it off and expect it to take all day. DO NOT get an alignment! This should be right in their wheelhouse but I had my car back 3 times and it still pulled to the left, like really bad. I had to fight to keep it on the road. On a trip down to DC from RI, my car broke down on the NJ Turnpike on a Sunday afternoon. I decided to get it towed to Firestone, seeing that it was nearby and it was already a familiar place that I frequent at home. I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't gone here. Conveniently located down the road from a hotel, the gentlemen working immediately began working on my vehicle. Unable to fix it the same day due to an issue with finding a part, Joshua drove us in his own personal vehicle to the hotel so that we didn't have to lug all of our belongings with us. He and his team worked non stop to find the parts they needed to fix my car. While we waited, they checked on us and asked if we were hungry or thirsty. They constantly went above and beyond their job duties. When it came time to retrieve my vehicle, Michael ensured that we were able to pay with my new card quickly and easily (since I didn't have a physical copy yet) and even offered to help carry out bags out to the car. I wish I had gotten the rest of the staff's names. This Firestone full of incredible, hardworking and kindhearted people who I cannot thank enough for fixing my car and making me feel safe. I buy Firestone tires because they wear like iron. Price is comparable to other name brands. I have had service done here in the past. They have done a good job. Prices are a little high and it takes all day but it's like that everywhere. If I can do it myself, I will but if I can't then I feel okay bringing it here. read more

When I had a company car, I used to get my fleet service dine at this location and was always satisfied. About a month ago, we bought a set of tires and got a really good deal - buy 3 and get the 4th free. We were able to get a quick appointment and everything was done to my satisfaction. We got the road hazard protection to go along with it. On Friday, I noticed that my tire pressure was low. I filled it up and it dropped again. I tried to take my car in to get checked, but the were full up on the weekend. I finally was able to get a spot on Monday, but had to keep filling my tire over the weekend. I was very satisfied because they fully replaced my tire with no questions asked and no trying to say that there was wear or prorating the replacement. They had also put the pressure sensors in backwards and fixed that at no charge. Only reason that it is 4 stars instead of 5 is because it was hard to get in to get my tire fixed. read more

I have been here multiple times for service for different vehicles. It is very busy on the weekends and sometimes parking is tough to find but there is a reason. I had flat tire today and drove to Firestone immediately afterwards hoping for a patch or at worst buy a new tire or two. Manager Rob Chiarello noticed bubbling along the sidewall of the tire and because I had Firestone tires he warranted the tire fully. I did not expect that at all. Service was also fast and courteous. Rethink where you're going. I've been once for actual service and waited entirely too long for a simple oil change, even though i had an appointment and arrived perfectly on time, if not slightly early. I have called several times over the past couple years and every time i call, i'm reminded why i don't want to take my vehicle here. Not only do they sound rude on the phone, they sound like they don't want to be bothered, and they never seem to know what they're saying. I asked if they could take a look at my headlights. They stated they could replace the bulbs and they would have to charge not only for new bulbs, but for services and all during the time. Despite the fact that my bulbs are new, just installed wrong. My car simply needed the bulbs taken out, and readjusted. The person on the phone seemed agitated that they had to speak, and then said who knows how much it would cost since they'd have to replace the bulbs. I dropped my car off for two repair jobs. The first repair was completed and when I asked about the second repair (a slow leak in my tire), the technician said "uh, we checked it and there was no problem". A week later, that same tire went completely flat on a major highway, leaving me stranded on the side of the road for an hour and needing to pay for towing. Also, the customer service at this location is horrendous every time I have been there. I have yet to ever receive a call telling me my car is ready to be picked up... and when I finally call to inquire about it, on three separate occasions I was lied to and told they "tried to call me several times" even though my cell phone showed no missed calls or voicemail messages. I can see this scenario happening once, but three times?? Not possible. The lying is unacceptable. I will no longer be using the services of this company. read more

I was driving through NJ when my car died on me. I had it towed into Firestone and had them check it out. It was an old car so the value of the car was not worth the repair. I wasn't surprised but I had to get back on the road since I was in the middle of a family trip. I rented a car and was on my way but I had this problem of my old car being stuck in NJ and not knowing what to do with it. This is where Frank G. really helped me out. He was able to get in contact with a scrap yard in the area and arrange for my car to be picked up and scraped and even had the check for the scrap sent to my home in NY. I really appreciated him handling all this because like I said I was in the middle of a trip and I couldn't really get around to it. So from a customer service prospective, I felt they were really great. I thank Frank to this day for helping me out of that bind. A mechanic did come out and explain the situation to me and what had gone wrong with the car and I just wanted to say that they seemed to know what they were talking about and were helpful in every way. I mention this only because I saw other reviews that gave the mechanics poor ratings and only wanted to relay my experience with them. I read an email stating my online appointment could not be confirmed for an oil change and we tried calling you. First off, they never tried calling me so I would've never known that my appointment was technically canceled until I read my email. Does it hurt to go out of your way and take a second to call? Secondly, when I called this location, the guy was not friendly on the phone, had an attitude (that's majority of the mechanics there). He also did not even ask me to reschedule, I had to ask myself. Do you want business? Well, you lost a customer today and for future services. He also said they are very busy. I understand if you are busy, but take some interest in the services I need for my car. Called, was quoted a price and though I assumed price was high, I needed four tires for my truck and I decided to bite the bullet & pay the price. Now here is the kicker.... I was quoted $718 but I was charged $638!!!! Which is an excellent price for largeSUV/truck tires. I sat in the shop and waited while the tires were installed. Service was quick and friendly. They did not try to sell me anything extra. Its a 16 year old truck with 149,000 miles on it. Everywhere I go, someone tries to sell me something. They must see me coming and assume I put my 'stupid' hat on before walking into their shop. Monroe Muffler told me my right front tire was about to blow up (two years ago), my engine was about to fall out (again two years ago) etc. Tires Plus told me my brakes were shot & the truck was dangerous and further said that if I didn't get the brakes fixed they were going to call the police. I had some rust on my rotors, my mechanic sanded them down. I have an actual fear of walking into service stations at this point. Old truck, old owner, female. I am a walking target. And yet, Firestone was good. They did not push any extra or unnecessary services. I know the truck is well maintained. Its a work truck, it hauls, it pulls, it plays in the snow. I've used them at least 4 times from battery to radiator repairs/replacements. Never had a good experience. I almost always have to have another shop or mechanic fix issues the next day caused by the poor service at Firestone. They've even left my broken car in my driveway and ignored the problem they caused, which stranded me in my driveway. I posted the last fiasco I had with them on a town Facebook group page and received 30+ complaints from other local residents with similar horrible experiences. Will never step foot in there again. Not bad when the regular manager is there, but on Sundays they have a couple of young guys running the show. They are rude and not at all knowledgeable. One of them quoted me a price over the phone for $533.00 to fix my windshield wipers without having looked at the problem. When I went in today to have it examined first, by appointment, I was told that there wasn't anyone there that could look at it. Then the guy who quoted me the phone price came out and told me there was nothing to look at, it needs what it needs. I told him I would like to show the mechanic what the wipers are doing so they could be sure of what the problem is before I spend that kind of money. I was told that I would not be permitted to do that. After I figured out that I was being primed for a rip-off I walked right out of there. I made a 1 PM appointment for my sons truck - needed brakes and a front end alignment. I did a drive by at 3 PM and there were two techs looking at it. Called in at 5 PM and manager said they were still looking at it and that he would call me back in a few minutes. No return call. I called back at 6:30 PM to find out that the manager and tech that "looked at it" were gone for the day - did not call me - did not leave any information. The manager in charge knew nothing about the truck and claimed he had been "thrown under the bus by the others". I asked him to call his boss to get status since we needed the truck the next day. He claimed he did not have either persons cell phone. I asked him to check with others there to get a number. He said he was there alone and could not do that. Needless to say, I showed up at the facility 30 minutes later to retrieve my truck. I met the "manager" and quickly noted the other 3-4 techs still working in the service area.
